[Role-Play] Epitaph

Eile Mura: More unwanted attention.

"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYY. You three"

Eile looked over to where the voice was calling out and she saw two men and another woman calling to them.

Well, lucky us. Another group. Lets go join them. After all, the more the merrier. Lets regroup with Anzu Eile.

Matabei apparently heard the other group. Most likely Anzu heard as well seeing that she was already there. Eile followed Matabei up to the group as she heard Matabei introducing them to the other group.

Heya guys. Thanks for the invite. It'd be a pleasure to party up. Name, as you can see, is Gozen Matabei, but Matabei will do. This is Anzu and the one coming up is Eile. FYI, I'm a Breaker. Just so you know. Throw us an invite when you're ready and lets set off. I think Anzu is about to explode with excitement.

True to Matabei's words, Eile looked over to see Anzu ready to jump with joy. A few seconds later, a message popped up asking her to join. Eile hesitated a bit before accepting the invite, though she stepped behind Matabei right afterwards.

"A...are you doing the quest as well?" Eile asked quietly looking at the 3 new strangers.
 
OOC: Sorry for the delay, been a busy morning.

Ami started taking a slow walk back to the Quest Shop where she met up with Ryoku before, she started thinking about her first ever hunt in the game. “Well, I guess it time to find out if I can use these daggers after all.” Ami slowly pulled out the daggers that were sitting on her hips, she took a long look at the curved blade that the daggers have, as well as the curved handles. “I wonder if the game knew about the amount that I can drop things, because these daggers seem shaped for somebody that drops stuff a lot.” Ami continues to examine the daggers, noticing that there seemed to be a rather weaid looking tribal pattern on the dagger. “I wonder if the markings on the dagger mean anything?” Ami stared at the tribal markings on the dagger for a while, until she finally decided that she was unable to read the markings. “No matter, better get to the quest shop to meet with the others!” She put the daggers back inside the case on either side of her hips and continued to walk back to the quest shop.

On the way back to the quest shop, Ami saw the guy in the black coat in the distance; she hid behind the wall to see what he was doing. He seemed to be talking to some sort of NPC; he also had a bag in his right hand. “I wonder what he is trying to do” Ami said to herself. Ami looks again, the NPC takes the bag off the hooded person, and then walks off again, and the hooded guy also leaves. “I wonder what them two were talking about, seemed like they were making some kind of deal” Ami said to herself. Upon leaving the wall, Ami remembers that she needs to get back to the Quest Shop, “OH CRAP, I still need to meet Ryoku!” Ami starts going at a quicker pace to get back to the Quest Shop

Upon getting back to the Quest Shop, Ami sees Ryoku with the guy in the red scarf, and what looked to be a woman. Ami shouts at the top of her voice:

“HEYYYYYY, RYYYYOOOOKKKKUUUUUU!”

Ami starts weaving though the crowd to get to the group.
 
Cecilly laughed as two of the group members walked away from the girl who introduced herself as Rei. "Well it looks like we won't be able to count on those two, seeing as they decided to leave now. But if they decide to come back for whatever reason, I doubt it could hurt. By the way my name is Cecilly and my brother here is Lexington or Lex for short." Lex waved a hand as his sister mentioned his name as well as giving her a scowl for using his full name, something he didn't quite being called by all the time.

Lex ignored the friend invite that popped up first, his thoughts were if they were not gonna join them now they probably wouldn't later. So there was no point in accepting the invites at this time, maybe if they showed back up he would accept them. Cecilly's thoughts were along the same but she was of the opinion that it would be better if they never ran into those two again. Lex meanwhile decided to speak again "So with those two gone now and possibly not coming back anytime soon, care to try and kill some time till this event starts? We know some fun places to kill some time while waiting for this event to start."

Kuro & Alicia | Small Army​

The Party was starting to grow fairly large the other players introduced themselves.

"I'm Kuro & I'm a Death Eater, Like You & Ryoku, I was in the beta as well just not as well known as you two. And yes We'll be entering the event as well." And for good reason he thought to himself, players would get all nice and kiss up to the GM for intel on the event or other stuff, he grimaced at the thought and shook his head to clear his thoughts. He looked over to Alicia nudging her to introduce herself.

"OH! Sorry, I'm Alicia Xeronia.. I'm a uhh Twin Blade!" She had a flustered look on her face when she realized she spaced out a moment.

