Alternate Roads RP

Stephen had awoken early and exited the Inn, heading to the dock. Upon his return to the Inn he saw Vesper getting himself screamed at by the Inn keeper, Stephen strode over and handed over the gil, "your so pathetic" Stephen announced "there is your money, now get lost" Stephen added before he spun and headed towards the edge of the woods "guys i will meet you there" he announced as he walked.
 
Yuna said smiling to her guardians,"Good morning, I hope you had a good night's rest." After yesterday, she hoped to find something good to come out of today. When Stephen woke up and decided to meet up at the woods, she said, "I'll come with you.", deciding to follow him towards the edge of the woods. As Yuna followed Stephen, she noticed that he was thinking about something she said, "Is there something wrong?"

Vesper sighed deeply he didn't like being called peripatetic, but he couldn't help having no money. Vesper started to walk towards the forest at his own slow rate but after a while noticed Sera wasn't coming.

"Hey are you day dreaming Sera, we better get going", Vesper called back before continuing at his slow pace. Vesper didn't mind getting there last as introductions weren't the interesting part the bit after it was so Vesper made it his habit to arrive later than everyone else just after the introductions.
 
Sera snapped back into reality. Looking back at Vesper as he walked towards Yuna and Stephen who had already left for the woods, she apologised," Sorry." Her thoughts had incidentally wandered off back into her past memories. It was hard to stop that, admittedly, especially with the scene of carnage all around her- which reminded her of the terrible past she experienced. The terrible past, that brought her into the art of Swordsmanship, and of Black Magic. All this, thanks to Sin, whom she swore to kill.

Hurrying towards Vesper, she noticed the wounds at her legs were almost non-existent now. Indeed, this wound had been a small one. 'Similarly, this destruction Sin caused is a small one. We should proceed on, before he unleashes catastrophe on Spira, before he destroys it all, everything we lived for. Everything we love.'

That thought stayed in Sera's mind as she walked on beside Vesper. Her face became determined as she mentally intoned last line. 'Everything we love.' It echoed repeatedly in her mind. "No more." She mumbled as she forged on. Gazing over her shoulders to the ruined village. "No more."

As Stephen strode towards the edge of the woods he was thinking about the last time he was here, as Yuna asked him if something was wrong he looked at her and then back forward "It's been a while since i was last here, i came with a summoner who set out on her pilgramage from this very town, she believed that she didn't require to travel to besaid" Stephen explained "She thought that missing only one Temple wouldn't really matter" stephen explained.

as he stood on the edge of the forrest and waited for the others to catch up. Stephen looked at Yuna "we fought our way through Spira, Visiting each and every temple, asides Besaid, she refused to go back on herself and then, when we got to the Calm lands, she wasn't strong enough, and we got in over our heads in a battle with some fiends a chimera Brain to be exact, i was strong, but it was stronger, i couldn't save her" Stephen's eyes welled up with tears "after i regained my strength i headed back to Besaid, and when i found out that you were going on your Piilgramage, i made a decision to not fail you like i failed her"

Stephen unsheathed the Caladbolg and pointed it out in front of himself "I got this in the calm lands, somebody told me the sword has amazing power held inside of it, and this" Stephen pulled out a strange rustic mirror from his pocket "and i was also informed that this was the key to unlocking that power" Stephen then slid the mirror back into his pocket before the others caught a glimpse of it.

[OOC: yea, i already have the Cloudy mirror i will be having it transform into the celestial mirror when we reach macalania woods, so if you want to, you can collect Sigil's and crests starting from now, and then you can power your Celestial weapon up from the woods.]
 
OOC: Sweet, I forgot about the Celestial Weapons.

IC: Yuna looked at the mirror that Stephen had, After he told her of it's significance. It reminded her of something that might be connected to it. She pulled out a flat diamond the shape of a cresent moon and whispered, "One of the Crusaders found it while they were patrolling Besaid, he gave it to me as kind of a going away present. Do you think this might be related to that mirror?"

OOC: Yes, I'm reffering to the Moon Crest.
 
Vesper looked at Sera as she glanced back at the village which thinking on it made him shiver slightly, they had more in common than she realized.

