[RP] Desire

Alyss woke up to a faint pounding noise that she could hear from the inside of her apartment. She waited a little bit, as she was a bit groggy from her nap. However, it became increasingly apparent that no one was going to let whom ever it was in. Whoever it was must have really wanted in for the banging to be so loud that it could be heard from her room.

Rising out of bed rather slowly, she walked passed her computer and stepped into her living room. Deciding that there wasn't a reason for her shoes, she didn't put them on as she walked out of her apartment and left her door wide open. After all, she was only going to go open the front door, there wasn't any danger in leaving it open.

She wiped the sleep out of her eyes as she walked down the stairs. Being as tired as she was she didn't check to see who was at the front door as she opened it. "There is a doorbell, you know? Anyway..." She looked up and saw the rather angry looking face of Genevese, the woman whom she just sent an email to. "O-oh no...", she let slip as she immediately turned and ran. However, her socks prevented her from running on the tile floor and she paid the price by slipping and falling to the ground.

Alyss turned over on her back and propped herself up on her elbows as she looked again at the angry woman. "P-please listen, I can explain everything, I swear."

Nina heard the knob turn and she took a step back so she wouldn't get hit by the door. Standing within the apartment hall was a woman who looked around her age, but younger nonetheless. Her hair was dark red, and was a mess - as if she had just gotten up from sleeping. But that was when Nina realized that she had seen her before; in the restaurant. She remembered glancing at her for a slight second, seeing her toy around with her laptop. This was definitely the hacker.

"O-Oh no..." She had murmured as she saw Nina's face, which confirmed that she was the one the blonde was looking for. The second Nina took a step forward, the girl turned around and started to run, but to her dismay of wearing no shoes, she had tripped and fell on the ground; but she had put some distance between the two. Nina didn't give herself time to think about what to say or do, and she immediately grabbed a small flower pot that had sat at a table that was to her side, all the while the other girl looked at her with fright. "P-Please listen, I can explain everything, I swear."

Nina had started walking towards the girl swiftly, the pot still in her grasp hanging behind her head. "Start explaining now. Start talking now," Nina replied as she had finally stood over where the girl was laying. "Otherwise, your pretty little face will get smashed. Alright?!" The moment she said 'alright', Nina threw the flower pot down, smashing it right next to the girl's face, making the glass pot shatter into many sized pieces, some of them flying towards her skin. Lucky for her, the pot wasn't hurled directly at her. "I suggest you start explaining to me now," she knelt on top of the girl now so that there would be slight chance of escaping her, and Nina grabbed a handful of red hair and pulled it so that her sight wouldn't leave her own. When she spoke again, her tone was low yet had traces of disgust in it as well. "What's your purpose of deleting my work?" The girl's answer would determine her condition.

(OOC : Shit just got real.)

Alyss was scared, more scared than she had ever been in her life. Her heart was pounding, and she was trembling. The lady was obviously angry beyond any chance of being calmed. The lady had grabbed a flower pot, and Alyss' heart jumped into her throat. "Start explaining now, start talking now. Otherwise your pretty little face will get smashed. Alright?!"

Then, in an other obvious fit of anger, she threw the pot down and smashed it onto the floor. A few shards of it hit Alyss' leg, but due to how large her pants were, she didn't feel it. "I suggest you start explaining now". Before Alyss could say anything, the lady was on top of her, and grabbing her hair as she lifted her head back and upwards. She was now face to face with her, looking her dead in the eye. "What's your purpose of deleting my work?"

Alyss was now trembling twice as much before, and her heart was beating extremely fast. She was scared, vulnerable, and very panicked. "Oww, please, you have the wrong idea. I-I was not the one that deleted your data. I wanted to help you when I sent that email. Please, you must understand, let me go this instant." Alyss squirmed, desperately trying to escape, but she knew deep down she wouldn't be able to. The lady's grip on her hair was painful, almost bring her to the verge of tears. "I have done nothing wrong, please understand."

Robert Masters
Sublime Park

For the next twenty minutes, several preliminary matches went on. Some battles were down to the wire, while two other combatants, Lilly Hanna and Zachary Vincanti, won their battles with relative ease.

Robert finished drinking his bottle of water. According to the tournament chart, Lilly was his next opponent. Even as they went out of the tent to make their way to the ring, many people were talking about how Lilly would lose. It was typical sexism. Despite the fact that Lilly won her last fight in less than thirty seconds, people were siding with Robert, simply because he was the son of the world martial arts champion.

"Don't listen to them." Robert commented before he got into the ring. Lilly simply grinned as she jumped into the ring shortly after. "I never do." she replied.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the second round of this tournament will now begin. Lilly Hanna representing the Bankai Judo Dojo. Robert Masters representing the Wolfpack Jeet Kun Do Dojo. Fighters front. And begin!" the referee called out.

Robert and Lilly began attacking each other with speed and precision. In terms of skill, they seemed equal. Lilly was more agile, but Robert was able to read her moves and reacted quickly enough to counter her, his blows striking harder than hers.

The match continued, with neither side gaining ground on the other. Robert's defense seemed to have all angles covered, only throwing attacks when he saw an opening, but Lilly quickly covered her openings.

Finally, each one managed to land a strike on each other at the same time. Robert struck Lilly with a roundhouse to the head, while Lilly nailed Robert in the side with a spinning kick. Both fighters jumped back to either end of the ring and smiled at each other, getting ready to continue the fight.

Thoma Leonhardt
Shopping District

Thoma entered the Wild Duck Burger, the spot where he was to meet his date, a young lady named Lola. He was about twenty minutes early, which was fine by him. It was better to be early than late for meeting such a lovely woman. Of course to him, every woman had at least one form of beauty or another, and it didn't have to be physical beauty.

He was known for always complimenting women on anything that stood out in his mind about them. Only the vain and selfish women were the ones he would give the cold shoulder to. Most took his compliments well, some turned into fangirls, and others acted like he was a pervert. However, it didn't matter to him. For him, it was his duty as a gentleman to address a woman's beauty.

Thoma sat down at an empty table and relaxed. It's be a while before Lola showed up, so he had time to kill, going over in his mind how he would approach this date.

"Oww, please, you have the wrong idea. I-I was not the one that deleted your data. I wanted to help you when I sent that email. Please, you must understand, let me go this instant." Nina felt the girl squirm underneath her, and she used most of her weight to hold her down - not that it needed much effort, since it looked like the girl weighed less than she did. Her grip on her hair hadn't loosened in the slightest when she noticed the wince of pain. "I have done nothing wrong, please understand."

"Oh, I understand," Nina replied. She was glaring daggers in the other girl's green eyes, which seemed like an endless abyss of fear this very moment. "I understand that you are terrible at lying." Without waiting for a response or denial, her right hand had balled itself into a fist, and instantly hit across the girl's face. "Not only have you been sneaking around in my email, but you proved it just now by panicking when you saw my face; You knew why I came here." She pushed her head to the side while letting go of the grip on her hair at the same time. Keeping the girl in sight, Nina reached into her pocket and took out yet another Camel Light cigarette and placed it in her mouth.Then reaching into her back pocket, she pulled out the lighter and lit it up, inhaling the smoke and letting it flow within her for a few brief seconds before putting the lighter up and blowing the smoke into the girl's face. It was a shame the cigarette couldn't be relied on to calm her down.

"Now, if this were about some silly text message or an instant message, I could let this pass. But unfortunately," Nina took the cigarette out of her mouth and held it between two fingers, gradually lowering it down until the burning end of it was about an inch away from the girl's neck. She had gotten burns before from her own sticks, and the feeling wasn't joyful at all. "You've messed with business, and I've figured out enough to know that it was you. But just keep on telling me it wasn't - keep denying it, and I'll think of more ways to force the truth out of you."

[Nikolas-Shopping District]

This girl was a strange one, even more so than Karel with his flowers. Most people would have more...vehement with their response. And their response wouldn't be to agree with him. The minute she mentioned a higher power it all clicked: this girl was some sort of religious fanatic; the robes were assurance.

"So you say there's gonna be a crisis? Natural disasters pale in comparison? So whatsit gonna be? Someone presses a button and nuclear warheads are fired at us? Or maybe Russia? And then there's that mutually assured destruction they always bitched about back in school. So that's how the world ends? At least it'll be in a fiery blaze.

"Unless you're telling me it's not gonna be of this world?" he sneered. "Really? A higher power? IF there is one, he's as greedy and selfish as humans. I've seen him deny mercy to enough people to prove that or his nonexistence."

"Humans will continue on. We always have somehow."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

[Karel- Sublime Park]

He stood there watching as more combatants came in and had their matches. There he stood, holding a bag full of gardening implements and a bundle of flowers in his arm. Not the best thing for a spectator at a match.

Still, he was reminded of Nikolas. But his brother was driven by money; martial arts by honor and discipline. Karel wasn't that able to fight but he couldn't help but want to be able to defend himself.

His thoughts drifted to the gun he had hidden. Nikolas had promised that he wouldn't involve him in anything but it seemed that it would find him eventually.

This match seemed to be going on for some time though, both combatants evenly matched.

"Oh, I understand." Genevese had said. Alyss was relieved to hear it, and for a second she had stopped trembling. It seemed as if she could relax and explain everything. "I understand that you are terrible at lying." Then without a warning, or any kind of hint whatsoever, a balled up fist had smacked Alyss across the face. Letting out a sharp cry of pain, as well as a few tears, Alyss started trembling all over again as Genevese continued.

"Not only have you been sneaking around in my email, but you proved it just now by panicking when you saw my face; you knew why I came here." She loosened the grip on Alyss' hair as she reached in her back pocket and took out a cigarette and a lighter. Alyss watched in horror as she lit it and blew the smoke in her face. She turned her head to the side and coughed as the smoke made it harder and harder to breathe.

"Now, if this was some silly text message or an instant message, I
could let this pass. But unfortunately," there was a slight pause as she lifted the cigarette from her mouth, and placed it an inch away from Alyss' face.
"You've messed with business, and I've figured out enough to know that it was you.
But just keep on telling me that it wasn't - keep denying it, and I'll think of more ways to force it out of you."

Who is this madwoman, thought Alyss. She didn't know what to do. If she told the woman a lie and said that she was the one who hacked her email, there was nothing that would stop her. In all reality, she would probably keep going. If she told the truth and said that it wasn't her, it was confirmed that she would continue. It was a lose/lose situation, and there was nothing Alyss could do about it.

She was trying not to, but being as scared as she was she couldn't help it. Alyss had started crying out of fear, but still tried to tell her the truth. "I-I only reacted that way because I saw that you were angry. I do not mean any offense, but it startled me, and I now know that I had proper reason to be scared."

She paused for just a second to swallow some of her fears, "Your email was hacked through unconventional means. The IP address it was hacked from cannot exist, and the way it was hacked simply cannot be done. The file sent was edited in route to the recipient. That is impossible. I am incapable of doing that, as is anyone else I know." She dared turn face to face with Genevese again in between sobs, "and if I were the one to hack it, I would not have been stupid enough to send an email to help when I could have gotten away with it completely unnoticed by never saying a word!"

Squirming a little more in futility, Alyss' elbows were starting to hurt from her propping herself up on the tile floor. Turning her head back to the side, she continued, "Miss Genevese was it? Please, just leave me be, it was a mistake to contact you. I do not wish to help anymore if being beaten is my reward."
She hoped that would be enough for her to see the light. Alyss could feel the heat from that cigarette, and she really didn't want it touching her skin.

Nina watched as the girl started to sob underneath her. Clearly this girl was too weak to defend herself, but she should have remembered that when she got herself into something that was none of her business. "I-I only reacted that way because I saw that you were angry. I do not mean any offense, but it startled me, and I now know that I had proper reason to be scared." Well, Nina would be scared too if she had deleted some vital information that belonged to someone else only to be visited by that person not too long after. But unlike this girl, she would confess then and there. Honesty was really the best policy, but some people didn't understand that - in this case, the redhead. "Your email was hacked through unconventional means. The IP address it was hacked from cannot exist, and the way it was hacked simply cannot be done. The file sent was edited in route to the recipient. That is impossible. I am incapable of doing that, as is anyone else I know." She turned her head to face Nina, her face stained with tears, but Nina held her cigarette in it's place. "and if I were the one to hack it, I would not have been stupid enough to send an email to help when I could have gotten away with it completely unnoticed by never saying a word!"

Once again, the girl squirmed underneath her, but Nina pinned her still with her own weight.
"Miss Genevese was it? Please, just leave me be, it was a mistake to contact you. I do not wish to help anymore if being beaten is my reward."

Nina exhaled irritation. This was starting to become pitiful to deal with. Aside from trying to move away from her, not only was she not fighting her back, but she was still in denial. Without a second thought, Nina brought down the end of the cigarette so that it was in contact with the girl's skin, pushing it down possibly rough enough to leave a mark as she dragged it down slowly. "Yet I do wonder what gave you the right to sneak onto my account," Then Nina remembered the several last words the girl stated. "And you know my name? You're really interested in me aren't you?"

Nina lifted the end of the cigarette way from the girl's neck. Indeed it had left a burn, seeing that area of the neck was nearly as read as the girl's hair, mixed with some lines of black from the ash. Though something told Nina that this girl wasn't going to fess up. Looking up for a second, she noticed that there was another door that was wide open that seemed to have led to another room. She could only guess that it lead to the girl's apartment, and she suddenly had an idea to get the girl to spill some information. The look of irritation must have still been clear on her face, but she felt a small smirk form on her lips as she looked back down at the girl. She brought one of her arms up and towards the opposite and suddenly back lashed at the red head, immediately getting off of her after the action was taken. "I'll teach you not to mess with me. . ."

Swiftly walking through the door ahead, she had went into the girl's apartment - just like the girl had invaded in her computer. Nina was sure that the girl was probably too hurt to try and chase her, but whether she did or not, it wasn't going to slow her down. She entered into the room that she suspected was the bedroom, and immediately caught eye on what she was looking for. Grabbing the object with her hand, she had began to walk back to the room that she was originally in, holding the object with one hand, as if it were a platter.

"If you truly value this, I suggest you tell me what I want to hear." Resting on top of Nina's palm was the girl's laptop - the same one that she had used earlier in Wild Duck, and she could only wonder how much valuable information was saved onto it. But this very moment, Nina didn't really care; but she was hoping to get some kind of reaction from the girl she was staring daggers at.

Feeling somewhat more assured by the tone the woman was taking with him, Nero lapsed into a slightly more relaxed state. "Oh. I'm Nero. Nero Hale. My mum sent me out here to...run a few errands for her."

