Evanescent Fairytale {RP}

"I'm taking you to a place where you can rest and heal your injuries, don't worry about who I am yet." The catlike figure said.

Mystro could not but help noticing she had declined to speak her name. Out of respect he felt that he should say his first. "My name is Mystro. I normally say where I am from, however my memory has been lost. And yours might be...?" Mystro lay limp. "I greatly appreciate both of your assistance. I dont think I have any cuts, but my body feels as though it needs mending." Mystros breath was heavy.

Ahrexian threw himself down on one of the other beds in the room.
It had been a long day, and it had all started that morning in Cia village when he had picked up his contract charge. He had headed through the forest towards castle Siard, to the king where he was due to drop off the messenger, but things, unexplainable things, had happened along the way.
Anyway now here he was with two complete strangers about to catch up on some much needed sleep, he felt tomorrow would be no better.
"Did I hear correctly, you're name is Mystro? Mine is Ahrexian, it's nice to meet you. I'm a... handyman, I do small jobs in exchange for cash, what is it that you do if you don't mind me asking?"
He waited for a reply from the strange man, and asked the woman, "How is it you were able to run so quickly with that weight on your back, surely you are more than just human..?"

"My name is Mystro. I normally say where I am from, however my memory has been lost. And yours might be...?" The cloaked woman nodded then said, "My name is Virginia, Virginia Vinerno. The doctor will be in soon to treat your wounds signore. (mister) Don't worry."

He then turned her attention to the Ahrexian the mercenary who just arrived and threw himself on one of the beds. He introduced himself to the injured dragoon before asking Virginia. "How is it you were able to run so quickly with that weight on your back, surely you are more than just human..?"

Virginia smiled, saying, "You may be one of the smarter mercenari (mercenary) that I have met in my life." At that time, Virginia removed her hood, slightly bloody along with the rest of her white robe from the fact carrying Mystero, revealing her face and her feline features underneath. "In fact, Io non sono nemmeno umani. (I'm not even human.)

"Did I hear correctly, you're name is Mystro? Mine is Ahrexian, it's nice to meet you. I'm a... handyman, I do small jobs in exchange for cash, what is it that you do if you don't mind me asking?"

"Yes you heard me right." Mystro responded. "I...I cannot say I know what I do. I seem to be suffering from amnesia." Mystro was pained. "I will explain my story tomorrow if you want to know it, but i need rest. Tomorrow I will be normal. It is the new moon tonight."

"The doctor will be in soon to treat your wounds signore. (mister) Don't worry."

"I dont think I have any wounds, you two were the first to fint me since i morphed." Mystros head rolled slowly to face the cloaked woman. "I should be fine when I'm human again."

Mystro watched as the woman removed the cloak she wore to reveal a bipedal feline. This surprised Mystro greatly. Seeing the blood on the cloak, he started to lose himself, but quickly struck by an impulse of pain, he reverted back to normal. "Like I said, if you wish it, I will explain everything tomorrow..."

Mystro's eyes grew heavy, and he began to dose off. It was time to sleep. The doctor could examine him asleep with ease, since he would seem unconcious.

"I will explain my story tomorrow if you want to know it, but i need rest. Tomorrow I will be normal. It is the new moon tonight."

"Ok Mystro we will talk more in the morning, that seems fair to me, I'm sure we could all use a little rest."
Shocked by the revelation of the fact that Virginia was in fact not human, Ahrexian almost missed the glint in the eye of the dragon man as he spotted the blood on her cloak.
He crossed the room to where she was as Mystro closed his eyes he whispered "If I were you I would hide that cloak somewhere, at the very least until the morning..."
With that Ahrexian went back to his bed and laid down, closing his eyes so the others would believe he was sleeping, he had shared a room with strangers before with more than dangerous results, and wasn't about to make the same mistake again.

"Yeah, I suppose we can wait till tomorrow." Virginia said, after seeing Mystro starting to pulse out of control over the blood on her cloak, she heard Ahrexian whisper in her ear. "If I were you I would hide that cloak somewhere, at the very least until the morning..." He was right, and at least she was fortunate enough to bring a spare set of clothes in case of something like that.

After the handyman "went to sleep" Virginia found an area with a folding area on one corner of the room which she used to change into her regular clothes (the clothes seen on her bio page without the hat. The cloak she put into her bag which she then tossed out the window into an alley. It would be too dangerous to keep the cloak in her room. Virginia pulled out her straight knife and put it under her bed, so that anyone that try to harm her would get a knife to the heart.

