[RP] Children of Aether

Crimson
Fire Witch

"Now, now... what are you two doing acting all suspicious, huh?"

Crimson almost jumped out of her skin as a man with a thick accent came sneaking up behind her. She turned around her eyes angry at being snuck up on.

"What do you ca--" She paused and looked at his hand... it was holding onto a weapon... a hammer or so it seemed...she thought a moment... who carries a weapon like that around with them, a knight. Crimson suddenly became nervous. There was another knight. She didn't know if he was friendly like Ardis or heath or if he was out for blood.

She gave Ardis a quick glance and then looked back at the new guy and continued her sentence. "Erm, what do you care?? You should probably mind your own business, it's rude to interfere in other people's business."

She placed her hands on her hips and watched the man with her eyebrows raised trying to hide the fear in her eyes. This was no good. She was surrounded by knights and a possible witch, not the best position for a witch to be in.

~*~

(ooc) short post. I couldn't be bothered waiting for Frau to finally notice Crimson haha so we're having a discussion right near Heath and Tristana. :)

OOC: Sorry Squid. Been all over the place. XD

"She took witches captive?" Tristana took a step forward. "And you didn't tell me this before? I swear to The Horned King Heath you're some kind of imbecile. Do you not know how dangerous it is for two witches to be in proximity to each other? You stupid, stupid, useless Knight. A wet rag would have more sense than you."

Raising her hand to steady her own nerves and fury, she sighed, her anger abated as quickly as it had come. "There's no use in thinking about it now, I suppose. Take me to that apartment. I might be able to perform a scry if I can find any blood. Let's g-"

Cutting herself off mid sentence as a rush of power washed over her, she raised her nose to the air and sniffed, feeling something nearby. What in the world was that? Something hot and burning, seeming to raise the temperature of the air itself even as she detected it. Stepping out of the alleyway, she caught sight of the source of her detection, talking with a man she couldn't be bothered to scan considering there was another Witch right next to her.

"You!" She barked, clicking her fingers furiously in a single, decisive snap that sent nearby pigeons into a terrified retreat into the skies. "Get your scrawny ass over here! Now!" Keeping her eyes fixed firmly on the girl, Heath was forgotten for the moment.

Hale was suddenly hungry after his training, and so had decided to leave to buy a quick snack from the local store. He'd probably get something like crisps. Chocolate was a no go since Iris would eat that, and the mere smell of anything sugary would turn Ivan into a kleptomaniac.

Shifting his arms and shoulders to relieve some of the tension from sword swinging, he sighed in relief as the cartilage popped, relieving some of the pressure from his muscles. The shop was in sight now, and he could already taste his sna-

Wait. What was that? An odd sensation washed over him, a chill running down his spine and causing him to shiver as a reflex action. What was that?

Wait, was there something here? Something that wasn't human? He'd been told of a Knight's heightened senses, but he didn't think he'd feel it here, in the heart of Order territory. His eyes scanned the street. A casual trip out for food had turned into a top alert scan.

There it was. Two girls, looking almost for the world like your typical women, talking in hushed tones. But Hale knew better. He stepped forward, unable to take his eyes off the girls and unsure of what to do. If he intervened, he probably wouldn't have the power to overcome them one on one. But going back to alert the Order carried the very real possibility of the two leaving before a team could arrive to deal with the threat. And if he kept staring at them like this, they were bound to notice him.

Ardis was a bit taken back by the harshness of her tone, but then again he did call her stupid so he deserved. "So that try didn't work what else is there." He thought to himself as she just reamed him a new one "Perhaps I want to be alone? Perhaps I am trying to get rid of you because I don't like your company?"

"Look no one likes being alone and well if you don't like my company well then I will have to..."

"Now, now... what are you two doing acting all suspicious, huh?"

He was interrupted by another man who seemed to be a knight, slightly stepping in front of Crimson and putting an arm in front of her he spoke to the man that came up to the two of them.

"I don't know what would seem more, two people who are actually out just for a walk and heard something strange and stopped. Or someone coming up to those two and asking a question. It would see your trying to start some trouble sir. Do you think you could leave us alone, my friend and I will be on our way then."

Now lowering his arm and lightly putting his arm on Crimson shoulder gently he started to say, "So let's be on our way and get....." Only to get interrupted again by another person this time a women, yet she was yelling at Crimson. This one seemed to come from the alleyway that the two stopped at.

"Oh for the love of, can't we get any breaks here today?"

[OOC: Awful post is awful :sad3:]

Heath endured Tristana's little tirade, fighting against the little smile that creeped along the corners of his mouth. She couldn't stay angry with him for very long - that hadn't changed. It was funny, it hadn't felt like that long since they had been apart...although they had shared but a few short hours together the last time...

"Well, telling you wouldn't exactly make any difference, would it? I'm amazed you haven't noticed by this point, she's been tearing up the entire town. Besides, Alyss can take care of herself." I hope. Goddess only knows what has gone on there...

Heath frowned as Tristana stepped out of the alleyway, confronting someone outside of it. What was going on here? Since when did she become so jumpy...

Oh. Oh no. Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no...

"Crimson, Ardis...how did things go?" Heath asked calmly, placing a restraining hand on Tristana's shoulder. "We've got a little bit of a situation here...but my dear friend here has a potential solution we were about to try. I see you've found another ally, as well. I've not seen you before, Brother...but then, I spend little time at the temple. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?"

This was just fantastic. Two Witches, three Knights. An even contest, given that Tristana would never co-operate with this girl...she wasn't the type. But a battle was the last thing Heath wanted right now...after all, this was Poppy's neighbourhood...

---

Lily winced. Why was she taking this as a joke? That she was right really did not help matters. She felt a brief surge of anger, and immediately regretted it. Why was she getting angry with Alyss? She was the one leading her on here, she was the one at fault.

Lily had indeed seen that part of Alyss' life...and had found that it didn't really bother her that much that she was a killer...no, she wasn't a killer. She had felt each and every one of Alyss' feelings over the course of that time (or, it seemed that way) and she more than understood her actions. Indeed, she wished that she had Alyss' strength of will, her strength of character...she could never have done something like that.

"Okay..." Lily reached across the table, wincing. Her fingernails had left rather nasty indentations in her palms...although she hadn't drawn blood. It might have been a relief if she had...at least then she would have had to stop. As it was, her hands were going to ache for quite some time...

Suddenly, she was feeling very uneasy. Her response died in her throat as she glanced out the window instinctively, to find a young man staring through the window...staring? Why would he be staring at two girls having a coffee?

Me. He's staring at me.

Shadows darted across the floor as Lily slowly, but surely, began to piece things together. This. This had been her plan all along. To lure Lily into a false sense of security, and then turn her over to the Knights...she'd be harmless now that Alyss had her powers. Lily had thought that Alyss was the one being used by the Knights, but realised now that it was, in fact, the other way around. She must have done the same thing to that redhaired witch she had been with - Crimson, was it? - before she came across Lily. She could cut off her emotions with her powers...why not her memories, as well? She must have erased her memories before sharing her name with Lily, or blocked them somehow, so she hadn't seen them...

With immense effort, she brought the shadows under control; an iron hard, determined grip, nothing like her usual attitude. They WOULD do as she wanted them to; she wasn't going to die here, not like this. She prayed that she was just overthinking things, and that the guy was simply checking her out...as long as he didn't come in...whilst she was resisting for Alyss' own good, a sliver of hope had creeped into her that they could, just possibly, maybe, be friends. She wasn't ready to have that snuffed out so viciously yet...

"What do you ca--"

Aldra sensed the nervousness and fear that the women was feeling as she stopped to look at him holding onto his weapon. Seeing that that would probably not go anywhere, the German let off the grip of his war-hammer and just fixed his longcoat. The woman then said, "Erm, what do you care?? You should probably mind your own business, it's rude to interfere in other people's business."

Aldra noted the hypocrisy in that sentence, and responded accordingly, "Wouldn't it be ironic then, spying on someone else, interfering in another person's business?"

The man held back the red-headed girl who somewhat annoyed and scared over the Knight's appearance. He was pretty calm though, something typical of a knight.

"I don't know what would seem more, two people who are actually out just for a walk and heard something strange and stopped. Or someone coming up to those two and asking a question. It would see your trying to start some trouble sir. Do you think you could leave us alone, my friend and I will be on our way then."

Aldra had a slight smile on his face. "Fair enough, try not to get yourself in any trouble."

"So let's be on our way and get....."

"You! Get your scrawny ass over here! Now!"

Aldra looked down the alleyway and saw a female that was seemingly irate over something. Maybe she knew they were being spied on, or maybe it had to do with the guy she was talking to. Whatever the case may be, this might not be fun if she turned out to be a witch.

"Oh for the love of, can't we get any breaks here today?"

"Apparently not..." Aldra said in a calm, nonchalant tone, a break from his usual serious demeanor. Aldra counted in his mind, three knights and two witches. It's not often that knights and witches team up, and it's only usually the case when they must face either a powerful renegade knight or an equally as powerful witch.

Speaking of the third knight, he came up to hold the irate female on the shoulder, trying to restrain her for a moment. "Crimson, Ardis...how did things go?"

After listening to what the red-head, fittingly named Crimson and the knight Ardis speak, the other knight said, "We've got a little bit of a situation here...but my dear friend here has a potential solution we were about to try. I see you've found another ally, as well. I've not seen you before, Brother...but then, I spend little time at the temple. May I have the pleasure of knowing your name?"

He introduced himself "My name is Aldra, and I wouldn't be surprised if you have not seen me before, I've only arrived in the country just a few hours ago. Care to tell me your name, Bruder? (Brother) I also wish to know what the situation is, I've only received vague details when I left the Temple in Eastern Germany."

So it seems that there was a common threat that needed to be taken care of, but who, and how...

[OOC: Kind of short, but good enough.]

Something was seriously wrong. Shadows were racing across the floor before Lily had stilled them under her control. Alyss looked around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. However, something had to have had Lily quite panicked in order for her to react so suddenly. “Lily, what is wrong?” Alyss asked, her own voice rising just a bit out of panic. She wanted to be prepared, she wanted to start charging her powers, but she knew that if she did she would only get Lily panicked even more… and that was the last thing that she wanted.

But still… Alyss saw nothing. Not seeing what Lily was seeing set Alyss on edge. Normally, she wasn’t the type to get frightened, but seeing Lily react the way she had was starting to get her panicked as well. “Please, Lily, what is it? What do you see?”

Crimson
Fire Witch

Crimson twitched as Ardis put his arm around her. She was not up for this touchy feel-y business. She was about to swat his hand away when the woman from the alley way screamed out at her.

"You! Get your scrawny ass over here! Now!"

The hair's on Crimson's neck stood on end. The woman had a mean tone to her voice... and she called her scrawny?? Crimson happened to think she was anything but scrawny.

Shoving Ardis's hand off her she turned to the woman, Green-grey eyes glaring at the woman. She was about to open her big mouth when that douche Heath came from the alley

"Crimson, Ardis...how did things go?"

"well I burnt the tree down if that's what you meant..." She smirked. "It probably fell and crushed a few people but that's a small price to pay.

The Knight with the hammer then went on to introduce himself as Aldra. Crimson didn't like this situation at all. She focused her eyes on the older woman wondering what kind of witch she was... wondering how strong she was. She was much older than Crimson, which meant she had more experience... she'd have to be careful around her.

The redhead then remembered... "Alyss...what happened to Alyss, Heath? Oh, and that little kid from the cafe?? Did you go and get them killed with your stupid plan to split us up??" She mostly wanted to know if Poppy had obtained two new elements but she also found she was slightly worried for that electricity witch, who knew what kind of horrible things Poppy had done to her.

Tristana briefly returned her attention to Heath with a glare that would petrify anyone of a weak disposition. Unfortunately, Heath was anything but weak. "Shut your trap, Knight Boy!" she snapped. "I'm the one asking the questions here!"

Turning her attention back to the Witch, her eyes narrowed, her tone lowering, yet still loud enough to draw attention as she jerked Heath's hand off her shoulder with a haughty shrug. "Alright, you little brat. Talk. Element, age, place of residence. You have ten seconds. Go."

"Oh, and keep in mind." She stared Crimson straight in the eye. "If you've been using your powers so blatantly to "Burn trees down" and "crush a few people", Poppy will track you down and take your life essence. And if you lie to me you'll wish she had found you. Now speak! Three seconds!"

With no other option than to go in, eavesdrop on their conversation, and try to call the Order on his cell, Hale entered the coffee shop and sat down without placing an order, hoping he hadn't drawn any undue attention to himself.

"Alright, you little brat. Talk. Element, age, place of residence. You have ten seconds. Go."

"Little Brat??"

"Oh, and keep in mind. If you've been using your powers so blatantly to 'Burn trees down' and 'crush a few people', Poppy will track you down and take your life essence. And if you lie to me you'll wish she had found you. Now speak! Three seconds!"

Wow!! Crimson couldn't believe this woman, who the hell did she think she was randomly appearing then demanding 100 answers from Crimson. She was surprised the woman didn't just ask straight out for her real name, She might as well have.

"Firstly, you Moody Bitch, I burnt down that tree to make life easier for those pathetic humans, Poppy created that thing, I just cleaned up her mess." She was furious.

