Robert Masters
Sublime Park

After dispatching the last of the lesser demons in the area where the tournament was held, Robert was still trying to make sense of it all. Everything he knew as reality and everything he thought that was fantasy had just switched roles. He had always taken his father's stories of the adventures of Nagi and Sussano the the Sun Gods that accompanied them, Shiranui and Amaterasu. Both sun deities were in the form of a white wolf with red markings that only certain people could see.

Robert had always thought these stories were fantasy. If anything, his father probably thought the same, but it was part of his family's history. Scrolls depicting these adventures were very, very old and kept in airtight glass containers. And now he was riding atop a fabled sun goddess Amaterasu, though she was much larger than described in the stories, and there was something a bit different about her. Unknown to Robert, Amaterasu gave up her divine power, sending them off to the constellations. She did this in able to leave Celestia so that she could be summoned by the descendant of Nagi to aid humanity in its time of need.

Looking up and forward, Robert saw a giant snake attacking flying demons. Considering all that had happened with him, with Amaterasu coming to his aid, the serpent was probably also protecting a human. Or at least, that was his first thought. "Let's go, Ammy." Robert spoke, pointing to the large serpent. The wolfess barked in response and ran towards where the serpent was, small flowers and grasses springing up from the ground everywhere Amaterasu's paws hit and left the ground.

When they arrived, Robert saw a guy at the base of the giant serpent. The guy seemed to be in no danger from the serpent. Still, he had to at least see if he was alright. "Are you alright there?" Robert asked as horse-sized wolfess came to a stop. The bladed beads floated around her neck, connected by a string of fire.

Alyss couldn’t tell what was going on as Lilura turned around, but she was sure she was laughing at her. Who wouldn’t be? Moh had just turned Alyss into a laughing stock, and the worse thing about it was that Alyss could do nothing about it. She had just been humiliated in front of both Nina and Lilura. Still looking at the ground, unable to look either one of them in the eyes, Lilura spoke. “Well, if you ladies don’t have any more questions,” she then walked in between the wall and the drapes. Leaving just as Moh had.

She could see nothing as Lilura spoke up again. “You know what to do when you need me. Don’t you two go off and die on me now.” Alyss smiled out of nervousness, she really hoped she could manage that. Nina and Alyss were now alone in the room. “It looks like we’ll have to head over to the shopping district. Do you think you need anything before we go?”

Three things came to Alyss’ mind almost immediately. She needed something to quell the pain in her knee, a crutch of some sort to take the weight off of it, and her glasses… she really needed her glasses. “I do not mean to be a bother, Miss Nina… But I really need my glasses. I could also do with something for my knee, but my glasses are more important. To be honest, I am rather blind,” and useless, Alyss thought, “without them.”

Hoping she wasn’t asking for much, Alyss gathered to courage to look back up at Nina. Alyss was scared she would only make Miss Nina angry with how much she needed. “Also… if you have anything around here we could use as a weapon… I fear we may need it, with it being the end of the world and all.”

“I do not mean to be a bother, Miss Nina… But I really need my glasses. I could also do with something for my knee, but my glasses are more important. To be honest, I am rather blind without them.”

Nina suddenly remembered that she had kept herself a pair of reading glasses in one of the drawers in her bedroom. If her room wasn't completely torn like this room, there should be a good chance that they were still there; and usable. But her sight was different than Alyss', and she didn't know if they would help her much or at all. She noticed Alyss giving her full attention to her now, and she looked rather bothered by her request.

“Also… if you have anything around here we could use as a weapon… I fear we may need it, with it being the end of the world and all.”

Nina definitely had several weapons in her attic. Hopefully that was still there after this 'apocalypse' occurred. She nodded over to Alyss in confirmation that she had something for all three of her needs.

"I have some pain relievers in my medicine cabinet in the bathroom, as well as a large bandage we could wrap your knee in. It's right in my bedroom, where I'll snag my reading glasses for you - not sure if they'll help your vision or not though."

Nina could see the kitchen from the hole in the floor. It looked like the door that led to the attic behind it was busted down, but the attic still should have been accessible.

"I have several handguns and knives in my attic, considering hand-in-hand combat probably won't be a match for whatever we'll run into." Meaning what she had done to Alyss earlier would only be a little itch if she were to encounter a demon. If they couldn't handle what they were going to find, she would probably have to call Lilura out for assistance. She could have easily crushed Moh, yet Nina wasn't aware of what else she was capable of.

Standing up, she brushed herself off, and she noticed that her chest still stung slightly from the lightning that Alyss' demon had shot at her - but she was recovering at a good pace. She was at least glad that she didn't have any breathing problems. With how often she smoked, and if the shock had been strong enough, that probably would have been the end of her right there. Looking over at Alyss once more, she realized that she probably wouldn't be able to move easily.

"Are you going to need help walking?"

“I have some pain relievers in my medicine cabinet in the bathroom, as well as a large bandage we could wrap your knee in. It’s right in my bedroom, where I’ll snag my reading glasses for you – not sure if they’ll help your vision or not though.” Nina said. Alyss was happy to hear about the both of them. She wasn’t sure if the glasses would work for her, but it was better than having no option at all. As for the pain relievers, they would be a most welcome sight.