Virginia closed her eyes, but like Ahrexian, not completely sleeping so that she would not be betrayed.

Seridaxon watched the smaller people run off and smiled to himself.

"Such young and ignorant creatures" Seridaxon said to himself as he walked, Seridaxon had not met a challenger worthy of his effort for hundreds of years and so he headed to Siard in hope he would find a semi worthy opponent to at least toy with before crushing.

"Seva processor engaging long distance travel pistons"

Seridaxons legs started grinding and became bigger and he instanty took off he knew hed make it to his destination easily before midnight.

The sun seemed to rise quickly in Siard and not many people seemed to know about the tragedies of Cia and the Mana Tree. The Siard Festival had begun on this day and all sorts of mechanical inventions were to be shown and tested by the public. Others were wary of the attacks of the unknown monsters from the day before and were scared to leave their houses regardless of the safety from Siard guards.

The festival went on as usual and small crowds began to form. King Henry walked out onto a small podium and got ready to make his speech. As the king got himself ready, Orin stood amongst the crowd. His thoughts mulling over in his head. Laeifal wouldn’t want him to go through with the king’s selfish desires…but then again, Orin was selfish as well. He thought over the scripture in his head. If he were to do this, then Falacore’s prophecy would indeed come true.

And then he would have to deal with the hero of the Mana Tree. Ah, the hero thought Orin. Master of all mana would be summoned to arrive and stop all threats… But Orin had found a loophole: The hero of the Mana Tree was the one to vanquish Laeifal in the first place. How could he come back from the dead a thousand years from then?! At this Orine was confident of his plans which he kept secret. He raised his hood upon his poisonous green cloak. He had made up his mind, he was going to wreak more havoc…

Earthly realm

Riley awoke from his small nap out by the dumpsters on the side of his building. He had been dreaming again of all of these weird people, as if they where characters in a fiction book. As he grunted, his eyes adjusted to the dull morning sun. it had a greener tint in it before, but Riley paid it no mind. All night he slept by garbage while the city was in panic. He slipped on his headphones and turned on his ipod. More metal music began to play. It matched the scene very well.

Cars were overturned and police were arresting everyone who wasn’t locked inside a shelter. Riley would be in trouble if he stayed outside any longer. He walked out of the alley he was in and peered around a corner cautiously looking for police and rough figures. The streets seemed to be empty and every once in a while, people could be seen popping out of sewers and into alleys. It was the public’s only safety.

“Fucking city.” Riley muttered as he gripped his guitar case.

He found a payphone and dialed a number, which he knew all too well. The dial tone rang a few times. “Hello?”

It was Riley’s friend Sarah. “Hey its me Riley.” He said hurriedly. “Has the same thing happened on your end as well?”

“Riley!” gasped Sarah. “Oh! Yes, I’m fine, I’m in a house with a family and some other strangers. Where are you? This isn’t your apartment number! I tried calling five times.”

“I don’t know what’s going on, people are all over the streets, getting arrested and getting killed. I got locked out of my building. I don’t think anywhere is open.” Explained Riley.

There was a long pause on the other end of the phone. “Sarah? Sarah?” Riley asked.

“Just be careful and get to a safe area. Call me when you’re safe.” Went Sarah’s voice

*Click* The phone had disconnected. “Dammit!” screamed Riley in frustration.

He went out to venture into the wild streets of NewYork City for shelter.

Orin strode into the Alexis labs. Yes, this had to be done. He watched the scientists work away at their machines. “These toys will be mine in a minute.” With this Orin Began slashing away at the innocence.

Meanwhile

King Henry had gotten all of his notes together and began to make his speech…

Phallia walked into the town of Cia and the Mana Tree was in a shamble. All the villagers were in a panic and none were in any shape to give directions to her for lodging and information. It was understandable. Their lifeblood had just been destroyed and those closest to the tree had suffered major physical injuries. As much as she loved to assist the wounded, Phallia headed towards a tavern along the outlying ring od the town. It was hardly affected and Phallia nodded inapproval as she stepped in, cloak, armour scythe and all.

Information came instantly to her lap as Phallia overheard a woman with a mysterious air speak with an old man, obviously a local. It appeared that the tree was assauted by a man of elven descent. Her pilgrimage dictates that she must assist to those in need, and the country indeed needs help. Maybe it was to her advantage to see if this woman had any more information? Tugging her hood a bit lower, Phallia walked towards the woman checking into a room, her boots clinking melodiciously on the floor before trying to catch the woman's attention.