"Secondly I am not giving you all that information unless you tell me first, Why would you need my address anyway? Are you planning on killing me in my sleep??" her blood was boiling. She needed to calm down but this woman was.... incredibly rude!! Almost like an older version of herself...

"And thirdly, more asked out of curiosity but how do you know that dumbass knight?? He's the idiot that got me into this mess in the first place, he's the reason Poppy knows what I look like now."

It was probably more Crimson's fault for intervening in the first place back at that alleyway where it all began but she couldn't help but blame Heath. She needed someone to blame after all.

"Of course. My name is Heath. You may or may not have heard of me...I'm not sure how far my infamy has spread." he gave the other a small smile. Germany, eh? What was he doing here, so far away from home? Did he know what the hell was going on here, or was this one of those funny little coincidences, too? Question time would have to wait...Tristana was clearly on edge, and Crimson still hadn't calmed down. Heath wondered, privately, if she would ever calm down.

He groaned, "I specifically requested that you not burn that tree down. You've probably done more harm than good...you're not helping here, Crimson." he shook his head, wondering if she actually meant what she said, or if she was just saying it because she was worked up...both, probably, "I split us up because you were about ready to murder Alyss, and Poppy would have taken you out in a matter of seconds. Your attitude here is just telling me how right I was in doing so...could you please calm down?"

Heath looked from Tristana to Crimson, still keeping a hand on her shoulder. If either of them decided to attack, he'd place himself squarely between them. Tristana wouldn't be able to hurt him and, hopefully, she'd defend him if necessary. Aldra and Ardis would be able to subdue Crimson, hopefully. If there was going to be a fight, it was going to be a brief one, and nobody was going to die.

These two were horrifyingly similar...well, somewhat. Crimson was a little more...innocent. She simply reacted. Tristana was entirely calculated, which was what made her so intimidating...to others, anyway.

He did intervene, however, when Crimson decided to blame him for her misfortune. "I think that is a little unfair. I'm not the one who forced you to reveal yourself...not that I didn't appreciate the help, but you heard me warn Alyss, and came out anyway...you made the decision on your own." Heath replied, perhaps a little more sharply than he had intended. Of course, much of this was his fault, but they had placed their faith in him and, whilst he hadn't done a perfect job, he couldn't be held accountable for everything that had gone wrong. Certainly not that. Poppy would have found her in any case and, alone, she would stand a much greater chance of being killed. Surely she realised this...yes, perhaps that was why she was so riled.

"Can we all calm down, please? Twenty questions can wait, there are things to be done." Heath was anxious to continue looking for Alyss. That was his fault. Not that he could have done anything to prevent things from going any way other than how they did, but he still felt responsible. He needed to find her, be she alive or dead.

---

Whilst she wasn't looking, Lily knew that the boy had entered the shop, and he was now sitting somewhere behind her. She couldn't risk looking at him - then both he and Alyss would know she was on to them both, and that would be that. But...what did it matter? This had been her plan all along. It hurt Lily, more than she could bear. After all those things she'd said, after everything done, it was only to end like this. The same way it had started. With them trying to kill her, simply because she existed.

I should have let Poppy finish her off.

She was fighting back tears. Why? Why had she done this? Why did everyone do this to her? Was she truly so despicable, so cursed, a person that she deserved betrayal at every turn? Each and every time she opened her heart, her very self, to people, they ripped it apart and returned it to her, piece by shattered piece. She was so unbelievably naive. Why had she expected this time to be any different?

"N-no...you're not going to get me...why..." she was shaking, trying to think of somewhere, anywhere, that she could go. She couldn't stay here. She needed to get out, now, before she was captured and killed.

Completely unaware of a Knight entering the café, Alyss was still completely dumbfounded on what was going on. With her being distracted by Lily’s panicking, she never knew that yet another Knight was less than a few meters away. Lily was on the verge of tears, and Alyss had no idea why. “Please, Lily… we shared names, you can trust me. Just tell me what is wrong, tell me what you see, please? I can help, I swear I can help. Just give me the chance.”

Looking around frantically, she still couldn’t see what was making Lily freak out the way she was. It made no sense… just a few moments ago, she was fine, it seemed as if they were making progress. Then the next minute, that progress was up and gone like dust in the wind. Lily was worse off than when they first started speaking. All that had happened in the last two minutes was a man entering the café… Wait a minute…

She glanced, ever so briefly at the man… but nothing seemed out of order. Indeed, something seemed off, but she didn’t see any real reason to suspect anything more. However, she didn’t start panicking until that man entered… “Lily… is that man over there the reason you are upset? We can leave, we can get away from here… Please, Lily, speak to me.” Alyss wanted to turn her pain off again so she wouldn’t have to feel her body protest from every slight movement. However, she realized that in a fight, that wouldn’t be a good idea. If she took a blow too hard, she wouldn’t know it… and she could die.