"Try not to look back, I find doing that keeps the memories at bay and helps prevent some of the pain of the past coming back. Just some words of advice from someone who's going through the same thing", Vesper said in a cool collected tone as the more he walked around this destruction the more memories slowly came back, and most weren't good. They were view of the aftermath and durations of a battle, a big one. There were also some happier memories of before this fight with people Vesper realized were past friends. But, Vesper thought as his mind came back to the present, but this isn't the time for the past, I have to help Lady Yuna so she can help many more. Vesper turned to Sera and smiled in a friendly way.

"Cheer up and learn to look at the bright side of things, look around at how many people survived and how many families are still together. Sin could have wiped this village and everyone in it out but he only destroyed a section of it resulting in many lives being spared. Don't think on the dead but the living and now, help the living survive, continue and grow stronger. Never let the dead and the past drag you down", Vesper finished before looking at the bright blue sky smiling, saying all that had helped him focus on the brighter side of life himself. Vespers speech was as much to reassure himself as it was to help Sera, or so he hoped helped her.
 
Sera sighed softly. Nodding in response, she thanked him," Thanks, Vesper. I appreciated that." Looking back at Yuna, she smiled an ironic smile. "True enough. In front of me, is the light of the world. She will save them." She added, walking towards Yuna. Stopping suddenly in her tracks, she closed her eyes. 'No more. This will all change, like what Vesper said. I should cheer up and look on the brighter side of things.' She thought to herself.

Turning to Vesper, she grinned. "Thanks again!" Her voice contained optimism now. Dashing over to Yuna she followed closely beside her.
 
Vesper smiled back as Sera ran to catch up while he kept walking calmly, it was good to see her in a good mood and smiling none the less, doing that for her cheered Vesper up and he jogged to catch up with the others. Maybe I won't arrive late this time, I will be there at the front in case anything happens, I will try and protect lady Yuna and keep Spira's ray of hope alive so she can bring the peace we all want once more. As Vesper came next to Stephan and Yuna he smiled at them.

"Alright guys lets get moving", Vesper said calmly while bringing his scythe out and resting it over his right shoulder.
 
Stephen pulled the Caladbolg an noticed Yuna's strange crest "no idea" he muttered before Vesper and sera cought up "okay guys, as Vesper pointed out, we should get moving" Stephen announced before striding into the woods, as he was walking he noticed some fiends, but nothing attacked.

stephen walked further into the woods, when he heard a screech, he looked further up the road and saw a large fiend "what the hell" stephen announced before Luzzu and Gatta stood infront of him "that is Ochu, lord of the wood, he is a strong fiend who is very dangerous, it would be best for the Lady summoner and her Guardians to go around, just in case" Stephen smirked and nodded, "I'll run the Idea past Yuna" he announced as he turned around and walked over to the others. "Go through or go round, your call" Stephen announced.
 
OOC: Usually, some people would avoid the battle and go around with their tail between their legs, but that's not how I operate......

IC: Although Yuna heard the Crusader's warning, she decided to go ahead and fight, maybe because of what happened in Kilika, she did not want it to get worse in case the Crusaders cannot handle it. She summoned Valefor and charged into battle. She knew her guardians would understand. Valefor started the fight by casting a Fire Spell on Ochu, because Lord Ochu was weak to fire, the spell caused it great pain
 
Seeing Yuna make her decision in deciding to take on Lord Ochu, Sera charged up beside her, blasting a Fire spell at the monster. "Lady Yuna, if it is your wish to do battle against this fiend, then let me help you!" She muttered, her eyes determined. Unsheathing her blade, she signalled her readiness to fight.

"Come on, guys!" She quickly called out to the other Guardians. Rushing over at Lord Ochu, she slashed at him. Without doubt of fear in her heart, this was one battle that Sera is determined to win. Crying out a soft battle cry, she cut into the fiend's flesh.
 
"Damnit, i hoped she would have said around" Stephen announced, slightly at the irrational decision of the lady summoner, that was completely out of character. Stephen, unlike the others, didn't charge in, instead he froze for a moment, thinking about the power of Ochu, and the summoner getting involved, it sent his memory back to the day he lost his last summoner. Quickly shaking it Off stephen sprinted forward and slashed at Ochu, the beast let out a small screech and Stephen continued fighting.
 
Valefor continued the offensive, launching a barrage of Fire spells on it. The Ochu tried to counter using his Poison Claws but Valefor dodged it before they hit someone. This was followed up by it falling asleep. But it would not matter. Valefor started to glow, and like it did against Sin, it fired beams from out of it's eyes, slicing across the Ochu, destroying the ground and the Ochu. To the surprise and awe of Luzzu and Gatta, they were able to defeat the lord of Kilika Wood.
 
