Yeah, I get what you mean. It's like how Cloud's hair was ridiculously unbelievably spikey in VII, but it got smaller in KHI, and smaller-er in AC. It's a gradual realistic revamp of Cloud's hair style that I've always liked. It makes sense they'd do something else to make it look more realistic than it already is. I can imagine Nomura would probably make it more trimmed and slightly less, large. (not like I want that, though. I think his hair is dead sexy as is. ).

You know... You're right. We never really see inside of Cloud's head(ofc not counting VII ) anymore. This is one of the reasons why I love the older books so much. Dismaatled gives the reader a glimpse of how each character is feeling and thinking and I really do enjoy getting that sort of thing for Cloud.

In all seriousness, they can't have one from Cloud's POV--Nomura has said he wants Cloud to be left up to the players to decide who he is, and if they made a book like that it would answer a lot about him... in a lot of ways. So as much as you and I would like a Case of Cloud, it will never happen

What is Cloud's best attribute?
I think Cloud's best attribute would be his devotion and how he'll never forget those dear to him, even when they're dead. People in AC kept telling Cloud to move on and to forget his "past" and that it was the only way to deal with his dilemma at hand but he never did. He found a way where he could hold on to the loved ones he lost and deal with the present. I think it shows true devotion for Cloud to never forget the people he lost even while others think its best for him to do so.

So yeah, I guess what I'm saying is I love Cloud's trait of never forgetting people he lost. Usually, in the VII world, we hardly ever see other characters remembering the people they lost(Barret, Yuffie, Red XIII, Tifa) so I really like that we see this trait in Cloud.

No, Final Fantasy VII doesn't count and Advent Children is more of A Denzel/Marlene/Tifa thing in my opinion they had way more in depth story in that movie than Cloud did, but on the bright side we did see A LOT from Cloud but there was too much eveyrone else for it to count for anything >.> I think he should stop supervising the Ultimania's then right and answering whats canon and etc. right? I better get a book for Cloud in some shape or form or there'll be hell to pay

Hubba wha? I thought Cloud had a lot of parts in it. But I guess I know where you're comin' from. There was a lot of everyone from AVALANCHE involved. But honestly, I think AC comes the closest we'll ever get to getting into Cloud's head. It would be so wonderful to have a book from Cloud's POV tho

Yeah, exactly. Cloud didn't just up and forget them like the others did about the ones they lost, but rather he remembered and always kept them with him, but not only that--he managed to deal with his problems of guilt/regret or whatever at the same time. That's just so sweet to me.

Wow that's so weird, I have actually always thought Bolt or Thunder matched Cloud, I never really like associating him with Fire for some reason, in my opinion Dissidia messes with all the characters natural fighting styles; Terra doesn't even use a sword like she's supposed to (Q_Q)

" especially since what he was feeling depressed over revolved around two people--I thought--had no way to contact him ever again.

I honestly thought he was about to let himself die(something other characters assumed as well)... and while I knew that would probably be kinder for him--since he was dying of an incurable disease after all--but deep in my fangirl heart I hated thinking that Cloud was about to die. Q^Q

I tend to think of 'fire element' users being hot tempered, loud and passionate.

I would say Cloud's a wind element user. Like a cloud in the sky he comes and goes like the wind--no pun intended. Not one to be tied down or stay in one place for too long.

I think the bromance was emphasized on a lot more than the original game had intended for it. You know, like they made their friendship more than what it originally was.

Sorry, Starfish, The Meddler; I just never liked Tidus. *shudders* I like protagonists I can take seriously (even if they aren't serious, like Dante or Harry Dresden) and no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't take the guy seriously. I guess Cloud set a high standard for protagonist blonds.

Okay, but seriously, I was just really curious as to why he was all depressed and what he was going to do about it. But in the end, I think it's all fairly justified. He's the kind of guy that takes things very personally, and I can get that he'd be down on himself afterward. So it makes sense as part of his character development.

I just wish he'd moved onto the asskicking a bit sooner.

I think they would have mentioned more about Zack, but 7 was written specifically to be ambiguous (the bastards). So they just kind of left Zack and Cloud's relationship undefined. Also, disc space may have been an issue.

That's really the only reasons I can think of why they didn't mention it. Maybe, with all his memories returned and whatnot, (and since Zack pretty much died just 6 weeks before Cloud got his head on straight) the loss is still too fresh and he just doesn't talk about it? That would make sense.

I wonder why Cloud never showed sadness or guilt or whatever for Zack before AC? It did seem like his guilt over it came outta nowhere. I mean, come to think of it, after Tifa helped Cloud regain his true memories--Cloud never spoke of Zack at all after that.

I think the bromance was emphasized on a lot more than the original game had intended for it. You know, like they made their friendship more than what it originally was.

Oh, well. Either way, I'm happy that Cloud can say he had at least one friend from his teen days.

Well, the simple answer is; HORRIBLE RETCON, but a story intricate answer would include a detailed -- Cloud is depressed because he couldn't keep his promise and live out Zacks life/legacy; not really depressed he couldn't protect him/that he's dead -- its much different than the Aerith situation.

Like I said, Cloud thought about Aerith all the time, where was the thoughts of Zack >>

I guess Cloud having a friend IS nice, but I just don't think his depression was linked to Zack all as much as some make it out to be.

Dragon Mage : The thing is to not compare other blonde heroes to Cloud. Nobody, whether blonde or not, can ever amount to Cloud. So it's better to not compare any other hero to the awesome that is Cloud.

Arg! Lightning is not the female version of Cloud! Lightning looks like she could be his sister, maybe. But personality wise they are like salt and pepper.

Lightning, for one, actually made it to be a strong famous soldier, Cloud did not. Lightning is a lot more emotional, too. She slaps and gets all "hero" wayy too much.

I guess you'd have to play XIII to see how unlike they are.

Although, I guess their stoic-quality is something they have in common.

I think they would have mentioned more about Zack, but 7 was written specifically to be ambiguous (the bastards). So they just kind of left Zack and Cloud's relationship undefined. Also, disc space may have been an issue.

That's really the only reasons I can think of why they didn't mention it. Maybe, with all his memories returned and whatnot, (and since Zack pretty much died just 6 weeks before Cloud got his head on straight) the loss is still too fresh and he just doesn't talk about it? That would make sense.

ah, well, whatever the reason it gives me the impression that Cloud and Zack's friendship was juiced up in newer compilation.

Yeah, if I can be honest, that one lil flashback in VII about Zack and Cloud driving to Midgar just wasn't enough. I would have loved to see more scenes about their bromance in game. But now if they do it, it just comes off forced.

I agree. I think Cloud was just sorry that Zack would have died in vain since he was willing to let himself die from Geostigma. I think THAT'S what Cloud was feeling guilty over.

Cloud wanted to die and he knew Zack died saving him, therefor Cloud knew Zack would have died in vain.

Yeah, that's what I believe and to me, it makes most sense.

Cloud wouldn't make a kid defend themselves, Lightning took her problems out on a little kid, Hope, no hate on Lightning but Clouds a lot more mature than that; he might not get along with kids but he treats them well, Marlene, Denzel even 16 year old Yuffie, who he pretends to be scared of xD Bottom line, Cloud is adult enough to recognize a kid is a kid. Lightning, not so much >.>
