[RP] Desire

For Lucia, who woke up to the sounds of explosions and earthquakes that rattled the ground, she was afraid of what's going on. Looking out the window, she saw the very ground split open like a peanut, yet the city they were living in wasn't near any fault lines, how could this have happened? What made it worse was that now there were these dark, evil creatures prowling around the streets.

The first thing she did was recite a quick prayer, hoping that she would be safe in the coming storm that was to happen. But even then, she would need to protect herself. Opening the closet, she took the bow that she found in the studio as well as a quiver of arrows that she had around the house. Lucia tried to leave through the front door but the roof collapsed in the kitchen preventing her escape through there. She would have to go through the back.

Lucia went around the back and quickly left the house. The only thing to do now was to escape this fiery hell-hole, but first things first, she needed to find survivors. The church is probably the best place to find survivors, so Lucia began running to the church as fast as she could.

Nina was starting to regain her senses very slowly. It took her a few seconds before she could open her eyes, and notice that she wasn't in the living room anymore. She had a horribly hard time trying to remember what happened before ... whatever in the world just happened. Nina felt herself lying on a patch of grass, and she glanced around quickly, realizing that she at the edge of the forest behind her house. How she ended up here must have hit her hard, since the whole right side of her body was aching. But she wanted answers, so laying down wasn't going to get her any. Slowly, along with some shots of pain that jolted through her, she used her hands to push herself off her stomach and onto her lap. Looking around herself, she noticed that the scenery was completely distorted. Her house looked like it was the landmark of a war that just happened, and the sky was completely red and dark. Every window of her condo was shattered, and most of everything else was torn apart in some ugly way.

What the hell just happened here? She asked herself. The other question she still had in mind was what happened before all of this. Nina knew that she was in the house, but what was she doing? Her mind had drawn a complete blank, but she figured that going back in the house would give her some answers. Nina placed her hand on a tree to use as a ledge as she managed to get herself up on her legs. The pain wasn't pleasant in the slightest, and Nina closed her eyes as she leaned against the tree, waiting for her body to adjust to standing up once more. While she was unmoving, she heard the crackling of leaves, and the sound had gotten closer as a few seconds passed on.

Possibly with a look of puzzlement, Nina reopened her eyes to see what, or who, was approaching her. Who she saw standing in front of her was a woman with a tranquil look on her face, as if whatever chaos just happened hadn't effected her at all. Her hair matched in color with Nina's, was straightened with a few large waves put in it and reached towards her bottom, and soft pale yellow eyes were sizing up Nina before they sharply met her own. A smile had formed on the corner of the woman's mouth.

"So I finally get to see you in person. Not that we haven't made contact before." She said. What sounded like the earth breaking had been heard not too far from the block that Nina resided, and she felt a slight rumble in the ground. The noise must have been coming from the center that wasn't too far from here. By this time, Nina had completely recovered her senses, but was confused by what the woman said.

"I've never seen or talked you before in my life." Nina replied. She noticed that her scarf had been laying on the ground near where she stood, and she picked it up and brushed the dirt off before she put it back around her neck as the woman replied to her.

"Oh, but we have, dear." The woman replied, resting her elbow on her hand as she brought her index finger to her lips. "The people who reside here obviously admire your career, and if I were them, I probably would too. Only...I'm not. And your work is just a failure."

Nina blinked and raised a brow in response to that. She has faced harsh criticism before, but if this woman said that she wasn't from this city, how did she know about the reports Nina wrote, and how did she know where to find Nina? The woman must have acknowledged her confusion, and gave a light chuckle.

"Why do you think your work was constantly disappearing?" She asked as she slowly strode over to where Nina stood until they were probably three inches apart from each other. "I'm the hacker that you've been looking for..." For some reason, Nina was still clueless as to what she meant, but then the woman did something that wasn't expected of her. She took a finger and flicked at Nina's forehead, a small stab of pain occuring from it.

"...Don't you remember?"

Nina placed her palm on her forehead. Ironically, all the memories of today had come back to her, right after that little flick of the woman's finger. The hacker...is...Nina suddenly glanced back up at the woman, confusion suddenly replaced by rage. A hand reached out to grab her neck, yet the woman's expression didn't seem frightened at all.

"You bitch!" Nina shouted at her. She had forgotten all about the pain her body was in at this point; she probably didn't even acknowledge the bigger situation she was put in. "How dare you mess with my works!" Nina didn't even have to think to raise her other hand. It immediately formed a fist and aimed straight for the woman's face. But there was something terribly wrong.

Her hand had fazed through her. In fact, when Nina brought her hand back, it had went through her shoulder as it hung back to her side. Her other hand released the grasp on the woman's neck, complete surprise in her mind, and the woman had started to cackle mockingly at her.

"My sincerest apologies," The woman said, beginning to step away from Nina. "You must have mistaken me...for a human."
Her tone had somehow distorted itself mid-sentence, and within a blink of an eye, she suddenly disappeared.

"Huh?!" Nina said. She quickly walked over to the spot where the woman was standing and looked around the area in front of her. She had disappeared, but Nina wasn't finished with her. "I'm not through with you yet...don't you run away from me."

"Now why would I run away from you?" The voice replied back. It came from behind Nina, and she quickly turned around to face the woman. But what she saw instead was just...inhumane. It looked like the same woman...she had the same face, it had to be her, but her form was completely different and unexpected. She was laying across a high branch on the tree Nina leaned on, staring at Nina with now very sharp yellow eyes. The thing that startled Nina the most was the other half of the woman's body. It was a large tail of a serpent, and it was coiled around the tree branch while the end of it dangled loosely off the tree. Sharp nails tapped against her pale arm rhythmically as a smirk formed on her face. "You would not last two seconds in a battle with me. In fact, you wouldn't be alive. Be glad that I'm on your side."

"What...what are you?!" Nina asked the creature, taking a small step back. The woman's hand waved towards her, about to explain herself with the gesture.

"You may call me Lilura." She said, her voice distorted with a high pitch and a low pitch tone. "I am clearly not human like you may have thought. I live amongst my own kind, with other demons; but right now, most of them have turned a new leaf, and if you want to keep living, I suggest you let me help you in this matter."

Nina looked around the area once more, very much confused, and admittedly frightened, by what she was seeing. This thing, Lilura she addressed herself, is a demon? They shouldn't even exist. Nina had written more than enough about them to know that they're all myth and legend. So what was she seeing now? None of this could have been real.

"I told you that I would come for you, my liege." Those words were all too familiar. It was from the night she had that dream and discovered the out of nowhere tattoo on her thigh. "And I know exactly what you're thinking. And I'm also here to say that you're wrong. We do exist, and I am quiet offended by some of the propaganda you wrote on your stories about us. You're lucky that I'm here to assist you in this, otherwise, there's absolutelyno guarantee that you and your friend will survive through this." The 'friend' that Lilura mentioned to her must have been...Alyss. Nina could remember her too, and just realized that she hadn't seen her outside.

"Alyss?" Nina asked loudly. The girl must have still been inside of the condo. Who knew what condition she was in now, but Nina had to look for her, wherever she was. She turned back to Lilura, a scowl on her face. "Just stay away from me. There's no way... any of this could be real."

Lilura watched as Nina then turned around and walked quickly to one side of the house, stopping at a few spots to call out for her friend. Soon, she was out of sight from Lilura, but she could detect all of her thoughts and emotions. The poor girl was oblivious as to what was going on. She would be thanking Lilura later.

Foolish girl...you'll be begging on your knees for my help soon enough.