However, even if her body was broken at the moment, she wasn’t about to let anything harm or bother Lily anymore. She looked Lily dead in the eyes, “Lily, you can trust me… I have your back, I can protect you.” She wasn’t lying, she would tear the café apart and half of England if she had to. Seeing Lily this upset was throwing her into a mindset she had never been in before. At this very moment, all that mattered… all Alyss wanted to do was protect Lily.

[OOC: She's vanishing now...although she'll turn up again later, I have moar plans :wacky:]

How could she have been so stupid?

Alyss hadn't noticed, which made it all the more suspicious, leaving Lily without even the slightest doubt. Lily knew her personality, at the very least, she knew she wouldn't miss something like this. How could she? Every alarm bell in Lily's head was going off in a deafening chorus that was, inch by inch, overwhelming what little composure she had left. Alyss wasn't totally blind to danger...which could only mean that she was in no danger. Which could only mean she was working with him.

His eyes were burning holes in her back. She could feel his murderous intent, and it terrified her. She recalled Alyss' other Knight friend, Heath, and the way he had single-mindedly hacked through Poppy's barrier, displaying a spirit so powerful that he might well have been able to cut down all three of them without even breaking a sweat. This Knight, was he capable of the same? Was he even now calling in his friends through some link (a wild speculation, but it was the only way to explain why he wasn't moving) they all shared, so they could surround her and subdue her, and extract Alyss, their Witch, without any difficulties?

Oh, now she noticed. She must have cottoned on to Lily's panicking, and was now trying to rectify the situation, at least long enough for backup to arrive. Alyss knew that Lily wasn't stupid; naive, weak-minded and paranoid, yes, but not stupid. Well, it was too little, too late.

"Just like everyone else, you're just like everyone else." Lily said, shaking. She was having difficulty getting the words out...but they needed to be said, otherwise she would never believe them, and she would live this lie for the rest of her life...however short that may be, "I-I should have kn-known you were working with the Knights, just to get to me, to t-take my power for your own. Everything else...a lie. It was all leading up to this. No. No." she clutched her head with both hands, "You'll not have me. You'll not have me!"

She stood up then, her chair clattering loudly to the floor, and released her hold on the shadows, allowing them to rush across the room, blanketing her entirely. Take me away. Me. Just me. She repeated this, over and over, in her mind, praying that the shadows would understand, and that she wouldn't find herself with Alyss and the Knight in the corner in a less public place, where they could have their way with her.

They swarmed over her figure, obscuring her vision...and, suddenly, Lily found herself somewhere else. The temperature had not changed, yet the feeling was gone. She no longer felt threatened, although her heart was still pounding...yet, she felt strangely detached from the entire process.

The darkness was oddly comforting. Lily had never opened her eyes before when calling upon her powers to take her away like this; she had only ever used the power out of fear. Now, that she finally did, she found that it made no difference. Witch of Darkness or no, she couldn't see anything, because there was nothing to see. Yet, rather than scare her, she felt strangely relieved. It felt as though she were floating in space, only the stars had gone out, been snuffed out of existence entirely.

A strange clarity had descended over Lily then. She could leave this place (if, indeed, it was a place...could darkness ever truly be a place? Had she merged with them, or was this a world that could only be accessed by them?) any time she wanted; after all, she had willed herself here. She knew this to be true instinctively, as though she could sense the darkness around her preparing to direct her motionless body to the place she wanted to go...wherever that was. Here, she knew with certainty, was one place where nobody, not Alyss, not Poppy, maybe not even the Horned King, could reach her. Here, she was safe. Here, she was alone...in every sense.

It was only now, finally, that she allowed herself to cry.

[OOC: Poor Lily… ;_;]

Lily was gone in a blink of an eye. The few people in the café, including the employees, but minus the man that had just walked in, had all left. Alyss was alone in the café with someone she could only assume was a Knight. The only words that Alyss had ever let bother her were the words of her Mother… but Lily’s words to her hurt, and they cut deep. Standing up from her chair, she limped over and stood where Lily was once standing… It was almost as if she just dissolved completely into the floor. Was that how she teleported them all earlier?

