Miley Cyrus Teaching young girls to... Lap Dance everywhere

I don't care about the whole thing much... it's nothing something I personally would do (mainly because I wouldn't want to do that to a 44-year old)
I dislike Miley anyway but I don't see it as such a massive deal :hmmm:
I think part of my view is to do with the fact that in the UK the age of consent is 16 so, well, here you're perfectly entitled to do what you want at that age whereas in America you're not :hmmm:

Anyway, I dislike her, but I hate the fact that if celebrities do the slightest thing wrong, they get hounded by people. If a normal 16-year-old did this, she wouldn't get half as much critisism, but no, because she's a celebrity she gets everyone talking about it.

They're in the spotlight of lots of people(young and old)she should watch what she does and not do crap like this.

My god, they know people are watching them and are influenced by what they do, they should always watch what they do.

I do agree that seeing as she's a popular figure, she does have some responsibility for her actions because her fans are mostly young and impressionable.

But to expect her to be a role model all the time is unrealistic. How can it be? Are you expecting her to do so 24/7? How was she supposed to know she was being filmed anyway? She might as well be paranoid all time and be uptight just in case some films her and finds what she's doing offensive.
And it's a bit of a stretch to say she was teaching young girls. Teaching someone something without knowing you are doesn't seem right to me.

At the end of the day I don't care at all. I'm not a fan and TBH, I've seen girls dancing like that before at parties. I've met a lot of girls like her and so maybe I'm desensitised to it.

I also want Disney to stop associating themselves with her.

Right. Because Disney is the epitome of all that is wholesome and good. :ffs:

I personally don't care for Miley Cyrus or any of those other talentless hack "stars" that Disney produces. I wouldn't consider anyone in Hollywood to be a role model either. If parents aren't intelligent enough to teach their own children what they consider to be good morals and values then that's their own damn fault. If you check out videos around the internet, there are plenty of videos of children way younger than Miley doing provocative dances and other shit while their "parents" recorded it. They thought it was cute. So clearly everyone doesn't have the same standards and some people likely aren't bothered by things like this.

So yeah, I personally don't give a rat's ass. It's her own life. It's not her responsibility to be a role model for young girls. It's the parents' job. I wouldn't have done anything like this when I was a teenager, but that's just me.

Not act like a teenager?
ANd really who is influenced by them at all? Using the 'bad role model' line is just an easy way of attacking someone. Shes a kid herself, it wouldnt be particularly nice reading all the negative things people say about you in the paper and magazines everyday.
It wouldnt be odd to say that its this negative publicity that makes these young stars go bonkers later on in life. And if it was me id rather live my life having fun that always be looking over my shoulder for the next photographer.

And if it was me id rather live my life having fun that always be looking over my shoulder for the next photographer.

Exactly :mokken:

Also, what she gets up to is really her business. Nobody elses. If thats what she wants to do then... she should be able to. She can't look over her shoulder for the cameras forever.

Well, true. Disney isn't at all good, most of the time. But they're definitely better than 99.9% of everything else a child could see on the T.V.

People, stop saying she's doing this because she's a teenager. For gods sake, I'm a teenager, I don't do crap like that.

I'm a teenager and I don't do it either. And I wouldn't against a 44-year-old. :hmmm:
But still, it shouldn't have been made so public. It's her private life, the whole world doesn't need to know about it. I've seen much, much worse from teenagers.

She gave up her private life when she chose to become a celebrity. That's just how it is.

She has to realize that people are watching her every move more than ever. Children look up to her and they do/dress/talk exactly like her.

She needs to mature a little. I mean, look at her 9 year old sister. She's got a lingerie line. Speaks volumes about who Miley is.

But that's total rubbish, celebrities SHOULDN'T have no private life just because they're famous. I don't particularly care what my favourite celebrities do behind closed doors because it's... well... it's their life.

Are you being serious? Just because you don't doesn't mean others will do the same as you. Miley could just as easily say "I'm a teenager... why aren't you dancing with older men like I am?".

I know plenty of teenagers who like to go out to parties and dance like that.

Granted, what happened in that video was a little graphic, especially for a role model like Miley Cyrus, but she is a teenager. She probably thought it was fun at the time. She must not have fully considered the severity of the situation and thought that the fact that that guy was gay might excuse what happened. In my opinion, it's not that serious, as it is her life and she can do whatever, but she could have had some discretion at the very least.

Get off your high horse, seriously :ffs:

What makes you so great, where do you get off judging her?
Its people like you who seem to think theyre oh so perfect that are the fools.
Girl 16 does dirty dance.... OMG the worlds over.

She had a new photoshoot lately. The pictures are gobshite

I could make a huge rant about Miley Cyrus. I could also say 'I don't care' but the thing is, she is a role model to so many young girls around the country and it's just wrong.

Where the fuck is her father in all this?!

It's not a high horse. And I know I'm not perfect, it's why I pray to God for forgiveness for anything I could have done.

You all are dismissing what she did because "she's just a teenager" well, that means I can say, "I'm a teenager and I don't do that."

So, again, not all teenagers are horny littler girls that want to be adults already. My god, that's insulting to me.

The only reason kids "dance" like that nowadays is because the celebrities on T.V. act like that. They definitely didn't dance like that in the 60s, 70s, or 80s. But now that the celebs of today are doing it, teenagers do it too.

If all the celebrities just stopped acting like this teenagers wouldn't do it either.

She's immature and needs to grow up before she starts dancing like she is a grown up.

Yeahhh they couldnt possibly do it because....they enjoy it? Its just not possible that they have a mind of their own is it? And that they are smart enough to make their own decisions?

rofl thats just....:lew: (y)

If Miley wants to grow up, that's fine. And isn't she 17 now? I think she's turning 18 in November. If she wants to grow, then she needs to be treated like a "grown up" star and not like a sweet little innocent Disney star. (I think she's out grown her role on Disney)

And I don't consider this to be a terrible thing that she did. Yeah it was creepy that she dance with an older man and she was underage. And if it had been a girl at my high school when I was that age, we would have talked about how weird and creepy she was.

But, compared to previous Disney Stars such as Lindsay Lohan, Hilary Duff, and Britney Spears (she was on the Mickey Mouse Club) at that age, she actually quite a saint =P Though being a celebrity and how much parents love her, she's going to have to expect some outrage from them :/

Maybe that's just what she likes to do :hmmm:
That's like saying underage people have sex just because adults do it. But maybe they enjoy it too?
Just because you don't do it doesn't mean it's wrong.

RiggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhT.

Because she's a teenager, she gets to lap dance on older men. Completely agree. And you know what, her 9 year old sister, she's growing so she gets to have lingerie line and she gets to dress like a 20 year old.

Young girls are out dressing inappropriately and lap dancing, ALL is right in the world.

I checked and RYdia is right shes 18 this year.
So first of all shes not a little kid (y)
And 2nd yes, forget war..poverty..and serious matters, lets all cry about a 17 yr old doing what 'many' people her age are doing. That makes sense (y)