And with that, the demon vanished from the naked eye of reality.

Alyss’ head was pounding as she woke up. “Ow… what happened?” She asked. Alyss’ was lying on her stomach, and the first thing she noticed is that right next to her there was a rather large hole in the floor. She could easily see the room below through it. Continuing to look around, Alyss noticed broken windows, cracked walls, and many different types of furniture were tipped over. As she stood to get up, Alyss realized something… she couldn’t.

On her legs rested a rather large and rather uncomfortable bookcase. To make things worse, it appeared that it was full. Whatever knocked Alyss out also tipped the bookshelf over… on her. She tried to break free of it but immediately regretted it. She could feel her knee being strained and probably bruised. She winced at the pain as it brought a tear to her eye. She was going to have to wait until Miss Nina found here, where ever she was, before she could do something about it.

“You know, I remember telling you that you were pathetic.” Someone said from behind her. The bookshelf got heavier on Alyss’ knee, making it hurt even more. "Owww." Whoever it was was applying pressure to the bookshelf that pinned Alyss down. “Who are you? Please… That hurts, you know.” There was a slight laughter before the girl spoke up again. “So pathetic… Why do I get stuck with you?”

Alyss immediately remembered who it was, and it scared her more than anything. To make matters worse, with it sitting on the bookshelf and not being able to see her, it scared Alyss even more. “Y-you?!” Alyss exclaimed. “This has to be some sort of joke. Please, Miss Nina… Where are you?” Alyss started to panic as she continued to struggle against the bookshelf, only hurting herself more in the process. Yet, Alyss didn’t care… The way she saw it was that she was being verbally harassed by a figment of her own imagination. I must be dreaming, I must be dreaming. That is the only explanation.

"Ugh, this is sickening. Crying out to that woman like she's your savior or something. You do realize that you're stuck under here because of her right? You know, after she left you beaten and bruised?" What was this thing? Whatever it was, it was now jumping on the bookshelf, digging harder and harder into Alyss' knee. "I also recall telling you that I would punish you if you weren't able to solve things yourself... And that Mr. Devon character seemed to have helped quite a bit."

Every jump left Alyss in agony. She felt as if her knee was about to snap in half. "Please! Please stop!" Alyss still couldn't see the creature behind her, and at this point all she could think about was getting out from under the shelf. However, just trying to move her knee hurt her even more than the shelf itself. "What's wrong, dear Alyss? Need someone to help you? You're going to have to learn to be a little more self-reliant than that..."

It started jumping on the shelf even faster and harder, almost slamming her feet down upon the bookshelf at this point. Alyss was in tears as it started laughing from behind her.

"So. Damned. Pathetic. All that trash you often talked to others, with just how rude you are to just about everyone else, and now you're lying here crying because I'm hurting your poor little knee. And what's the only thing you can think about? Miss Nina coming to save you?! THE SAME WENCH THAT ULTIMATELY LED TO YOU BEING HERE?! You make me sick! Why do I have to get stuck with you? I can't stand you, I hate you, I LOATHE you. You're worthless, you're trash, and oh, guess what? No more computers now, they're all gone, bye-bye, now you're as useless as those "idiots" you once walked all over. Do you not see that irony in that?!"

With every word came a jump on the shelf that was harder and harder than the one before.

Alyss couldn't tell why she was crying anymore. Was it the sharp words of the thing currently berating her? Or was it the pain?

Thoma Leonhardt
Shopping District

"Ugh. Did anyone get the number of that truck?" Thoma half-heartedly jested as he regained consciousness and began looking around. His date was gone, and there were some people dead around the floor, along with a few monster corpses.

"Wow. What kind of cheap B-rated movie did I end up in?" he spoke as he rose to his feet. Suddenly, he felt a pair of slender arms wrap around his waist, and the the head of a woman appeared resting on his right shoulder.

"Just the kind that translates into reality handsome." the female replied with a spunky and upbeat kind of voice. "And if you're wondering what happened, just think on the definition of the word Ragnarök. Those demons killed a bunch of people here, and those demons were killed by me, your leading lady."

The kitsune demoness released one arm from around Thoma's waist and spun herself like a dancer to stand in front of him."Oh, and don't worry about your lady friend. She escaped, though who needs her when you have me?" she teased, winking at Thoma.

Thoma, for the first time in ages, was speechless. First, she was downright gorgeous. It was like someone dug into his private fantasies, mixed all of his fantasy women and created this beauty. But the next things that caught his attention was her tails and ears.

Finally, Thoma regained his composure. "My apologies. It seems I'm a bit sluggish at the moment. Normally I'd recognize such exquisite beauty within the first millisecond of gazing upon it. But I feel both bewitched by your beauty, curious about your tails and ears, and confused about just how the heck everything ended up like this in a matter of seconds."

The kitsune placed her finger upon his lips and moved close so that only an inch of space was between their lips. "You see, this is why I chose to serve you. You're one of the few real gentlemen in this world. And you were actually out for a good hour. But this ride is going to get wilder than your imagination can handle, both good and bad. So, my charming and handsome master, I suggest you stay by me. Not that you have a choice." she spoke before placing a finger on where his emerald bracelet used to be.

"By the way, I'm Lilliandra, princess of the kitsune people. But you can call me Lilly. Or simply call me all yours, whichever works better." she teased before giving him a quick kiss on the lips.

Thoma smiled coyly to his new 'companion'. She was just about as flirty as he was, though she was certainly more aggressive in her attitude towards what she desired, namely him. Trick or no, if this really was the end of the world, what better way to spend it than with a gorgeous female.

"A pleasure to meet you. I am Thoma, and I am honored to be served by such a radiant and royal beauty." Thoma spoke, giving a theatrical bow before looking over to the other humans that were still alive and just coming out of their mini-comas. "Now then, let's help these people to their feet and find someplace relatively safe. Not that there would be very many places that could be called that." he spoke as he removed a replica rapier from the wall and fastened it to his belt.

Nina thought she was hallucinating. That thing couldn't have been real. It could have been from the shock she was in from all of the destruction. Her house was torn apart, there was no possibly cheap way to repair it, and there probably wasn't anyone to help her out on this anyway. Walking to the front side of her house, she saw that there wasn't even a front door anymore. The door had been obliterated to large pieces across the lawn, and the knob had sat slanted on the pavement of the walkway. Frowning, Nina walked through the huge gap in the wall and saw that everything inside had been destroyed to.

Furniture was tipped and torn. There were cracks in the wall. Whatever was happening, it was utter chaos. Out of ideas, Nina pulled out her cell phone and opened to case to turn it on. Only it wasn't turning on, and it had been on full battery when she and Mr. Devon were talking earlier. Mr. Devon ... I wonder if he's still alive. She thought to herself. She had also walked over to the television set as well as the radio plugged into the wall. The electricity was gone, and the devices that relied on it were no longer working. Nina had suddenly heard shouting from above her. Very angry shouting, along with some heavy thumps, and they distracted her from her current task. She then began to faintly hear some pleading, and that's when she realized...

"Alyss!?" She shouted out. She looked up, and was surprised to see a huge hole in the ceiling above her, leading to the second floor of the condo. "I'm coming over there!" Nina said as she headed up the stairway. She wasn't exactly sure what she was hearing, but it didn't sound good. In fact, it sounded a lot similar to the situation that she caused with Alyss in her apartment. Angry yelling, suspicious noises, the pleading. Nina didn't recognize the voice of the other person, a female from what she could make out, but they had no business in her home. She reached the top of the stairs, and was shocked by what she saw.

