Sorta new update!

Main points are -
Yes, this is a prequel dealing with the 12th war of Dissidia.

There is more to this game than just new characters - the new elements help to make the game fresh.

To quell everyone's concerns, Nomura assures us that Kain is on Cosmos' side.

Characters weren't picked to necessarily balance the Cosmos and Chaos sides but rather who would be interesting to play as, who could have a compelling drama, and who is popular.

Characters can have up to 4 costumes including DLC.

They are still working on what to let you transfer from Dissidia.

A random thought but I kinda get the feeling that FFIII is one of the games they'll probably skip over. It would've been cool if Arc or Ingus was in it, but I highly doubt that they'll add one of main characters from the DS remake of FFIII. T__T
 
I would like to see Setzer appear in Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy. I think he will be a great character to add in this great fighting game. Also Rinoa and Seifer would make a great selection as well. I think it would impact us alot if they were added to the roster.

I am interested in the fact they are actually adding DLC in for this Dissidia. Characters and costumes for DLC makes me want to get the game now xD I want to see what they will do with the costumes though for dlc. Please just not a change of colors :hmph:

Probably, but he did say older costumes would be edited as well. And then Cloud's KH costume is enough to believe he won't ruin it by just colorations...

I dunno, she might still get in since they changed Gabranth's VA (at least in the english version) so I doubt having the original VA is a need with new characters, just a preference :wacky:
 
I did like Mayuko Aoki as Yuna's VA. But I don't think it'll be that much of a problem to find her a new VA because there are alot of great Japanese VA's out there. I did like Hedy Buress as Yuna's English VA and I do hope that if Yuna does happen to get in, I hope they keep her as her English VA.

Well, I guess there's another chance she won't be in it. Darn it! :C

Hm, regarding the information about it being the most popular of characters in the most popular of FF games, I think someone from "9" or "8" will appear :/

Oh well that is actually better I find. So now they will be all scattered around randomly. Tis is what I thought was going to happen at first. Besides it is pretty cool now that they arent doing hero/villian fights from specific FF's.
 
Eh, I expected as much, They said not to expect one new character for each game, so for there to be TWO from a new game (i.e. FFXIII) would've been odd.

Oh well, Raines would've been nice, but I still prefer Lightning over him, and I'll just keep hoping for Seifer :awesome:
 
It's a good chance to expect something like half and half, alternating heroes and villaisn, probably not including 1, 2 and 3. With 4, 7, 12 and 13 so far spoken for.. we might get villians from 5, 6, 8, and 9. It would go alone with Nomura's recent statement of more than 4-5 extra characters, but not a full roster.
 
I guess if it goes popular, and it might be from 8 or 9... I'd guess either Seifer, Vivi or Beatrix tbh :hmmm: /no bias obv
 
So no one's going to be paired with a specific hero or villian this time?
I kinda like that idea. I expected something like that to happen since not every game will get a character. Kinda balances things out a little, I think.

No Chaos vs. Cosmos matchups? What?
 
They could also throw in DLC, I wouldn't put it past them tbh :dave:

It's a bit pointless throwing characters in for the sake of it though, if you have the originaly cast plus more and each of them have to be paired, you'd end up with a dozen or so characters that have no relevance at all.

FFXIII only has Barthandelus as a villain anyway, and he'd be shit tbf.
 
This news could be good or bad...

On the one hand it could be really cool that they are giving us characters which would be interesting to see in Dissidia, as opposed to being required to have to use characters which aren't as interesting just to match two more people from each game. It could be cool if they just give us a relatively decent selection of cool characters which would be fun to play as.

On the other hand, they may just give us only a few extra characters, and use the "no need to pair people up" as an excuse for not including as many new characters as they really should be including.
 
I imagine that they'll just have the new characters go against a villain from their repective game instead of having a opposite rival. For Example: I think Tifa and Cloud will both be rivals with Sephiroth within the story mode.
 
At the very beginning of the trailer Lightning talks about how all those Manikins are the enemies. So I suppose that's the initial plot of the game; fighting off the massive number of those crystal imitations.

Then I guess things start to fall apart between them (Kain goes badass, WoL and Lightning fight with each other), they find out that Chaos is behind it, blah blah blah, some of the characters leave, leads onto the first Dissidia.

That's what I think will happen :hmmm:
