^ I think Kain was already a Cosmos warrior in the first, but if anything, I'm still not sure why there's some ambiguity with his allegiance. We see him face Lightning after she comes across a weakened Bartz that seems to say Kain attacked him, but we see Kain giving Cecil back up in the trailer, so...

Maybe Kain goes to Chaos in the end where as Terra goes to Cosmos in the end? Although why Kain switches side is yet to be seen (or even considered a possibility xD)

I still wanna know which Chaos warrior will have a POV in the game though. I originally thought Kain because the trailer lead me to believe he was on the Chaos side initially, but if he's on Cosmos' side, he'll get a POV anyways, so that still leaves up a POV up in the air

Here are some new information about Vaan and Gabranth. This news has been translated from the Japanese Wiki.

Vaan:
Switching among 8 types of weapons.
Has a lot of Brave attacks. Can fight at close range or far range depending on how you customize.
Each Brave attack utilizes one weapon.
Confirmed Weapons: sword, greatsword, spear, gun, katana, bowgun/crossbow, fist.

Switch ability
The special part of Vaan.
Unlike other multi weapon user, Vaan will not put away his weapon after attack.
If you use a particular weapon's Brave attack while holding another weapon, Switch ability is executed.
Switch ability is provided for each weapon. It has properties such as: adding "guard" to slow attacks, charge-able, absorb, move while attacking etc.
Using the "correct" weapon of the attack will not trigger Switch ability.
Therefore, the order of performing Brave attacks becomes important.
There is no Switch ability for fist(bare hand).

Gabranth new Brave attack:
地裂斬 (Ex mode, ground) - releasing fast flame pillars on ground, tracks opponent.

Terra, you're not going to like this. But Vaan is saying:

"Before we defeat Chaos, I'm going to come back to get you"

and to Tifa at the bottom:

"Well no wonder you're tired"

Vaan is just being flirtly in every scan so far, especially with the way he's standing when talking to Tifa (plus holding Terra's hand). I may end up hating him even more once DDFF comes out

Okay, maybe Vaan is tryin' to hit that.


Thanks for the translations, guys, the more info that arrives, the happier I am. Terra does look really pretty in that scan.

Here are some information about the Assist System, Ex Mode and 2 of Vaan's HP Attacks.

According to Wiki:
-Using an assist attack against an enemy who is in EX mode triggers EX break, which depletes the enemy's EX to zero (kicks enemy out of EX mode) and the user gets the map brave/ brave pool in the middle

-While in EX mode, attacking an assist character that the enemy unleashed causes Assist Break, Which locks the enemy's Assist for a while and you get the map brave/ brave pool in the middle

As for Vaan's HP attacks they are:
-Inferno
-Torrent

What the....Vaan, a knight? But he's a thief-pirate, not a knight. I would think Basch maybe, or Larsa, but....Vaan?

Gah, if they keep this up, another one of my games will be changed.

lol, no need to threaten bodily harm to fictional characters. Seriously, Vaan's coming off rather appealing in Duodecim to me. He's young, hawt, chivalrous with a hint of ambiguous flirting and seems fun to control.

And I think Terra herself just seems to invoke feelings of protection from the others. In the CGI intro of Dissidia, Cloud, WoL and OK protect her from a blast from The Emperor, Onion Knight is especially protective in their respective POVs, and Cloud helps Terra deal with her powers. I'm not saying she's weak or anything, but the idea of someone trying to protect her doesn't seem off to me, so Vaan acting as a "knight" (and I doubt there's an actual role of a knight, just something cheeky like "I'll be your knight" or even the idea of chivalry here) is okay with me.

EDIT: Hold up! Something very vague just came to me.

From what we've seen thus far, a few of the Chaos warriors don't really appear to be hostile to the Cosmos warriors in Duodecim. Kuja seems alright, and Jecht originally was a Cosmos warrior, right? Maybe...Maybe these guys are gonna appear as Cosmos warriors and we'll get to play their POVs?

...Or is that just wishful thinking? xD

I still want to stab Vaan until he bleeds data.

If they make Vaan something he wasn't in 12, he won't be Vaan. Vaan may not have been my favorite in the game, but I don't "hate" him or his character. They've changed enough, I don't think they need to make Vaan act like Balthier or Edge, it wouldn't be Vaan.

Maybe Vaan frees her from Kefka's control and Terra is in a "hazy" place and doesn't know what's what or where she is and she's afraid they will get her again and that's what he means by the quote and that's why he's trying to save her?

That seems like Vaan to me, and its not that bad

Yeah, pretty much what Fus said.. it's not about him being classed AS a Knight, but more like acting like a Knight in Shining armour to Terra, such as the translation there which says something about going back for her after the fight.. maybe he doesn't want her involved.

The whole magazine apparently reveals:

-Gabranth's appearance doesn't seem to change when he goes into EX mode in his third alt
-Kefka's fighting style is supposed to be modified. I don't think it's as big as Firion though.
-Vaan can use 8 weapon (one brave attack each) types and his HP attacks are based on the quickening finishers.
-HP attacks makes him bare-fisted
-Every brave attack(weapon) has two versions a "switch" version and a normal version
-A switch attack happens when use a different weapon from the one equipped and is slower but has extra effects like moving during attack,etc
-A normal attack when you use the same brave attack as the weapon equipped and is faster and easier to use.
-The difference between Firion and Vaan is that a Firion player thinks in the middle of the combo while a Vaan player thinks before attacking. (I guess this means that Vaan doesn't have HP links)
-The stage Squall and Sephiroth are fighting in is The Void (if it wasn't obvious)

Hmmmm I realy hope they alter the game play a bit with so many charecter stories to play,especially being anal,Its realy anoying to "master" everything so mabey they could cut out certain aspects of it,like cut out the number of items or some such thing...its my hope anyways....
Id also like to see the summons play a better use...
What else............. I dont mind Vaan so much but ,not thet I care for her in the least ,woulndt Ashe be the better lead? I mean I think the story of XII pretty much revolved around her more than anyone else(personaly Id rather have Fran but oh well) I still dont have alot of love for XII charecters
Honestly this better be a good "Dissidia" or I may seriously start giving up buying FF's anymore

I'm not sure if that is all the information that appears on the magazine, it probably is. If it is not then maybe we get more from it later on.

And I guess Sephy and Squall were fighting eachother after-all, but yeah, the Void is the same as it was in the Dissidia xD

That scene of WoL assisting Lightning, why is there a keyhole there?

The keyhole means that the enemy's Assist character was attacked by an Ex Mode move locking the enemy's Ex for a period of time. Here is some information about the Assist System and the Ex Mode system posted earlier by me.

Its cool to see the bad-guys in battle with the good guys, and I love Terra's new costume,
I don't really see what it is, but I know I will love it for sure, Kefka looks like Chritmas to me.
Her clothes look so old school, its sweet and reminiscent of the Original game,
hopefully this gives Nomura the idea of a FFVI remake XD

Tifa and Lightning Fighting together, man that sweet,
I can't wait to see them in cut-scenes together, I know they'll be kickin' some ass verbally and physically XD