Alyss was still in her house, as expected, but she was buried underneath a bookshelf that Nina had bought not too long ago. On top of the bookshelf was a girl - a little girl at that, and she was jumping continuously on the shelf, clearly hurting Alyss from the pressure she was forcing on her; her current position must have made it all the more worse. But who even was this girl? Nina hadn't seen her before either. Could it have been - No. Nina said to herself. There are no demons here. It's just a girl. One that was intruding her home, that was - as well as hurting Alyss. Nina quickly walked over to take action.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Nina asked her. She bent over to check on Alyss' condition. She had looked beaten, worse than how she looked after Nina gave her a beatdown herself, and she sobbing. Nina immediately stood up and glance at the pink haired girl. "Get off of there, right now." She demanded, proceeding to pick her up.

“Alyss!? I’m coming over there!” Alyss heard Miss Nina from below, all the while, the girl behind her continued to jump on the bookshelf further hurting Alyss. “Just as I thought,” the girl whispered, not caring if Alyss heard her or not. As Nina entered the room, the girl never once stopped jumping on the shelf. As she entered the room, she started speaking to the girl. “Hey, what do you think you’re doing?” She asked, checking on Alyss, no doubt witnessing the pathetic sight for herself. “Get off of there, right now.”

She went to grab her, but little did she know that Moh wasn’t having any of that. “Hands off, wench,” she exclaimed. Putting out her arm, she fired electricity from her finger tips, hitting Nina square in the chest. At that moment, Alyss felt something leaving her… It was odd, she felt more tired before, and the pain on her knee increased. It was as if when she fired the electricity from her hand that it drained Alyss.

“You’re not much better than she is. She’s pathetic, you’re just stupid. Beating her brains in when you have next to nothing to go on. Why do you even care what I do to her? She’s going to be nothing but trouble anyway. She’s a leach, a dirty, dirty, leach.” She continued jumping on the bookshelf as she said every word. “Oh, what’s wrong, Alyss? Not enjoying it? You were ever so fine with the wench over there tearing into you. What happened? What if I give you a scar on the other side of your neck to match the one you’re no doubt going to have on the other?! That should be fun!”

The demon girl jumped a couple more times on bookshelf. “Stupid girl, stupid, stupid, STUPID, girl, idiots like you would be better off killing themselves. You’re a waste of perfectly good air.”

Alyss was on the verge of passing out for what would be the third time today. “P-Please, forgive me. Stop it… it hurts so badly…”

"Hands off, wench." The girl said in retort. Something told Nina it would be a bit of a challenge getting this girl out of the house, but she's handled agitating kids before, she could deal with this one. But once Nina tried to reach for her again, the girl's arm reached towards her chest, and to her shock (OOC: No pun intended - - > ), lightning had struck her immediately from the girl's fingertips. Nina shouted out from the pain - it was like getting tased directly in the heart, and Nina was sure hers wanted to give out from what she was dealing with today. Hell, Alyss had it much worse than she did, and Nina was surprised the girl was still breathing. Falling over from the impact, Nina groaned aggravatingly from the pain, holding her chest where it had hit her. All the while, the girl was still hopping up and down on the bookshelf.

“You’re not much better than she is. She’s pathetic, you’re just stupid. Beating her brains in when you have next to nothing to go on. Why do you even care what I do to her? She’s going to be nothing but trouble anyway. She’s a leach, a dirty, dirty, leach. Oh, what’s wrong, Alyss? Not enjoying it? You were ever so fine with the wench over there tearing into you. What happened? What if I give you a scar on the other side of your neck to match the one you’re no doubt going to have on the other?! That should be fun!”

Nina glanced over at Alyss, who looked like she just about had enough of this. She had felt terrible about the whole situation, and wished she could get up to take the shelf off of her. But this little brat was a whole bigger problem. Hell, she was sure that she wasn't dreaming anymore. The shock she had taken had felt completely real, and if it weren't, she would have woken up by now. She moved her arm, trying to find a spot to push herself up. She had only made it up on her elbows before she noted that was her limit for all the pain she could take without it getting much worse.

“Stupid girl, stupid, stupid, STUPID, girl, idiots like you would be better off killing themselves. You’re a waste of perfectly good air.”

“P-Please, forgive me. Stop it… it hurts so badly…”
Nina heard Alyss manage to voice out. She wished she could make the girl stop, but she had been put down in a flash. All the sudden, as much as it hadn't seemed possible, the area of the room they were in had dimmed in lightness, and a voice Nina recognized from not too long ago voiced out through the air, with no real source of what direction it was coming from.

"That's enough."

Lilura was tired of hearing this little bitch run her mouth. Not only that, but she had touched her master in a way that she did not approve of at all. With the way circumstances were, she'd have to jump in. Invisible for the time being, she had immediately knocked over the bookshelf off the red-headed girl so that the other girl could stumble off. When she did, Lilura immediately brought her long form over to catch the girl and constrict herself around her. She would do well not to irritate the serpent woman, otherwise she'd receive less and less 'good air' in due time. A few seconds after that, Lilura dropped the invisibility, her full form exposed as she stared at the girl closely in the eye.

"Why are you picking on my liege? Well?"

“That’s enough.” A voice said out of nowhere. It caught Moh off guard as she looked around for where it was, but saw nothing. The bookshelf then turned over off from Alyss, knocking Moh over in the process. While Alyss was on the ground feeling as if a giant weight had just been lifted from her back, literally, Moh had been captured by some invisible being. “Why are you picking on my liege? Well?” The voice said.

Alyss crawled slowly towards Nina, just wanting to get away from the entire situation. She couldn’t see what was going on behind her as she crawled away. Even if she could, her glasses were gone and she would only succeed in seeing blurry images anyway. In all reality, her “crawl” consisted of Alyss dragging herself away with her arms as her legs dragged on behind. Her knee was on fire, pulsating in pain. She could only imagine that it looked like a giant grape by now.

Meanwhile, Moh answered the question asked by the voice, which belonged to another demon. “She interfered in my punishment upon the girl. It was my right, and she thought she could interfere. You should keep your human on a shorter leash.” She said; the tone in her voice filled with anger and hate. She watched Alyss drag herself away, which succeeded in only making the demon even angrier. “Even now she can’t fight her own battles. She needs others to stand up for her, it’s pathetic. I was teaching her a lesson. Now get your damned hand off of me and let me resume beating some sense into that stupid girl. I’ve got no quarrel with you.”

"Why are you picking on my liege? Well?"

Nina managed to lean on her arms behind her back so that she could see what was happening, and she stared in disbelief as she witnessed Lilura once more. Only this time, she had the pink haired girl trapped as the serpent tail tightly wrapped around her - forbidding any kind of movement. For now, it looked like the situation was calmed down. The burn on Nina's chest had only lessened by a pinch as she watched the conversation from the torn apart floor. It was almost as if they knew each other somehow.

“She interfered in my punishment upon the girl. It was my right, and she thought she could interfere. You should keep your human on a shorter leash." So apparently this girl was a demon too; not only that but she just sounded down-right ridiculous. "Even now she can’t fight her own battles. She needs others to stand up for her, it’s pathetic. I was teaching her a lesson. Now get your damned hand off of me and let me resume beating some sense into that stupid girl. I’ve got no quarrel with you.”

