Holy crap, Nomura Vaan is gorgeous :jess:

Hard to tell with the in-game screens, but my shallow self is placated now xD

And I can't tell, but is that his alt. costume on the bottom left?
 
I think it is his alt. It has no colour, and is only black and white. The red and blue stuff isn't on that other costume. Funnily enough, the black and white costume makes him resemble Locke a bit, so perhaps Terra could interact with him like that with them both being thieves / treasure hunters. It'll suck as Locke is 100x cooler and nothing like Vaan, but it looks as if this might be what they have done there. Either that or just seeing Terra there and the alternate costume has just triggered thoughts.


I can't say that I'm surprised to see Vaan in the game, as we were all mostly expecting it to be the case, even though a lot of us hoped it wouldn't be true. I just hope that his moves are unique and different compared to the other playable characters. He's another young sword wielder and he's in danger of being a Tidus clone.
 
I guess so.

He'll not be very original whoever he resembles. It'll be difficult to imagine them doing anything spectacular and different for him.
 
Vaan looks pretty damn macho :gasp:. Hahaha, worst kept secret indeed.

It says he has a variating fighting style where he switches his weapons around during the fight; Bartz clone it is then, but probably worse as I can't see him using that much magic. Maybe a mixture of Bartz and Lightning.

And his 'Another' form is looking even more... gay than usual, with that supposed quiff...

I have many words to describe Vaan with. "Hero" is not one of them.

I don't actually know why I cringed at this confirmation anyway. I (and I think we all did) knew he was bound to creep into the game for a little while now and I'm probably not going to play this game anyway. It's probably because I see it as an injustice on the part of Ashe, Balthier and Fran - contenders that I'd have preferred or found more worthy of representing FFXII. >.>

Oh what a bummer this idiot just had to get in eh? :sad3: Oh well I guess If I get the game Ill just use him as my cpu to beat up like others said xD. Not a fan of Vaan at all and I wish it was Basch, Ashe or even Balthier. Hell Penelo would work also. But it just had to be Vaan... :hmph:

Pfft...I think Vaan might be out of character in Dissidia. That line alone makes him sound very capable and focused :wacky:

I agree I'm not sure what to expect for his fighting style either. Being similar to Mr. Mime Bartz makes sense to me, but I'm hoping for at least some variation to differentiate his style. Maybe he's a hard hitter/slow mover?

IT'S HIS ALT. I can tell; the text mentions Nomura making him more sky-piratey.

His EX-Burst is his Mist Knack, or, Quickening; it's his Pyroclasm one.

I totally agree with that; that's the argument for having Vaan instead of other people in the FFXII cast.

It also mentions that he will be changing his weapons, and therefore similar to Bartz and Firion's fighting style.

I have to say he got a cute face there. He's not my favorite but i liked him in FFXII even if he didn't have a big role. I Hope they have worked on his personality a bit more .

I don't see why people like Balthier so much >_> I'm glad Vaan's in here.
 
As much I would prefer Basch than Vaan, I do think having both him and Gabranth in the game would be a bit of a waste. Maybe SE can make Gabranth's 3rd costume into Basch :gasp:, that'll be pretty sweet. It could happen; what more can they do to Gabranth's armour to make it look different to his original and alt style?

Rumour from Japanese DDFF messageboard: Minwu:-)x3:), Gilagamesh and Yuna will be additions apparently. No source to back this up though, so can't get too excited (but Minwu would be SWEEEEEEEEEEEET). But they've stated a voice actor for Minwu, Yuusei Oda, so who knows...

CONFIRMED @ 2CHAN (from the scans)

1) Vaan has a variety of one-handed swords and shields from FFXII all rendered in the Dissidia 012 engine.

2) He has a phantasmagorical fighting style. This is results in him continually, rapidly switching to different weapons and shields during battle. Some on 2 Chan are speculating it will be similar to Noctis from FF Versus XIII.

3) His EX Burst is his Quickenings. Those on 2 Chan are speculating it will be a different one depending on which sword you have equipped when you execute it.

Lastly, people on 2 Chan are mostly happy about his inclusion. Somebody even posted that if he wasn't in the game then they'd have no need to buy 012. It seems he is quite popular in Japan.

Oh and one more thing, if you think about it, everyone who's not in the first one dies in this one.
 
What backs that up, though? What proves they die in this one?
 
12th war then the 13th.

Vaan (and sadly Kain, Tifa and Lightning) did not appear in 13th but here in the 12th; they would have unless a terrible fate befalls them i.e. DEATH.
 
DDFF is a prequel, so Light, Kain etc will all have to disappear in some way for Dissidia to make sense. That's why I'm kind of hoping Sephiroth stabs Tifa in the you-know-what style (to avoid potential spoiler) and Cloud get's enraged.

OR they could have gone back to their own realities, right? That's a possibility, too.

I just want to be sure before I jump the gun, that's all.