Ahem. Excuse me ma'am. I overheard your conversation with the elderly gentleman and i can't help but say, i am interested in any information you may be able to offer in regards to the recent attack on the Mana tree and where the said elven man had ran to. None of the locals seem fit to be able to tell me anything in detail, so i was hoping that you would share what you have gathered...if that isnt too troublesome?

Ahrexian had woken early that morning and left the room silently, without checking the other beds, he assumed the others would still be asleep.
He roamed the town for several hours before crowds began to gather for the kings speech that was customary before the start of each festival.
As the crowd gathered he found himself next to a man in a bright green robe with his hood pulled up.
"Why would he have his hood up? It's hardly cold" Ahrexian thought to himself before disregarding the man.
The king started his speech, but as Ahrexian turned to comment something to the man who had been there, he noticed he was moving away from the crowd.
Intrigued, Ahrexian followed he him in the direction of the castle, he would have no problem getting in as he was bringing a message to the king anyway...

"Ugh," Mystro let out as he awaoke. His eyes remained shut, as he rested still. In his head he began to think...The pain is gone...I wonder if the doctor came in yet. Looking at his body, he noticed he had gone back to normal. The sun must be out now. I wonder what time it is? I better get up.

Mystro stood and looked around him. The man named Ahrexian must have already awakened, as he was not in his bed. Mystro saw the other feline assassin laying in her bed, but he was unsure of the state. He was unfamiliar with all species other than the demons he had slain, and humans, so his senses would have to be rebuilt due to amnesia.

How convenient...A dragoons senses are mostly stored in what it is that I have lost...memory. And not only that, but I have to relearn all the different signs of different species...

Mystro stood up, and looked at Virginia, whome still layed. He decided to head out the door now. When he reached the exit, a man in white had stopped him. "Excuse me sir, is your name Mystro?"

Mystro was alarmed by this and said defensively, "If it is?"

"I am the doctor, I didnt get a chance to examine you last night because when I arived, the three of you were asleep."

Mystro then went at ease and responded in a light tone, "Yes, I'm Mystro. I feel fine today."

"I would still like to examine you if thats is alright with you?"

"No need, I am a dragoon, and last night was the new moon, I am fine." Before letting the doctor respond, he left the door. He felt several presences in the area due to the festival, but two stood out greatly. He could sense Ahrexian moving away from him, but he could also sense a strong evil. He feared something bad would happen. It was a calme day for Mystros mind, so the likelyhood of him losing sanity was rather low, but he didnt want to risk it.

He decided to follow his sense of where Ahrexian was, and he soon was able to see him as he was walking. Mystro kept following, but said no words, he would test the man if he could stop a behind attack. If so, he would be a good ally to fight with. If not, he would only explain his story to prevent confusion, and leave him be.

Virginia woke up shortly after Ahrexian did, despite not making a sound (as far as humans go) she heard him as if he was trying to sneak out. Mystro however left after the doctor came in. The doctor went back downstairs.

After he left, Virginia put her knife, still under the pillow back into her sheath and jumped out the window onto a roof of another house. From there, she continued jumping from rooftop to rooftop. She did not need to worry about avoiding attention, since they would be focused on the new technologies the people of Siard are witnessing.

While on a rooftop, Virginia saw Ahrexian, following a man with a horrible green cloak. Knowing that the mercenari (mercenary) would need someone to watch his back, she decided to shadow the pair from the rooftops.

((OOC: @Tipsy: I'm gonna take the bait on Oliver's 'church killings' event. Seems interesting. You're welcome to come with if you like. In fact, that might be kind of interesting, considering Phallia's connection to a church. Anyway. /ramble. I'll try to leave you an in.))

so i was hoping that you would share what you have gathered...if that isnt too troublesome?

"To be honest, I don't know much." Kyrie turned and took a look at the woman speaking to her. Well... girl would seem to be more accurate. She was very young looking, almost childish. Cherubic, even. Kyrie's first instinct was to take her lightly, but at the same time she could feel a strength emanating from the girl.

