Interest check - Pokemon

I've been thinking on things like that, and I think the solution is to just have Pokemon learn the moves that they would have learned if they were that Pokemon to begin with. So, when your Charmeleon evolves into Charizard, say, it'll know the moves it would have learned levelling up as a Charizard, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Also, you're going to have to bear with me here...since I'm now running the FFXIII RP as well, I need to try and get things organized...I'll still endeavour to get it set up by the end of this week though, so we can start by the 21st. Once I've gotten the map finished, it shouldn't take me too long to get everything else done...
 
I'd like to reserve elite four member, number 3 who will specialise in Dark types, assuming you're still taking sign ups.

And for a starter I think I'll go for....

Um, Chikorita I guess, all the good ones are sort of gone...
 
well considering the fact that nobody else wants to, i shall take on the role of Commander 1 for all intents and purposes (being as it's only really for battles)
 
I'd like to reserve an Elite 4 spot as well, #1 of the Elite 4 with specialization in Psychic types.
 
X3 my character shall be accompanied by his brother up to the first town. During that time, I plan for them to have a one-on-one battle, the big bro using a Dratini, and it shall be epic. Well, once I figure out the winner.

My chars will be up for a two-v-two battle up till the first town, where the big bro shall take his leave. At that point, I plan on having caught a pidgey...
 
If I am a Gym Leader, can I also be a separate character Trainer?

if yes, how would my gym battle against myself work?

And can I Be a trainer with starter as Totodile or Oshawott (if Totodile is taken) if the trainer character and gym character are different :)

I plan on being the 'mean' Trainer who has power issues and treats his pokemon like poop. (like the dude in Pokemon gold/silver) And needs life lessons from other trainers on how to treat his own pokemon :P

Still, I wouldn't mind fighting with you, or alongside you, during the course of the game.
 
Well we can definitely fight one another! I want to be a 'loner' who fights everyone to gain power and throws massive tantrums when I don't win. I imagine later in the RP I may have to team up unwillingly to fight the bad guys :D
 
Sounds fun!

I think a few fights to establish who is who before we even reach the first town is in order. Plenty of ground to cover.
 
Ok I figured out that my Gym Badge is going to be called The "Tesla Badge" and I'll draw it up when I create my Character sheets :D

Edit: made a character sheet for my Gym Leader (was bored at work). Where should I post it? :)

I was wondering; are we all going to start off in the same town as pokemon trainers or are we all going to start off in different towns (like three people per town; three pokemon per town)?

On a less serious note, I was thinking about making my character a rather voluptuous female wearing a white t-shirt who can't help but get watergun'd by her Squirtle. :wacky:
 
That would be epic funny. It would be a perfect funny moment for the series.

I wonder if my char and yours could travel around... just because I want to have my character do a follow-up of passing out every time for a while before he finally gets used to it (and then chuckles at other people, like his big bro)
 
Is there a certain profile mold we need to use to create our characters?

For my trainer Bio I'll put the name, age, gender, larger bio, likes, dislikes and I'll either draw what he looks like or describe him
 
I meant was there a certain way the rp creator wants the profiles to be done out. Some rp's, especially ones where there are different character 'groups', have different character layouts. For instance, we may have to say what moves our trainer's Pokemon knows, but we might be allowed to not mention what moves a Gym Leader or Elite 4's Pokemon's moves are, to allow for an element of surprise.
 
ah cool. Ok well i added my gym pokemon's Moves in but if we all prefer they weren't shown then I'll delete before posing the bio

Just to clarify, starter trainers and gym leaders etc ARE different. You can't have a Gym Leader starting with the starter trainers. xD

None of the roles on the first page are just battle roles. Just as the Gym Leaders and Elite Four members will travel around (much as they do in the anime) so too will the Commanders. In fact, I'm counting on the Commanders to give the Gym Leaders etc something to do most of the time!

Yes, you can be. I'm going to allow people to play up to three characters, consisting of one Gym Leader/Elite Four member, one starter trainer, and one Commander. For the moment. If slots for other Gym Leaders aren't taken, I'll open those up for anyone who wants them...or create some NPCs for them and either control them myself when they're wanted for battles, or leave them so that anyone can use them. Depends on how people want to play this.

You'd conduct the entire battle yourself, naturally. xD

Every starter trainer will start off in the same town to begin with (although that doesn't mean you all have to be from that town, of course) although you can go off in groups however it pleases you, and I'm going to design the map with a few forks in the road past the second town, giving people opportunity to explore, etc. The routes are only a general guideline though, you can deviate off them and wander around.

There will be, yes.

Regarding Pokemon moves, you won't be required to put those in (if people want to know what moves your Pokemon has, they can use it's level as a guideline, which will be one of the fields) except for the additional four egg/move tutor/TM/HM moves that I'm going to allow everyone who isn't a starter trainer. If you want to keep those as a surprise, then you can PM them to me, and I'll leave them out of your profile until you use them.

Don't worry, I'll include an explanation of the less-obvious elements of the bio when I make the OC thread...which will be sometime this week, hopefully.

OK, now for some general points...
1) Your opposition will be named Team Sol, and their objective will be to first capture the Legendary Dogs (one per Commander, and yes, Commanders will get them on their teams once they succeed) and then Ho-oh, for the purpose of burning the continent to ashes and then resurrecting the life that they see as worthy of existence. Purification, of sorts. Of course, the leader (whose code name shall be Lord Invictus) will have motives of his own.
2) If people want to start writing up their bios, I'll post an application template either tonight or tomorrow. However, I'm not accepting any bios until the OC thread is up, so I'd prefer if you didn't post them or PM me anything until that time. Not to mention that, until I complete the map, you won't be able to complete your bio anyway, because you won't have a home town. xD
3) You'll be getting your starters from my Elite Four character, because having a one-off Professor role would bother me, and I want an excuse for her to be there.

i already said i wanted totodile on the first page, him or pikachu i said if i remember correctly, im sure i asked before pink squid. whats going on?
 
One last question now that I took a look at the b/w serebii list: Will we be able to use Dream World abilities if a Pokemon has one? For instance, the Torchic line has the DW ability Speed Boost instead of Blaze.