Nina saw in the corner of her eye Alyss seeming to drag herself across the floor towards her. She could understand her wanting to get away from all of this. Hell she wanted to as well, but there wasn't much left to really get away to. How exactly would they survive this event, Nina wondered. It seemed like the odds were very small, but if Lilura said that it was possibly to live with her help, then she would take her word for it. At this point, she's witnessed enough to be convinced that demons were real after all.

Lilura, on the other hand, smirked at the response the demon in her trap gave. "That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And you call yourself a good servant?" Her tail had tightened just a little around the smaller demon, emphasizing her next response. "Don't degrade me as one when I'm actually doing my role the correct way. You're forgetting one important thing," A sharp nail had hovered right above the girl's nose. SHE is your master. Not the other way around, no dear. It doesn't matter what the strength or posture is of that person. They command you. You've been chosen to fight for them, otherwise humans wouldn't need us. She already knew this child was a demon like herself. An ignorant one at that. But it wasn't the first time in her lifespan that Lilura had to say a thing or two to her own kind about their role. "And the only real reason you should have for attacking her is if she attempts to hurt you first or if she plots against you. Other than that, you might as well be like those other soulless demons spawning out there right now; masterless, savage, no one capable of taming. If you hate your liege so much, why don't you just join them? Then I'd have an even more reason to suffocate you."

Nina was surprised by what she heard. She examined the tattoo on her thigh, and remembered that it had appeared a few days after her own father's death. Had that been why Lilura showed up for her? Nina glanced back over at Alyss, who looked more exhausted than anything. She managed to push herself up so that she was sitting on the floor, and she whispered over to Alyss as the tension between the two demons increased.

"Don't strain yourself. I think this is under control now."

“That is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. And you call yourself a good servant?” She asked, her tail tightening around Moh. Moh let out a slight gasp of pain, but didn’t lose her resolve. She was more angry than anything, and a simple squeeze wasn’t about to cause her to lose her firmly held beliefs. “Don’t degrade me as one when I’m actually doing my role the correct way. You’re forgetting one important thing,” a sharp nail from the demon in front of her had focused right above her nose. “SHE is your master. Not the other way around, no dear. It doesn’t matter what the strength or posture is of that person. They command you. You’ve been chose to fight for them, otherwise humans wouldn’t need us.”

Moh didn’t believe a word of it. What kind of crap is this? She thought. The demon seemed just as stupid as the humans over there. “And the only real reason you should have for attacking her is if she attempts to hurt you first or if she plots against you. Other than that, you might as well be like those other soulless demons spawning out there right now; masterless, savage, no one capable of taming. If you hate you liege so much, why don’t you just join them? Then I’d have an even more reason to suffocate you.”

Moh simply laughed, even as she was being held, even with the sharp nail in her face. “Please… You know that reason the same as I do. We’re better than those demons out there, but you should know that we’re also better than humans. They’re weaker than us, as you can see from the state of the little leach over there.” She said, gesturing over at Alyss. “Besides, you can’t kill me… With the state she’s in, the separation of me from her would kill her easily.” She paused as she let that realization hit. It wasn’t a lie, if Moh died when Alyss was is a weakened state, Alyss had a high chance of never seeing the light of day again.

“After all, you witnessed just how cruel humans can be to each other. Look at how your human treated mine earlier. I’m trying to teach Alyss how to stand up for herself. How am I to ‘serve’ under a human who hasn’t the strength, will, or even the slightest capability of fighting back? With one simple lighting strike I almost drained her completely. Tell me, what am I supposed to do with that. It’s like showing up to a war without a weapon.”

Moh wriggled again inside the coil surrounding her. “We’ll get nothing done arguing like children. Put me down. I won’t attack her again.”

Alyss made it over near Nina, she heard every word of the conversation. It only helped in scaring Alyss even more. Could she really die simply by losing that creature? What if she died if the creature used too much power? Nina was now sitting up on the floor, somehow still able to move after what just happened. How can she be so resilient at a time like this? Alyss asked herself. Here, Alyss was broken, beaten, and battered. However, on the other hand, Nina was already recovering. “Don’t strain yourself. I think this is under control now.”

Alyss certainly hoped so. She was tired, tired in general, and tired of being abused by people, and demons, that she had just met. Alyss nodded her head and placed her head on Nina’s leg, she felt as if she could sleep on it, but now wasn’t the time. She was simply resting her head. Placing it on Miss Nina’s leg was logical as it was more comfortable than the floor. Y-yes, that is it. I-it is logical, that is all.

Lilura's expression didn't faze from hearing this. In fact, the bond between her and Nina was somewhat similar. The tattoo was permanent until this whole situation was over and she didn't need her any longer. Physically and mentally, it would be impossible to break or lose the connection they had to each other without one or the other dying. And that was the another thing. Lilura knew every little detail about Nina and what condition she was in, and what she thinks. It would be impossible for Lilura to lose track of her.

Lilura felt the demon attempt to get out of her coil once more. “We’ll get nothing done arguing like children. Put me down. I won’t attack her again.”

"I could kill you... if I wanted to; that girl is really none of my personal concern. However, it looks to me now that the two of our leaders are in agreement for working as a team, so I won't intervene on that - for I'm not as heartless as they are...despite what you, and the rest of our kind may think."

She was referring to the demons that had spawned when the apocalypse had started, the ones that had failed in the past to do their fated task and ended up becoming the monsters that most demons were stereotyped as today. Lilura couldn't stand the ones that gave her kind a bad name, and it was all the more reason to rid their existence. She knew this day would come - hell, all of the good ones should have known. The day where all of the demons that lost their dignity and right would break free of their prison in Sheol and wreck havoc on the world. In reality, her task was to either put them back in their place or destroy them, though she liked the second choice better.

After that part of the explanation was over, she had then vanished from her spot, letting the little demon go free from her coil. However, she reappeared from another corner of the room, in the same human disguise form that Nina had seen earlier, as she approached the two girls while she spoke again.

"If I were you, I probably would be upset too if my toy was broken," She bent over so she could examine the broken down human, despite Nina's shocked look over seeing Lilura's alternative form once again. "But you should know that breaking it down even more isn't going to fix it in the long run."

Nina's glance had went from Lilura to the exhausted Alyss on her leg. She clearly had gone through more than enough beatings for one day. Nina wondered if her apartment was still standing or if it had gotten trashed like her own home. That would probably still have to be a place to check while figuring this whole thing out. She couldn't blame her for wanting to lie down. She would need to slow recovery before they started moving again, considering that there couldn't have been any medical help available nearby. Hopefully her medicine cabinet in the bathroom managed to stay in pieces.

"However, if you still continue to torment this poor thing, I'm not going to force you to stop with that reason alone. However, if my master is harmed in any way by you - whether if it's because she wants you to stop or any other reason you may have - don't be surprised when I confront you again."

She only folded her arms across her chest and gave a smirk to the peeved girl. Lilura felt no need to get angry this very moment, not now at least. It was going to take more than a demon youngling to raise her fury, yet she had more control than that. It may have been her fault the whole time Nina was beating Alyss senseless earlier this morning, but it had shown what kind of personality the pink eyed girl had. Working with her would be... very interesting.

“I could kill you… if I wanted to; that girl is really none of my personal concern. However, it looks to me now that the two of our leaders are in agreement for working as a team, so I won’t intervene on that – for I’m not as heartless are they are… despite what you, and the rest of our kind may think.” Alyss flinched somewhat as she heard the demon speak of not caring for her. As the way it was now, she could easily crush the demon. However, the demon, the one that supposedly belonged to her wasn’t afraid.