He didn't exactly want to go into detail on the "errands" in question. Especially since he didn't know all that much compared to Caroline herself.

"I guess when that guy ran into you, I wanted to check if you were OK." He shrugged. "I guess you have to take care of yourself in a town as big as this, but still. That guy was an ass." Did he sound weird? Either way, the conversation had started.

Isis chuckled lightly, tilting her head to one side again. "No, sir. Nothing of that variety. Nuclear warheads are quick and painless, and they do not differentiate between the strong and the weak. They vaporise regardless of our physical status."

And now he spoke of God as a person who did not distribute mercy, hmm? Of course, that was the timeless argument of the non believer, and now was not the time to simply ask why, when or how.

"So then, if you do not believe in a higher power. Do you believe in a lower one? Haven't you ever heard stories? Stories of demons and changelings and a brutal Hell? Do you think they are real?"

"No. i am just a humble devout, like yourself." The man gave a small smile. "My name is David Remoria, and I am here to give thanks to God for the glorious revelations he is about to give us." Without another word, he turned and kneeled in front of a large mural of the Virgin Mary, muttering quietly to himself.

The cigarette came down with no warning whatsoever. The pain of it caused Alyss to scream in a fashion she had never done before. The echo of it rang throughout the lobby, and for a brief few seconds, Alyss was unaware that it was herself that was screaming. She heard Genevese say something, but she couldn't hear her over the sounds of her own screams. Then suddenly, the cigarette was gone as quickly as it had been pressed to her neck. Alyss cried out in more pain as she grabbed at her neck, crying harder than before.

As Alyss laid on the ground with her hands clutching her neck, the woman infront of her back handed her across the cheek. Another scream escaped Alyss' mouth as the woman got off of her and went up stairs. "I'll teach you to mess with me...", Genevese said in a low tone. What could she be doing, Alyss thought. This is not fair, I only wanted to help. Why is she doing this to me? Just as Alyss couldn't stop the pain, she also couldn't stop the tears. Her glasses were now coated with tears.

She barely managed to roll over on her stomach, she wasn't even sure that moving was such a good idea. Alyss had often read that animals played dead and didn't move when threatened. Perhaps when Genevese returned, if she saw that Alyss had moved, it would only infuriate her more.

Still, she had to at least try to explain things one last time... Alyss got onto her knees and sat on her feet. She then took off her glasses and cleaned them off as Genevese returned from Alyss' apartment. Putting back on her glasses, her eyes widened with terror when she saw what Genevese was holding in her hands. "P-Please, no..."

"If you truly value this, I suggest you tell me what I want to hear."

The words rang through Alyss' head like a gunshot in an empty alleyway. Alyss looked down at the ground, beaten, defeated, and saddened. "You must understand," Alyss gasped in between sobs, "I did not have anything to do with it. I only wanted to help you catch the one that did. Another hacker that has those kind of skills is a direct threat to me as well as you."

Alyss looked up at Genevese, her eyes filled with tears, "I am sorry. I should have used more conventional methods. I am sorry, please, you must believe me... you must..."

Nina had disregarded anything the girl said at this point. She had opened up the case so that it would bring her into the login screen, and she was slightly puzzled by what she saw - yet it amused her at the same time.

"You have to enter six passwords to login? You, ma'am, are extremely wary about what's in here. . .but what made you think I wasn't about my own?" Nina glanced over at one of the tables where a small fish bowl had sat. Oddly, there weren't any fish - but there was water, artificial sand, and the silly manikins that came with it. Chuckling to herself, she sat the laptop down on the tile floor, stepping over it with one of her boots as she walked over to the fish bowl, staring at the small ripples that formed at random times. "As you may be able to tell by now, I'm quite a revengeful person," Nina paused so that she picked up the bowl with both hands, double checking to see if there were any hidden fish in it before glancing back at the laptop. "If someone does something to me that I disapprove of in secret, whether they confess or not, I will get back at them. But,"

Nina paused, and glanced back at the girl who managed to get onto her knees while she was away. She looked more broken down than anything. "I would have had more respect for them if they'd just told the truth the moment I approached them about it, instead of trying to make a cover for themselves and constantly claim that 'I don't understand'. I don't understand? I have enough proof to know that I in fact, DO understand." The moment she had said 'do' in a bold tone, Nina took one of the scuba diver manikins out of the fish bowl and hurled it at the girl, her currently condition irrelevant to her. After that, she had walked back over to where the laptop sat wide open, and placed her free hand on her hip, her gaze anything but merciful. "But you should be aware of what people say these days,"

Without hesitating, or thinking, she had turned the fish bowl over so that everything in it fell onto the laptop. The moment the liquid hit the keys and crevices of the laptop, Nina watched as it sparked several times and made a snap sound. Black and gray fumes began to form all around it, and Nina smirked. Predicting that the girl would be devastated, she had walked over to where she was kneeling and lowered her upper body down so that she could grasp the girl by the chin and tilt her head so that she could look up at her once more.

