Resident Evil Outbreak

"What can you do?"

"Well." Josh thought. "I'm good with a baseball bat. And I'm pretty good with tactical commands."

He stood looking out a window at the gray skies. Maybe all those years of videogames and studying might come in hand this time. "Seeing as melee isn't the best choice against an undead army I'd be much more healpful at giving advice when we're in a jam. If we stay here much longer, we're bound to be picked off one by one." Josh started. "If I can get a map and find an opening, I can get most of us out of here. We're bound to have losses. But first I need to get to an Umbrella office."

"What's going on here?"

Michael directed the question to the police officers who did not allow the injured man to pass, one of them answered, Michael recognized him as Agent Flynn.

Flynn:"Sorry sir, but we have streict orders not to let people who were bitten inside."

Michael quickly answered.

"That's insane, this man needs medical attention..."

Relunctant the officers told the man to wait outside as they went to call a para-medic.

Business man:
"Those jackasses...why can't i get in, i'm an injured civilian, i work for the city hall you know i could make them lose their jobs...ouch darn it my leg hurts and i'm sweating like it's summer time."

Michael looked at the man, he did seem slightly altered, but there was no time to waste he had to go and warn the Police Chief about what was going on, he saw some of his S.T.A.R.S teammates on the way up to the Chief's officer.

As he arrived he knocked on the door, the Chief's secretary opened the door, and behind her stood the chief looking at one of his bizarre colections.

Chief Irons:"Ahhh officer Burton, so how are you doing? Is the situation in the streets resolved already?"

He looked calm but had an insane look, how could he ask such a question could he be daydreaming?

"Sir...as i'm sure someone reported to you already we lost unit 3 in the hospital, my unit also lost 7 men while we extracted the civilians...all the area near J's bar as been overrun by those things, and there's a large hord of those things coming this way sir, more then 1,000 by my calculations, at their current speed they should arrive in about 15 to 20 minutes from now. There's a barricade set up already but we need more firepower in order to stop them. So we should get as many powerful gear from the Armory as possible, also i would like to request to join the other men in the line of fire, there are probably other people coming here as we speak seaking shelter and we need to protect them."

Chief Irons smiled...

Chief Irons:
"Ohh i ordered that most of the ammunition would be scattered along the Police Station, i would not want that those things and the criminals that we are holding inside our cells to overtake the Armory at this time and make us hostages, don't you agree? Either way it's pointless to fight, those zombies are very resistant and it's too late to run away now...the military as already blocked the city limits, we're trapped like rats, how ironic."

Michael felt the need to punch that bastard for what he was saiying, he was a complete lunatic.

"What are you talking about? Why the hell would you take out most of the ammo from the armory? Are we supposed to find it like we're hunting for easter eggs!? We need to protect the people and to hold our ground!"

Irons kept smiling like an idiot....

Chief Irons:"Now...now, don't talk to me like that boy, i'll file a report against you, hey you over there write a report now, officer Michael Burton is to be held as an insubordinate to me! Go on do it you silly girl. Now Michael why don't you join the frontline of the barricade, it seems fitting that you do it since you're so willing to fight."

The secretary looked at Michael, who told her that it was ok, and she left. Michael looked at the chief with an angry look, but also left the office there was no time to beat that bastard up, instead he left and went on looking for his teammate Xander, who was apparently in charge of organizing the defense of the RPD.

"Getting you to an umbrella office will be pretty hard but i can bring up a map of the city on this terminal if that will do" He pressed a few keys and it brought up a tech map of the entire city centered on the station for obvious reasons. "There you go. When you have an idea alert me through this" he passed the youth a walkie talkie and went to walk away before adding "Oh and dont call me officer or sir its Xander ok?"

He walked towards the front barricade as he spotted hisfellow teammate exiting the chief's office and went over to him. "Hey mikey" He said laughing despite the situation "Chief chewing you out again?" He pulled out his barettas and made sure they were loaded. "Well you came from out side so hows it looking 2 hundred? 3?"

"armory is there join officers kumi, tavish and mac on the front barricade, as for our young friend here..."DJ responded, "Aight, man. I'll do that for you." Before heading towards the armory.