As they we're starting to introduce themselves Kuro heard another voice in the distance.

“HEYYYYYY, RYYYYOOOOKKKKUUUUUU!”

"I suppose thats the final member of the party then, Ami was it? Looks like we have a nice sizable party." He smirked, it had been awhile since he was in a group this size outside of CC Corp Staff. "Looking Forward to work with you all."

"Likewise, I hope we all get along well" Alicia had her warm smile on when she spoke.
 

As the not-so-small-party started being formed, Ryoku forgot one small thing that would make him unable to participate with the party, and any event itself in the coming month, weeks, and days. Ryoku had completely neglected the fact that his family is to go on vacation next week.

With that in the back of his mind, he stayed silent as Ami, Anzu, Eili, Gozen, Alicia, and Kuro were all talking amongst themselves. Ryoku is conflicted with staying on and watch as the newbies grow into fighters, but at the same time, he has to go and pack up his belongings in the real world for the trip.

"URGHHH", Ryoku let out an upset groan.

"Hey, you guys,

I'll see you all in a month. I have to go pack up for my vacation, which is nearly approaching. Next week to be precise.

Until then, don't do anything awesome without me!"

Ryoku walked off into the distance, towards the same gate he entered in, waving with his left hand goodbye, without looking back, to the people he just met. "Command: Logout" Soon after, Ryoku slowly de-materialized into numbers, while he was still walking, and little by little, he faded, until there was no more of him.

Slowly opening his eyes, he awoke in the real world and took off the HMD very carefully, trying to not pull any cords either.

"HRMH" Ryoku let out a cry of disappointment, grabbed his head, and messed up his hair by rubbing in every direction. "Seriously just ruined my awesome day." He kicked a slipper around in his room.

Rei
~Ready to Rumble~

// Rei turned around to see that her previous party members had disappeared. "Yeah, I suppose you're right..." Rei said while laughing awkwardly. In reality though, Rei felt a tad bit disappointed. It only served as a reminder of how you can't always trust or rely on others. Plus, they seemed to also be beginner players, which may not have been too helpful for Rei at this point.

Meanwhile, the twins in front of her were veteran players (or so they claimed). Perhaps she could attest to this by venturing with them...

"Well, Cecilly and Lex, it'd be an honor to tag along with you both." Just then, Rei realized that she hadn't spent much time exploring the city of Arcadiayet. Always preparing ahead of time, she wanted to check out the market area to see what sorts of armor and items were available to her and estimate how much she would have to save up. "If you two don't mind, I'd like to check out the shops to see what I have to look forward to. I'll be quick!" With that said, she ran off towards the eastern part of the city.

As others players rushed past her, she noticed how much more quickly they were running. The Twin Bladers were particularly fast compared to her. 'Well, that's odd. Maybe it has to do with my character's class...?'

As she arrived at the Armor Shop, she was greeted by the Shop Keeper. Unfortunately, she didn't have any time for pleasantries. She wasn't one to engage in such banter anyhow. And besides, there was a pair of experienced players waiting for her, and she did not want them to become disinterested and go off without her. With that said, she browsed the selection with haste.

She took note of the Aura-specific armor that was currently available: an Elemental Gem for 55 SS and a pair of Bamboo Sandals for 35 SS.

'Ahh, now it all makes sense... I think the Bamboo Sandals will be worth investing in since they will double my speed. They would probably come in handy for evading attacks while I'm casting magic in battle. But for now, my main priority will be to purchase the Elemental Gem, since that will provide a 25% elemental damage boost for my skills.'

Rei accessed her menu to check the amount of Soul Stones she currently had. The amount read as "0 SS."

'...I guess I'll have to wait until I've earned enough Soul Stones then.' Rei thought dejectedly. 'Can't throw a bone in this game, huh? I don't need any favors anyhow.' Rei became excited at the challenge of mastering this game. She decided to make it her personal mission to become one of the most highly renowned Aura players in "The World."

'Ack, I've spent too much time here. I should hurry back to Cecilly and Lex...' She rushed back towards the northern part of the city and was glad to see that the twins had not abandoned her.

"Sorry for the hold up. Now, where shall we venture to?" //

Anzu
Is Dissapoint, but Oh Well...

