Takk, you forgot about FFIX in your rant - that game has never been ported to another system. XP

You sure? I thought it was released on the PC, the same as FF7 and FF8...
... still, one more to the list doesn't amount to much difference.

And yeah... I guess that was a big rant, eh? I'm jsut sick of people accusing businesses of greed when they make a good business decision... and whether or not we, as fans, likethe decision or not... its a damn good business decision on their part. As far as I'm concerned, anything that makes Final Fantasy bring in more cash is a good thing, becsue that means more games will come out faster. Its one of those thigns that businesses do, you know?

SE is just going where the market is going, that's it. 360 has a few thousand more units in the US, the PS3 has a few more units in Europe, it's LOGIC, not betrayal. i bet this is the a similar reaction to when Final Fantasy VII moved from Nintendo to Sony for the fact that A. the PS1 was selling like no tomorrow, and B. more space i.e, DISCS. This time, it's attracting MORE players to the market. It's a decision based on making more money because of the production cost of the games and the realisation of the world markets and getting more fans.

IMHO they have made a really good choice. The ONLY factor in this is disc capacity for the 360, graphically it's fine, perfectly capable even, just don't expect the game to come on one disc.

It IS NOT a sellout, it's a change of the market strategy. both console still have A LOT of multiplatform games, so i can't see the PS3 having a terrible library of games at all, we ALL have tastes...

360 has a few thousand more units in the US,

The numbers that I've seen have said the difference is close to 5-6 million units or so which is about twice the potential market of what the PS3 offers, when you think of it in that way it makes a lot more sense to do this.

There shouldn't be any bitching about this in the first place, it's stil coming out on the PS3.

I actually think that's good....

Now, if I want to play XIII, I don't have to even think about how much I don't want to get a PS3. I'd actually quite like a 360 so this is gooood news. ^_^

yeah, my bad, that figure was probably based on current sales numbers per month, not overall, but yes, it IS still coming to PS3, so i can't complain.

But what if you wanted FFXIII Versus, which is for sure, a PS3 exclusive? Bit buggered there, seeing as there's a potential FF title you would want to purchase.

If you seriously need to have that then you buy a PS3. If you're just wanting FFXIII and not too fussed with Versus then you have a choice of either getting it on a 360 or a PS3.

Mm. :P But no game will eeeever make me want to get a PS3. So it's better to have something than nothing on a 360. =P

None of this pointless politics concerns me. Why? Because I'm going to buy a Playstation 3, play Final Fantasy XIII on it regardless and fucking enjoy it. It matters not what other system its coming out on, it matters not if the PS3 may end up with the same fate as the Dreamcast, and it matters not if people think SE have sold out.

FFXIII is on its way bitches, get psyched. :)

FFIX? It was suppose to be on the PC but they canceled it.

Doesn't anyone remember that this isn't the first FF game that will be on the Xbox? Seems like most of you are forgetting that FFXI is on the Xbox 360 as well.

FFvXIII will probably be out months/year or so later after FFXIII is released. Which is mostly likely 2010/2011 since FFXIII will be out in 2009. By that time, Playstation 3 will probably drop in price.

Not to mention Square Enix can change their mind anytime they want. If Square sees that FFXIII (Xbox 360) is selling well in the West they might likely released FFvXIII on the 360 as well.

As for multiple disks? Who said so? Oblivion, The Orange Box, and Grand Theft Auto IV were all one disk games on Xbox 360. The Orange Box was FIVE games on one disk. Half Life 2, Half Life 2: Episode 1, Half Life 2: Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress. Most likely FFXIII will be on one disk.

By the way, Oblivion and GTA IV were both sandbox games, both huge detailed worlds. That's a lot for one disk to hold.

I'm not really disappointed. I've got both a PS3 and 360, so this doesn't affect me personally. With all the rumors circulating about which platform(s) FFXIII would be appearing on, I suspected something like this would go down. I'm still a bit surprised, though.

At least we'll have some Xbox Live achievements to shoot for. Yay.

It really just depends on how big they make the game. I mean, Lost Odyssey is on the 360 and takes up 4 HD-DVDs.

I don't really care if it's on the 360 or not, I still have a PS3 and I can still buy it so whatever. It just means more people can play the game, and if Versus is still a PS3 exclusive, it might entice 360 owners to buy a PS3 to play that.

As for multiple disks? Who said so?

The SquareEnix president was asked about it at the Press Conference yesterday, and he said they hadn't figured out how many discs it would be on the 360, yet, indicating that it would likely be more than one.

I'm acutally quite happy about this. Now I don't have to go out and spend close to $500 on a PS3 just to play one game. I'd much rather buy a 360 rather than a PS3.

I don't see what the big deal is any way. I mean, maybe Final Fantasy will acquire more fans this way. And now the game is available to more people.

And none of us have played XIII yet. For all we know, it could really suck. ;)

A 40 GB (and the newly announced core 80 GB) PS3 costs barely $50 more than a 360, and it will allow you to play both FFXIII and FFvXIII... people don't seem to understand that PS3's don't cost $600 anymore.

ARE YOU KIDDING?! i found out a few minutes ago, and i've got to say that this is the WORST thing community.

I could almost guarantee that if FFXIII had stayed on PS3, we would have seen a spike in sales. I can say that i was planning on buying a PS3 solely for FFXIII.

Sony is going to hurt bad because of this. and microsoft will have an even bigger monopoly on the gaming industry. sony is turning into nintendo. and it's freaking killing me.

square's done this in the past. they switched over to the PSone for ffVII. what i don't get is the reasoning. years ago, it was because the disc format allowed for more power and more info. it created a better game that cartridge ever could (FFVII rocked). what i don't understand is the motive this time around. PS3 is by FAR the better system. it has more capabilities and more capacity then the 360. so why put it on the 360 at all? the only thing microsoft has to offer is the extensive live options. and we all know what happened last time square tried to go online (FFXI sucked). so WHY i ask! WHY!!!??

could it be? could...could square have...dare i say it? sold out? did they really opt to make an xbox version of 13 in order to get more SALES?!

I, for one, am outraged. needless to say, sell your sony stocks now.

did they really opt to make an xbox version of 13 in order to get more SALES?!

That's pretty much it and I'm sure SE went and admitted that themselves more than once. They're a business with the primary aim to make money, the quicker people just grow up and accept that the better.

Yeah...Square Enix Is Getting Bad About this stuff.i was really hopeing to see this on the 360.It whould have been better cause seeing MORE people have a xbox 360 then a PS3.It whould have gotten square more money if it was for the 360.
It's really quite upsetting...
