Most likely, since Vaan is super, mega, ultra popular in Japan.

4 more would be all but FF2 and FF1 getting characters. Nomura has said not every single title will get another partner. Considering FF2/FF1, I doubt they'll get any. FF5, FF6, FF8 and FF9 would be the lasts. But, as I said before, Nomura would be an idiot if he just followed the above character.

I believe Siefer (?) will be the next, and then someone from 9 and that's the end of all new characters.

I certainly hope not and Celes (Or Edgar!) will be in for FF6, and Faris for FF5.

Im guessing Nomurya is playing mindgames, much like he did with original dissidia roster, he wants to keep some cards close to his chest and i doubt they will be revealed until the game is practically on its release date, im guessing he may be doing so as he might be trying to sneak in some Versus and Agito characters in such as Noctis, much like he tried to do with Light in dissidia 1?

I guess we will know more for certain as more of the roster becomes availible.

I doubt he'd lie about it in a interview. He said a few, but if he does lie about it in interview, yea! More characters. :x3:

Would it be silly to expect them to end up balancing it again somehow? I know we are not to expect characters for every game, but would we be getting extra villains for every extra character? Or perhaps if one game has a hero, another game will have a villain?

If that latter is true then perhaps we'll have:

Heroes:
FFIV- Kain
FFVII- Tifa
FFXII- Vaan
FFXIII: Lightning

Villains-
FFXII - Vayne
FFV - Gilgamesh?
FFXIII - Barthandelus?
FFIX - Beatrix? / FFVIII - Seifer / Edea? / FFX - Seymour?

While it wouldn't keep the games balanced (which Nomura has thrown out of the window), it'll still keep the two orders balanced.



EDIT:
I just checked FF Wikia and both Vayne and Tifa are no longer listed as playable characters... What's going on there? I thought that Tifa at least was a definite?

Not necessarily, would they have to add more villains.

Like Tifa. She was given into a game that already has a villain. I don't think its about evening it out really, not that I don't expect the baddy from 13 to appear, just saying.

Gil, hm...I don't think he'll be added. There were some other villains, but in order for him to be added, a hero would have to be picked. Kain isn't really evil, so...if they picked Faris, they would pick the next villain.

I think the sides will always end up uneven any, since some games won't get any characters at all...

But, this seems pretty "Nomura/SE"ish.

Or perhaps if one game has a hero, another game will have a villain?

Maybe that'll happen. I just want to see Celes or Edgar. No more thieves, no more ninjas! I want to see characters from the old games that have yet to be represented in new graphics lol

Nomura would have made thousands happy by simply adding a download section to download any character they wanted. That would have been awesome. :x3:
 
If Tifa isnt a playable character I just lost hope for this game. So please tell me that isnt true Argie :sad2: I always wanted to play as her..
 
Argor251, I want to tell you not to trust FFwikia. They are wrong about Vayne and a few past things, so don't trust them :/ They put whatever in there, like last year when Lightning was said to be in Tuning, they added it without checking or waiting. So um...just be careful. :)

Tifa of course, will be a playable character. People played her and Kain at the game show ^,^

Don't worry Aya, she's playable, or downloadable to be playable. :D
 
Actually Gilgamesh is one of the most likely characters to appear in the game, this was due to Nomurya wanting to include him, which makes a lot of sense due to it being a seperate universe with lots of different "weapons" Gilgamesh being able to travel to other worlds, universes, etc would probably find his way there, would he be playable from the offset? Highly unlikely I think he if anything will be a secret unlockable character.

Edit: Also to note many fans, including myself were pretty pissed that Gilgamesh was only a summon in dissidia one, in a game that would be PERFECT for him.

His EX-Mode would be pretty easy too: Undead Gilgamesh for alternate costume, and for main costume, drawing the sword of legend while yelling out "BEHOLD THE SWORD OF LEGEND!" :wacky: his Ex-Burst could be similar to his FFVIII summon but in a roulette fashion (as to give a nod to the death joker) where you press to slow the roulette and it picks a sword, anything from the Zantetsuken to Excalipoor.

Re-Edit: To further add, its HIGHLY possible Gilgamesh may be Lightning's Rival due to her wielding Odins blades, and we all know how much Gilgamesh loves his swords :lew:

They had sources to back the Vayne rumour up though... Granted the sources weren't good. I don't take Twitter to be that reliable either. :D

Someone probably just deleted Tifa because they assumed that she was a rumour, but we have had screenshots taken to state otherwise.



I personally think that Gilgamesh has a high chance, but if he isn't added then that wouldn't surprise me. SE have a habit of not giving people what they really want, or even what SE themselves really want. Nomura has apparently said that he'd love Gilgamesh in a Dissidia sequel, so hopefully this comes true.

If they had heroes from a few games and villains from others then that would be a compromise that I'd be willing to accept (with great sorrow). If it really is as stands then I'm not pulled to buying this. It's just not enough to consider this a sequel. It wouldn't be so bad if they'd changed the graphics or updated the maps a little bit.


If they don't balance the heroes and villains then this isn't going to be appear to be a struggle at all. Sure, the game will be as difficult as it was before, but the storyline wouldn't be. We'd know that the heroes would whoop villain ass with much more ease than the previous game. It's really uneven and unfair.

This happens a lot, so I won't be surprised either. I hope for a FF5 or FF6 remake every game show, but nothing. So if they add Gil, then I won't be surprised much. :ryan:

Oh yeah Gilgamesh is in there for sure He has been stated to a sure thing if there were a Dissidia sequel.........and there is so there he is.

Well Gilgamesh is probably the most recurring character of the series and also one of the best loved in both the east and west, even if they add him as an unplayable secret boss i think it would be enough to appease some people. Gilgamesh is actually more popular than (dare i say it?) Cloud and Sephiroth in the east so of all the character I would put money on to make some sort of appearance, it would be Gilgamesh.

Even if hes not if they just re-released the original Dissidia with the Assist system, it would be worth it. But there not and we get some of the better FF characters to play as this time around.
 
Gilgamesh would be...interesting. I do think he'd be a secret/optional character of some sort as Shaun said though.

I'm just wondering about the rosters and how they're doing it, are they just adding one cosmos/one chaos to each FF or what? :hmmm:

Hey...that would actually be really awesome to have him as a boss fight. I remember my encounter with him in FF5, so funny. :kelly:

Well now I want him in the game, but I don't want to lose the spot for the possibility of Faris, Celes or Edgar. :(

I'm conflicted now. >.>