In fact, as Nina’s demon let Moh go, Moh continued to float in the air with a smile on her face, obviously not bothered by it at all. The other demon reappeared in what appeared to be a human form. “If I were you, I probably would be upset too if my toy was broken,” she said. She walked over to Alyss, whose head was still resting on Nina’s leg and examined her. “But you should know that breaking it down even more isn’t going to fix it in the long run.”

Alyss caught the quick glance of Nina and blushed, just a little bit. She was tired… there was nothing wrong with wanting to rest… nothing wrong at all. “However, if you still continue to torment this poor thing, I’m not going to force you to stop with that reason alone. However, if my master is harmed in any way by you – whether if it’s because she wants you to stop or any other reason you may have – don’t be surprised when I confront you again.”

She folded her arms and smirked at the other demon. It was at this point that Alyss started struggling to get up. “You know…” Alyss began, slowly getting to her hands and feet. “Today has not been a good day. I get beat up, knocked out, kidnapped, knocked out again, tortured, and told that I am weak and useless.” She managed to get onto her knees and slowly started to put her right foot flat on the floor. “Well… I may be weak, but that does not mean that I am useless. I can do anything if I put my mind to it, and I am not going to stand here and take anymore of this abuse!”

At this point, she actually managed to stand on both of her feet, her hurt left knee shaking the entire time she put weight on it. “I accept your challenge, I will stand up for myself, just you watch. I will show you.” It was at that point, as Alyss was yelling that she had just realized what she was doing. Instantly, her knee buckled under the pressure as she fell right back down next to Miss Nina. Yet again, Alyss was crying, but not out of pain, not out of being scared, she was angry… angry at everything.

“T-this means nothing. Give me time… please. I will prove myself to be useful, I promise.” Alyss looked down at the ground as she muttered those last words, tears streaming down her face. “Do you think I enjoy being like this? I hate it… I hate it…” She was as shocked at herself as no doubt everyone else was. “I never got your name, you know? That is rude… very rude. Tell me what it is. I should at least know the name of my accuser.”

Moh simply looked down at Alyss in shock and awe. Maybe she learned something after all… “The name is Moh Shuvuu,” she said, floating down to the ground to stand on her feet. She was somewhat legitimately impressed. Alyss replied in a low voice, still somewhat in shock of what she just did. “I am calling you ‘Moh’, it’s easier to pronounce.”

Moh simply replied with a short, “very well” as she walked in front of Alyss and Nina and sat down.

[Nikolas - Sublime Park]

He woke up lying in the grass with a pounding headache. Slowly, Nikolas opened his eyes and immediately shut them again.

"Too damn bright..." he muttered. "And red..."

Red? Why the hell is the sky red?

Again he opened his eyes and brought a hand up to shade them. He already knew his sunglasses were missing; he couldn't feel them sitting on his ears or nose. So why was it red?

It wasn't just the sun but the sky itself was red. Nikolas sat up, rubbing his eyes gently. Looking around he round his sunglasses near his other hand, miraculously undamaged. Picking them up he put them back on and started looking around.

What the hell happened?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
{Earlier}

Glass rained down from above as windows began to shatter.

"More of them? I thought I took care of them..." he murmured.

There weren't any shots fired though. Brick and mortar also began falling. Cracks began to run through the outer walls and chunks began to fall.

The hell is going on?

A balcony fell, crushing someone below it. People were screaming and running around in a panic. Some who weren't moving fast enough got trampled.

A creature appeared in the center of it all-the body of a lion, the tail of a snake and the heads of an eagle, goat and lion. The heads began to devour everything. That was the last thing he remembered.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

The park was ruined. The trees had been uprooted and tossed like children's toys. Fires were razing the leaves and the plants around. Near him was a fallen tree which had hidden him from sight, probably why no one had tried to steal his shit.

About fucking time you woke up.

Nikolas spun around, his eyes searching for the speaker.

"Get out of my mind! Where the hell are you?"

Down here dumbass.

Looking down, Nikolas saw Ouroboros looking up at him. Instinctively, his hand went to his neck to make sure he wasn't seeing anything. Then his other hand reached down to take his snake just below the head.

"So you can talk eh? Well why the fuck haven't you said anything before? Maybe then I wouldn't have been shot 7 months ago," he asked the snake.

Because that wasn't me.

Before Nikolas had a chance to ask, there was a screech overhead. Looking up, the gambler saw what could only be described as a demon. On its back were a pair of stubby wings that didn't seem like they could ever hold something up. In its hand was a spear with a stone head. A trio of horns jutted from the rock-like brow, an ugly brown color just like its skin. It was laughing now, needle sharp teeth in its mouth gleaming in the red light, making them look as though they were stained with blood if they weren't already.

"Hehehe. Found ya!" the demon grinned, wagging a finger.

Dropping the snake, Nikolas reached into his coat and pulled out his gun. With a quick spin, he fired a quad of bullets at the demon. They smashed against its skin and fell to the ground flattened.

"Not gonna work," he said, knocking a fist against his chest. It made a loud sound as though one were knocking two rocks against each other.

"You can't touch me."

But I can touch you.

The black kingsnake began to roil and it exploded around Nikolas. From the small snake it had been, it transformed into a titanic serpent. An unearthly roar ripped from its throat. Despite this, the words that were heard were surprisingly soft.

"You have tread upon sancrosanct. Perish."

The serpent rose to look at the demon above. It began sputtering apologies.

"Forgive me Jormungandr! I didn't know he was your-"

The serpent's jaws came down on the other demon, rows of sharp teeth snapping shut. Small trails of black blood began to drip from the edges of Jormungandr's mouth.

"The Midgard Serpent?" Nikolas began to laugh. "Really? And just what am I supposed to be?"

Jormungandr remained silent

"Was he going to say that I'm your master?" he smirked.

He put away the gun and walked over next to the serpents body. Reaching a hand out, he laid it on the scales. Overhead more demons flew and to the sides, tall horned forms could be seen.

"So what that little girl was saying was true. And now the World Serpent is paired with the underworld's top assassin. Has Ragnorok begun already?"

In a sense, yes.

[Karel - Sublime Park]

I'll get to it later.

There was an unusual silence after Lilura had given her ultimatum. Before she realized, Nina saw that Alyss was getting up from her leg, and she attempted to get on her hands and knees; and from what Nina caught from her expression, she wasn't amused in the slightest.

“You know…today has not been a good day. I get beat up, knocked out, kidnapped, knocked out again, tortured, and told that I am weak and useless.” What the hell, Alyss, you're going to hurt yourself. Nina thought to herself as Alyss gradually brought herself up. She was on her knees now, with her right foot out in front. “Well… I may be weak, but that does not mean that I am useless. I can do anything if I put my mind to it, and I am not going to stand here and take anymore of this abuse!”

Nina's eyes widened as she got on her feet and just snapped at the smaller demon, while Lilura just stared at her with both of her eyebrows raised as if she was watching a surprising turn of a soap opera. Nina saw her leg struggle with her bad knee having her weight put on it, but Alyss was completely oblivious to it. “I accept your challenge, I will stand up for myself, just you watch. I will show you.Within seconds, what Nina was afraid would happen had occurred, and Alyss had fell hard against the floor beside her. "Alyss, you're really hurting yourself now." Nina managed to say between her outburst. She moved some of her hair strands away from her face so that they wouldn't stick to Alyss' face, which was getting streaked by tears.

