Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

I hope not. I found the crystalline manikins pretty lame in the original Dissidia. They just didn't feel right at all, and they didn't take much to defeat.

I guess that the manikins could find themselves being integrated more into the story this time, with Lightning perhaps fearing or hating the crystalline state of them, similar to
L'Cie who have fulfilled their purpose and are turned to crystal

I think the whole 'no one new is paired off with someone else new' is addressing the fact that some games may not have a very meaningful matches against each other, considering the main hero/villain are already included. Who would be Tifa's enemy? Her main beef was with Sephiroth if you consider the Nibelheim incident, and basically being with Cloud throughout the whole of the game and experiencing everything as much as he did.

With Kain, he has equal beef with both Cecil and Golbez. Vaan (if included), well.. is a bit of a lack luster character but I suppose has beef with Gabranth. And since he was already included, and a semi secret character, no point in bringing in another.
 
No, there will still be Cosmos vs Chaos, they're just saying (like when Nomura said not every game will have a complete roster of characters) not every new character will have a new opposite character. Like how we got Tifa and Lightning, so we may not see new villains from VII and XIII.
 
I peferred the whole equal sides in each game, so its kind of annoying that they're gonna mess the whole pattern up..... But on a HUGE bright side, Tifa's in it, all i need now is for Yuna to be in it and Vaan to not be in it and i'm happy :)
 
I just watched the trailer (how I missed it is beyond me o_O ). The game just looks awesome. The graphics are over the top and seeing WOL without his helmet was sexy. Lightning looks awesome in battle and I look forward to using her. I can't wait for some more news and trailers!!

How else do you get about games? can your excitement last until the release date?

Of course there will be sides, other wise its just a bunch of people fighting each other for the sake of it, of Tifa and Light........the more exciting prospect lies with Tifa I think she is a fan favorite and Light, well she has a lot to make up for some might say.

Im not 1 of them some I like her character as I do all the FFXIII characters.

Fang in Dissida2........:awesome:, she wont be though.........oh well.

So nothing new at the moment, but some interesting scenes from the trailer:

Kuja seems... good at first. He's speaking to Zidane in a friendly manner and Bartz says 'Zidane, is this the guy that doesn't come out a lot, who happens to be another warrior on Cosmos' side?' 8(

I'll edit in some more translations etc once the bloody movie downloads fully...

EDIT: I don't know whether the shortened trailer had this or not, but you can see how the new chase attack looks like from Kain's battle scene. And his Gungnir attack looks so so awesome.

EDIT2: in the scene where Lightning confronts WoL, there's an added part where Light says 'you traitor'. Back-stabbing seems to be happening many times in this game...

The first Dissidia game had a lot of friction between characters at first, even the ones on the same side, so it's interesting to see it again xD

But let's see...WoL a traitor, and Kuja a good guy - oh my. Well, Dissidia isn't canon to any FF games, so what the hell, go nuts :awesome:

But honestly, I suspect a lot of stuff in the trailer is just out of context or even more likely, we don't know enough of the story :hmmm:
 
Oh My Godz... On the website, there's a photo of KAIN WITHOUT HIS HELMET *fangasms* This just increased Dissidia 012's hotness factor to 11 out of a possible 10.

What else is possible? We've already seen Tidus shirtless, and WoL AND NOW KAIN HELMETLESS?!
 
It seems as if they really are mixing it about a bit this time. If some of the villains are good, and some of the heroes are on the side of evil then that could be interesting, or it could be a disaster.

It could also just be taken out of context, and may only be reflecting brief cutscenes where villains help the heroes (such as Golbez helping Cecil in Dissidia 1).

...:monster: But yeah, given how Cloud is standing there in cut scene mode, looks also like to be a part of the story.. then again, there wasn't very much story in the stages to begin with.
 
Now dont yell we went over that yesterday!

Prima Vista is the only Airship you fight on in FFIX, so if they felt inclined to include such a level it would be the best choice.

You fight on the Cargo Ship too, and I think you may also fight on the Invincible while fighting a dragon towards the end of the game.

I would say that Channy has done a good job in identifying this as the Prima Vista though. It does look very much like it, and that is something which is quite exciting for me.

The Prima Vista as a stage is pretty interesting. I wonder how it would work though. They might exaggerate the size of the ship then to compensate for all the running around needed :hmmm:

It may also just be a setting and no actual combat takes place on there what so ever?