The arrival of a 7th member of the party, Ami made Anzu even more ecstatic, "More party members!" She shouted, raising her fist into the air. However, the announcement of Ryoku leaving to go on vacation dulled the mood quickly. Still, 6 party members was nothing to sneeze at. Waving farewell to Ryoku as he disappeared into data, she then turned to the group, and introduced herself. "Well, as you may already know, my name is Anzu. I'm a Swordmaster." She said, drawing her single Katana, and showing the party the blade's fine craftsmanship.

All this time thinking, she nearly forgot to accept the invitation, and she immediately accepted, officially putting her in the same party as everyone else. Now she was ready to go at any time, ready to see the world, and complete the quest.
 
Coco said while looking at Rieko without turning her head, "Do you think they'll come along?" He replied, "I don't know." Rieko looked around to see what kind of place Winding Secret Pinwheel turned out to be. They were area words they picked up while travelling The World over the past week exploring and meeting various people. The sky was slightly cloudy and very bright, and the entire field was a desert. Huge shells from sea creatures and sandy hills covered the landscape. There were lakes here as well. Rieko noticed something odd flying and spinning while moving across the sky. It was something he had never seen before in other areas. It was a giant covered in mummy wrappings with arms spread out on either side, and its legs pointed towards its destination in the sky. He thought it was one of the nicest things he's seen since playing The World. Rieko paused for a moment and scouted the area.

Coco called out a skill as it started increasing movement speed for the both of them, "Lucky Stars. Let's see what's here, Rieko." Rieko and Coco started running all over the field as they've been doing with their time spent together. The area still had no signs of monsters or any lucky animal. After a minute of running through an endless desert, they finally came across a giant crab monster and two witches. The area's music began to change as the pair entered the game's battle mode. Rieko thought the game was getting a lot easier, and he really seemed to enjoy the graphics of everything.

Rieko called out his first skill, "Ripped Mummy." The three monsters were hit with an area effect and were put to sleep. Coco gladly said heading towards the monster crab, "Dinner and Dancing." Her scythe skill went straight through it, and she followed up with a normal swing hitting all three monsters. Rieko soon followed with an ice skill, "Rue Juru." Columns of ice formed and crashed into the monster group. The battle was over, and the music changed back to normal. Coco said, "That was amazing! I wonder what else is here!"

Kuro & Alicia | Reorganizing​

Kuro sighed since Ryoku left, only player he really knew well aside from Alicia, He bucked up and spoke up to the group.

"Well, Once Ami is in our party we can head to the Gate and go to a field, while we're waiting on her anyone have a idea what type of field they want to go to?" He Asked everyone. "We have alot of options to go to, Deserts, Beaches, Grasslands, Swamps, Volcanos, etc."

"Oh! The beach would be fun!" Alicia blurted out excitedly.

"Well thats one, what about you guys? I Feel its needed that we work together on this event, since its a so called "God", no one will be able to solo it and I figure having a good sized party would be helpful later on once we're all summoned." Kuro said to the group.

Ami: Meeting Up​

Ami walked to the group, a large crowd have seem to have gathered, Maybe Ryoku wanted to hunt in a big group. Just then, Ryoku annonced that he had to sign off for a few weeks to go on holiday, and in that second, Ryoku disappeared. 'Well this is very awkard, I never met any of these people before in my life, what am I going to do!' Ami thought to herself as she got into the crowd. The guy who had the red scarf around his waist spoke to the whole group.

"We have alot of options to go to, Deserts, Beaches, Grasslands, Swamps, Volcanos, etc." Then a woman spoke, she seemed to have been with Kuro, the man with the red scarf, replied to the answer. "Oh! The beach would be fun!"

Ami heard this, and a big smile came on her soft face, Ami has never been to any sort of beach, Tokyo was in the middle of Japan after all. "OMG, I would love to go to the beach, I never been to a beach before" Ami replied.
 
Rieko and Coco kept running through the desert field. The landscape was great. They had never seen an area like this before. They stopped for a moment while Coco laughed a little to herself. She was standing in front of Rieko while the pair stared at a large comb sticking out of the desert. The part that was sticking out of the sand was taller than both of their characters. While looking above again, Rieko could still see the giant mummy fly and spin through the sky. He heard a sound coming from the corner. He turned his head while Coco herself began to notice. Rieko quietly said, "That's a moose." Coco had a huge grin on her face and yelled, "That's the Grand Kudan!"