Vesper ran at the creature at full sprint and ended up jumping high and cutting down one of its claws tentacles before it could strike down on Sera. Vesper landed against the side of the creature and instantly jumped back spinning leaving a massive cut along its side. Vesper landed well and struck several more times as hard as he could causing the creature to react and strike at him. Vesper watched the blow come down and as it struck him hard on the should Vesper span so the impact added to his moment and cut down the claw that struck him and leaving a gaping cut along its side.
 
After the gang defeated the Ochu, they continued forward. Stephen was a bit worried at what happened, so Yuna explained what she thought in her decision. Telling him that she doubted the Crusaders would have been able to keep it under control and if it was not stopped, it could have gotten into the port and hurt even more people than originally. Eventually, she came to a set of steps. These steps was where Lord Ohalland trained in blitzball in the peak of his career, before he became a summoner and defeated Sin.
 
Heaving a soft sigh of relief, a victorious grin formed on Sera's face as she watched Lord Ochu collapse in a heap, defeated. It felt great to finally be of use to the group. While she herself was confident of her own fighting capabilities, she knew the fact that she has to improve, so that when they finally encounter Sin again, it wouldn't result in a disaster like earlier.

The thought wiped the smile away from her face. Yet she proceeded to console herself that it will not happen a second time. 'Once bitten twice shy. I won't let this same thing happen over again.' Sera thought to herself, glancing over to Vesper. "Hey, thanks for defending me earlier." She said, with a genuine smile on her face. "I hope you could continue on this way, yeah?"

As she added that, she followed Yuna, who, after having engaged Stephen in conversation, have started towards a set of steps. 'If I remembered correctly, this was where one of the summoners trained in blitzball or something?' She wondered to herself, a strange sense of familiarity of the place bringing the thought to mind. Curiosity was overwhelming.

"Uh.. Lady Yuna, a summoner once trained his blitzball skills here before right? What was his name already?" She asked, curiosity a heavy tone used.
 
Vesper nodded to Sera's comment as she went over to join Yuna while he started to slowly trod after them. That fight was a good one but to Vesper wasn't a challenge, he felt like these monsters were a warm up to him but he threw this thought away. Over confidence is a bad thing, Vesper reassured himself, they are still a threat and I must still be careful. As Vesper came to the base of the stairs he let out a smile as he took the first step as this brought back several memories of himself about five years ago climbing these varying steps with a group of men in uniform, a uniform he was also wearing. This memory was cut away suddenly as his lack of fucus had caused him to trip, Vesper stuck his hand out and stopped himself before climbing up several steps quickly to make up for it. There coming back, slowly theres still alot of missing links but I'm starting to peice it together, Vesper thought to himself calmly with a smile.
 
As Stephen began up the stairs, his stride was as confident as ever, his memories of her came flooding back into his mind.

Stephen and cassidy strode up the stairs, Cassidy stumbled and fell over, Stephen laughed as he helped her up "hey, send me a postcard on ya next trip" Stephen joked causing Cassidy to playfully slap him "why are you my guardian when you bully me as much as the fiends do?" she announced causing Stephen to smile.

Stephen was sweating and it was obviouse that he was the only one with fighting ability as cassidy was completely untouched, as the pair reached the platform in which high summoner ohallen trained on Stephen looked at cassidy

*BANG* Stephen had learnt not to reminice about his past and walk at the same time, the hard way. Laying face first in some of the stone steps he slowly picked himself up, his nose was bleeding and he looked at Yuna "could i bother you for a cure spell, it would appear that whilst making a complete fool of myself it got broke" he announced, a self mocking tone was obvious in his voice.
 
"Uh.. Lady Yuna, a summoner once trained his blitzball skills here before right? What was his name already?" She asked, curiosity a heavy tone used. Sera said, Lady Yuna responded, "These steps was where High Summoner Ohalland used to train here over 200 years ago." When she started to walk up the steps, she her a 'thud' as Stephen wound up tripping up on the steps and falling onto the steps. "could i bother you for a cure spell, it would appear that whilst making a complete fool of myself it got broke". Yuna laughed and then cast a cure spell, fixing his nose and stopping the bleeding. She continued to climb up the steps until some priests ran down screaming "AHHH!!! SINSPAWN!!!" Which caused Yuna to run up the stairs to encounter Sinspawn Geneaux, who came out of the ground and causing Havoc.
