Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

lol, so mean. If Terra stops abruptly for some random reason and Vaan has to grab her to keep her alive, I think touching her is justified :wacky:

But looks like there is some basis for her 3rd costume then - kewl :3
I'll kill you as well as Vaan.

Sadly, I don't know when it was made, but i'm guessing it's pretty old.
And I can't find it on the web either. Not even in the gaming galleries. Maybe someone scanned it straight from the FFVI artbook..? D:

(I'm actually more excited about seeing Terra's new costume than I am about Vaan being the game. XD)
Ah dang....are you sure its Terra? Was the Wiki...nevermind, I don't trust Wikia xD

I'm a lot more excited over Terra as well...

Maybe Vaan just finds Terra first as a friend and touches her like that xD So if everybody dies in this one that is not in the first one then Vaan wil die :ryan: Never liked the guy. Terra's new design is neat. Cant say I like it bette rthan green haired Terra though :hmmm:

I don't like it better than green haired Terra either...

This outfit would look even better if she had green hair. :x3:

The balance was broken.
Those who answered Chaos's call
created an inexhaustible force.

And under vicious attack without relent,
the warriors fighting for Cosmos started to fall one by one.

The conflict that has continued for eons
is now about to end in Chaos's favor.

This is the intro to the original Dissidia.

So from this, we can surmise that the characters in Duodecim not present in the first game DO die, in some way.
:sad3:
Lightning, Kain and Tifa will be missed...
But Vaan! :lew:

I wonder what happened to the other villains, though?
Unless Chaos's side was winning because of the additional mannequins they had?

Eeeeeeeexcellent, let's roast em silicon implants. :wacky:

Also somebody mentioned that being 4 heroes now.. the rest of the new ones will probably be villains.. Maybe some unexpected ones and thats why they're holding back. :hmmm:

So the characters in this one aren't in the the Dissidia game we already have cause they died, right?

:hehee

So... they are dead? 8(

tifa... DIED! Weird... :hmmm:

:rage: POOR VAAN :rage:

Is anyone noticing the women are the main characters dieing? :mokken:

:hmmm: I'm also curious about certain characters allegiances.

Wasn't Jecht on Cosmos' side at one point?
And wasn't Terra on Chaos' side?

We also get to see the deal with Shantotto and Gabranth, hopefully. :hmmm:

Golbez too, he seemed too 'good' on Dissidia. Plus he's
Cecil's brother
after all. And who's to say Kain will be 100% good throughout? We've seen him attack Lightning in the trailer, plus Tifa seemed o fight him too.

I don't think everyone will be fixed onto one side throughout the game in DDFF, Kuja is supposedly initially on Cosmos' side from the trailer. Maybe Terra get's controlled by Kefka, who knows.

I'm just too excited for this game.

On the whole new characters will end up dying bit...

I dunno, I still don't think "fall" will exactly mean "death" in this case. It would be...amazingly hardcore if it was, but I can't see S-E killing off characters that have decent fanbases (even Vaan, guys; it's been said he's actually pretty popular over in Japan and I think that's true). Also, it would suck if Lightning died because she has no other FFXIII character to at least comment on her demise, let alone care :sad3:

And again, if that was the case, then how come those other 10 Cosmos warriors who were defeated (therefore killed) in the 12th battle were able to come back in the 13th one?

Unless proven wrong (which I usually am :wacky: ) I'm still gonna assume any new characters announced after Vaan will be on the Chaos side.

Although...

:hmmm: I'm also curious about certain characters allegiances.

Wasn't Jecht on Cosmos' side at one point?
And wasn't Terra on Chaos' side?

This is the main thing I'm loving about Dissidia outside of gameplay. The character interactions and dynamics are just so friggin' awesome. And the whole blurring lines about allegiance also has me really interested. Just goes to show there's isn't always a clear-cut good or bad side :lew:

That's whats said. I hope we get to see her beating up on people and then someone saves her. :) Better not be Vaan though. :gonk:

Gabranth, Cecil or maybe Firion :>

About the characters dying, I can't imagine Protagonists from these different Final Fantasies dying in games that aren't canon to their original story-lines.

