I'm currently downloading this song and all the singing really sucks. It gets on my nerves. They should've just stuck with Rammstien to remix this song or used no vocals at all.

Black Mages have been out for a WHILE, folks. X)

I've listened to two of their released albums. They are fine pieces of work, where Uematsu joyfully "modernizes" what we would consider midi-music now. I can't say I have a favorite, but I do enjoy The Skys Above.
 
Hmm, I've heard of the Black Mages...but haven't heard any of their music yet. I'm now going to download some on limewire. =)

Yeah, a great rock band indeed, I loved the ff7 battle theme song they did. Also, Laguna's battle theme was pretty cool. I only have three songs by them though, I should go check them out much more.
 
i like their FF8 remakes like Maybe I'm a Lion, Man With the Machine Gun and Force Your Way, but i hate their remake of otherworld XP it was bad. i haven't heard any of the others though
 
Mr Uematsu now works for Mistwalker, a company made by Hironubu Sakaguchi, Mr Uematsu, Eric Feng, and recall the name of the others.
But we all hope that the Black Mages come again.

P.S.: My favorites are Maybe I'm A Lion, Clash on The Big Bridge, Battle With The Four Fiends and Vamo'alla Flamenco.
And don't forget,The Black Mages made the FFVIIAdvent Children OST too, beside other games.
 
only song i know is advent: one winged angel, have to say they're good...
but it's not the type i want to hear a whole album from, for that i stay with good ol' fashioned hip-hop...

I love Black Mages man. My favorite song is definatly Those Who Fight Further from VII I love it. Oh yeah and of course Vamo' Alla Flamenco from IX.
I dont like their version of Otherworld as much the original was way better with the hardcore vocals.

I have both of their albums and personally I love there songs, all of them, apart from their Otherworld theme! theirs another band like this called, umm i cant remember, but they do metriod prime, much the same stuff.
 
I absolutely love this band, but, wtf happened to 'to Zanarkand', one of my favourite piano pieces, and they did 'the skies above' to it :sad:

Has there seriously been no news about this on the forum. I think the black mages are epic in every way. Turning final fantasy music into tech metal and whatnot. It appeals to those who didn't enjoy the piano collections (which I also love).


I think it's being released in japan on march 19th so who knows when it'll hit out shores :(