“T-this means nothing. Give me time… please. I will prove myself to be useful, I promise. Do you think I enjoy being like this? I hate it… I hate it…” It was safe to say that the redhead finally cracked. Nina glanced over at Lilura for a second, who's gaze shifted to meet hers, and then back at Alyss. She was technically involved in pushing Alyss past her limits, though neither of the girls were aware of it. She wondered how Alyss would react to find out that Lilura was the 'hacker' they were after before.

“I never got your name, you know? That is rude… very rude. Tell me what it is. I should at least know the name of my accuser.”

Nina and her demon's attention shifted over to the small girl, who was floating in midair with a surprised expression on her face. “The name is Moh Shuvuu,” Was all she said in reply. Nina was just glad that she wasn't giving anymore smartass retorts or attacks at the two of them. Lilura probably was too, who was giving Moh an odd look, as if she was trying to find something out about her. “I am calling you ‘Moh’, it’s easier to pronounce.”

"Very well." Moh said. She then approached the two girls and sat, while Lilura continued to stand on her bare feet and stared through one of the bigger holes in the wall. Just like in the human world, there was her own kind that an interesting history behind them. Directing her gaze at Moh, she realized she was in the presence of one of them.

"So you're the 'Moh Shuvuu' I've heard about on occasions." Lilura said, her voice once again normal and soft, unlike the distorted and inhumane tone she would have when in her real form. She had bent down and brought her fingers through some of the smaller demon's pink hair, feeling that it was as soft as how they looked when used as wings. "You're too adorable. But behind this face, I've heard you've done some awful things...not that its relevant now, since we all have - am I not right?"

Once she was done playing with the hair, she also sat down so that she could lay on her side, her head resting on her hand. "To clarify who I am to the two of you," She was directing at Moh and Alyss. "I am Lilura, 'Miss Nina's' assigned demon. You could say that if it weren't for me, you two would have never found each other."

Nina could tell that she was hinting about what she had done twice today, but she wasn't sure if Alyss needed anymore clues on it, and she didn't even know if Moh cared or not. What Nina really wanted to know was what just happened, and why did they suddenly appear to meet the two girls, along with any other demons that may have spawned in the area. Lilura's eyes met Nina, probably meaning that she knew what she was thinking. It was almost as if her thoughts went to the demon automatically, like breathing.

"And there's no doubt you ladies are wondering what we're doing here," She said 'we' considering Moh was a demon just like herself. "But all of your questions will be answered soon enough, but it'll have to be fast."

Nina was right, Alyss was hurting herself. Even when fighting back or standing up for herself she had only really managed in harming herself more. With Moh in front of her, and Miss Nina at her side, she sat in silence. The tears still fresh on her face, but no longer crying. Wiping the tears out of her face, she watched the other demon bend over and bring her fingers through Moh’s hair. “So you’re the ‘Moh Shuvuu’ I’ve heard about on occasions,” she said. Both Alyss and Moh had noted how her voice didn’t sound the same as before.

Unlike then, she now had a soft and somewhat gentle tone rather than the scary one from before. “You’re too adorable. But behind this face, I’ve heard you’ve done some awful things… not that its relevant now, since we all have – am I not right?” Moh grinned as she asked, nodding her head to confirm that she was indeed correct. Even if Moh didn’t necessarily like her, or anyone else in the room, she could still be civil and give credit where credit was due.

The demon stopped playing with her hair, and then went to go lay on her side, her head resting on her hand. Turning to both Alyss and Moh, she explained who she was. “To Clarify who I am to the two of you, I am Lilura, ‘Miss Nina’s’ assigned demon. You could say that if it weren’t for me, you two would have never found each other.”

Moh quickly picked up what she meant, and giggled. “Oh my, and I thought I was being mean.” Alyss wasn’t quite sure what Lilura had meant. She thought it over for a bit before she figured it out. A hacker that could do things that should not have been possible… a demon accepting responsibility for Miss Nina and I “meeting”… It didn’t take her much longer after that to put two and two together.

Alyss wasn’t angry, she wasn’t even annoyed in the slightest. In fact, she started giggling very similar to Moh. After she calmed down from her giggle fit, she explained. “I-I am actually okay with that. For a while I was thinking that someone was better than me when it came to hacking… I suppose as it stands, I am still the best hacker in the city. It makes me… happy.”

Moh was quick to rain on her parade. “Not that it’s going to do you any good. No more computers, remember?” Moh said, the smug tone in her voice obvious and lined with venom as it cut Alyss deeply. Alyss quickly looked back down at the ground. One of her biggest fears was being useless and unneeded, and Moh had quickly reminded her that as it stood, with no glasses, a hurt knee, and no skills outside of computers… she was rather useless.

Lilura looked back over at Miss Nina as she began speaking again. “And there’s no doubt you ladies are wondering what we’re doing here, but all of your questions will be answered soon enough, but it’ll have to be fast.”

"So...what exactly are you two doing here, and what is happening here?" Nina asked first, though it would obviously be the first two questions that would get asked in their little meeting. Several more roars have been sounded from far into the central part of the city that could be heard from Nina's abode.

"To put it quite frankly, we had a little 'prison break' you may call it in our realm. As you may have noticed, we aren't the only demons here, and we may not be the only ones you'll encounter as of now - but the ones that were forbidden to have any contact outside of their barrier have actually been set free. We don't know who did it, or how they did it, but it's corrupting your world in the process, as you can see."

Lilura remembered seeing this world when it looked quite beautiful and unique. Humans were an interesting creation, she admitted to herself. Moh probably thought otherwise, yet she knew the two would have their differences. Those savage demons had already began to take the lives of many, and the life of this planet, and they would have to be vanquished.

"I'm aware of what you believe in Nina. Hell, you probably wouldn't be as well admired in your career if it weren't for your faith, despite that you still had doubts that we existed today and a lot of the info you had written was faulty - whether you knew it or not. Whatever religious organizations this city has, they may call this situation something else, whether if its 'the birth of a new world', 'the end of time', or 'Ragnarok', I've heard endless titles. Call it whatever you want to, but this planet is in danger of becoming an entirely different realm."

This all sounded completely bizarre to Nina. She hoped that if she and Alyss did encounter other demons, they would be somewhat benign like these two, but from the sound of what Lilura was telling, that was probably a slim chance. Another slight shake had occurred through the ground underneath the house, and Nina wondered what could have been happening as they spoke. But they probably couldn't stay there for too long.

"Moh, myself, and the majority of the demons that haven't been banished are here to put those that are back in their place, and we were assigned specifically to people that were seen as 'deserving a second chance of living', in other words, you two are very lucky to not be some of the civilians that were slain already. You both have some kind of inner strength. We're not sure what it is yet, and you probably don't either, but time will tell when it'll be revealed. There are other survivors out there like you two, given a demon for themselves, so don't doubt that you may encounter other people too. Unfortunately, Nina, your boss wasn't able to survive the start of this apocalypse either. As for your relatives, I am not sure, considering they are in a totally different part of the world right now."

So Mr. Devon is dead. Nina thought, expression still blank yet she looked slightly down to the floor. If things get back to the way they were, who would I work for then? It was probably the wrong thing to think about at this time, yet she didn't have enough of a connection with him as a person rather than a boss. How could she mourn for him? And then there was her mother and sister, who may or may not have been alive. Yet her feelings were apathetic towards them too, considering they weren't considered the best family she could have. But there were survivors apparently in this area. It wouldn't be guaranteed they could be trusted if they were to meet any, although they had yet to discover what kind of assistance they and their demons had to offer - if any.

