Endless Cry - Final Fantasy VII

I am quite intrigued by this RP While I am not quite fond of participating in RPs based on actual games (specially Final Fantasy ones), I admit that my curiosity had one the best of me, and so I am aiming to test my luck here and participate; if I am allowed to join of course.

Limit Breaks
Limit Break #1 Name: Sanctum Sphatas

Limit Break #1 Description:
Zephyrum summons forth blades of purifying energies from deep within the core of the stone embedded to his sword. The amount of swords called to his aid are usually around 6 to 8, depending on the amount of energy he infuses in this attack. The summoned swords surround Zephyrum, shielding him until he decides to launch an all out assault to his enemies.

Limit Break #1 Effects: The swords can be used to nullify dark-based spells upon contact, and the energy emanated from the swords is deadly against undead foes.



Limit Break #2 Name:
Veni, Vidi, Vinci

Limit Break #2 Description:
Zephyrum summons forth the energy contained within the orb embedded to his blade to infuse himself with non-elemenl energies. The cells within his body then react with the spell, thus providing a reddish aura around his his body. Zephyrum then slowly draws his blade, dashes towards his target and leaps fearsomely forward, thrusting through the air as if he were a sword himself. After shortening the distance between himself and his pray, Zephyrum begins to unleash three sword swings, one after each word pronounced, the first one being Veni and the last one being Vinci. The attacks are aimed to strategical points of a target's body in an attempt to disable their defenses. Of course, the first step of this chain-like limit must be successful for the others to follow up.

Limit Break #2 Effects: The effects of the limit break are separated depending on the amount of successful hits:

-Veni: injects a target with a corrosive venom that weakens his target's strength and spirit. Allows another attack to follow.

-Vidi: pierces his target's very soul to deal a fatal blow to their mental stability. The attack severely affects the target's emotional status, seriously affecting the mind of a target. If successful, it allows to follow to another attack.

-Vinci: the final blow, and thus the most deadly. This one is carefully aimed to strike down a target's very heart, although not physically if the intention to kill is not present. The attack lowers a targets morality taking away their will to fight, this providing an opportunity to end the battle without any cassualties, however; if Zephyrum wishes to murder his target, the sword will pierce through the target's chest, injecting a more powerful venom. The toxins will instantly attack the target's spinal cord and distribute themselves throughout the body, terminating all biological functions. The attack must be successful for this effects to be applied.

Just as a head's up, Julius...you did your stat alignment wrong. It's not for particular elements, but for HP, AP, etc.
 
Yep. The stat allignment segment is for the strengths, neutrals and weaknesses of your stat progression and growth. (HP, AP, Vitality, Attack, Spirit and Magic). Once you've edited that, I'm more than happy to include you within the role-play.

Very interesting Limit Breaks as well. I am actually in the middle of debating the current system's usage. I might alter them on a new system so that people get to use them a little more, as well as add in some strategy in the process. Will keep you posted on that.

Just a note to Red Fox incase you didn't read my GM Notice. A 'Stop' status here still allows you to act. You just don't regenerate anymore AP at the start of your next turn.

And, it was actually a great idea that Shadow wasn't resurrected yet ... especially with Cloud's latest attack!

Shadow, if you were watching the battle both me and Yukio went down to 0 ap, I tried stealing to try and get me another soma (which I badly need) and Yukio healed Kayne (which had he not done Kayne would most likely be dead as well).

Red Fox seems to not have been on lately so you can't blame him either.

If we were capable of reviving you we would have done so. You can still post just be patient please.
 
ARGH fine i gotta work on my RPB bio anyways, but please revive me before the end of the fight cus i wanna be alive when we defeat cloud.
 
Yeah, Im not that active, As I got myself a job, and I was occupied with getting it made.

I have yet to start though, but I might be slow as time progresses.

thanks for saving me Red, now on to killing Cloud before i get pissed again. hey unphased how soon until we get to unleash our limits? my character is really pissed at cloud, and i think this would count as reaching his limit don't you?

I am actually curious to know how this stats/elements alignments can be implemented in text based battles. I am aiming to learn something new in this RP.

