PC Dawn Of War

gdgd, because i wanted to make sure it would run on my laptop :) thanks

i now cannot wait to get it lol should be fun to play when i have free time in college, IF i have free time in college lol

Had a game a couple of days ago that had lag so bad that the game was an hour and a half long but the timer said it was 34 minutes. Did quite well as IG although my partner was also IG and the biggest threat was a Necron/Chaos combo which isn't to our advantage. The Nec was a complete noob but the Chaos' aircraft were anti-vehicle and ripped my tanks apart.

I love the Kasrkin and Ogryn squads though.

sounds like an tense battle with plenty of killing in it lol with any luck i might be able to get online for some games when i get it, should be good maybe we could team up some time

Let me just say Space Marines are the best hand down.Although there the only ones i used so far lol.

I might have to try them then somehow i always use the space marines cause there cool.

^ Short trailer showing off the lovely graphics in action. Also shows off the 3 confirmed races for the game: Space Marines, Orks and Eldar.

^ E3 Cinematic which looks pretty awesome, gives hint of the fourth race for the game. Chaos or Tyranids perhaps?

I would be up for that, if you're ever back on then just say something and I'll look into getting a few games with you or anyone here. I've got a couple of other people who'll be up for that too.

Hooray! Tyranids are finally there.

Boooo! Chaos seem to have been removed.

Stupid vanilla Space Marines, if it's those damn Blood Ravens again...

But yeah, I should be getting a new pc in the next couple of months, hopefully one which will be able to run Soulstorm without stuttering at the options screen! So I'll be up for having my ass handed to me online sometime soon.

I don't mind losing online but when I usually do it's usually in a way which makes me wanna cry in my sleep, I tend to make games 2v2v2v2 to try and prevent one-sided confrontations which generally work ok.

I'm back to playing the odd game of DC online these days since SS still hasn't been patched yet which is a bitch. But the beta to DoW2 will be available to those who have the game so some worth is still in it for now.

Bit of a mega-bump, but with good cause!
As Scrutator mentioned; if you're interested the multiplayer beta for DOW2 is open as of now for people who purchased the SoulStorm expansion to the original. You can get it through Steam by activating SoulStorm as one of your games.

Just had enough time to play around with the Eldar for one match, but I'm liking what I see. A good deal different from previous with a streamlined feel to accomodate some of the new stuff but definitely seems good so far. I'll probably try out the Tyranids tomorrow after some sleep and work.

I've put in like 10 hours into the Beta now, still going with the Space Marines since I'm not too sure how tot play the other races as of yet. Also Assault Terminators = awesomesauce. Orks are fun as always too.

I'm not doing too great at all with the whole winning aspect but I'm starting to get the hang of the game and change of pace now, just wish I had 2 other people with me rather than one and another who camps around one point. 1v1 is pretty much useless, the game was made to be balanced in 3v3 so just play those.

Anyone who has played CoH will know how this works, its all about point control, if you're not being pro-active and moving forward harassing, uncapping, capping etc you're going to lose. Keeping your troops alive is far more important than it was before as well, it's probably the only RTS I've played that I've had no desire to turtle unless its to hold a valuable VP.

Game looks lovely as well, special abilities like the Orbital Strike are sweet as hell and the units look pretty great even on low.

Last thing for people is pre-order special stuff, depending on where you get the game you can get a code where ytou can unlock extra gear for your Space Marines, new colours for the Army Painter amongst other things. Details through ther link below.

Been playing DoW Soul storm for 7 months now and im still playing it since its a pretty good game except the fact that space marines and chaos space marines are overpowered atleast how I use them.I got DoWII the other day and I got on it but it took me about 30 mins to actually get into a game offline or online and well there were no chaos space marines or maybe i didnt look right since i saw just space marines, eldar, orks, and someother one but i forgot the name. The graphics are the shit on it though I went crazy.XD

There's no Chaos in this, they probably wanted to keep the number of races down to 4 to make it easier to balance the game and also since Chaos are a bit similar to SM and also lots of people wanted Tyrannids so all this resulted in Chaos being dropped.

I'm sure we'll see them in the expansions anyway.

Going to wait until I get the game itself, it's fun but not enough of my friends have it yet so it's not worth purchasing atm.

Chaos seemed a bit too overpowered atleast how i was able to use them the obliterators were too strong and were quick to get.As for the bloodthirster same too much hp and took too much power.Combine a chaos squad with the chaos lord and you got an unstoppable team.Should have taken out orks cause they suck the most.

Bloodthirster which loses hp when it's not in direct melee combat and recovers at a slower rate than Avatar...
Okay, so the Avatar is arguably the most powerful relic unit ( at least from what I saw ) but Bloodthirster's by no means broken, nor Chaos as such. If there were no limits on Possesed Marines then I'd agree. And Bloodthirster was great for taking down buildings, turrets were gone in a second or so.

A Mandrake rush from the DE seemed harder to deal with from me, I couldn't find a way around it and I felt dirty winning with it.