At the armory, DJ was amazed at how many guns they keep in here. He combed the armory to see what they have, before picking up some 9mm Ammo for his Baretta 92FS, a HK UMP and some flashbang grenades.

After picking up some weapons, DJ proceeded to head to the front barricade to meet with Kumi, Tavish and Mac.

He gave Xander an hand shake the two had been teammates for a few years and he knew Xander had is back in every mission, he looked calm and even happy Michael guessed he was trying to keep a positive attitute like the bartender he had met before, but he wouldn't be so cheerful after Michael told him what happened...

"Well you came from out side so hows it looking 2 hundred? 3?"

No it was far worse than that.

"Over 1,000 of those things are heading here, and that's just the ones coming from Ennerdale Street. And that bastard Irons he scattered a lot of the ammo around the police station without even warning us. We lost unit 3 and last i heard some officers said that unit 12 and unit 19 were wiped out too near the Racoon City Hall, i wonder if the Mayor is alright...Anyway if we want to hold our ground here we have to put a lot of guys outside protecting the barrier and not allowing one of those undead to pass. How many officers do we have avaiable at this time?"

Michael awaited for the reaction of his teammate.

(OOC: I need another map of Racoon city. Preferably bigger please, thanx!)

Josh typed furiously on the keyboard, mapping routes out of the city. He began to mumble to himself as he went into his thinking process. "There are five possible ways to leave. Leaving two if we stop by Umbrella...The assumption of the government putting up barriers is high..."

He stopped. This map alone wouldn't be enough. Of course there would be barriers around the city. Josh knew quite well that they wouldn't risk putting the rest of humanity in danger just for one city... "Dammit!" shouted Josh.

These thoughs opened up a whole new door. If his hypothesis was correct then that means that the government would destroy the city very soon. "Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!" Josh shouted again.

These were realizations that would make his task impossible and with them being sitting ducks with each and every second, they wouldn't last long. He knew that his parents had worked in an Umbrella facility somewhere in the city. With the medical branch. "I need answers." said Josh. "I need someone who can give them..."

He was depressed but hadn't lost all hope. Jus then the thought of his parents began floating in his mind. A phrase he had heard his father speak once before about the facilities of Umbrella. Maybe there was a way out after all. But assumptions weren't enough to go on. "Where is that commander guy?" he asked a nearby officer. "Xander?"

Josh needed answers to make fiction fact. He may have been just a teen amongst a building of adults but he was ranked fifth highest in the country for smart youth minds. He was going to find a way out...

((OOC: there isnt a bigger map its a full map it just centers around the station you can navigate around that oh and i gave you a radio for a reason oliver))

His heart seemed to have stopped beating. His breathing seemed like it was too much efforet to fill his lungs. His head swam in the terror that was surging inside him. His smile faltered at first and then dissapeared from his face entirely. "One thousand" He repeated "One thousand of those flesh eating mother fuckers" he calmed himself down just enough to process the next bit of information. "In that case we havent got time to waste. we have thirty non-S.T.A.R.S officers in this building and as far as i know just the four of us S.T.A.R.S. we also have two civilians trained in using weaponry and one youth, who seems to be a computer and tactics whizz, mike"

he turned around for a few moments before calling a few officers over, 4 in total. "Okay mike Lets take teams of three search for some artillery to bring to the front desk ill take the left corridor with sanchez and pachenko and you can take mullins and graye down the right corridor on radios the whole time so we dont lose anyone in our little gun-run" the officers he mentioned joined him as he headed quickly away from Mike down the left corrdor flashlight add-ons on his barrettas as he trained them all around him on the way around searching for where the prick-chief had put them

OOC: Ok i'm making officer Sanchez a female and Pachenko male. Also Oliver, this is the biggest map i could find

It seemed like a wise choice, the fact that there were only 36 people capable of wielding arms was a big cause of concern, with the other officers that had arrived with Michael the count went up to 41. He quickly called another officer named Marvin.