"An eye for an eye."

She let go of the chin of the girl before giving her a quick fake smile. Within seconds, Nina's fist hurled down for one more hit as it bashed against the redhead's skull.

Alyss didn't dare look up at Genevese as she spoke. She didn't look up as she grabbed the fish bowl, and she didn't look up even when she threw the plastic decoration at her. She felt the pain of it, but she was too afraid to flinch, too afraid to do anything. She heard every word the woman said, and she burst out in tears as Genevese dumped water out onto the laptop, ruining it forever.

Alyss simply sat there, crying her eyes out over how cruel the woman in front of her was. All Alyss had wanted to do was help, she entered the situation with the best of intentions. Why couldn't the woman see that? Why did she have to be so cruel. Emotions and thoughts ran through Alyss' head like subway trains in the New York Underground.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed Alyss by the chin, and forced her to look up at her the woman that was enjoying torturing her. "An eye for an eye," she said. Her voice was cold and distant, and the effect of it was all the more amplified at how Alyss felt as her head came crashing down after Genevese hit her head towards the ground.

The sound of her head against the ground sounded like someone dropping a bowling ball on the ground. Alyss was sure that her glasses broke in half, but she couldn't make a sound. She didn't dare make the slightest noise. With everything that had happened today, Alyss couldn't do anything anymore. She simply laid there, crying, with her face against the ground as her body started quaking. She was in shock, her body and her mind no longer able to cooperate together.

Before she knew it, she was out cold.

OOC: Talk about Disproportionate Retribution, Raye. :O

Then again, I'm not that much of a vengeful person so...

"No. i am just a humble devout, like yourself. My name is David Remoria, and I am here to give thanks to God for the glorious revelations he is about to give us."

Lucia was surprised that she had found someone so devoted to the church. Lucia smiled, "Oh no, I could never be as devout as you are, but thank you for the compliment David. My name is Lucia Ramirez."

Turning back to the altar, and finding David kneeling beside her, she went back to the prayer, saying the words to a prayer her mother used to say. "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen"

Firmly pulling on the glass door that was home to stickers proclaiming various deals on food and drink, Thomas was finally at Wild Duck Burger. It was tranquil inside, the chatter from a few tables that were filled in the restaurant added a homely aesthetic to the environment without becoming too overbearing.

There was a free booth by a window that had a nice view of the surrounding area so Thomas decided to seat himself there while waiting to order his food. Plopping down into his seat, Thomas looked around to notice that a waitress had just gotten around to him. She looked fairly young; her slightly tanned complexion had a delightful aura to it that Thomas found incredibly attractive. But the way she gently brushed a lock of hair away from her soft face combined with a warm smile and deep almond brown eyes was even better.

“Welcome to Wild Duck Burger may I take your order sir?”

Snapping back into reality, Thomas looked up and returned a delightful grin.

“May I have a Wild Duck Burger with bacon please? Oh, and a chocolate milkshake as well thanks!”

“Good choice, the milkshakes here are my favorite!”

“Looks like I made an ace call then!”

The two shared a quick laugh amongst themselves, away from the homely commotion of the restaurant.

“Your order will be ready shortly. By the way, my name is Kezia.”

The waitress shot Thomas one more glance before returning to her work, busily helping a new customer that had just arrived.

“Kezia huh? What a wonderful name….”

Thomas became absorbed in thought, just in his own little world.

Nina watched, unamused, as the girl had shuddered a bit on the floor before her body came to a stand still. Her glasses had broken and there were tears on the floor around where her head was. Though she may have not gotten the answer she had hoped for, she had taught this girl well enough. She glanced back at the drenched computer and walked over to where it still sizzled slightly and walked to where the stairs began. She won't be needing this anymore. She thought. Nina had then picked up the broken down laptop and managed to throw it up the stairs, hearing it clash against whatever it hit. "Oh well. It was broken anyway."

Her attention went back to the girl, who's position had changed from when Nina last glanced at her. One of her hands moved onto her hips as she had scoffed a bit at the sight she was seeing. "I know you're not dead. But I learned today that you're hard of hearing." Nina's voice echoed through the halls, and there was no response in return to what she said. She frowned as she approached the girl and knelt down to where she was laying. Using her hands to flip her over on her back, she placed a hand over the area on her chest where her heart was located, and pushed down to feel for a beat. Her heart was still beating, but rather slowly, so Nina had apparently knocked the girl unconscious.

"Well, I'm not done with you just yet." Nina said, despite that the redhead couldn't hear her. She moved one of her arms underneath the girl's back so that she would sit up, and was about to prop the other up until something alarming suddenly went through her head, or possibly echoed in the lobby.

You've seriously outdone yourself this time.