A couple of tears welled up in Alyss’ eyes. She was upset that she lost someone that could have been a friend, but even more than that, she was angry. With everything that she had gone though, she ended up alone, and with nothing to show for it but a few extra scars, and a power that she was suddenly feeling guilty… as if she stole it. Her body was in pain, her mind was an emotional mess, and with that mess it felt as if those wounds Poppy had given her had just opened up again.

With her strength being what it was, she fell to her knees and sat on the backs of her legs as she clutched her head, attempting to take everything in. However, she was far too angry for that. She hated that man that sat over there. That short looking blond man, sitting over there like his shit didn’t stink… Alyss hated him. Normally, Alyss was logical, cold, and methodical… at that moment, she was simply one of those things; cold.

She looked up at the man, tears still in her eyes as she started yelling at him. “DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU HAVE JUST DONE?!” Alyss had lost it, all her logic was just thrown right out the window. “First I meet Heath and Ardis and help them, I meet Crimson and she hates me, then I meet Poppy and she tortures me, I hardly get out of that and Lily and I make a connection…” She was struggling to continue at this point. “AND THEN YOU SHOW UP AND BLOW IT ALL TO HELL! I HATE YOU… NO, I LOATHE YOU!”

Crouching forward Alyss slammed her already hurt hands onto the ground and hid her face as she started crying. It was unlike her, it was foreign to her, but she didn’t care. She was going to be an emotion wreck and she didn’t give a damn who was around to witness it. “Why did you have to come along?!”, Alyss shouted, a sob interrupting every other word. That was the first connection with another human being she had made in years, and losing it hurt far more than a cactus spine through her hand. She would much rather go through another one of Poppy’s tortures than have to endure what she just felt.

It felt good to let that all out, to shout and rant and rave at someone she didn’t know. It took a few moments, but Alyss regained her composure and wiped the tears from her eyes as she leaned back up and sat on her hind legs again. “You there, idiot,” Alyss said, her tone filled with venom and mocking. “Only a Knight shows up at places they are not wanted and sticks their noses where they do not belong… by that logic, you know Heath… a much better idiot than yourself.” Wiping another tear from her eye, she thought about turning off the emotional pain she was feeling at the moment. However, with being as distracted as she was, she could easily make a mistake and turn something else off… With her logic coming back to her, she deemed it a bad idea.

If the man attacked, she was going to blow him away with everything that she had. Her body may have been aching, but she could still fire lightning… and he would be perfect to test out her new found power on him. Usually, she wasn’t one to condone that kind of violence on another person, Witch, Knight, or no… However, she was angry enough to fuse him to a wall without a second thought.

“I must find Heath, and let him know that I am fine,” Alyss said. “You would be even more stupid than you already are to not tell me where he is. So, where is he?” A part of her wanted him to answer… another part of her wanted him to try and attack her… but both parts of her wanted to punch Heath in the face for failing to understand the concept of having someone else’s back. Noticing her eye patch was soaked again only irritated her more. “Go on, spit it out, I do not have all day,” Alyss said. The faster she could get back to him, the faster she could find a way to stop Poppy… and perhaps find Lily and let her know that everything was okay.

"An eye for an eye makes the world go blind, you stupid, stupid girl." Tristana's teeth were gritted; she was practically hissing. "Poppy will be able to tell exactly who burned that tree down and when. And then she will use that information to track you down. She's the Nature Witch, meaning that something as simple as tracking you down through the tree you destroyed will be simple to her."

She pulled out another cigarette with such force she almost dropped the entire box, lighting a cigarette and inhaling so deeply the urge to cough was phenomenal, yet suppressed, and it helped to calm her down.

"Next, connections, kid! Connections! I live in this area. Poppy lives in this area. Knight Boy here"- she threw an almost accusing finger out to Heath-"lives in this area. If you live in this area it's no coincidence. We've been brought together for a reason, and I don't like it when fate intervenes. It usually means something bad is going to happen."

"And lastly, that dumbass Knight probably saved your ass, and nobody gets to call their savior a dumbass. Especially not stupid little girls with more hair than brain!"
______________________________________________________________
Hale blanched as the girl vanished into the shadows, and the second one stood up, facing him with tears in her eyes, a glare that would melt steel fixing on him, and suddenly he felt even smaller than usual.

"Look, I just did my job," he said, struggling to keep the stammer out of his voice. "You Witches are a danger to everything we've worked for, and I can't just let you sit around and destroy our life's work."

He sounded so artificial, reciting a mantra off by heart. He hadn't thought Witches were this human, this capable of emotion, and it probably showed on the shocked expression on his face.