"Ok Marvin i need you to ask all of the civilians down in the B1 floor if they are capable of wielding weapons, every man or woman who can do it please give them a weapon and tell them, that it's essential that we get all the assistance possible. And please try not to alarm the children, i don't want to cause anymore panic then there already is."

Marvin:"You can count on me, i'm on it."

Tim
e was passing away and they had to move fast, holding up his 9mm Sub-Machine Gun, he locked his flashing in his gun and moved on along with the two officers, each of them had a backpack so they could place all the ammo and weapons they found inside the bag.

OOC: Thanx the map really helps....And I didn't guess to bad on the highschool's location. yayses!

Josh finally found the walkie talkie given to him by Xander and turned it on speaking loudly and clearly. "Xander can you tell be how heavily the city is quarantined?" he asked studying the map hardly. "I we can probrably get out by the rivers flowing out of the city. Hopefully the government hasn't dammed it up. I also spotted a train station north of here. I doubt the government would send others inside to blockade the tunnels, but traveling in dark tunnels is a pretty big risk..."

Josh studied the map even harder. "There seems to be a weapons shop just northwest of the police station. We can stock up there if you need to. There's also a hospital but it's a pretty far commute. I can promise a way out from the hospital where my parents work, but I wouldn't risk it with all these people."

He stretched for a moment in his seat as a low humming noise comming from a nearby window began to grow louder. "I can garuntee that either we die by the undead or by the government. Our time is limited." Josh stated as he began to give his head a rest from thinking."Well sir-uh I mean Xander, what's your plan?"

Xander had just entered a room and had to silence the officers with him as there was a zombie stood in the corner facing the wall, obviously with no knowledge that it was doing so. He drew his beretta slowly and took aim then his radio went off the zombie turned to the source of the noise and hissed before leaping at xander. Xander punched it back and shot it in the head twice to make sure. As he listened to what josh was telling him he said "Well the best option will be to hold out past this swarm then head out to the weapon store. Is there a clear route from the store to the river, im sure humans would be able to figure out a way through there, and its not likely to be as dangerous as going through the subways, who knows how many of those things could be down there?" he paused for a moment before adding "And kid for the love of god dont call me sir again"

"And kid for the love of god dont call me sir again"

"Sorry S-Xander!" said Josh as he examined the map again.

A slight distraction came from the nearby window. Josh could see a large crowed slowly approaching the station from blocks away. The massive number of the undead mad his jaw drop. Time was running out."There is a route to the river but it's pretty far. the closest route to the river is clear and two blocks east. But it is dammed at the hospital up north. Our best bet would be to go past the ammunition shop and head around the hospital to the other side of the dam to make our escape. We would need some sort of a boat like contraptions to sneak down the river past possible barriers." Josh said as he stood.

He began to print out the map and headed to the printer on the other side of the room. "We may have a slight problem but it's the only choice we have."

OOC: The hospital was overrun by zombies a while ago.

Michael walked through the hall, it was clear apart from an officer armed with a shotgun who was guarding the area, they kept moving and entered one of the office's of the police, there he found another two officers who Michael recognized as Elliot and David, they were just about to join the other officers near the barricade, Michael then entered a smaller office and found some handgun ammo beneath a table, he also found a safe which required a code number to unlock it, since every high level police officer knew the code Michael pressed the buttons "2236", inside he found a map of the police station which he kept, about 14 shotgun shells which he gave to the officers that were with him and and also 6 magnum bullets which he kept for himself, as he was the only one of the three who had a magnum.

After collecting the ammo, they went to investigate the lockerooms, they were all empty except for one, inside it was a benelli M3 shotgun a very powerful weapon and it was thankfully loaded, officer Pachenko took it.

After double checking the office, all of them left quickly as time was getting short, they had two choices now, either go towards the basement or investigate the 2nd floor for ammo, thinking that there were already a lot of people in the basement they decided to go up the ladder which led to the heliport in the 2nd floor, on their way they found a few green herbs which could be used for treatment, hidden between the herbs were two handgun clips which officer Sanchez grabbed and placed in her backpack.

Afterwards they opened the door leading to the heliport and found another police officer standing near a window with a sniper rifle, he was a member of the Select Police Force (S.P.F) a group of elite police officers which could be considered to be on the same level of S.T.A.R.S.

