Land of Dragons

His thirst for power brought him to plunge himself into an unending darkness, his soul now lost to evil. The mad doctor now a half dragon-half human mutant, quickly headed towards Hera Ledro, unaware the Hera was not alone. He soon arrive to the scenario, hovering in mid air while starring to both Hera and the unknown warrior. The terrain was deserted, the fauna and flora were little. The wind blew, bringing the heat of the sun with it, as if it were carrying death alongside that burning warm. The clouds were fewer, the sun warmed Julius' back and wings. His eyes burning with a purple flame, Sunaki's evil could be seen within him. Suddenly Julius transformed, his appearance less grotesque and more divine. His wings were now dark with silver patterns all around. His chest was covered by a powerful black plate mail with runes carved on it. His legs and feet were protected by strong, but light weigh, metal plates. Now instead of an arm sword, he had two sharp set of talons, his right talon holding tightly a bizarre shaped sword. The sword was single edged, shaped like a widened "V" with a hilt that resemblances the roots of a tree embracing the earth, in this case, Julius' right claw.

"So the pawn reaches the end of the board....Hera....where's Jake? I need him to be complete..."

Jake jumped up to go and meet the others. He was amazed. He'd never seen anybody that actually made his grandfather work like that.

Actually, Jake thought, That's not true. Sukani and Boromyo have fought him before, and he had to transform further to fight them.

The wind blew harshly through his hair as he flew across the desert. But something slowed him. He noticed a dark spot approaching them, but had dismissed it as a bird.

Now, however, Jake knew something was wrong. He stopped abruptly and stared at the creature, who had evidently not seen him.

It wasn't long before Jake saw a change in the creature. He was startled by how revolting it was, like some sort of monstrosity. Even so, it's grotesque features were very much...ascended...

He couldn't think of any other words. He transformed into a Dragon immediately, and flared his ears to hear what the creature was saying. He noticed that Hera saw this creature as well.

"So the pawn reaches the end of the board....Hera....where's Jake? I need him to be complete..."

Jake's mouth opened in horror. It was Argexis. He recognized the voice, though it was somewhat different, and Jake could swear that he felt two powers from within the same body.

He made to fly over to his grandfather and Hudson, but a sharp thought from Hera pushed him back. Stay where you are, he wants you, not us. Leave, get out of here as fast as you can. Jake hesitated, and Hera's voice became more fierce and urgent. That's an order Jake, leave now!

Hera stared at the grotesque image of Julius. He was changed, even from the radical changes he'd been through before. It doesn't matter, Hera thought, transforming instantly, He's still not going to be powerful enough to win against me.

Out of the corner of his mouth, Hera spoke to Hudson. "Get out of here now, meet up with Jake. I'll take care of Argexis."

Hera turned back to Argexis, and declared fiercely, "It's not going to matter anyways." Hera drew his massive blade with one hand and pointed it at Argexis. "Either you leave, and never come back, or you die. Here and now. Which is it Argexis?"

The demonic demon hovered in midair as he looked upon his opponents standing on the middle of a wasteland. Argexis smirked as he slightly touched the tip of his blade with his left hand, the right hand grasping tightly the hilt of the sword. His eyes burning with greed and hatred, two beings merged within a single body and becoming a single soul with dual identities. Now fused with Sukani as he was, Argexis was capable of using most of Sukani's dragonic abilities, as well as enhanced versions of his past human abilities. Julius grinned evilly, aiming his newly created sword to Hera Ledro defiantly. "Such arrogance Hera. Your overconfidence will be your downfall. Just like they say: "Twice the pride, double the fall". Now mighty "hero", step aside and let Jake fulfill the destiny for which he was born; to become my most powerful weapon and together destroy all who opposes me."

"What the hell is going on?"

Hudson was confused, though not for long. Regrettably, the lack of attention he paid to his senses only awarded him with being caught unawares. And it only took one glance to tell that this new character was going to be trouble. THe damnedest thing though: he kind of resembled Hera... sort of.

He had berly noticed that his hand gripped his blade so tightly that it began to shake. But from the looks of it, he could tell that it was Hera's fight. He must've wanted it that way.

It was shame though, he really wanted to fight him.

"Such arrogance Hera. Your overconfidence will be your downfall. Just like they say: "Twice the pride, double the fall". Now mighty "hero", step aside and let Jake fulfill the destiny for which he was born; to become my most powerful weapon and together destroy all who opposes me."

Said the stranger.

"Well then, I guess that it can't be helped..."

Replied Hudson.

"I know how these things go, and trust me on this. I know what it's like to be in yours and Jakes predicament. Thoug I have to say, that my opponents have never been that strong looking. So I guess that what I have to say is... Kick his ass Hera!"

And then he took off, trying to catch up to Jake.

"Permit me to ask....who said YOU were leaving!?"

An enraged Julius aimed his left hand towards the fleeing Hudson, thus transforming his left arm into a hand cannon and then unleashing a powerful bolt of energy that exploded several feet before Hudson, blocking his path with a barrier of flames. Then he shot once again, now to a section behind Hudson, and again and again until he surrounded Hudson with a wide barrier of flames. Hovering as he was in mid air, his wings flapping his wings slowly to keep himself a float. He grinned evilly with satisfaction as he managed to prevent his enemies from escaping, now he set his attention on Hera Ledro.

Defiantly, he slowly flew towards Hera and aimed his hand cannon to the dragon warrior. As he approached, Julius could feel the hearts of Jake and Hera Ledro beating, their dragon blood running through their veins with power.

Jake crouched behind a rock. He knew Hera told him to leave, but it wouldn't hurt if he stuck around a few miles off. He had a feeling that Argexis couldn't sense yet, and even if he could, Jake had his power suppressed so that he seemed like a normal kid.

He'd watch. If Hera got into trouble, he would jump in. Jake grinned slightly. Him actually rescuing his grandfather instead of the other way around.

Hera laughed at Argexis' attempt at flaunting his power. No holding back then, Hera thought. He didn't even move as he transformed, the golden flames rising around him instantly, licking his every limb.

With a wave of his hand, Hera summoned forth a gale of wind. This wind, coupled with the sand that it blew, cleared the flames in front of Hudson. Hera left the ones behind him intact, so that Hudson would be forced to leave. Nobody was going to get hurt while he was here.

He then turned his attention to Argexis, who was approaching him slowly. Hera noticed the cannon on his arm and laughed even harder. "Haahaahaa! I can't believe that you think you can beat me by mutating your DNA and transmuting a gun and sword into your arms!" Turning serious, he scoffed the abomination. "You just don't know when to quit, do you." It was not a question. "What makes you think that this newfound power of your can even match up to mine?" Hera made sure not to mention that he would need to transform again to be able to beat Argexis. He would wear him down with this form first, and then transform. He wouldn't bother wasting precious energy without due cause.

Hera cracked his neck. "Alright, Argexis, if this is the way it's going to be. I'm not even using anywhere near my full power, and I'll still be able to beat you. You want to know how? Well, you'll have to find out the hard way."

Hera slashed sideways with his fingers as he leapt into the air. A razor-thin wave of energy energed from them, sweeping towards Argexis in an arc, threatening to slice him in half. And with very little energy cost, too.

"So be it..."

Argexis did not move to avoid the attack, instead he opted for blocking it with his transmuted sword. As he rose his blade, the energy wave was clashed against Argexis' sword and was nullified by the magic of the dragon warrior, of course at the cost of some magical energy as well. Argexis then lowered his sword and remained with his eyes fixed on Hera Ledro, the expression of his face was serious and filled with a grudge against Hera and Jake.

"You actually do not recognize me....brother..."

Strangely, the color of Argexis's eyes changed, turning into deep crimson with a yellow border, his sight had the light of death demanding a sacrifice of flesh and blood. His aura changed as well, the shift of identities was triggered, now his aura shined around him like bluish white flames.

"I am disappointed....don't you remember me....Hera Ledro of the Allsie?"

Hera laughed at the minute display of power, the air reverberating as he hovered. "You know what, I don't. You are Julius Argexis, and have known of me for only a few decades, if that. I am Hera Ledro, far older than your entire bloodline combined. How you delude yourself into calling me 'old friend' is beyond me."

"And please, don't hurt yourself trying to impress me. It won't work. By stopping that pitifully weak attack, you only showed that you need to use your magic to defend yourself." Hera's eyes narrowed as he spoke. "Yes, I can feel it. You used a portion of your power to stop that attack. You forget, I can sense energy." Hera tapped his temple. "I can feel it every time you use magic to do anything."

Hera floated, waiting for Argexis to attack. Defeating him wouldn't be a simple matter, but it would be much easier than if he had to fight Sukani.

OOC: Alright, I set the entrance up for him, Julius. And remember, he's not a 'friend' of Hera's, he is bretheren.

(You'll win this battle, as usual since this is far from being the ending. I need more information about Sukani in order to avoid a few mistakes XD)

"Keep shielding your pitiful beliefs with your refusal to accept the truth brother..."

Julius' aura increased by the second, his genetic structure completely altered by Sukani's dark powers. As he toyed with their minds, tossing fragments of information to confuse them, Sukani-Julius continued to yearn for Jake's power. "Enough of your non stopping meddling brother. I shall finish now what I failed to accomplish many centuries ago....your demise...."