The voice had startled Nina, and she looked around the room quickly to see if anyone was around that might have possibly witnessed what had happened. "Who's there?!" Nina called out. Everything was quiet again, and she rose a brow in response. Had she been hearing things? The voice had sounded real though, but it must have been in her head. It must have been from how riled up she was feeling about this whole day. She was tired and aggravated, and she wanted to put an end to this mess quickly.

Going back to what she was originally doing, Nina put one arm underneath the girl's back and another underneath her legs, and had lifted her up as she got back up on her knees. She was ridiculously light - no wonder she got beat down so easily. She was slightly surprised she wasn't bleeding anywhere. Nina still had some business to care of with her, and even if she didn't, she couldn't just leave her body in the lobby for people to see later on. Nina was surprised nobody had came out to see what the noise was about, since both of the girls were rather loud. She had no choice but to take her home with her. Stepping outside the apartment lobby, she looked around once more to make sure that there wasn't anyone around that could be suspicious of what she was doing, and had then began walking back to her condo with the girl unmoving in her hold.

The room was white, and from what it looked like, there was no end to it. There were no colors, or any kind of decoration to speak of. Alyss looked around, and saw nothing. "Hello?", she asked out loud. Just as she expected, she got no answer. With nothing else to do, Alyss kept walking. With no real direction in mind, she picked up her feet and just started going in one direction until she ran into something.

If she ran into something.

Thinking back, Alyss wasn't very sure how she got here. She remembered a scary woman that was doing awful things to her. Instantly, her hand shot to her neck to check for that burn the woman gave her with a cigarette. As suspected, it was there. However, it didn't hurt... nothing hurt.

"I must be dreaming," Alyss said to herself. It made the most logical sense. After all, she did just get hit hard on the head. In fact, the blow to the head hit so hard it forced her head into the ground. She was lucky to be dreaming at all. "In fact, I am lucky to be alive."

It felt as if she had been walking for a mile, but she eventually saw something. There was a single black round table, contrasting perfectly with the white that was all around. For the black table were two black chairs. However, the thing that startled Alyss most was the fact that someone was sitting in the other one. It was a girl, a small one at that, even smaller than Alyss.

She had very long pink hair, and pink eyes. Her clothes looked as if they came from royalty. She looked very elegant, and for some reason, she looked rather angry.

"Sit down, Alyss", the said rather sternly. Alyss, not wanting to anger anyone for the second time today, did just that. She pulled out a chair and sat down in it. Just as she did so, she noticed a black cup of tea waiting there that she didn't see before. "May I?", asked Alyss. "By all means. Though, truth be told you really shouldn't need permission to drink a cup of tea."

As Alyss took a few sips of the hot tea, the girl continued. "To think I'll be getting stuck with you... how pathetic." Alyss looked at the girl with a rather blank stare. "My apologies, I do not know what you mean."

"It's that," the girl answered. "You're a doormat, for heavens sake. I've never met someone without a backbone before. Do tell me, how does that feel?"

"I am afraid I still do not understand."

"You let that woman walk all over you. Did you even try to defend yourself? No. You did nothing, you tried to talk your way out of it, even when she burned you with a lit cigarette, you continued to talk out of your ass as she continued to hurt you."

How vulgar, Alyss thought. "Well, I was afraid. I am not exactly strong, you see..."

"Excuses, you're just hiding behind them because you're afraid to admit just how much you enjoyed it."

"I-I... That is impossible. I was just beaten within an inch of my life. There is no way anyone could have enjoyed that."

"You're rather annoying, you know that right? Even now, in your head, you're making up excuses for this woman."

"Well, it is not all her fault. She does not know the entire situation, and she has jumped to a logical con-"

"See? Excuses. Shut up and drink your tea."

Alyss wanted to retort, she really did. However, she did as she was told as she noticed the girl in front of her simply smiled and laughed. "Submissive to a fault," she declared. "Let's make a bet, shall we?"

"What kind of bet?", Alyss asked, somewhat blushing at the accusation. "The bet is simplistic, even you will understand it. If you can convince that woman of your innocence and stand up for yourself without any outside interference, I won't hurt you when the time comes."

Alyss was rather confused. "What kind of bet is that? What time? I do not understand."

"It's a simple yes or no question. Do you accept the bet or not?"

"Fine, very well. After all, it is nothing but a dream. I accept."

The girl smiled, "very well. I suppose I'll see you on the other side when the time comes."

Both Alyss and the girl sat at the table, as they drank their tea in silence.

Using one of her hands to twist the door knob open, Nina stepped through, girl still in her hands, and shut the door behind her. She locked it from the inside and glanced down briefly at the redhead, noticing that she had groaned a little once the door shut. She would have to be restrained somehow, even with the doors and windows locked up, since she probably would regain her senses soon. Glancing over at one of the shelves in the living room, Nina remembered there being a pair of handcuffs inside the top shelf and how a friend of hers taught her how to use them a year ago; it looked like she would have to use those.

Moving around the table that she had used earlier to eat her food, she sat the unconscious girl on the black leather couch before pulling the drawer open and picking up the silver pair of handcuffs. They had only been used once, for a night she'd rather not remember anymore, and they still looked new and usable. Turning her attention back to the girl, got on on the couch to where she was facing her back and pulled both of her arms behind her so that her hands would be close enough together. Her wrists were rather tiny, so she would have to tighten the cuffs enough so her hands couldn't slip out; so Nina did so diligently, closing the handcuffs around the girl's wrists. They weren't tight enough to prevent blood flow but they were tight enough to keep her hands trapped.

This girl has to have a name or an ID somewhere on her. Nina just thought. Whether if it was hidden or in her pockets somewhere, she'd have to do a body check - not just for an ID, but for anything that could be suspicious. Nina started with patting all around the girl's clothing, checking to see if she could feel anything other than skin beneath the fabric. She had discovered though that there were deep pockets above the hem of her. . . pants? Nina could have sworn that this was a skirt, but since it wasn't, she reached into both pockets in search of any object. Nothing. The next place Nina decided to check was the girl's shirt. She was aware of some sneak ways that women hid items they didn't want anyone to see. She began to unbutton the girl's shirt, only to discover that she was also wearing an undershirt. Nina wondered if she ever got hot outside from wearing this attire. Nonetheless, she checked the inside of her blouse for pockets or anything, but this shirt didn't have the in-case-of-emergency little pockets that some of her own had.

Nina had no choice but to look further. Somewhat glad that the girl was unconscious, she reached one hand underneath the girl's undershirt and around her bra to continue her investigation. She couldn't feel anything out of the ordinary - no card, no pocket knife, not even a cellphone on her person. It was somewhat disappointing to Nina to find out that this girl had nothing on her to protect or identify herself. She would have to wait till she woke up to interrogate her. As Nina pulled her shirt back down, her cell phone began ringing behind her, and when she checked the screen behind it, she read that she had 4 missed calls, all from her boss, including the call she was getting now. Perfect timing. She thought as she pressed the answer button, as well as the speakerphone button.

"Hello, Mr. Devon."

{Nina? Where have you been? I've been trying to reach you for the past half hour!}

"Sorry. I forgot my cellphone when I left the house. I had business to take care of."

{Well what on earth were you doing that was so important that you forgot your cell?}

Nina had taken a seat on a chair that sat across from the couch and rested one leg over the other. "Tracking down my hacker." She replied curtly. There was a slight static noise that went over the line for a brief second.

{Well, was your theory correct? Did you find out who did it and where they are?}

Nina glanced up from her lap to the handcuffed girl. "She's right...here."

Alyss was sipping her tea when she started to feel… odd. Something was incredibly wrong, but she couldn’t make out what was going on. The girl sitting across from her simply looked at her. “Looks like you’ll be leaving now,” she said to her. Alyss’ heart was racing, though not in a way that could necessarily be seen as “bad”. Before Alyss could say anything, the girl smiled and continued, “I’ll see you in due time. Do take care of yourself; I’ve got enough to clean up without you being broken.”

Suddenly, the world of white around her was crumbling. It was almost as if time itself was ripping open. Alyss knew it was just a dream, but it was ever so vivid. She could have sworn that it was real. Alyss could feel someone touching her. They were touching her in places that she had never been touched before. Gentle hands felt as if they were moving up and down her legs, and then there was a pause… Then just as simply as it stopped, the touching started again. They were moving around her breasts, feeling, almost light grabbing, as if someone was looking for something.

Whatever it was, Alyss couldn’t stay asleep any longer. Her eyes shot upon as she woke herself up with her own moaning. The first thing she saw was Genevese’s face, and Alyss found herself rather embarrassed. She tried to move her arms, but they were restrained behind her. Unable to do much else, she looked down. What she saw made her shiver in absolute embarrassment; her shirt was wide open, revealing her undershirt.

What did she do to me? Alyss thought. She didn’t know what she was feeling. Was it embarrassment? Was it shame? No. Whatever it was, Alyss had never felt it before, and she couldn’t differentiate it from good or bad.

Looking back up, Alyss could see that Genevese was on the phone. Unbeknownst to Alyss, her face was red due to her blushing as she looked Genevese in the eyes. She didn’t know who she was talking to, or about what. Alyss wanted to say something, but she also didn’t want to be rude about it. With her arms bound behind her and nowhere to go, she simply sat there, quiet and unmoving.

{Wait...it's a girl? And she's in your house?} Mr. Devon's puzzled voice echoed through the living room. Nina blinked while she was staring at the girl to notice that her head had shifted, and then her eyes had quickly opened so that the gaze had returned for a second - despite having no glasses to improve her vision. Nina felt a small smirk form on her lips as the girl had just started to notice what kind of position she was in, and had completely ignored her boss' questions.

"So you're awake now." Nina had said to her, loudly enough for her boss to hear.

{Awake? Had she been sleeping?}

"She was unconscious." Nina replied. She got off the couch for a brief second to grab a water bottle from the fridge. Turning the cap, she took a few swallows as she headed back to where she originally sat. She felt like she was getting a little hot, especially around the upper leg area. It must have been from all the walking and moving that she was doing, and the fact that her jeans were black had emphasized the heat that pointed down on her.

{Unconscious? How did that happen to her?}

"Now, as much as I am glad that you called, Mr. Devon, I was kinda hoping that you called so that you could ask her the questions, not me. I've already told you how I knew it was her all along."

{Wait a minute - can she hear me? Hello? Are you there, er - ma'am? Is she still there, Nina?}

"Oh, she should hear you. You're on speakerphone now and she's just staring at me, really." Nina's expression was blank at this point. If she couldn't get this girl to tell her what was needed to be told, maybe she would with her boss - the one that noted first that her mythology paper had parts missing. Just maybe.

{Well, I at least need to know her name first before this conversation continues...what is your name?}

Nina slightly slouched on her chair to the side and placed her elbow on the armrest so that she could rest her cheek on her hand. Eying the girl once more, both of her eyebrows rose as she waved a hand, hinting that she shouldn't keep her boss waiting.

“M-my name is Alyss, Alyss Aidan, Sir." Alyss, was it? It was about time that Nina figured out who this girl was. There weren't many of those in this city, however the name was spelled. "Please, if it is money you want, I can manage that. I do not want to be hurt anymore, I just want to go home and try to salvage my laptop. I did not mean any harm, truly I did not. I only wanted to help, that was all, I swear. Please, do not hurt me,”

{Hurt you?} Mr. Devon had asked in the middle of her statement. Nina only sighed in exasperation from the redhead's pleas. Money didn't matter to her at all this very moment, she just wanted her report fixed. As for punishment for hacking it in the first place, Nina felt that she gave Alyss enough of that; but she wasn't exactly sure why. Her gaze had stayed on Alyss though as she sounded as if she was on the brink of tears once more.

“My neck still burns, and my face is still numb. I do not have my glasses, so I cannot tell where I am if you are worried about me giving away your location…”

Nina said nothing in response to that. Somehow, she felt more tranquil than she had before. She was pretty sure that if the situation between the two girls had happened elsewhere, or if she had hit Alyss more than she had planned, she would have probably been dead. The image flashed in her head of that scene, thinking that it probably would have been the result if she had spoken anymore at that time. She was tired of hearing lies come out of this girl's mouth then, and she was tired of it now; but something about Nina felt. . .weaker. Had she worn herself out from tormenting the girl and then having to carry her weight all the way to her house? She was anything but heavy.

{Nina? You didn't...you went over to beat this girl?!} Mr. Devon asked, clearly shocked. {Are you not hearing how terrified she sounds right now?}

"Mr. Devon," Nina said. She really didn't want to get into this topic. "You know as well as I do that I take my work very seriously...if someone does anything to it, I give punishment that equals how big of a mess they've made."

{But you should know that violence is zero-tolerance in our work force! And you've made her unconscious too...you realize how much legal trouble you could get into for this?}

"And so can Alyss for engaging in hacking into someone's computer without any sort of discretion."
Nina replied. Her voice had risen just a little bit despite how tired she had suddenly felt, and although she had cooled down, some place on her leg was still burning.

{I tried to tell you earlier to not start making accusations just yet, but you cut me off. In reality, Nina, we really don't have enough proof that she was the hacker unless the evidence we were given matched what she showed you in that email.}

"You know what? Hold that thought for just a minute," Nina got up from the chair, rubbing the spot on her thigh that seemed to be burning. "I need to check something out right now." Nina had sat the cellphone on the table in front of Alyss before stealing a quick glance of her and leaving the living room and heading towards her bedroom. She could hear from the distance her boss continuing to talk.

{Alyss, I'm terribly sorry for whatever she's done to you. She's normally one of our best workers - and usually well behaved, really she is - but today, somethings have been troubling her it seems, and she's made it overtly clear. But I had no idea she'd go this far; but please explain your side of the story as comfortably as you can to me.}

Nina had shut the bedroom door behind her after she listened in to what Mr. Devon had to say last. Almost immediately, she had slipped out of her boots and taken her pants off while grabbing a pair of black shorts to let her legs breathe in. Glancing down at where her leg was burning, she noticed that it was the spot where the mysterious tattoo was placed. Nina rose a brow at that, but had then figured out that it must have been irritated from the rubbing of the denim against it. Well that was good news. Not only did this tattoo appear out of nowhere, but it was showing signs of infection, it seemed. Nina would probably have to use lotion on it to cool it off.

She had placed her pants on the bed before putting on the pair of shorts she grabbed, and as she looked down, she noticed something very alarming. Her eyes widened as she saw her tattoo...flashing. Something was entirely wrong. The design had glowed a golden color and flashed twice before it had stopped. Nina had noticed that at each flash, that spot had gotten much warmer - like it had while she was sitting on the chair. "What is wrong with me today?" She had thought out loud. Something was telling her that she wasn't going crazy this time.