SPF officer:" Sir i was told to stay here and shoot those bastards on sight, i can get a pretty clear view from the streets from here. I already took out four of them. Are you going to the heliport? Officer Rita is in charge of controling the extraction of the people via chopper, but...so far the chopper as not arrived."

Michael told the officer to keep up the good work, and if things got out of hand to join the others in the basement, he then went up to meet with officer Rita.

OOC: I hve no idea whats going on, but that a huge horde is coming, so im rearming a bit at the armoury.

Hild and Kumi was away from the briefing and planning. Hild hated to be present during these meetings. All they need to do is give her a target and she will blow it away. Kumi was with her on her orders to completely be armed a ready to roll. With their gear, running isnt on top in their mind, but having enough firepower to ensure the safety of the civilians was. Kumi retained the SIG assault rifle and loaded complete ammo and heavy weaponry gear of grenades and a Russian RG-6 launcher. Hild took as much health and medical gear along with spare grenades for Kumi

Okay. We're loaded Lets get going. Toss as much of the stuff into the dufffel bags and we'll drag it out to the main foyer for the rest to gear up.

Yes ma'am.

When the bags were full, both Kumi and Hild dragged them through the hallway, the slow lumbering undeads looming in closer and closer.

Sir, ammo and a few light (Uzis and small pistols) weapons for those that need armaments. We are ready to go, sir.

Bad habits were hard to break as Kumi saluted Xander.

OOC: sorry again for my inactivity RL problems

IC: Stephen lay in the make shift examination room, he had been completely checked over for bites and scratches, and sat getting a physical "Listen, can we not do this now, there happens to be a city full of the walking dead, you know i haven't been bitten, so can i get the hell outta here" the doctor looked at him "why are you carrying a gun?" Stephen looked at him with a smirk "well for starters, the hordes of undead walking around outside the station who look at me like im their next meal. . . come to think of it i could be" Stephen shook his head and then took his gaze back to the doctor "but i am an Ex-Umberella agent, so a gun and combat knife, if you hadn't noticed, are standard issue that i kinda forgot to return" Stephen then hopped off the gurney and pulled on his jeans "I'm going" he announced before walking out of the room and back to the main hall

"so anyone going to tell me what the fuck is going on, or am i left to figure that out on my own?"

(OOC:Since Kupo Kutt is gone, does that mean Xander is eaten by zombies? GaH! too much to think about. Here's post.)

Josh geared up with all the equipment he would need. His bag full of water and snaks and his medical kit. He hadn't heard from Xander in a while. "It's time to make the escape..."

Josh left the room in search of other police agents and people who would try to escape the city with him. "Hello?" He called. "Is anyone leaving?"

DJ came out of the armory with guns and flashbangs in his pocket and his UMP Sub-Machine Gun on his back. He said to Josh, "Depends on what the cops want to do." Turning his attention to Kumi. "Looks like I'm with you, so what do you want me to do? Cause I ain't planning on sitting around waiting to die."

Stephen looked around and sighed "guy's, I'm going to go and try to find some survivors, I'm heading to the mall, there are some shops their that we could loot for equipment "Stephen announced "anyone who wishes to come with me, go ahead, if not, I may see you again" Stephen continued before leaving the police station.

he headed down the street, with his beretta in hand the Street was quiet, it was kind of unnerving but Stephen was focussed, he knew what umberella were like, and he was hoping to find a scientist who was still alive in order to ask him some questions.

Michael heard via is radio that some civilians were going to try and survive for themselfes, this was just poor lack of judgment in his opinion, they had a better chance at surviving behind police lines, plus there was the extraction chopper responsible for taking small groups of civilians to the outskirts of the city were they would be safe, although truth be told the chopper had not returned in a while...

Michael along with his two fellow officers met up with officer Rita near the heliport, there was a group of 6 civilians waiting in line for the chopper to come, all of them were children, by criteria they were the first ones to be extracted. Officer Rita looked troubled when Michale approached to talk to her.