Sukani-Julius gave an inhuman battle cry that made the heavens tremble with fear, the amount of hatred contained within him was fueled by the anger he felt towards Hera Ledro. As he grasped the hilt of his transmuted sword, he dashed towards Hera Ledro at a blinding speed, and performed a downward slash. Not waiting for a possible counter attack, Sukani-Julius made an upward slash from left to right.

"Jake..."

Hudson thought. It must've been a pain for him, with such a being on his case. Was this what they needed to save the world from?

Nah, Hera wasn't having that hard a time with this guy.

But Hudson's mind was sent ablazing. The very fact that he had come for Jake implied that there was somebody else that he was in cahoots with.

Was he an agent sent by some sort of organization? Was he hired by an organization? How he ached to draw his sword, and beat whatever he was into a pulp so he could question him!

But he couldn't. It was Hera's fight. He needed to meet up with Jake and decide on their next plan of action.

Hera laughed. He raised his sword and parried the attack; the flash of the speedy blade would have blinded an unwary foe. Quick as lightning, Hera split the sword and blocked the attack with the bladein his right hand. Hera now realized who was influencing Argexis.

"Please," Hera mocked. "It's been more than two million years since you tried to kill me. You haven't succeeded up till now, Sukani, what makes you think this time will be any different."

Hera's arm was stock still, pushing hard against his foe's blade. He didn't let the strain show on his face, nor in his voice, but he was amazed at Argexis' strength. Sukani must have used his old tricks to break into the mind.

Suddenly, Hera shot back, wings folded forward to reduce the drag. He made a series of slashes with his twin swords, so fast it was difficult for him to see.

He unfurled his wings, braking in the air. With a flourish, Hera re-fused his sword and roared, whirling around with a diagonal slash as he shot back after the possessed Argexis.

"Ah because this time I do not fear to sacrifice this body to kill you, because it isn't mine!!!"

With much difficulty, Ju-Sukani deflected Hera's attacks with his blade, and eluded the last one by using his wings to propel himself away from Hera's range. Though eluded by mere inches, Ju-Sukani could have sworn he felt that blade as if he had slashed his chest wide open, though all of this was in his mind.

"Why Hera? Why are you always standing in my way? I came here to take what it's rightfully hours! The full control of this planet and the extermination of all of those who oppose them. They should not be shown an ounce of leniency for all the vile crimes they have committed without a good reason..."

Ju-Sukani summoned energy from within his body to transmute his sword into a giant scythe, with claws and teeth all around its monstrous curved blade. "I am an instrument of death. I am life's executioner, the reaper of souls! Harvester of sins and pain! Judge and jury! My court is the heaven and humans are the criminals!"

His eyes widened in anger as the pupils of his eyes became reddish black, he tightened the grasp of his scythe, and with a powerful and fearsome force he sent it hurling like a ravenous tornado towards Hera Ledro. Then he flew high and came rushing down, his wings now folded to avoid air resistance, increasing the speed of his movement. He was heading towards Hera Ledro.

"Dammit," Hera muttered. Sukani's gotten smarter...who'd'a thunk it? Hera grinned. With a roa, Hera slashed to the side, catching the scythe and deflecting it. It sank perilously close to his left foot, but Hera had no time to bother with it.

He had little time to counter the oncoming Sukani-possessed Julius. Hera threw his arms up, forcing the blade up with them. The sharp point of the blade was directed straight towards the oncoming Julius.

Ju-Sukani's eyes widened as he sensed the danger he was heading to. As a last resort, Ju-Sukani made a forced turn to the right veering from his course. Actions taken, the result lead him to crash against a pile of rocks that were below him.

"Damn it...clever trick...."

As he stood, he erupted from the pile of rocks like a volcanic eruption, clearly damaged. He saw his scythe and disappointed he summoned it, the weapon flew towards its owner. Ju-Sukani hovered in mid air, staring at Hera Ledro. "Oh just a minor mistake....it happens....good to know this isn't my body....anyhow, soon I'll have Jake's...hehehe...."

Hera laughed. He laughed so hard that his eyes watered and his sides ached. When he'd recovered a few moments later, he looked at Julius and said, "Sukani, have you forgotten that I've drilled him in the ways of blocking you? He knows how to counter your mind control just as I do. Neither of us are fools like Argexis, we know what power is and to handle it carefully."

"Not like you ever have," Hera added mockingly. "Maybe we should start this again, o elder brother." Hera sheathed his sword and thrust his hands forward, blasting a large beam, 3 feet in radius, towards the possessed Argexis. I'm tired of this, Sukani, Hera thought. You're just serving my ends, now, and driving me to get rid of another foe. You play a poor game, brother.

