Yeah he'd probably still need some alterations to his voice over , even though Shuyin shares the same voice actor as Tidus.

I can see this as the reason that they have given us topless Tidus, a completely made up costume, rather than give us Shuyin. It'll be too much work for them... Or at least it will be more work in areas like that which they'd rather not have to do.
 
Well Tidus topless as an alternate isn't unreasonable - isn't Sephiroth's alt. costume him topless too? :wacky:

I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing Squall in his Balamb cadet uniform. I actually liked that a lot more than his SeeD outfit.

And on the topic of alt. costumes, that may be a no-no for Seifer as a character then since he only wears the one thing the entire game - unless they give him an adult version of what he wore in KH2 :lew:
 
Topless Tidus is almost as good as regular Shuyin. :ryan:

Although if they just include an alternate costume for Shuyin, even if it's technically.. not him.. I'd fangasm and buy the game.

Shuyin would have been a great character to add. He's so good looking, I mean fast and strong. Even though he's got Tidus weapons (right?) he would be awesome to play as.

I'm am definitely getting this game whenever it comes out. Kain happens to be one of my bishies and the game itself is addicting. I always play against my friends on it, so I'm all for a sequel. c:

Shuyin's weapon is actually different.. it's a blunt, squared off sword that's not really fancy in too many ways, nor really signature... but.. eh, who cares when he looks the way he does, he doesn't need a fancy sword. :awesome:

Can't really expect anything hugely new for a while considering it's just been announced. Lesigh
 
If they were gonna have shuyin in there you woyld assume he would throw Wakkas World Champion blitzball instead of the Official Ball Tidus uses.........I might have just tipped my hand at how FFcentric I am there lol?

Shuyins Sword is Blueish Purple if remember correctly? With a round.........point to the blade
aesthetically it looks ok but the Brotherhood and Galadbolg are much better looking.

Personnaly i don't think Shuyin will be there. But if Yuna is there too, then that may be a possibility.(but i still think that Seymour will be a better choice of villain for FFX)

I think that either Steiner or Vivi would have a bit of a chance, since they both have connections to the Prima Vista from that classic scene when the Prima Vista escapes Alexandria. That's assuming that the new characters are to even have a connection with the new maps.

Oh god please ! I sure hope what you say is true ! Steiner was one of my favorite in FFIX and it would be great if he a new character in Dissidia. Vivi would be nice too but.... well his place was sort of "taken" by Shantotto.(cute little thing who use magic) but anyone had thinked of Black Waltz #3 for a villain choice ?

Someone "who works at Gamestop" commented that Duodecim is available for pre-order and that their system mentions release for April. There's already a url for the game on the USA site:

It says March 31 on the web page, so I'm more inclined to think it's a filler date and it's likely for the date to change, but...oooooooh! So excited ♥

I got some info from a few people who saw the demo at TGS, and the 3P colours of a few characters have supposedly been spotted (note: the links lead to the original pics, not screenshots or anything):

WoL: Original NES style brown armour
Garland: Black armour (Amano style) (I think this is the one they're talking about...)
Emperor: CG version on PS
CoD: blonde (not quite sure of this...)
Squall: Tanktop (Amano style)
Zidane: Pluto armour

Plus the ones of Tidus, Terra and Cloud that we know about.

No real evidence (screenshots, movie etc) to back these up, but quite a few Dissidia discussion sites have this so hopefully these are true. Particularly looking forward to Emperor's new costume if this is to be believed.

Whoa, some real kick-ass music pieces they're adding into Duodecim. Pandemonium sounds awesome (haven't played FF2 enough to hear it in the game D=). I still think "Battle on the Big Bridge" is the best FFV theme, but it makes sense to include a final boss theme for Ex-Death.

But awwww, I was hoping for Saber's Edge as one of the FFXIII themes - I really love it :ness:

Oh well. Blinded by the Light makes sense and Nascent Requiem is alright, if a little over the top. Still great pieces though ^_^
 
I'm stoked about a sequel for dissidia. i have 150 hours in my game between unlocking and buying everything, then since most of my friends have it we always get together for small tournaments and stuff. im going to have a blast with it.
 
It's probably already been mentioned by someone in this 50+ page thread, but I thought I'd mention it anyway - am I the only person who thinks a console Dissidia game would kick ass?

Not only would it allow for a much larger roster of playable characters (if not at launch then as DLC?), but it would support true 'online' matches, rather than having to meet up with someone who actually own a copy, as many people don't have peeps IRL with the game. And perhaps the startling graphical presentation of the first game could be made even more amazing.

While I'm thinking about it, actually, it would be majorly cool to have large-scale multiplayer Dissidia battles, as in, 2-on-2 or free-for-all's. Would just make the battles more epic and more hectic, and means that even the more skilled players could be given a run for their money - a flaw I discovered in the original was that more highly skilled players could just trap the other player in a repetitive cycle of attacks and totally waste them. This way players would have to watch their backs even while kicking butt, and the team-play options could help prevent ganging-up, maybe by preventing friendly fire?


A bit more on-topic, I'm actually pretty stoked to see what other supporting characters over than Lightning, Kain and Tifa appear. I actually kind of missed the lack of a Seifer to foil Squall, so maybe he'll be an additional villain.
I just hope lame people like Vaan aren't involved. I'd rather take Quina.
 
Tifa Officially Announced

  • Ex-burst is Slot
  • She doesn't seem to know who Cloud is in the game apparently...


That's all I can make out really, the text is too small. At the end of the Ex-burst there's a massive explosion so I presume it'll be Final Heaven.

But there are 7 slots; surely all of her limit moves can't be used as the Ex-burst? What about her standard Hp attacks? Hopefully there'll be some original attacks to be added.




Also some Vaan news:

The Japanese voice actor for that prick has said on his blog:
"SE! Is Vaan appearing on that new game? I'm waiting..."
Which can either mean: 1) He already knows that Vaan is in and is just getting tired of waiting for SE to announce it OR 2) Vaan isn't in DDFF.

I presume it'll be the first option, seeming as the English guy gave it away. So Vaan's definitely in I reckon.

Great to see Tifa officially announced as a character. I like her art design in Dissidia 012 :ohoho: I knew they would give her the Advent children costume as an alternate though. Her ex burst is slot? Then final heaven? Cool I guess.

He seemed alright in Tactics A2 at least. His design in that game was really cool to boot:

And squee at Tifa's official inclusion. Especially lovin' Nomura's Dissidia design for her (albeit it's pretty much the same from her original design back in FFVII, but still so purty :3)

Her not knowing Sephiroth or Cloud even interests me. I guess in this game's universe she's only connected by Cosmos' will to fight against Chaos? But then what does that say for the other characters? Would Kain not know Cecil then? :hmmm:

I honestly don't care that much about the story in Dissidia, but I really do enjoy the character interactions, especially in such a different context. Some interesting dynamics to see, I tell you what :ryan:
 
In Tactics A2 he had a personality transplant with Balthier :sad3:

If they add Vaan... It better be Vaan's personality :rage: I do like his A2 outfit though, i'll admit :ryan: if he is added I hope it's his alt.

He did such a poor job of trying to be Balthier though. He was cocky and all in that game, but I don't really think he holds any candle to Balthier at all. :dave:

If Vaan is definitely in, I wonder if he's actually relevant to the story this time. :gasp:
