Eureka Academy: Exitium {S/D}

*Double post incoming*

Some fucking cunt Bitchfuck took my internet modem this morning. So Im sorry to say this is getting delayed a few days. -__- All because of one stupid thieving bitch. ^_^ I hope you all arent disappointed. I myself am particularly angry since I have a delay in delivering a job so don't mind my anger. :sad3:

Damn shame I caught this so late. I'll be sure to post tomorrow at some point after I wake up. I'm tired as balls right now. Sorry. :gasp:

Noooooooooooooooooooo! Damn you Valk! U ninjad me! This si what i get for going with three characters. By the time i post, someone always ninjas XD

Off to edit now

I'm starting to think some people are confused aboot the location of Eureka town. It might be partly my fault for not mentioning it in this thread and not clearly putting in in post opening post but it's like right outside the school. And the docks are supposed to be located opposite the island with a pathway leading up to the school. It's like a castle at the end of Eureka town to be honest. :hmmm: The people departing the ship are much further away from the town and even further from the school since the two are basically one in the same location wise. I was kinda just going off the picture at the front of the thread and in the opening post since I liked it's layout of the floating island. :hmmm: I hope this helps. ^_^

i was under the assumption that it was Docks, town in the middle, then the academy with the courtyard in front of the school

I can't post at the moment (at school), but I will have one up tonight. Sorry to make you guys wait. (My schedule has become... a rather fickle bitch.)

Schedules are always a bitch. The only time I have that I can use a computer at school are tuesday and thursday and even them im usually too tired to bother; took a 2 hour nap in an unused classroom instead. At least now I have time to make a post.

Don't worry, Gav, I'm struggling just to keep up. I have multiple assignments I'm working on, including writing a play that could be produced. This RP is kicking my shiny white ass.

Never saw you as a playwright Ringo, writer yes, but not playwright. Doesn't help that as of late I've been unable to get into my computer sanctum int he tech building lately for multiple reasons. Last thursday I had to go with mum up to get stuff since she can't do it on her own - at least I didn't miss class. Then I get home and the next 5 hours is me prepping food and entertaining.

Should start seeing about taking over a library computer on mondays and wednesdays....

Yaoi Master Gavin
See how I feel? :lew: I keep thinking i'm all caught up on reading and bam 10 new posts.

Ditto. I keep getting ninja'd. Tho, im thinking of recommending a system to Oli so it moves less fast. No post restriction, but it might help with the sudden skipping ahead.... hopefully

Perhaps a post order? That would help those of us with shitty schedules out. I don't mind things moving too fast, but it's very hard for me to keep up. I feel like I'm rushed as it is, but with posts moving so fast I hurry up and throw up a quick post that have very little detail and aren't very long at all. :gasp:

Geez. Jack must have some sort of invisibility in sight function built in without me knowing. Cuz Yaoi just passed Lyra and me and he didn't see me. XD

*Too awesome to be seen with the naked eye.

Hmm.... now tha ti think about it, my idea doesnt fix over posting, but it does fix the rp going ahead in time. Like, what im thinking creates a definitive time in which the an event ends and people cant just go ahead and continue posting. They have to end whatever they are doing there and gives time for those that have fallen behind to catch up with a single catch up post and get back into the same time frame. More often than not, people get ahead of themselves. They move hours ahead just because they are posting. This should, in theory, limit to how far ahead they can go.

ALSO, this may result in a bit more work on Oli's part in terms of keeping track of who is chaining convos and lagging behind. So if you do need help, call on some of the RPers to help you keep track.

I think i suggested this to Valk before, but it should work a lot better for Eureka considering the much shorter arcs. Rather than just say "Ok, bam, its the next day/event" like what Oli just did with the fight (which i thought was a bit abrupt), he can actually create an overlord/narrator character, kind of like the Director in L4d2 (the director is what they call the program/ system which decides when a horde comes and if a special spawns etc) and give parameters to what they can do (predominately, time limit)

Oli can actually dictate the time frame, such as "Homecoming Ball. 6:00 - 9:00". Then, within this, when eh feels things are begining to drag or he wants to move on, he can state the number of narrator warning posts before he forcibly move the RP forward.

An example.

"12:00 - 8:00 AM"

When oli feels its dragging on too much he can say

"in my third post (as narrator), it will be daylight. If you have business to finish during the night, do so now."

By doing that, things like a late night stroll, a date or sneaking into a place or anything night related, they'd have to bulldoze through it before the third post comes.

So if people want to rob a house, then they have to do more within a smaller amount of post. This lets you bypass people that take too long and stuck in one place as well as long as hell chain conversation posts. If they cant finish it before the final post, then their next post after it would have to quickly wrap up and move to the next time frame.

Another example is "The night is over and a new school day begins."
In this instance, the players next post, if he didnt finish his stroll, will be forced to quickly conclude it and put himself into the morning time frame, getting ready for class.

One bonus factor for what i suggested is that said "narrator" can throw in things for shits and giggles. Besides time limit, Oli can throw in surprises at players in certain situations.

Well, that was my suggestion. I may have not worded it well, but to summarise:

*Oli can designate a time frame so people do appropriate things during that time

*Oli can forcibly move RP forward with countdown post system.

*Gives Oli another channel in controlling the RP and events, such as monster summons and such

*Does not outright solve people moving ahead in immediate events such as conversation, so post order for those may be needed and worked out amongst those involved.

I actually like this idea, cause I only got two or three post in myself, and also it wont be like some people are at the ball and some people are on the next day sort of deal, I mean yeah it does cause a lot more work for Oli, so in the end it is up to Oli...
