I love this game! I'm almost done with my first play through, and I can already see myself playing it again. The characters, the music, the setting, the story; it's all great. It could quite possibly be my favorite FF, with VII and X close behind it.

The game is pretty cool. The characters are great (maybe not Quina, whatever that is) the story is awesome so yes, it's a great game!

Love this game, playing through again right now. Still fitting it into my uni life haha. Most annoying thing: trance. If you could save it for an important battle like in ff7 it would be so much more useful.

I hated it. I had a hard time getting into this game. I was surprised that I even got far to disc 2 but I ended up taking a break from the game at one point. When I decided to go back to work on it again after 2 months had pass, I forgot where I was suppose to go and just didn't bother with the game since then. The characters seemed too childlike and battle system wasn't to my liking. The only thing that I seem to enjoyed at times was some of the music but that was it.

I loved this game. when I got it I played it for hours. one time I played this game for a day without sleeping and breaks. The reason why is because I got sucked in the abilty and battle system. after I beat the game my destructive sister put my mom's lipstick on the game and she broke it.

I liked this game, but not as much as VII or VIII i think one reason is that i lost it so have only played through it once, and that was quite a few years ago, I might try and find another copy and play again, then id have a better idea.

I always assumed a lot of the die hard fans really liked this game as it went back to the roots of Final fantasy.

I liked the art work, and the graphics were amazing for a ps1 game, but it was a little fairytale for me

This game was cool though, I liked how every character had their own problems to deal with, in FFVII and VIII they all had the same problems: Guy with bid sword=bad or Sorceress=bad (lol i do love these too :) )
But each character had a specific thing that was on their mind at all times, although Quina just didn't care. Vivi was the best though he was only nine.

People hate this game for the same reason they hate XII and VIII, square changed it up on them too much. It's not a problem for me, i love the game really, though i love just about every FF game that is out, truth be told. I really don't mind that they switched the art style back to the way it had vaguely been in VII, and i really actually love all the side quests that are offered. Though by far what i loved most about it was the chocobo item hunting and digging and stuff. It made me feel great every time i got on my chocobo and music started playing and i could run or fly around digging things up, or getting things out of the water.

final fantasy is the first game i bought (having ff7 & ff8 being given to me for free)

and i must say i love it, i fell in love with the story line, the characters, all of them unique and adding something to the story, i love the areas and the atmosphere of the destinations you visited.

look at zidane for instance, sure he may be a womanizer but he is a lovable character, who says "i dont need a reason to help people", often shows that he has a heart,

everybody loves vivi, he's the confused little boy we all wana help through his time of need, and as he is so little he is innocent and is a great aspect for the character

as for garnet, she is probably my fav ff girl, stuggling with her duty and what is right, she is struggling to do what is write for her people

as for the gameplay, i like that they brought back a kind of job system back in, it adds to the straedgy, unlike ff12 where you only need 3 characters. you have to use all the characters in this game, and i like how the game splits of in two when garnet and steiner go off on there own, and how the story builds up with the ATB thing 9 i think thts wat its called)

I LOVE IT!!!!

Let's begin this with a story... My brother taught me how to play games since I was about 5 or 6. The first games I ever played were Final Fantasy games. He had a friend who introduced the series to him, then my brother taught/told me... My mother went and bought 7, 8, and 9! I played them, but I couldn't beat 7 and 8... But when I played 9, I immediately fell in love with it, also falling for Zidane. :inlove: It was the first game I was able to beat and it was the game where I completed all the secrets, except for one: the secret boss battle in the Chocobo Air Garden. And I still suck at the card game.
THE END

With all that said and done, I just have to say that it's one of my favorite games because of the story and characters, as well as the music. I love the ending theme "Melodies of Life" and sing it almost everyday. It's a beautiful song. My friends only know FF7, but I plan to get them hooked on FF9 very soon. Then they'll be Zidane fans... like me. :D (I'm magical like that... :giggle:) Anyway, that's my reason for loving FF9. I grew up with this and still play it today. It's one of my absolute, dying favorites. "Forever and beyond." :)

I liked this game a lot. Meaning loved really. I would wager it is my favorite FF game that I have played thus far, probably followed by XII, then VIII and VII.

Why? Well I liked it because of its environment. I like the games based off fantasy like this. What's more I throughly enjoyed the side quests be it playing cards, hunting for treasure, or catching frogs. And of course I absolutely loved the characters. It was very refreshing to come away from the drama in VII and VIII and instead encounter lighthearted conversations.

However it is these very things that make me love it, that make people hate it. Whats more a lot of people have a tendency to compare Final Fantasy games to other Final Fantasy games. This leads to a big problem since many people consider VII the best game they have ever played. Meaning anything not as good as it was 'not that good.' But really what they need to do is compare it to another game such as "Jade Cacoon 2." If they did that maybe they would see how good of a game FFIX was and would show it the love it deserves.

I loved this game, it was so awesome! :D
The thing I like the most about it is the fact that it returned to the series roots, although FF VII and VIII were still brilliant this had more of a nostalgic theme if you ask me. And of course the characters are just hilarious. And of course...Vivi!!!:D

I think is alright, the storyline is fine, the characters are alright, but I dislike Quina, he/she doesn't make any use to me, I love princess Garnet/Dagger, she had a little bit look-a-like Rinoa, don't you think?

the fact that zidane is a ladies man makes thsi game awesome. i mean , of course i love our moody men, but its refreshing to see a character whos so alive and energitic

go zidane

but for the record, cloud would cut him in half wit 1 cut

I love FFIX, its probably one of the more underrated games I can say I've played. Love the story and characters it has.

Its my first FF love~~ (Erm..that sounds odd >.> XD)
Ive always loved this game! Everything about it! I felt so connected to the characters, and the story sucked me right in! I cannot understand how anyone would hate it personally ^^;; (No offence to anyone..)
xD

I liked this game. The ability system was kinda hard, having to have a weapon equipped for a while to learn it, but other than that, it was awesome.

Love It! Beautiful!