Coco performed a skill again to increase movement speed on the both of them, "We got lucky again! Lucky Stars." The happy pair who have been enjoying The World started chasing the Grand Kudan across the desert and ran around in circles. Coco turned her head to Rieko while running and yelled, "Hurry! We have to kick it!" The Grand Kudan got to an area next to a sand dune and turned left. It was right in Rieko's path. He was able to kick it, and the animal moved back by a few feet. It said, "Ooooh. Kudan. Kudan. You kick. Would you like some bit of insight into the future or would you like an area word for later?"

Rieko stood with his arms folded together and had a hand held up to his chin. He decided it was best to choose insight. The Grand Kudan looked at the pair and continued, "Ooooh. Kudan. Kudan. First, you must answer a question. Kudan. Kudan." They stood waiting while the tiny moose was sitting in the sand about to ask its question. If Rieko can get it right, he could get a piece of insight they could use for the future. If he answers wrong, both of them will have to start all over. Rieko wouldn't mind having to revisit the area, but there was still a temple in the desert that could be explored.

Seeing Rei walk back up after appearing to venture to the item shop real quick she asked "Sorry for the hold up. Now, where shall we venture to?" Lex turned to Cecilly and started to grin broadly an almost mischievous yet playful grin before speaking. "The beach area sounds good about now, after all there is a chance we can run into the lucky animals. Sides if we run into the right one I am sure the revive item it gives us will be handy for this quest, and with three people around it should be more then easy enough to corner and kick. We could go to Marvelous Sparkling Beach the area there is at least pretty lax after all we don't want to expend ourselves to much before this event."

Cecily let out a long drawn out sigh to show a somewhat disapproval, she knew the reason her brother was beginning to act a little giddy was so he could show off. After all if they did see a lucky animal all he have to do is cast his shadow self and that usually ended up doing the trick. But then again he did raise a point about the revive item for the quest, but seeing a lucky animal let alone even that one while the more common type was still a rare chance. Giving up she hung her shoulders and hung her head some before saying, "Well I suppose you do have a point, but you don't need to get all excited about it, I don't know what it is with you and beaches anyways. Besides you do raise a good point about the quest though, and if this girl Rei was it? If she is as new as she looks you have another point, it wouldn't do well to go to our usual areas where there are loads of enemies, this way she can be broken into the game more easily." Looking over to Rei Cecilly spoke again, "I suppose you wouldn't have problems with the beach and a low encounter area would you? If not you heard where my brother said so we can meet you there if you want to come along."

With that being said Lex and Cecilly turned towards the gate to go to the beach area and disappeared in the usual blue glowing light before again materializing in the same fashion in the area they gave Rei. Lex just sat on the ground one leg arched up and the other outstretched before turning to his sister and speaking. "Do you think she will come or what? From what I could gather she seemed a bit confused what to do after those other two left. I didn't care for those two at all sending an invite and just leaving like they did, didn't seem like they cared to be in a team either."
Cecilly just shrugged and replied, "I don't know nor do I care about those two, as for that new girl Rei, I think she might be joining us. As you said those two just up and left after we left and didn't really seem to extend the invitation again."

Kuro & Alicia | Destination​

Kuro and the others we're still trying to decide on where to go exactly when a female voice spoke up.

"OMG, I would love to go to the beach, I never been to a beach before"

The owner of the voice was in a bright red schoolgirl outfit, this was most likely Ami. "Ahh So your Ami then? Ryoku said you'd be joining us, and the beach hmmm looks like thats 3 for the beach." He sent over a party invitation to Ami. "What About the rest of you Matabe, Anzu, Eile? You have any specific places you wanna see? If not we'll go ahead and go to a beach area." He spoke towards the rest of the undecided group waiting for their answer.

"I'm so excited~ I don't care where we go as long as its something good." Alicia was squirming around more about ready to run off towards the gate. She seemed as impatient as Ryoku and Anzu.
 
Rei
~Beautiful Beaches~

// Rei watched as the twins headed towards the Gate. 'People certainly don't waste any time around here!' Rei thought to herself, thoroughly amused. She followed suit and walked over to the Gate to access the beach area that Lex had mentioned. "Marvelous Sparkling Beach..." Rei whispered as she input the keywords into the command prompt. Blue rings surrounded her body as she materialized and warped into the new area.

Just like its namesake, the beach area was quite marvelous. The white sand and crystal clear blue water were more than realistic - they were ideal. The ocean stretched out beyond human imagination and the water was indeed sparkling. "It's amazing how all of this can be reduced to merely data."