Nina asked her question first. “So… what exactly are you two doing here, and what is happening here?” It was a reasonable question. In fact, it was more or less the same exact question that Alyss would have asked had she asked first. Just as no doubt Miss Nina heard the roars from the distance just as Alyss did. However, even as the roars sounded, somehow Alyss felt safe with Moh (despite having crippling her for the time being), Lilura, and Miss Nina next to her. Though, that wasn’t to imply that she was going to give in at let Moh win their little “bet”.

“To put it quite frankly, we had a little ‘prison break’ you may call it in our realm. As you may have noticed, we aren’t the only demons here, and we may not be the only ones you’ll encounter as of now – but the ones that were forbidden to have any contact outside of their barrier have actually been set free. We don’t know who did it, or how they did it, but it’s corrupting your world in the process, as you can see.”

Not the only demons… and the rest of them probably are not going to be very nice at all. Alyss thought. She was anxious to hear and learn more about it as she sat still and listened in anticipation. Moh, however, already knew the story, so she wasn’t really very impressed at all. But looking at how closely Alyss was paying attention, she could obviously tell she was.

“I’m aware of what you believe in Nina. Hell, you probably wouldn’t be as well admired in your career if it weren’t for your faith, despite that you still had doubts that we existed today and a lot of the info you had written was faulty – whether you knew it or not. Whatever religious organizations this city has, they may call this situation something else, whether if it’s ‘the birth of a new world’, ‘the end of time’, or ‘Ragnarok’, I’ve heard endless titles. Call it whatever you want to, but this planet it in danger of becoming an entirely different realm.”

As she sat there listening, Alyss remembered thinking about how cool an apocalypse would be. But now that she was actually in one, and was seeing just a few of the effects, she wasn’t so sure. Alyss was playing everything out in her head. The city was well populated, and from the sounds coming from that direction it was obvious that there had to be a few survivors… This meant that there would be a “resistance” of some sorts inside or near the city.

It had to be assumed that others also had demons. Furthermore, it also had to be assumed that a few of these wouldn’t be very friendly. Furthermore… they were all probably stronger than Alyss in her current state. They could either avoid them all together, or attempt to work with them. Alyss really rather liked the idea of avoiding them, but she knew they couldn’t do this alone. Even with Miss Nina at her side… After all, she was taken down by Moh easily. They were obviously going to need help.

For once, Alyss was going to have to try to get on peoples good side as they met them… if they met them. For all she knew, they could be getting killed right now.

“Moh, myself, and the majority of the demons that haven’t been banished are here to put those that are back in their place, and we were assigned specifically to prove that were seen as “deserving a second chance of living’, in other words, you two are very lucky to not be some of the civilians that were slain already. You both have some kind of inner strength.” Alyss couldn’t help but think there was some kind of mistake. Her name being placed anywhere near the word “strength” was doomed to be an oxymoron.

“We’re not sure what it is yet, and you probably don’t either, but time will tell when it’ll be revealed. There are other survivors out there like you two, given a demon for themselves, so don’t doubt that you may encounter other people too. Unfortunately, Nina, your boss wasn’t able to survive the start of this apocalypse either. As for your relatives, I am not sure, considering they are in a totally different part of the world right now.”

Alyss’ theory on other people and demons seemed correct. She was somewhat sad about hearing about Mr. Devon. Even though she wasn’t a big fan of men, Mr. Devon seemed nice. After all, he helped her out when he didn’t have to. However, she wasn’t upset in the slightest about her family possibly being gone. She hadn’t seen them, or even spoken to them in ages. As far as she was concerned, they were better off gone. The only thing they would ever hope to contribute to this situation was superstitious nonsense.

Actually… I wonder how much of it was actually nonsense… It appears they were right about demons, after all. Shaking the thought out of her head, she wanted to come up with a plan. However, she didn’t want to look like an idiot… which she was almost just afraid of as being useless. “E-excuse me… well,” she paused for a bit to try and recollect her thoughts. “If everything you say is true, not to imply that it is not, of course… Then it would seem that we are going to need as much help as we can get.”

She looked at Moh as she said the next part. “I am afraid that I… may not be able to do much due to the actions of a certain demon…” She looked back at Miss Nina and Lilura as she continued, “therefore, we will need more people to make up for what I lack. We should try to organize with as many friendly survivors as possible before we organize any kind of counterattack against a superior force.”

Alyss bushed once she realized that she sounded like some sort of character from a Sci-Fi novel. “Therefore, as much as I do not want to… I fear we must go into the city. I do not believe they will be coming to us. If my conjecture is right… they’re all probably too busy fighting for their lives to make it here anyway. Not only that, there is no promise of them helping us… however, if we help them first… they have good reason.”

Looking at Nina, she continued. “Even if they do not, I am sure Miss Nina’s strength and yours combined will make them see the light, Ms. Lilura.”

Moh, however, wasn’t very amused. She kept it to herself and didn’t say anything allowed. All this girl does is run off for help. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, I did destroy her knee… However, if she doesn’t start taking action herself, her knee isn’t going to be the only thing I destroy on her pretty little body.

“E-excuse me… well, if everything you say is true, not to imply that it is not, of course… Then it would seem that we are going to need as much help as we can get.”

“I am afraid that I… may not be able to do much due to the actions of a certain demon…” Nobody had to really turn and look to figure out who was responsible for that mishap. “therefore, we will need more people to make up for what I lack. We should try to organize with as many friendly survivors as possible before we organize any kind of counterattack against a superior force.”

Nina resisted the urge to laugh at the way Alyss was speaking. It was almost like they were conducting a mission; technically they were, but the redhead nearly made it sound more complex than that.

She did have a point. It seemed rather quiet and empty in comparison to whatever may have been going on in the main city. Most of the civilians spent their day there, so there was no doubt that there was a good share of survivors there. If they were to go there, Lilura and Moh would probably give enough protection for them both. What the other demons were capable of, they had yet to find out.

Nina caught Alyss' attention shifting over to her as she continued. “Even if they do not, I am sure Miss Nina’s strength and yours combined will make them see the light, Ms. Lilura.”

"People can get rather shady at times like these," Nina then said. "It actually wouldn't be too shocking for them to think we were sided with the 'banished' demons. There's really no easy way to tell what kind of people they are unless we assist them. And if there is a demon that threatens to attack, you'll be there, right?" Nina directed the question to Lilura, but ironically, woman gave an unsure expression in return.

"There's actually a slight rule to that." Lilura replied, glancing over at Moh for a second, who probably knew it as well as she did. "Unfortunately, as I may be able to get in connection with you mentally, we can't be out in the open at all times; not even in this form." She was referring to her human cover. It was a natural order that they couldn't stay out in the human world for too much time unless they were absolutely needed. For some reason Lilura couldn't understand, it was a popular belief among her kind that it was immoral for a demon to form a bond with a human - but she could help but think that they were interesting. Most of them seemed so clean, so unaware of another kind of beings existence, and some foolish to believe that they were a myth.

Well, at least those humans knew that they were wrong now, and some were paying the price of ignorance. "It's a regulation for us that we can only be out in your world if you're in absolute danger. We'll be able to tell when you are, but if you want to play it safe," Lilura pointed out the tattoo on Nina's thigh. It hadn't been ruined at all even after she was practically blasted out of her home. "You have that to keep yourself in check. When it flashes and rises in heat, which I'm sure you've seen it do before, that's me warning that danger could be close by."

Nina blinked as she stared at the design on her leg wide eyed. It must have flashed earlier because this event was going to happen soon after. At least the tattoo wasn't there for no purpose at all, and even if it was, it seemed like not even the most expensive laser removal could get rid of it.