And...she knew Heath? He had just left that morning. "He's looking for clues about Poppy," Hale looked away from her.

Aldra listened in to the banter and insults between Tristiana and Crimson. As much as he wanted to but in, he didn't see any point. Both of them were pratically at each others throats and it would be rid of two witches, but if this person, Poppy, was anything he heard, she would probably be the strongest threat of all the witches in this battle. In this case, it would be best to keep these two from killing each other.

Poppy...even in Germany, Aldra has heard some rumors about her. But they were all rumors and nothing is ever true unless it is proven. Still, Aldra was not intimidated by the thought of having to go up against this Nature Witch.

After the last insult from Tristiana, Aldra finally spoke up, saying in a stern voice. "What's done is done, we cannot change the past. So if you two are finished with your mudslinging, I would suggest we come up with a plan on how to solve this problem."

Aldra checked his watch, it was roughly 9 AM now (I'm assuming it's around that time) and the streets would start to get crowded very soon. For the best, it would be wise not to make a scene, attracting the wrong set of attention would be unwise if you're trying to evade a witch out to kill you.

"Oh shut up, you prattling old bastard," snapped Tristana to Aldra. "If I wanted your opinion, I'd give you a bone and ask you to bark."

Turning back to Heath, she sighed. "Heath, can you think of anywhere she'd be safe? I don't want Poppy getting any more powerful because of her stupid mistake. Find somewhere for her to lie low, then take me to the apartment for a tracking."

Looking to Crimson again. "Wherever he places you, shut up and stay there. If Poppy finds you, she'll torture you, desecrate you, annihilate you, do whatever it takes to get your name. And believe me, when she gets your name, you'll be her toy. So shut up and do what Knight Boy says."

Massaging her head as she stomped out her third cigarette, she turned to Heath for the last start. "I'll be waiting in my car when you're done here. The red one. It's parked across three parking spaces, so you can't miss it. Take too long and you're walking to the apartment. Got it?" Without waiting for an answer, Tristana strutted off, hoping to The Horned King that he wouldn't call her back and foist that stupid young witch on her.

[Actually Galmski, its around 4PM now. We started at noon, and one thing has led to another~]

Heath thought for a moment, "The Temple of the Grey Goddess, if she didn't use her powers...that place is crawling with Knights, at least some of them experienced. Garth thinks she's a contact of mine, so she'd probably be fine there. Poppy wouldn't dare storm the temple itself...at least, I don't think she would."

It was obvious what the problem with this plan was: Crimson was incapable of keeping her cool. She'd be revealed for a Witch in a matter of seconds. Still, it was the best plan Heath had - he didn't know the extent of Poppy's powers. She obviously had some means of tracking people...Nature was all around them, after all. Facing off against Poppy was like facing Mother Earth herself...although Heath had always hoped Mother Earth would be a gentler, more benevolent figure.

Heath watch Tristana stalk off, frowning. She had made it quite clear that she wanted nothing to do with Crimson, or the other two Knights...yet she deferred to him. That lifted his spirits a little, as inappropriate as it was. Still, taking joy where you could find it was hardly a crime. He turned back to the others, frowning.

"I won't force you to do anything you don't want to, Crimson. Its your call, but I think you'd better stay away from Tristana for now. Aldra," Heath turned to the German Knight, noting now with faint curiosity the massive war hammer he carried. A Knight of Earth, then? How much use would he be against Poppy? It was doubtful he would be much use at all...after all, roots disturbed would simply take root anew. Still, he would be able to keep Crimson under control. "you and I need to have a serious discussion at some point, but now is hardly the time. I'd appreciate it if you'd stay with Crimson, for now. I need to try and talk some sense into Tristana..." he grimaced at the thought. That wasn't going to be easy. Talking sense into Poppy might be an easier task than that. Still, at least Tristana wasn't going around murdering people...

Life’s work? Alyss thought. Mindlessly killing every Witch you find because some woman you do not even know tells you to? How pathetic. Not to mention that it sounded as if he was reciting something he read off the side of a Cracker Jack box for the millionth time… Alyss continued her glaring at the Knight in front of her. “Incorrect, some Witches are a danger to everything you have ‘worked’ for. I have done nothing wrong, and in fact I have gone out of my way to set things right. Any attempt to kill me because you want to go around doing your ‘life’s work’ and promote peace is hypocrisy. As far as I am concerned, any Knight that attempts to kill a Witch on basis of title alone is full of it. The same can be said for any Witch that attacks a Knight on basis of title alone.”