In a sudden act of redemption, Argexis temporarily broke from the mental control Sukani had over his mind. A desperate Argexis placed left hand on his forehead, his eyes and lips tightly closed with agony. "Get out of my head!!!! I won't do this anymore....please release me....I can't go on with this...."

Sukani then retook control, his eyes widened and his malicious sight was fixed on Hera Ledro. "This one is a fool...." Then Argexis took control and urged Hera Ledro to end this. "Please....release me from this sin....let me face the trials of hell for being so easily deceived...." Sukani used a greater effort this time, thus sealing Argexis consciousness within his own mind. "Ah, typical of a human refusing to follow orders. He knew that power came with a price. Now, where were we?"

Sukani sighted the beam of energy heading towards him, and as a arrogantly as he was, he summoned his own energy, placing his hands together and drawing them back next to his torso. "TIME TO DIE!!!!!" A ferocious sphere of black energy gathered within the palm of his hands. Sukani then pushed the ball of energy forward, his palms wide opened releasing a powerful wave of energy that crashed against Hera's attack. Both energy waves struggled against each other with a menacing force.

Hera was surprised by the ferocity and power behind the attack. In fact, the blast managed to push his own a foot or so back before he began to put more energy into it.

With a grunt, Hera increased the energy put into the attack, but with a price. He managed to cancel out the attack, sending both waves flying into space, but he was now at little more than fifty percent energy. It looks like I'll have to transform, after all, Hera thought as he panted. Well, I need to recharge my energy somehow.

As the smoke cleared, Hera transformed. In a blaze of inferno-like energy, Hera's body went through several changes. His body became leaner, sleeker, made for maximum speed. His tail lengthened, and his tail blade and claws became somewhat smaller, but all the sharper because of it. In symbolism of his power, Hera's body now coursed with energy (he was fully charged), and an electrical aura payed homage to it.

"I hope you're ready, Sukani," Hera said. "Because I'm done holding back." Not a second passed before Hera was behind Argexis, his tail blade homing towards the centre of his foe's back.

Despite Sukani's efforts to supress Argexis' spirit, the tormented doctor managed to struggle for control over his body once more, thus limiting Sukani's movement. "Demon...we shall fall together...."

He allowed himself to be caught by the attack on purpose, sensing the hardened scythe like tail piercing his back and sprouting from his chest. Argexis coughed blood convulsively due to the severity of the attack. Sukani recovered control only to realized he was impaled by Hera Ledro. Sukani released himself from the attack, only to fall crashing against the ground, fainting due to blood loss.

OOC: For the record, Julius, Hera's tail blade is scythe-shaped, not spear-shaped :P I'll upload a drawing of it sometime.

IC: Hera smiled grimly at his work. Hopefully, that was one more enemy down. He powered down, reverting to normal form, and took to the skies. With a great burst of energy, he rushed past Hudson and landed near Jake.

Keeping his face grimly serious, Hera told Jake, "Well, that's one down. I just hope we'll be able to take Sukani out too; that's what was going on." Jake was nonplussed, so Hera continued with an explanation.

"It looks like Sukani used that mind-control stuff he used on me on Argexis. I don't know why, even he knows that Argexis won't get any closer to beating me than he will, but from what I could tell, he was using him to get to you."

Jake's eybrows shot up. "What? Why would he be using that fool to get to me?"

"I don't know. But, I guess we'll never know now. It's strange, he's never been after you before...Either way, we should just press on." Hera turned towards Hudson. Raising his voice, he called, "Hey Hudson! We're going to be leaving soon, hurry!"

"Alright alright! But where to?"

Hudson was still a bit confuseded as he beheld grim, yet strangely beautiful spectacle before him. The root of his confusion lay at the complete lack of direction in this new world. He was completely at it's mercy. Instantly, he realized that it wasn't all that bad. If he could have fights this good all the time, he'd be happy.

He furrowed his eyebrows meditatively, trying to decide what he should do.

"Are you going to finish your leftovers, or are we just gonna' split?" Said Hudson, pointing his sheathed blade towards Hera's defeated foe.

Hudson would never never strike a downed foe like that, what with the heartless-ness, dishonor, lack of challenge, messiness, and overall nastiness that went in to such a thing. But he did reckon that it would be a good measurement of character.

Hudson, had measured Hera's physical endurance, and had detmeremined racially, that Allsie endurance on a completely different level. Especially juding by the fact that he'd fought two consecutive all-out fights. But he supposed that that was the nature of Allsie physiology.

It meant to him that he'd have to keep training, working harder than ever. He had resolved that he wouldn't work to surpass Allsie physiology (though it would've been nice), his aim was to be able to keep up with them around their level.