"The old man said the elf was acting strangely and hurried out of town just before the ground started shaking. Said he made for Siard." Kyrie paused, considering. "I think I'm going to head after him tomorrow morning." Turning, Kyrie took a step toward her room. "I'm sorry to be so abrupt, but I have been traveling all day and I'm exhausted. So I'm going to turn in for the night. May the Wind be at your back."

With a gesture of farewell, Kyrie headed down the hallway toward the room she had booked for the night. As the town catered to tourism, the room was very comfortable and quite spacious. A basin in one corner was filled with warm water for washing. Next to it was a wardrobe for visitors staying over many nights. The bed was well-made and larger than anything Kyrie was used to.

Feeling a draft blow through the room, Kyrie looked to the window on the far side and noticed it was open. As she went over to close it, a flash of light from the church across the way grabbed her attention. She looked at the front of the church. What she saw chilled her to the core. The head priestess stood at the entrance, a sanctified staff in her hands. She performed a warding ritual, blessing the church and protecting it against harm. In the darkness of the night sky just above the roof, Kyrie saw a shimmer. It was nothing she could make out specifically, simply an area of darker blackness. Kyrie knew it could only be one thing. A demon.

There was a chance the demon could be tied to the earthquake or the explosion at the Mana Tree. Stealing a longing glance at her bed that would likely not be slept in tonight, Kyrie headed out of her room, out of the tavern, and over to the church. The priestess still stood at the entrance, finishing her ritual. Kyrie waited patiently for her to finish, then approached.

"Excuse me, Holy Mother?" Kyrie paused as the middle-aged woman turned her gaze toward the Haari. She realized she didn't exactly know how to broach the subject. "What ... um .... what's going on? I saw the demon. At least, I think that's what I saw. Can I help you in any way?"

((OOC:Tipsy, yoou can choose to already be there, but be hidden while the priestess talks if you choose...))

"What ... um .... what's going on? I saw the demon. At least, I think that's what I saw. Can I help you in any way?"

Shia, the high priestess turned in suprise at this question. She stared at the young woman for a moment before realizing. "It's...Kyrie isn't it?" began the woman. "Yes, it is you. I believe there are seven more of you close by in the vicinity."

The priestess walked inside the empty temple and made a gesture for Kyrie to follow. "Yes, it is a blessing that you have come here this night. Only the Tree's grace could have brought you all here in such a close range..."

The priestess stopped in her walking as she reached the doors of the main hollow chapel. "You came seeking information. Please, listen closely as it will be your job to share this with the others...Yes, the Mana Tree has been attacked, but not by an ordinary person. The scent of the demon Laeifal could be sensed in the tree, and it's pulse is weakening. This can only mean one thing: Falacore's prophecy is coming true...It is possible that the demon is returning after his thousand year slumber. Seeing that the Tree has guided you here, there can be no doubt about it.

For years we of the Thelmacain church have been trying to prevent the distruction that's to be caused by Laefal. We have been spreading peace to all, making sure to keep the morals of Agia positive....But it seems that a man has slipped through this crack. A man, most likely a servant of the foul demon is seeking to ressurect him and cause harm."

At this the priestess pulled out a text from her robes and showed it to her. "This is the original script of Falacores prophecy. 'On the coldest mountain, in the hottest desert, in the oceans fountain, in the skies of Levert, There lies four spheres..."The pristess trailed off.

"You must come with me to the great Tree. The Mana Tree is Weakening and I fear that I may not be able to save it unless I get the Hero from the Mana Tree, or in this case, Heroes..." Shia said as she grabbed her staff. "Yes, it was demons who were summoned her, and they will come again, much stronger unless you agree to aid me. Our fist task would be to gather a young woman who resides in Cia right now. I believe her name is Phallia...So please wont you aid me?"

As he reached the walls of the castle Ahrexian heard a noise behind him.
Drawing his sword and spinning on the spot he stopped the blow the dragoon was attempting to strike him with.
"You followed me?" he said. "Well, I was following someone here, but I lost him, not sure where he is inside the castle, but we can get almost anywhere, I've got this."
Ahrexian drew a small golden token from a pouch and showed it to Mystro.
"It's a royal seal, I was escorting a royal messenger here last night when everything happened, but he was lost. Luckily I took the message from him before we entered the woods. However I'm unsure where to go from here, all I know is I must speak to the king as soon as is possible."

Virginia continued to follow Ahrexian until she reached the closest roof to the castle walls. From there she looked on as Ahrexian turned around and found Mystro was tailing him. Overhearing on the conversation without them noticing, she heard that the man he was escorting was a messenger to the king, and was carrying a royal seal. Something in her mind was telling her that they may still need help, but she will have to find another way in to the castle...