The stat alignment decides how your stats will be. Your AP will be more than other players because it was your first choice, but you'll have weak magic and magic defense since you put those as last. When unphased does your statistics, you'll see.

shadow mage: DO NOT post in the RP with just OOC. I've deleted that post, and hope not to see one in the future. Your character had plenty of time to heal himself before he was KO'd, but you chose not to. Do not get angry with the other players just because they did not revive you immediately. As Fair_Game said, most of the character had very low, if not minimal AP, and during a fight with someone as strong as Cloud, the best tactic is to keep everyone who is still alive, healed, and to attack as much as possible. Yukio cast a Potion on Shadow earlier, yet you didn't try to heal yourself after you were injured after that. This RP is about teamwork, not everyone else just helping out your character without anything in return.

As for the limit break stuff, unphased said he was working on a new system to be implemented for the limit breaks. In FFVII the limit gauge was dependent on damage received I thought, where one would need to receive substantial damage to increase it.

From what I've seen during this battle, Cloud would have to be a foolish npc in order for us to win. As it stands we're pretty well on our way to losing.... =/ Our best bet is to skip healing and go with an all out offensive!

I urge any team member to forget HP and go for the finishing blow! Use every ounce of AP to win!

Well thats my tactical advice. The question is would our Characters (being that we created them) have the foresight to know to do that? I know Sage would just keep attacking if he saw an opportunity to win, I think yukio might try and heal everyone, I think Kayne would try and reserve himself and Shadow may try and use half his AP to save half in case he needed to heal.

If this is the case then I will post up Sage's response as quickly as possible in order to ask the others to just fight!
 
Of course, you'll be able to purchase various equipment through the game to help you out in any areas that you may be lacking in. I've created your profile (the detailed profiles are now available within this thread, leaving the main thread with more room for the ever-growing lists of Materia, Items, and the Beastiary). I've already given your character the starting pack which everyone receieved, which includes two random materia. You received a Final Attack and an Ifrit sumon. You can begin your introductionary post whenever you are ready and enter the battle.

On the recent subject of Limit Breaks, I've decided to simply alter the cost usage. It is now as follows (just for your personal benefit if you're interested in any way):

Attack given [+1]
Attack received [+5]
Critical status reached [+15]
KO [+25]

So players should be able to use Limit Breaks a little more frequently, especially during long battles.

On the whole, everyone is doing really good, and Cloud is really weakening thanks in part to the Poison status. If you can keep yourselfs afloat, you should be able to beat him!
 
even if he kills me, i have auto raise so i can finish him and win the battle for us all. in the meantime, i launched my shadow orb at him.

BIO: orphaned as a child and found just outside of wutai he grew up alongside yuffie (but was not mentioned in the game) training alongside her too he was saddened when she left with cloud and the gang as he was too late to confess his love for the girl. this has left him slightly disconnected with the people around him

EFFECT: damages all enemies on the field
2) BEGINNERS LUCK
DESCRIPTION: fayd rapidly fires 4 bolts in rapid succession into the air hoping they rain down on the enemy... but sometimes hes not that lucky
EFFECT: if the bolts fall on the enemies then they do damage x3 if they hit a party member they do normal damage

what do you think am i in??

It's not as if it's even a labourous concept that you're doing - you're unleashing a special that is unique to your character. I'm certain that you can expand upon three lines, right?

Hey. There are a number of reasons why I explicitely stated 'do not post within this thread unless your profile has been approved by the GM'. The case in point here is that yours is not ready just yet, besides which, your character wouldn't suddenly just turn up out of the blue in the caves like that and launch an all-out attack on Cloud (leader of Avalanche!) when he doesn't even know what's going on! Lol. That's god-modding!

I'm not saying you can't join, but yeah, the rules are there for a reason. Can I ask you to delete your post please? Or edit it out? Ok, let me look at your profile...

Weapons
Weapons don't have any unique characteristics just yet. They will later on as the role-play develops, but at the start, you need to follow the sign-up form. So they can only be melee (gain criticals, but not hurt long-range opponents) or long range (no criticals, but attack any range opponents).

Elemental Allignment
You can only have one positive and one negative elemental allignment I'm afraid.

Limit Breaks
The 'Scales of Balance' Limit Break is not acceptable, simply because all enemies will always have more HP than the players (because of the amount of moves each player can do in a single turn). So I'll have to ask you to change that as well.