Officer Rita:"Michael...the chopper, it's been more than an hour since it went away, it should have returned by now. Also a few minutes ago a lot of choppers crossed the sky and dropped a bunch of soldiers in different parts of the city, our communication officer said they were here to help protect the civilians and that they were all well armed."

Michael gave a little smile finally the military had decided to show up and help them out, without them they might have not been able to contain the situation.

"Well finally the USA military as come, with their help we can still win this thing."

Officer Sanchez and Pachenko also looked relieved as well as the six children who were hearing the conversation, but Rita still looked troubled...

Officer Rita:"Well, according to the report i received they weren't USA military members, the choppers as well as their clothes had an Umbrella logo on them, as far as i've heard the USA military is actually setting up barricades in the main exit routes of the city, they say it's a contention plan, there are a lot of citizens already trying to get out but the military won't allow them."

Silence struck them all, if the military had decided to block the main city exits it ment that the situation was far worse then they could have hoped for. Could their end be near?

Suddently a voice was heard via a megaphone

"They're gettin close all avaiable officers move in to the front line, those monsters will get here in about 10 minutes. Hurry!!!"

There was no time to think Michael ordered officer Rita to take the children into the basement near the other survivors, he told officer Sanchez and Pachenko to follow him, as they began to climb down in direction of the main barricade a truck carrying the remaining Selective Police Force members the elite officers of the Police Department, they were all well armed with 9mm sub-machine guns (MP5), one of them carried a Benelli M3 Super 90 (shotgun) and another SPF carried a M79 grenade launcher, there were eleven SPF members in total, along with them there were about thirty standard police officers all helding different kinds of firearms from 9mm beretta hanguns, to shotguns and he even spotted two of them holding up magnums. Michael looked behind him and saw the selective police force member he had met earlier standing near a window in the 2nd floor with his sniper rifle ready to open fire, and on the third floor of the RPD he spotted two more SPFs also pointing up their sniper rifles to shoot at anythign coming they're away.

A litte bit behind the first line of defense there were seven male civilians and one female civilian holding up standard beretta handguns, they were probably the only few regular civilians who could hold use firearms, near them stood officer Marvin with a serious look on his face, he was ordered to give instrunctions to the civilians on when and how to shoot. Marvin himself was carried a Colt M1911A1, a powerful handung which lacked the power of a magnum it was still more powerful then all other handguns.

Police cars were serving as the main barrier for the street, all of the officers scattered between the cars so they would not get hit between the line of fire.

The distant moans were getting louder and louder, it was almost time...

Stephen strode down a dead street, when he heard a helicopter nearby, he took cover under a canopy, watching the chopper drop off a group of heavily armed Umberella members "Great, they're here to destroy everything" Stephen mumbled to himself "they won't spare survivors if i know umberella" he continued before heading into the building.

the second to fifth floors held small appartments, he took a small amount of time to search the appartments, running into minor ressistance, which was surprising, maybe the situation wasn't as bad as he thought it might be, but then again the undead may have moved on in search of fresh flesh.

OOC: Hey stephen, youn should direct the story since its your rp. To make more interaction, im going to lead us towards Jimmy's location and help. You are at the RPD station right, cuz our characters were inside?

"Looks like I'm with you, so what do you want me to do? Cause I ain't planning on sitting around waiting to die."

Kumi turned and thought for a second. Her hesitant self was emerging once again as she was torn between the safety of the police HQ and risking it and getting out, maybe by land route. Should they screw up and get attacked it would be her fault.

Um...uh...

Hild sensed her juniors characteristic hesitation and stepped in before anyone else noticed it. An officer getting confused would help no-one.

Alright. Officer Kumi and i will be heading outside to assist in the defense of the station. Since this isnt an extraction path, it will only be myself, Kumi and uh...Mr....whassisname should he shoose to help. The rest stay here under Officer Cross' protection.

The cries of the zombies outside grew louder and it was time to act. Racking the bolts on their weapon, Hild and Kumi made their way outside to the barricade. Hild tapped one of the officer (some random guy since you are on the roof, Jimmy. Still, you control him.) near the barricade to grap his attention.

Hey, we're here to help. What position needs to be covered.
