Multiple Platforms Resident Evil 5

4 was a lot more action-orientated and you had a lot more items, weapons and ammo than you did in the past. I never really was scared at any moments, usually what I felt was pressure when a lot enemies were surrounding me at one time.

Resident Evil 5-Game

Well Resident Evil 5 is officially out now. Has anyone beside me picked this one up? I have it on PS3. First RE I played was the ones they had out for PS1(I forget the names of them) and I haven't really played any since Code Veronica(so I missed out on RE4) but this game is just really awesome I like the movement and how much smarter and faster the zombies actually are I mean they're opening doors, one even set up a ladder to get to me lol. But I am really impressed with this title I think they did an amazing job on the AI and the gameplay. Not being able to move while aiming or looking at your inventory is vexxing but I like the hotkeys you can do to the D-pad does help out with switching weapons effectively.

I am currently on level 1-3 just had my first boss run in and the annoying part in 1-1 with the what seemed like hours zombie slaughter fest. But this title has captivated me since I haven't played since Code Veronica on PS2. The series has come a long way and I am happy with the job they have done to this game and series. What is everyone else's thoughts on this game?

Yep, we own it over here. We have proceeded to act 3, and we both love it. I don't think this is a typical resident evil though. Nothing in it is suspenseful like the older Resident Evils. Back when Resident evil 2 came out (still the best in my opinion), I was so used to having to creep around corners out of fear I would be lying in a pool of my own blood in the next 2 seconds.

This one took all the surprise elements out and got right down to the graphic enhanced game play. The story line thus far is pretty decent to be honest. I played a bit of RE4 and it has very similar game play but this one is definitely a one up from it.

There are sequences in the game where reaction time is huge key in order to survive, otherwise brute fire power is. Also you have to use quite a bit of strategies on the newer bosses, which makes this game challenging when playing on normal difficulty or above (not sure of the actual name of normal off the top of my head).

On a game review scale I would give this game a high 8.8 - because it is so far a very well written story line, (some loop holes) but also the graphics are godlike.

Weapon of Choice: The Semi auto sniper rifle + shotgun + magnum.

Girlfriend likes to use: MP5 and Melee gear and the upgraded pistol

It's best to have people use different weapons as to conserve ammo. Just a tip for you newbies.

Overall Rating - 8.8

I also remember the dogs bein a bit easier to handle in the earlier ones. The dogs in this one are just plain vicious lol.

I recently bought this game as i am a Resi Fan and have been for many years, I have been enjoying this for a couple of hours and have found myself at what appears to be the Final boss
Wesker fight after he has injected himself with uroboros
And realized that i just cant kill the A-hole.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Online multiplayer factor of the game though as when Sheva is being controlled by another person she is much more useful than when she is AI controlled.

Good game, and i love it. My overall rating is 8.9

I think this is probably the best resi title since nemesis, although the horror and suspense are no longer a major factor, I really do enjoy the action, storyline and strategy RE5 has brought to the table, I just hope they put more unlockable characters and costumes to the mercenaries mode
like jill's S.T.A.R.S uniform and the likes of claire and barry burton
but time will tell with that afterall, its still young so its def a possibility as downloadable content :)

overall I give it an 8.9.

I was actually thinking of making a game review for this bad boy come soon, if anyone has any input let me know, I usually try to make it pretty interesting. So far we have beaten this game... 5 times.. ugh.

Why? because there are so many unlockables as well as infinite ammo I want for my weapons.

Character - Chris

Outfit - S.T.A.R.S.

New Weapons of Choice:

Dragunov Sniper Rifle - Infinite ammo
Rocket Launcher - infinite ammo
L hawk - Infinite ammo
3 barrelled shotgun (can't think of the name) - infinite ammo

Yea we have all the BSAA emblems, but we just beat veteran so now we are ready do to Professional.

This outta be fun.

good luck with that, I keep putting off doing pro mode, I hear one particular fight is supposed to be hard as hell on pro so best of luck :)

I'm a masochist when it comes to First Person shooters, I love the challenge bro. You just have to be determined, but it doesn't help I got someone yelling at me every time we die lol!

But no seriously, infinite ammo rocket launchers make everything... and I do mean everything easy mode. I just use my Rocket Launcher when I get pissed.. otherwise I'm using the Dragunov ..poppin heads is the name of the game.

I hate using easy mode on anything, I refuse to use the rocket launcher at all, I stick to the hydra shotty or upgraded laser sight magnum if im getting annoyed xD

I've got it (for the X360, for what it's worth =P), and I'm enjoying it just like I enjoyed RE4, in spite of the fact that these past two games have deviated rather broadly from the traditional RE formula. I'm a big fan of the old games (I'm a big RE2 fan), but these newer games are still enjoyable to me, for different reasons. I won't go into all that, but suffice to say I enjoyed the game overall.

I do see what you're saying about some plot holes though, most of them revolving around
Wesker
(or at least from what I could gather from my friend). The story was enjoyable, though, and did a good job of tying a lot of points together.

