Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

Wasn't Neo-Exdeath in Dissidia anyway as a third track for FF5? :hmmm:

Same with FF9 final battle, unless it's Grand Cross/Necron? :hmmm:

If I remember correctly it was the standard Exdeath track and it was Dark Messenger that was in the first one.

Right, I'm really losing track of what information has been posted already and what hasn't with so many pages, and I'm one of the people too lazy to do some back-reading, so I hope this hasn't shown up yet:

SE has trademarked Duodecim Prologus which of course is related to the Dissidia sequel, as reported by Siliconera.

One possibility is Duodecim Prologus could be an English name for the upcoming PSP game Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy. However, Square Enix already announced the game for the West with the Japanese title as the official English title.

The registration date is also something to note. Square Enix already filed a trademark for [duodecim] with the brackets in Europe and North America. The Duodecim Prologus trademark comes more than a month later.

"Prologus" is Latin for prologue. Since Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy fills us in the story before Dissidia: Final Fantasy could Duodecim Prologus be a prologue to 012?

Milking, much?

Meh that is just wow just wow. If they do make another frickin game or whatever just for a prologue then yes we have a problem here... I do not think that has showed up yet no.. :hmmm: But this is the prequel already and I imagine the prologue will take place in the beggining unless they truly do something different..

*wrinkles nose* A prologue to a prologue game that's not even out yet is a bit of an over kill, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious. I wanna speculate, but we don't know that much about Duodecim's story to even fathom what this "Prologus" could be about :lew:

Maybe it's not even a game, but a short movie or something :hmmm:

Here is a Dissidia Duodecim gameplay of Lightning. I'm not sure if this video has already been posted before or not but I will post it up just in case. Hope you guys like it!

Also here are some new BGM's that will be appearing in Dissidia Duodecim.

Confirmed New Music:
  • "Temple Chaos BGM" (FF1)
  • "JENOVA (undefined)" (FF7)
  • "Birth of God (undefined)" (FF7)
  • "Force your Way" (FF8)

So they are planning another another prequel for this prequel?

Hmm...I think the Prolugus is going to be the English translation for the game :>

It can't be. SE said that the English And Japanese titles were the same. So it's Duodecim Final Fantasy 012 in all areas of release.

This is getting a little bit out of hand.

I want my pocket sized and I dont care about anything else............whinge......
How long ago was TGS? 3 or 4 weeks whats next?

Versus and D2 for Christmas would be very nice but its not even in the ball park.
(nonsensical rambling post 45)

Actually the title for this game will be Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy 012 and yes Square Enix said that the title name for this game will be the same for both Japanese and America version.

If Prologus is just another game of Dissidia they seriously will kill it no joke >.> Still waiting on the other characters, not another fucking game :hmph:

We know the title will be 012...but it could be different for EUR?

I certainly hope its not another game, unless this one is good of course.

But if it is, then maybe they should announce some more characters before quietly announcing yet another game. lol

Again, I'm gonna hold the reigns on jumping to conclusions. Maybe it's just an iPhone app we'll never get or something :wacky:

I wonder if we'll get that Chocobo feature in Duodecim...

I agree with Fusionist here. We can't automatically assume that a new trademark must mean a new game. Anything gets a trademark, even those iPhone apps that few people actually want. I don't think it's a game at all. The name Prologus strikes me as being more of a short novella or something rather than a game. So...an app that tells a brief backstory to the game perhaps?

Yeah that could be it I guess. It probably wont be a game since they are releasing Duodecim. It could probably be something that comes with the limited edition of the game also though.. Again just guessing.

Well I'm not assuming it. I think its just another translation for the game.

Nomura has changed what he said before. Like only 4 more characters to be added, and now its 10.

He could have changed the English release name or something. :)

Well, to shed some light over the Prologus trademark mystery, this came up recently, as reported by Siliconera again.

Just like the European trademark, its registered by Square Enix for use with video game software too.

Square Enix already registered [duodecim] in North America and announced the Dissidia prequel’s name as Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy so we’re a bit puzzled what Duodecim Prologus is. Whatever it is, it’s important enough for Square Enix to trademark in multiple territories.

So the trademark isn't exclusive to Europe and is apparently filed under video game software. If this is true, then it probably is a game or something very similar. If you're asking me, I kind of expected them to milk Dissidia sooner or later.

we will know more at the conference on january 11 2011!

Possibly, but the conference in January is primarily to show more of the Fabula Nova Crystallis games. Of course I remember somewhere about the possibility of announcing more characters to the sequel's roster, so it's a possibility that this may pop up.

If by "video game software" it's still something mundane and unexciting as an app that tells the story of a prequel of (technically) a prequel under the guise of a "game", then I probably won't be surprised. :monster:

Next week's Jump (Japanese mag) is going to have a DDFF article. Not sure what it'll be about but hopefully some more new stuff.

Quite a lot of Gilgamesh talk going on in Japanese forums, though probably just rumours. I hope not, I love that guy :awesome:
