Leon sat on a nearby doorstep, at the arranged meeting place. About 5 paces to his left two Chocobos were tied. Their squawking attracting a little attention from the passers by. He looked at them. They had taken the better part of the last two hours for him to find, and it hadn't gone smoothly.
At first he realized that he had no money. Secondly he didn't have the time to fetch some. Thirdly the only Chocobo dealer in town he could find wasn't willing to accept anything other than Gil in hand. Although Leon would never normally steal, this time he was desperate. The actual theft was very simple. All he did was use a little powder to set fire to the dealer's cloak, and away he went, two Chocobos in hand.
It was the next bit that had really tested Leon. The Chocobos simply didn't want to go. They tussled with him, with each other, nipping at butting. They were even aggressive towards other people on the streets. In the end Leon had to tie up their beaks, and put a cloth (which some helpful passer-by had lent him) over their eyes. After that they calmed down.
Now he had been waiting there for a minute. After tieing them to a post, he removed the cloths. At once they had started trying to pull away again. Leon just sat there, just out of claw's reach. Just typical of me to pick the most unruly Chocobos in Spira...I just can't wait to try and ride one... he thought.