As if to prove her point, as much as she wanted to destroy the Knight in front of her, she refused to attack. If he chose to attack her, he would be attacking an unarmed wounded woman. There was no honor in that… if he was a Knight that valued his title at all, he wouldn’t attempt to harm her until she gave him reason. And as much as she wanted to tear his eyes from his scull… she wouldn’t give him the time of day to attack.

He had mentioned Poppy... it seemed as if no matter what Alyss did she was going to be forced to fight her again. But next time would be different; Alyss had a power and a half now. She was going to make Poppy pay for what she did. However, she wasn’t going to go alone, so she still needed to find him. It would do him good to know that Poppy didn’t kill Alyss or Lily. Poppy hadn’t grown stronger… even if Alyss lost against her, she still accomplished the mission.

Folding her arms (both of them still aching), Alyss gritted her teeth. “Take me to Heath. I have news for him that you would also like to hear… It is good news, of course… and without me, Poppy would currently be a much bigger problem than she is now.”

Crimson
Fire Witch

"No!!" She gasped looking at the man with utter shock on her face. "No! no, no, no, no, NO!!! You are not leaving me with that guy!! I hardly know him, he could be a rapist or...or he could try to kill me.. he is a knight who we hardly know!!" she was shaking her head as she looked up at Heath, she couldn't believe this guy!!

"So you're just going to do it again, you're going to split us up, get another witch killed by Poppy because you're too much of a pathetic bastard who's been whipped by who I assume is your lover, yes it's obvious!!" she snarled. "Look around you, you've got two witches on your side and three knights! If we went and found Poppy now she'd be helpless against us all!" Why was he trying to split them up all the time? She couldn't quite understand but it was making her blood boil, if he really wanted them all to be safe he'd stop splitting them up and having each witch plucked one by one by Poppy!

"You're an idiot... you really are an idiot." She wanted to cry, she didn't know why to be honest but she knew her eyes were swelling up and the waterworks were about to start if she didn't get out of there now.

"You know what? I am done with all of you, Witches do not work with knights and you just helped me understand why, you're all a bunch of morons!!! W-we are no longer allies!" She back stepped away from the group, bringing out her lighter, her eyes darted from one man to the other, she hated them all, they were all stupid.

"Do not follow me or I will kill you!" and with that she flicked the lighter on, blowing flames from it, flames that circled the men, she raised her arms and caused the fire to create a huge wall, they would not be able to follow her this way, or so she hoped.

Then....she ran. She ran and ran until she could not run any longer, she didn't bother looking back and as she ran she cried. She eventually found herself in an alleyway, she had no idea where exactly she was but it didn't matter, she just wanted to be left alone.

(ooc) Well now Crimson the drama queen has a reason to join Metal Witch ;))

"I don't know where he is!" snapped Hale, suddenly irritated at this girl, witch or no. "Do you not think I'd tell you if I did? He didn't tell us where he was going. He gave a vague idea. Said he was going to track down information on the Nature Witch. And something to do with a Blood Witch as well."

Hale ran his hand through his hair. "Look. I don't want to fight you. Mainly because you would hurt me, but you don't understand what that Nature Witch has done. She's killed a hell of a lot of people, tortured others, and she wants to find other Witches so that she can take their powers. Others like you."

Sitting down where Lily had been sitting a moment ago, he lowered his tone, as anyone could have been listening at that moment. "Not all Knights believe the Witches need to be exterminated. Some believe they need to be kept safe. Safe from the Nature Witch."

"Tch." A knife slit the soft flesh of a wrist open in a shallow cut, and blood spilled forth. A small spray trickled down the arms, bubbling and boiling into a hardened blanket that fell over and extinguished the wall of flames. Without the witch there to maintain them, the fire was easily put out.

Tristana sheathed her knife, pulling a sleeve over her bleeding wrist. "I swear I can't leave any of you alone for one second." Her eyebrows were furrowed with pure annoyance, and she glared at each of the Knights present in turn before relaying orders, like a military commander.

"You two. Track that brat down. Find her. Protect her. And if you see Poppy, hold her off. Die to protect that girl if you need to. Poppy with the power of fire under her command is not acceptable. Do you hear me?"

"And you!" She turned her heated glare on Heath, all deference to him earlier forgotten. "What did you not get about hurrying the fuck up? Do you need me to draw you a graph? Some kind of flow chart?! Get into the car, because I see a traffic warden coming and if I get slapped with a ticket because I parked over three spaces, you're paying!"

Finished once more, Tristana flounced off, pushing back the weakness from the use of her magic. It would heal in time. It always did.