OOC: Cassino, head off into the church first and ill meet you inside in my next post. Makes it seem more accidental and a coincident.

Btw, i changed her staff and will be updating her actual bio soon. Ill pm you abt it later Cassino. Her staff now looks like this where at the bottom of the spear head is her church symbol with a single blue crystal at the middle whilst the actual spearhead is a large fleur de lis

The sky had turned into twilight before long and into night while Phallia probed around the tavern and her room. Disrobing herself and placing her weapons in a respectful manner deserving of any living companions, Phallia performed her usual maintenance and cleansing of her body with water. A late night stroll was on her agenda as this type of cool weather was one of her favourite. A breeze blew through the open window, flapping the curtains and revealed as a silhoutte, a spire of a church, before the moon hid back behind clouds.

"Interesting... maybe a visit to a holy place may assist in my pilgrimage..."

Pulling her now clean armour back on, clipping on her multiple weapons and swinging her cloak over her shoulders and head, Phallia left the comfort of her room with her staff in hand. The tavern master's head spun around as he heard the clink of Phallia's boots and walked towards the warrior.

"Ma'am, do you intend on going out at this horrid hour? I advice against it, with the mana tree in this state and odd beasts appearing from nowhere.

"I will be fine, thank you for your concern. I am quite capable of protecting myself. I will see you when i return, tavern master."

The master stared at Phallia as she continued through the door, in shock at the guts of the young girl. From his eyes, she looked barely mid teens. It was madness to let her go, but he was unwilling to risk his own for that of a stranger.

Once outside, Phallia clamped both hands on her staff and muttered softly. The blue crystal sphere began glowing and before long a small sphere of soft white light engulfed Phallia, brightening up anything in a two meter circle.

"Right...let us go then. To the church."

((OOC: Gotcha. Will do. This'll be short, just to get in the church.))

Our fist task would be to gather a young woman who resides in Cia right now. I believe her name is Phallia...So please wont you aid me?"

"Yes. Yes, of course. But as it is very late at night, and considering what happened to the Tree recently, it's probably best if I don't wander through the town knocking on doors looking for this 'Phallia.' I'll have to wait until morning." Kyrie paused, a thought forming in her mind. "Holy Mother, may I borrow your library? I'd like to do some research into this ... Laefal."

The priestess inclined her head graciously, and led Kyrie into the church and into the small library, which housed holy texts as well as arcane ones. Kyrie located a scroll that detailed some of the known demons of the world and searched for the one called Laefal.

As Ahrexian turned around to face Mystro, He had decided Ahrexian was good enough to follow. At least until he had regained his memory. "You followed me?" Ahrexian said quickly.

"Yes, I never got a chance to thank you for last night. Where are you going anyway?"

"Well, I was following someone here, but I lost him, not sure where he is inside the castle, but we can get almost anywhere, I've got this."

Mystro watched as the Handyman pulled out a glimmering golden pendant. It was obviously woh some great value by the appearance, but its meaning was foreign to his eyes. "And that is?" At this point Mystro recognized the presence of Virginia, but chose to ignore it due to its distance. He believed she was going out on her own way.

"It's a royal seal, I was escorting a royal messenger here last night when everything happened, but he was lost. Luckily I took the message from him before we entered the woods. However I'm unsure where to go from here, all I know is I must speak to the king as soon as is possible."

"Well I cannot help you for where to go but I can thank you by assisting you in any way you so desire. I am your trusted ally." Mystro said all this with his eyes showing nothing but loyal honesty.

Whoever this man was he was unsure, but the fact was that he had helped Mystro, so to Mystro, he was an ally. He had already decided to watch Ahrexians behavior closely, and if what Ahrexian's goal was did not prove to be worth his while, he would leave Ahrexian, and depeding on mental state, try killing him. But Mystro felt as though he had a strong grip on his mentality.

"Well I'm glad this is what you have decided. We should probably head into the castle and search for anything unusual."
With that Ahrexian moved into the castle and began to systematically search it's cavernous halls for anything out of the ordinary, somewhere the man could be hiding.
Every time he came across a guard he waved himself through using the seal, and after a while it was obvious word had spread as he wasn't bothered by any more guards.
"It's quiet considering the festival has started, I have a bad feeling about this..."