"Now, I'm not entirely sure if you have something similar to stay connected with Moh Shuvuu, but if you don't I'm sure she'll be able to speak with you in thoughts, am I correct?" The question was directed at Moh as Lilura's eyes slanted over to where she sat.

“People can get rather shady at times like these,” Nina responded. Alyss wasn’t quite sure, but she could have sworn that Nina looked as if she was about to laugh as Alyss was delivering ideas. It wasn’t bad, but it caused her to blush a little more. “It actually wouldn’t be too shocking for them to think we were sided with the ‘banished’ demons. There’s really no easy way to tell what kind of people they are unless we assist them. And if there is a demon that threatens to attack, you’ll be there, right?”

Alyss had thought the same thing in all actuality, but from the look that Ms. Lilura gave Miss Nina in return, she wasn’t sure anymore. “There’s actually a slight rule to that.” She began, looking over at Moh for a second before she continued. “Unfortunately, as I may be able to get in connection with you mentally, we can’t be out in the open at all times; not even in the form.”

Alyss’ heart dropped. Miss Nina and herself were going to be alone. “It’s a regulation for us that we can only be out in your world if you’re in absolute danger. We’ll be able to tell when you are, bit if you want to play it safe,” Lilura pointed at Nina’s thigh. Alyss had no idea what was going on, but Nina seemed to understand. “You have to keep yourself in check. When it flashes and rises in heat, which I’m sure you’ve seen it do before, that’s me warning that danger could be close by.”

Looking at Moh, Alyss wondered if she would be doing something similar. “Now, I’m not entirely sure if you have something similar to stay connected with Moh Shuvuu, but if you don’t I’m sure she’ll be able to speak with you in thoughts, am I correct.”

Moh started floating in the air again, her hair being used as wings. “Oh… I do…” Moh said, the sound of her voice made it aware she had something shady planned, and Alyss wasn’t quite sure she liked the sound of that. “You’re weak enough as it is, even more so when I’m out. Therefore, it’s best that I give you this now…” With a flick of her wrist, something was appearing on her neck. It was small… she couldn’t tell what it was, but it was made of what appeared to be steel. Once it was done forming, Alyss felt around on it. It was smooth steel, and somewhat thin, but at the same time… thick. It was very strange.

Feeling around on it, she realized something… it had no clasp. “W-what is the meaning of this?” Alyss asked, a small bit of panic now detectable in her voice. “Oh, dear Alyss, that’s how I will be keeping track of you. When I go away, think of me as… in that collar you have there. When you’re in danger… or otherwise being an idiot, it’ll shock you. I can see what you see, hear what you hear, and I will speak to you when need be.”

Alyss was only paying attention to a couple of choice parts as she started trying to yank the “collar” off. “Collar?! T-this is inappropriate. You must be joking.” Moh simply nodded her head and smiled at Alyss. “It’s impossible to take off, just deal with it.” Alyss wasn’t listening in the slightest. “And what do you mean shock?”

Just as she finished the words, a tiny jolt alarmed her. It hurt, but not too much to the point where she would scream. However, it did interrupt her train of thought, get her silent, and make her pay attention to what was going on. “See? Just like that, Alyss. Also, be warned, the other half of my powers allows me to do… other things. But now is not the time or place.”

Looking up at Moh, Alyss began to protest. “I do not enjoy this.” Moh simply smiled as she started to disappear. “Lies, my dear… everyone here knows you like it.” She sang, taunting Alyss as she vanished from sight. {Don’t deny what’s in your heart, Alyss. I’ll punish you if you do…}

Alyss’ eyes lit up in terror, but she tried to suppress it. Looking at Miss Nina, “W-w-well that was… odd.” She found that she couldn’t look either Nina or Lilura in the eyes, and simply looked back at the ground. “I-I am ready to go when you two are.”

“Oh… I do…You’re weak enough as it is, even more so when I’m out. Therefore, it’s best that I give you this now…” At first, nothing noticeable had happened, but once Nina glanced over at Alyss, she noticed something different. Something was forming on her neck, looking like it was made of some kind of metal, and it had gradually expanded until it had reached all around the girl's neck. Lilura didn't exactly know what it was at first either, but once the object became more solid, her eyes lit up as to what Moh had planned for her master.

“W-what is the meaning of this?” Alyss asked Moh, who looked utterly amused. “Oh, dear Alyss, that’s how I will be keeping track of you. When I go away, think of me as… in that collar you have there. When you’re in danger… or otherwise being an idiot, it’ll shock you. I can see what you see, hear what you hear, and I will speak to you when need be.”

Lilura had turned her head another direction so that she could hide her grin, covering her mouth lightly with her hand. Nina, on the other hand, wasn't exactly sure what to think of Moh's ways. They were similar as to how Lilura was able to reach her, only it wasn't in a collar - and physical contact was in the heat of her thigh, not by shock. “Collar?! T-this is inappropriate. You must be joking.”

“It’s impossible to take off, just deal with it.”
So the others had noticed. There wasn't a clasp in sight, and it had made Alyss look trapped in a way. “And what do you mean shock?”

Suddenly, Alyss went quiet, and she seemed more focused on whatever Moh was trying to explain. Lilura still kept her stance, still amused by the whole thing. It didn't look like the shock hurt Alyss, from what Nina observed. Just a simple zap; but at the same time, she wouldn't want to be the one wearing the steel collar. “See? Just like that, Alyss. Also, be warned, the other half of my powers allows me to do… other things. But now is not the time or place.” That was right. Every demon should have had an exclusive ability that could only be used in certain circumstances. Lilura had her own that actually involved Nina's assistance, but she wouldn't be reminded of this either until the time was right.

“I do not enjoy this.”

By then, Moh was smiling, and she was beginning to fade in the atmosphere, hinting that her beginning task was done. “Lies, my dear… everyone here knows you like it.”

By then, it was complete silence once Moh was gone. Lilura figured that she could control her expressions, so she turned back around to face the two humans. Alyss had looked very alarmed by what had just happened. “W-w-well that was… odd...I-I am ready to go when you two are.”

Nina noticed that Alyss was looking down. Though there had been more than a fair share of torment in one day, all four of the girls had their share in laughter, even though some of it had been towards Alyss' demise. Lilura had then strolled over to one of the torn up drapes, slyly glancing over at Nina. "Well, if you ladies don't have any more questions,"

She then walked inbetween the wall and the drapes, leaving Nina confused as she had just vanished once again. But then Nina could feel something rubbing against her feet. In fact, it was slithering up stature, and when Nina looked slightly towards the ground, she noticed a once more half-serpent Lilura seeming to wrap herself around Nina's form. What was weird was that Nina couldn't completely feel herself in a coil; just some unusual brushing. That and Lilura seemed to be transparent; meaning that only Nina could see her - but her voice was completely audible in the room. Nina shivered slightly as Lilura smirked down at her.

"You know what to do when you need me. Don't you two go off and die on me now."

Lilura had completely vanished from sight at that, and there was a sinister laugh echoing through the room. The room had re-lit to its original brightness once that demon was gone, leaving Nina and Alyss by themselves. Today just seemed too bizarre for words, and whatever needed to be done, she wanted it over with quickly. She glanced over at Alyss, remembering that she had gotten beaten pretty badly before Nina found her.

"It looks like we'll have to head over to the Shopping District. Do you think you need anything before we go?"

Nina had asked her this in a low tone. Once they left her home, chances were low that they would be returning until everything was back to normal.