While I was please to see the return of
Lickers
, they pissed me off a LOT in this game. You were always fighting hordes of the bastards, and they're a lot more resilient than they were in the past. I remember one part where the hallway was just full of them, and I had to use piles of ammo to survive. :gasp:

ok then what was your most hated enemy, most tense moment, funniest moment and bit that made you think "oh shit what do i do now?" :p

Most hated enemy: Reapers

Most tense moment: Fighting Multiple Chainsaw Manjinis

Funniest moment: Running out of ammo on mercs and resorting to pelting the manjini's with eggs ^^

"Oh shit what do I do now" moment: First time I fired a rocket at a certain boss and he grabbed it out of mid-air much to my disbelief!

Finally bought it yesterday, and it's everything I'd hoped it would be. I'm enjoying it just as much as I did with RE4. The only problem I really have with it is that they've got rid of the merchant, I really liked him. =(
Also, if Sheva is supposed to be a native to Africa, why does she have an English accent? :wacky:

British Colonies back in the day, you can still be native to it and have a very English accent. Just all depends what part you are from is all.

glad your enjoying it, its one hell of a game thats for certain, expect to have a few moments of blind rage on proffesional mode though ^^

You do raise an excellent point as Sheva couldnt speak a word of english until she went to the states, so if anything she would have more of a afro-americano accent than english :P

I don't have the actual game yet, but I just got done playing the demo five minutes ago. (Xbox 360) Well, that is, the random person I was playing with online (I was Sheva) terminated the game. I was so pissed, although I can't really blame him/her. I admit I did suck lol. I got lost and was left behind (since I couldn't figure out how to run at first), and I couldn't aim right since the controller sucks. Then those las plagas were three-feet away from me and I couldn't even get a clear shot and was shooting beside their head instead...next thing I know, game's terminated. =[ Only lasted for less than five minutes. Yeah I know I'm terrible at shooting games, but I wanted to try the co-op. Probably not the brightest idea for a first-time play. For awhile there I was going, "How the fuck do I shoot?!" with three baddies comin' at me. =/

Anyway, I know it's just a matter of getting used to the controllers, but one thing I noticed is that it doesn't really let you dodge...does it? The aiming is quite slow too - it's like, jeez, hello? Can't you aim faster than that? I don't know, I kinda like RE4 better (watched my husband play it from start to finish), although I would like to play this game too just to see if it gets better playing the actual game.

Anyone wanna be my partner? :wacky:

Edit: Nevermind we figured out how to make the aiming faster than the default and much more like RE4.

Dont worry mits, the controls can take a little "getting used to" but you will be dodging about and popping manjini heads off in no time, instead of "dodge" you have quick turn (which will actually stop manjini's grabbing you) and against certain foes you can dodge and counter using the coresponding key, if my bro is off today, ill join you for a bit, my Xbox headset is bust atm though so I wont be talking unfortunatley, but I dont mind showing you the ropes ^^

Currently playing it the now, the main campaign was disappointing as hell for me. Just seemed weak when compared to RE4. It wasn't bad just not great with some things that really peeved me off.

The biggest complaint I had was the inventory screen, RE4 had an awesome way with the suitcases and while I understand they would have had to change it to suit the 2 character set-up I thought it was stupid as hell to have the body armour be classed as an item so you end up wasting a slot for them. Also not beig able to trade weapons was kinda silly too.

The first part of the fianl boss was awesome though it has to be said.

The thing that saved this for me was the co-op modes, I wouldn't be able to play the main game by myself, having a second dude there just made it mre fun.

Also the main plus was the Mercanaries mode, most fun part of this game by far although it can be annoying as hell with dying from a random Licker swarm or those bloody Bagheads on the ship level.

Still need to get A Ranks on the last two levels. :'(

I missed him too.

Hmm, I don't actually think it's possible for us to play since I've only got the demo and all. It won't let me pick any friends I want to play with - it does it randomly and picks random people from who knows where. xD But I appreciate the offer. I think I'll just...watch my husband and bro-in-law play it instead since I don't think it's the game for me. xD I'm more into the solving puzzles and helping the player figure out where to go next - you know, guide 'em through it. But to actually play it... =/

And the merchant does not make an appearance?! =O So where do we buy weapons?

I missed him too.

Just got my 3rd solo SS rank on mines this time, 99,035 closing in on that 100k mark

They could do with powering the other mercs weapons up a tad tbh as
STARS Wesker
is a one man owning machine, Hydra shotty + L.Hawk magnum = combo wracking whore and boss killer extrodinare

As much as I love to play as
BSAA and Battlesuit Jill
I just cannot deny the powerful performance the merc mentioned above makes.....hes just that damn SICK!

sorry to hear that Mits, but im sure you should enjoy watching em play through, for a File monkey like myself, the story is pretty well realised, you just gotta be prepared to read ^^

and if you ever fancy playing just hop on with the hubby for a bit of duo merc and co-op action, fast paced fun for all ^^

Also you get a BSAA equipment shop that appears at the end of chapters or one the main screen, I woulda loved the merchant to make a return, but I dont think he woulda fit into RE5 unfortunatley, just doesnt seem his kind of place. Stranger!
