Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

Hey...that would actually be really awesome to have him as a boss fight. I remember my encounter with him in FF5, so funny. :kelly:

Well now I want him in the game, but I don't want to lose the spot for the possibility of Faris, Celes or Edgar. :(

I'm conflicted now. >.>

Gilgamesh is a Villain so he would definatley be Chaos affiliated xD

I don't care about Gilglemesh and Tifa I just want to see Genesis in it. Maybe he could be kind of loke Sephiroth in the first game, a villain but not incredibly interested in the conflict. The biggest problem with that though is that they would have to include Zack on the hero side or make a third side along with the Chaos and Cosmos warriors in it.

Its hard to say?

Weve seen the both Chaos & Cosmos minions interacting with each other,............:awesome: I just had an excellent idea......What if the Assist system allows you to play as Cloud & Sephiroth :awesome:

On the same team.....that would be epic!(in the traditional sense of the word, not the bastardized version of the day)

I assume this assist system (not really heard any details) will have certain rules to it, probably only assistance is enabled to the same side (Cosmos/Chaos) although i'm kinda doubting it.

As for FFVII's Chaos villain, Genesis is an idea since there's not really many others to go off. I would like Reno though.

Check the teaser site, they list the current playable characters and there assist combos on the 2nd TGS 2010 link, its all in Japanese but it shows Cloud and Sephiroth have paired assist combos.

Archeon:
Well, he could be both, or just a hidden boss. I didn't really see him all that bad in FF5.:awesome:

Blasting Zone:
Why him? :<

Well, only three for 7: Cloud, Tifa and Sephiroth. It would unbalance and upset whatever nature Nomura has going, if he threw another 7 character in....

Wasn't there a screenshot of Terra being helped by Kefka fighting Cloud? :d

I posted the images in this thread too, if you can't get the site to load right now....like I can't lol

I dont see Genesis making it in for several reasons:

  1. He is a villain from a spinoff, no spinoffs have thusfar been placed into the dissidia universe, only main titles
  2. His fighting style would be too similar to Sephiroth or Clouds, with his Ex-Mode being pretty close to Sephiroths, SE thusfar have tried there best to avoid carbon copy characters
  3. If Zack, who is currently looking very unlikely doesnt make it in, chances are neither will Genesis, Zack wont make it in because of being too similar to Cloud.
  4. If he was in without Zack, he would feel too "tacked" on to appease fans, which would probably spoil it for several people.
My shortlist of who I expect will make it in:

Gilgamesh
Beatrix
Steiner
Celes (if she wasnt made before, because of the booming fanbase she likely will be getting made right now)
Balthier
Yuna
Seymour
Zeromus (secret boss or final boss)

Who I dont think will make it:

Vivi (as much as i love the little guy, i dont think he will make it because of shantotto and onion knight)
Zack
Genesis
Rinoa (with Tifa in, I dont see Rinoa getting in, dunno why i just dont see her making it in)
Vincent
Faris (it'll be either be her or Celes, my money is on Celes)

Gilgamesh could really be either. He's not quite a villain, but isn't a hero either. He has honour and a code he abides by, and he does respect and offer help to the heroes of FFV by the end of it. He just may end up on the side of Chaos because he did initially start off on the opposing side.

It'll be a bit like Jecht. He wasn't really a villain in FFX, despite his beasty-lion form being fought at the end. At least he wasn't a villain to my eyes. I viewed him as a hero instead.

I think that for the sake of balance it would make sense for Gilgamesh (if he was to be added) to be on the side of Chaos.

Gilgamesh will also be likely on the side of Chaos, as Chaos/Cosmos allignment mirrors the soul and actions of the character, thus placing them on a side, which can often put Shade of Grey characters (Golbez and Jecht) on the Chaos side.

Gilgamesh, may have been a hero but the means to reach his end are what will have him sided as a villain, he will do anything to get what he wants, thus placing him as a selfish individual, and his ruthless nature would see him fall to the side of Chaos.

P.S: something tells me, Kain could be the first Dual Sided, or Side Switching character judging from the footage.

That's what I was thinking about the spin-off as well lol

Nice list, Beatrix is awesome and so is Steiner. But only one will make it into Dissidia I bet.

Celes would be nice, and I hope because of Dissidia, the fanbase for FF6 and Celes, increased like it did for Terra. After Dissidia, Terra fans came ah-boomin'. So here's hoping it applies to Celes as well.

@Argor251:
Yea, he's more neutral. Just like I have a feeling Gabranth will be converted to good in Dissidia 2 like in 12 and He will help with the other character from 12, if there is and Vayne will be the evil one.

last thing ill add to the disscussion for tonight, classic music that will likely make it in, this post will be linkarific, but again these are the tunes im guessing will come in:

Esper Battle FFXII
Neo ExDeath FFV
Grand Cross FFIX
The Chocobo theme

probably many more as well, just a few im reckoning will make it in the "classics" list
The Esper battle theme would be nice, so would the Neo Ex-Death song.

I just recently started 9, so hearing the Grand Cross song was pretty amazing. :x3:

This is why I think VIII is gonna get left out. The most probable characters in FF8 that could work are Seifer and Edea, and they'd supposedly be carbon copies. They could have a different fighting style for Seifer though, which is plausible, because his stance, and the way he attacks is different to the way Squall does. Same thing with Edea. Her attacks were more ice based than time based, so I can see a whole different moveset for her... involving ice based melee attacks with her creepy claw hands etc, heck, they COULD do something that would make her back thingie attack. and her EX burst could be her Ice Strike from the Parade cutscene. Seifer's could be
like how he defeated Odin.

I REALLY have never seen Rinoa as a possibility. Her weapon is highly impractical, and you never saw much of her sorceress power ingame either. the ONLY way I can see her working is if the pinwheel weapon could be used as a melee, although, with Tifa in, it would be to similar...

I actually always thought Selphie could work too, her Nunchaku would be a really neat addition to the game. Her EX burst could be her Slot, where several spells would come up and she'd do them, and if you got a perfect, she could use The End.

Quistis although I LOVE her, would be difficult, but not impossible, IF they did her whip attacks in a manner similar to Ivy from Soul Calibur. EX Burst could be done like OK's, and a certain combination leads to a perfect which would be Shockwave Pulsar, or Micro Missiles :hmmm:

Zell would be a Tifa clone, so no. and Irvine... he just would not work... I don't see guns working in DFF

tl;dr version,

Edea and Seifer could have different fighting styles than Squall and Ultimecia, Selphie and Quistis COULD work.

Guys....I am being told, right now something stupid!

Did you know this is a prequel? :gonk:

How does that even make sense! How can they lose 13 times and this be the 12th battle of their "lose/win"?

Nomura has to be the craziest person who makes the silliest of games.

This game is being called the prequel before number 1, number 1 being the last battle in which they finally won after losing 13 times.

So, they all are forgetting each other? Which explains Mateus' "All the Warriors of Cosmos that pass through the pain from battles, but no on can remember anything about it"" thing?

If Nomura has done this, he is a fool!

Here's a description other than my own.

The Original Dissida was the 13th War between Chaos and Cosmos....

Dissidia Duodecim (12) will resolve around the timeline of the 12th war, right before the original Dissidia happened, there u go >.> that's how it can happen.

it was stated that "While being a sequel the game will be a prequel"

that is because

Sequel: it is the second RELEASED Dissidia game, so the disc is a sequel to the original dissidia
Prequel: The STORY MODE (plot) will revolve around the war RIGHT BEFORE the war in the original dissidia, it will be the 12th Chaos/Cosmos War. thus it is a prequel since Dissidia (Original) was the 13th war.

How far outside of the the top2 Characters to choose DouDecim fighters, I dont think Slehie and Quistis and there counterparts from other games be in line for anything more than a Bonus character type of position.

Most of the FFVII crew would work, Vincent Yes, Cid Yes, Yuffie Yes even Barrett.
You have to look at the characters original fighting style to determine if they are going to be in dissidia.

Ideally the game revolves around Fast action and Magic users are not that gifted at speed look at wha they had to do to Terra to give her close combat......if you try that with most other magic based characters you would end up changing there fighting style to much.

Sqaull and Seifer are worlds apart in terms of combat style in D1 Sqaull was given a more 1 handed style to mimic that of Seifer.......you may not know this but when Sqaull uses his EX Bust Renzokuken every hit in that combo is 1 handed......no Joke 1 handed.

If they alter this to include Squalls initial 2 handed and accentuate Seifers 1 handed style it may end up being more similar to Sephiroth.

Edit:Terra the hell did you get that from? they lost 12 times........huh?:wacky:

So, did everyone but me know this is a prequel and not a sequel? Because all the interviews said sequels, but its actually a prequel.

What is going on in Nomura/Se's head?

Rediculous!........thats why I didnt pay much attention to D1's story and just enjoyed the battles, highly annoying.
I paid attention.

This was a horrible plot twist, horrible I say!

The only thing in the first released Dissidia, aka the last Dissidia, that points to the past, is the flashback of Gabranth and Shanny! But no, SE and Nomura wanted to try and make it a epic story split up like the Star Wars films.

Fail.

Okay its a fucking prequel now? Though how would that make sense from the original Dissidia? I mean Cosmos is alive if you get all the reports and shit. Oh wow this is so fucking weird. It is 100% a prequel now? Is that the spoiler behind 012? Oh wow... Let us put this simple in a short statement: So there are 13 wars in Dissidia but now they just make a prequel on the 12th one? What about all the other wars?

Yup! Nomura officially cannot make a game.

Cosmos is alive because this war has happened a separate 13 times. The twelve being this game, hence the name "12". The reason Nomura didn't want to go into detail of the name, is because it released spoilers. The spoilers is the fact this is a prequel because the Dissidia game we have already, is the end of the series, not the end of the start of the next game -- the end of the end.

Now, this means all these new old characters, are either dead, or have been teleported back to where ever they came from.

Mateus talks about it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il8MwKoSuEE

He says that the warriors have lost so many times, yet they can't recall it. Now, if you read all the Cosmos reports and Chaos reports, it backs it.

Crazy a** garbage, I know!