Once you've altered your profile, I'll get your main one up, give you some starting equipment, and then you can make an introductionary post back in Cosmo Canyon itself...

Personality: Quite a joker who finds his joy through bettering himself in combat, he likes to constantly test himself against strong opponents, often getting himself in danger deliberately all in the name of self improvement. When not in combat he is most likely to try and be friendly with people, either for a sparring partner or as an ally should his hunger for battle consume him and he needs help.


Short Bio: During his child to teenage years Alexander spent his days training in the hopes of one day becoming one of Shin-Ra's SOLDIERs, by the time he felt able to take the test however, Sephiroth appeared and slew Presiden Shin-Ra and afterwards all sorts of catastrophes took place. In particular the attack by Weapon and the meteor which nearly destroyed the planet. After these events he took his leave from Midgar and travelled the world, seeing exploration as a good way to grow even stronger, hoping one day to become one of the mightiest warriors the world shall ever know. Seeking a good opportunity to test out what skills he had already gained as well as master new ones he joined AVALANCHE so as well as this he could make a name for himself.


Appearance:
Eye Colour: Light Brown
Hair Colour: Light Brown
Hair Style: Fairly neat overall but has a slightly scruffy fringe, the hair is short so as not to impair his vision.
Shirt: A light red shirt with small metal 'dishes' on areas where vital organs may be attacked, they are all hidden behind the jacket so as not to give enemies a chance to think of ways to penetrate past them. these are attatched by layers of white cloth tightly bound around the torso.
Trousers: Black trousers with only two pockets on the sides, they are slightly baggy to make them easier to move in and can slightly shield blunt blows(ie: a kick, not necessarily a hammer).
Shoes: Metal boots designed to shield the feet from arrows and stabs, they are slightly heavy due to this but can double up as a weapon thanks to this. Certain projectiles and stabs most likely will be able to get through this if thrown/fired/thrust hard enough, ie: a greatsword would be able to penetrate this whereas a shortsword would not under normal circumstances.
Jacket: A black jacket with two deep pockets on the front and two slightly less deep pockets inside on either side. The jacket measures from the shoulders to just below the waist. It is long sleeved and is able to resist most natural climates.

Combat
Weapon Name: Moonshiner
Weapon Range: Short range
Weapon Description: The Moonshiner is a 5"9 longsword with a crimson red hilt, the hilt is shaped with an inward curved guard and the blade itself is 4.5 inches wide and nearly an inch of that is made up of cutting edge. the blade itself is made of steel and in strong hands can stand up to greatswords without risk of shatter.
Sub-Weapon Name: Power and Skill
Weapon Range: Short to Long Range
Sub-Weapon Description: A pair of hatchets, these are curved almost into a crescent moon shape, they can be used for melee combat or throws for long range foes. They are fairly difficult to harm long range foes due to their shape and are difficult to wield in close combat unless dealing with enemies that wield knives or other light weapons. they can however become enchanted with the magic of whatever materia they are currently equipped with. (if fire materia was equipped they would become enveloped in flame, this effect is stronger with higher level materia)
Enemy miss chance:
when thrown: 60% chance of avoiding entirely, 30% chance of recieving only a scratch, 15% chance of penetrating the skin and becoming lodged in it.

Limit Break #1 Name: Blade of Darkness
Limit Break #1 Description: Moonshiner becomes enveloped in dark mist, Alexander then rushes his foe and delivers 4 diagonal slashes and then a 5th overhead slash, the 5th slash has a high chance of inflicting darkness on a foe.
Limit Break #1 Effects: four basic attacks with 50% chance at critical hits and a fifth blow with guarranteed critical and a 80% chance of darkness status being inflicted on the foe.

Limit Break #2 Name: Flurry Mania
Limit Break #2 Description: Using the combined efforts of his longsword and hatchets he braves a shoulder barge into a foe, and if successful then impales the foe with his Moonshiner. Afterward he uses the sword to launch them into the air and then throws both his hatchets at their defenseless body and finishes off the attack with a 360 slash with his longsword while they fall.
Limit Break #2 Effects: 1 low damage attack followed by 2 short range attacks, then 2 long range attacks and a knockback slash attack to finish.