It seems to far-fetched to me, but it is SE we're talkin' about here.

Maybe when they "fall" they don't die but just fade away until the battle is finally won...? XD I dunno.

I don't think that death would be too far fetched for Dissidia.

If we look at it this way... If they die in Dissidia it is not as if they really died in their home universe. We're to assume that all of the characters were plucked from their own worlds at a time before the end of their respective games. They're being transported to another universe, and the universes without these heroes in (following their deaths) would create parallel universes to the universe of the main game.

We know a universe exists where Kain, Tifa, Lightning and Vaan survive. So if these characters die in Dissidia that will not delete all which happened in the original games, but it would mean that there has been either an altered timeline, or a parallel universe has formed.

I hope for some really inventive and interesting deaths. We'll not get it though. I can't see them risking it.

Pretty much agree with all the above responses. I think people shouldn't try to think too hard about trying to rationalize the events of Dissidia and Duodecim (and potential future games) to the original FF games. Dissidia's just one big awesome "what if" scenario. It's kind of like how there are FF characters in the Kingdom Hearts series. They are FF characters, but not the same exact ones from the respective universes (younger Seifer, older Squall, Aerith alive, Cloud with a wing, and etc; all things that aren't true to the original FF games).

Like, I know it says each character comes from their own respective world, but the way I've understood it, each FF game is it's own friggin' universe. Dissidia would be like a universe where all these FF universes got put into one universe (or each FF universe is just a lowly world, lulz)

The only thing that might be exempt is WoL, given how he ends in Dissidia
the way he starts in FF1
.

But again, story doesn't really rank high for me in these games :lew:

Let's see...Vaan officially got announced about 4 weeks after Tifa did, and Tifa got announced (officially) about 4 weeks after Duodedim was announced. Me thinks we'll be getting monthly updates then :hmmm:

Kinda like the last? They released something new on almost the same day wait from a previously announced character.

Like when Cloud and Terra were confirmed....

So Square Enix should have release some new informations and announce up to 2 new characters by the end of December according to our calculation. Is that correct?

Edit: Here is a translation of the new message from Testuya Nomura talking about Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy 012.

The Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy official site was given a new section today. As it does for many of its releases, Square Enix is having the development staff deliver messages about the game, and up first is "Creative Producer & Concept Designer" Tetsuya Nomura.

Wrote Nomura, "I often hear that that people are still continuing to play the original. I have tremendous thanks for this steadfast support. Because of this, we were able to produce a sequel."

Development appears to be nearing completion. "Presently, we're entering the final stages in approach of completion," said Nomura. "The staff is working day and night to exceed the expectations of everyone."

Nomura suggested that players be on the lookout not just for all the new character announcements, but also for the changes being implemented for all the past characters. He also said to expect announcements for new gameplay systems and other elements.

Joining Nomura's message, the Final Fantasy Historical Compendium site was also updated today with a look back at Final Fantasy III. Check the site for the usual look at memorable scenes, gameplay systems, and characters, all set to some nostalgic music.

The last 2 character reveals was Jump exclusives, and that comes out the beginning of each month, so I'd say we should get a 5th character in December, but a 6th in January...

Assuming S-E sticks with this pattern. Oh, and that there's going to be more characters after Vaan.

And also assuming the game comes out in April like it's been rumored to be. A final character reveal in March (therefore giving us a total of 8 new characters for Duodecim) would make sense. The final character for the first Dissidia game was announced (I think) 2 months before Japan's release, so....

...Whoa. I can't believe I'm putting so much thought into this :ffs:

You know what? Come what may :monster:

Oh, putting thought into anything is always good, no matter the subject. :)

I just hope we don't get a full of thieves and ninjas in this game...its okay to have a few, but to have 3-4 thieves will just be...boring. >.<

Square-Enix is not going to put various characters with the same job class or fighting style because it will totally ruin the game. They are aware of the consequences if they do make that move. They are trying to select the perfect characters to be added to the roster and balance them without making too many copies of the same battle style. That will be a downfall for this great game.