As Cecilly noted earlier, there did not appear to be many enemies in the area. This would work out just fine for Rei though. She wasn't a fan for making a fool out of herself. Rei had played RPGs in the past, but the virtual reality element of The World posed an additional challenge for her. Rei observed the area and surely enough she saw Lex and Cecilly waiting nearby. She walked towards the pair and gave a slight wave.

"So, Lex mentioned the possibility of finding a Lucky Animal here? I was wondering how-" Suddenly they felt a slight tremor similar to that of an earthquake. The ocean no longer had calm beach-like waves, but rather the waves rouse more frequently and aggressively than before. Although Rei was great at maintaining a poker face, she was worried and slightly nervous about what was to come. She attempted to calm herself down by mentally reciting a little mantra. 'This is only a game, this is only a game... albeit a realistic one.'

A screeching sound could be heard from the ocean. Just then, a dragon-like creature crashed through the surface of the ocean and revealed itself. The creature had a serpent shaped body with dragon-like features. It had blue scaly skin adorned with sharp scales along its back, razor sharp teeth and claws, and a pair of menacing red eyes.

"...This wouldn't happen to be one of those 'Lucky Animals' you mentioned earlier, right?" //

Where to Go?

Anzu began to overhear the new conversation on where to go.

So far, it seemed three people decided for the beach. Anzu contemplated, for a moment, and it wasn't until Kuro insisted, "What About the rest of you Matabe, Anzu, Eile? You have any specific places you wanna see? If not we'll go ahead and go to a beach area.," that Anzu began to say. "To me, it doesn't really matter where I go, any place in particular is worth exploring, if we're going to the beach, I don't mind!" She said with a smile, sheathing her sword after having it out for a while.

Grand Kudan Event​

"Kuuuuudan~" The Lucky Animal Bellowed out as it seemed to have a question they could answer.

"Here is my Question , Kudan. What Creature starts on all 4's , Then moves onto 2 legs, and finally ends with 3?" The Kudan Asked the players who kicked it, it was a rather simple puzzle but challenging enough for young players who don't do trivia often.

"Kuuuuudan~ Kudan~ Can you Answer My Riddle~?"
 
Rieko stood with his hand on his chin and kept thinking about the Grand Kudan's riddle. Coco stayed in silence while standing beside him and looking at the tiny lucky animal. Rieko said after a moment, "I almost want to say a pair of glasses ... It's not a creature ... I'm going to go with a human being."
 
Kudan Event Part II​

"Kuudan~ Correct!" The Small animal said loudly.

"Now Listen,Kudan.... This Insight may or may not save you or a friend from death Kudan. The Being known as Skeith, is no normal beast, it is a highly intelligent monster that is massive in size and in power, if you are hit by one of its skills you will know "True" Death Kudan. You cannot fight this being alone, doing so will result in your demise." The Kudan Spoke its tone was serious as he explained his knowledge. Before he exploded into a puff of smoke ending the event he spoke one more time. "Kuudan, Find allies to fight with you and forge a strong bond with them." The small animal disappears in the small cloud of smoke ending the event.
 
Eile Mura: Beach?

"What About the rest of you Matabe, Anzu, Eile? You have any specific places you wanna see? If not we'll go ahead and go to a beach area."

"To me, it doesn't really matter where I go, any place in particular is worth exploring, if we're going to the beach, I don't mind!"

Eile shifted a bit as the beach was said out loud. Smiling a bit, Eile nodded as agreed.

"I think the beach would be fine." Eile whispered as she looked at the other people, silently eager to go to the beach.

Gozen Matabei

Time to set off...!

Haha! I too, would not mind the beach, but just a heads up to you excited ones, we aren't there to play....

Matabei paused for a second as she pondered on her last remark, hand on chin as if in deep thought. Technically, she began to think, everything anyone did in the game was playing. That then made her think even further. If we are to just mess around, why play at a beach? Why not just play in real life... ah.... such a conundrum.... While Matabei played at trying to be a philosopher, she accepted the part request and checked her stuff. One could never be too careful when wandering out of town.

...well, technically, we are. Lets hope we find something worthy or hope something exciting happen eh? Well, leader? Lead the way when we are all ready.

Given it was them that merged with Kuro's group, it was a given that he was to be the leader of the party. That meant he was also to be the tour guide for the newer players and Matabei could relax and be carefree.