“I have several handguns and knives in my attic, considering hand-in-hand combat probably won’t be a match for whatever we’ll run into.” Guns… Alyss had never even seen a gun before, much less held one. With how small she was, shooting a gun was more likely to do more damage to her rather than whatever she would be aiming at. While she hoped the guns were there, a part of her wished they weren’t. She would only prove to make even more of a fool out of herself with one.

Nina stood up and brushed herself off. Alyss felt it amazing how easily she was able to recover and continue… while Alyss simply sat on the floor. “Are you going to need help walking?”

She already knew the answer to Nina’s question. Without a doubt Alyss was going to need help, but she refused to ask for even more assistance. “I think I can manage,” Alyss said, her tone unsure. In the same fashion she used earlier to get herself up, she turned over on to her hands and knees then lifted her right foot out. Placing all her weight on it, she put as little on her left as possible as she got to her feet, her long red hair falling to her side.

Alyss wondered if Nina had a katana of some sorts. She doubted it, no one ever did… even Alyss, being properly trained with one didn’t. Feeling it better not to ask, Alyss simply stood there, testing her knee and just how much weight she could put on it before the pain became unbearable. She winced when she put even what she considered a tiny amount of weight on it. {Not asking for help… good girl.} Alyss looked around for a bit before she realized that it was only Moh, speaking to her in her own head. Great, not even my own thoughts are safe.

There was no reply. However, Moh’s interruption made one thing clear: Privacy was no longer available. Looking down at the ground, Alyss mumbled as she sighed. “Winter is coming...” A line made famous from a series of books she read. The series hadn’t even finished yet… now it never would.

As Lucia walked down the broken street, she heard otherworldly shrieks, something of terrible horror. Pointing her bow and arrow around, Lucia slowly walked to the church, worried about what was to happen to any survivors.

"Stand firm, do not run!"
A voice rang in her head, making her turn around, and point her bow in another direction.

"Who's there?" Lucia looked around, but saw no one there. She was afraid that she was going to be ambushed. As Lucia continued to look around, the voice sighed, "Mortals, so ignorant. Yet I do not blame you for that of which you do not know." Suddenly, Lucia was caught in a flash of white light that blinded her. As the white light shone brightly, Lucia felt weaker.

Eventually the bright light faded away. Lucia got down on her hands and knees, breathing heavily. It was as if a lot of strength was just sapped from her body. As Lucia slowly looked up, she asked, "W-Who are you?"

"I am the demon known as Artemis."

"I think I can manage." Alyss replied to Nina, although the platinum blonde could detect a bit of an uncertain tone in her response. Nina stood close to her and watched as she gradually brought herself up, willing to catch if she were to stumble once again. She had hurt herself and was beaten until she hurt enough for one day. Then again, it had only been several hours since their encounter and presently. Looking over to the window, she didn't even know what time of the day it was anymore because of how red and dark the sky was - almost as if it were dyed with blood. Something told her that she would be seeing plenty of it in the future.

Once Alyss was standing, Nina examined her briefly. She would have to stay within a foot or two from Alyss so that she could see where she was going clearly. She glanced down at her knee briefly before she looked at the rest of her posture. It looked like she could hold well until she got the treatment to lessen the pain. "If you say so." Nina replied, honestly having doubts. But if Alyss said that she could deal with her condition - especially after she stood up for herself against Moh - then Nina wouldn't interrogate her. She nodded her head over to the side to gesture at the staircase. "All the rooms are downstairs, so watch your step when heading down."

With that, Nina turned her whole body towards that direction as she walked slowly towards the staircase, hoping that Alyss would be able to walk at a good enough pace to keep up with her. She kept an average pace as she went down the stairs, although it was slightly annoying her at the same time out of reflex. She was naturally a very fast walker, and couldn't stand the feeling of walking slow - whether if it was because she was broken somehow or if she was walking behind a slugging crowd.

Wow, Nina. Can't even bare with slowing down just a little for your poor friend? You're so negative at times.

Get out of my head, snake.
Nina heard snobbish laughing in her conscience after that, and she sighed lightly to herself as she went through the hall to where her bedroom was. Looking at it, her room didn't appear as badly damaged as the upstairs lobby did. There were no holes in the wall, but there were plenty of cracks to count. Many items were positioned as if there was just a riot - her full-body mirror was leaning across the door to her wardrobe, and glass pieces were broken off around the floor. That suddenly reminded herself that she didn't have to worry about stepping on any pieces because of the boots she was wearing, but when she took Alyss into her home, she was wearing nothing but socks. Some pieces looked sharp enough to stab through the fabric. She would probably need to borrow shoes too, so Nina would need to know her shoe size later on.

Seeing that the many shards of glass would interfere with Alyss going to the bathroom with her safely, Nina turned her head to the side, giving her a note.

"Wait here. I'll get the pills and bandages, so sit on the bed if you need to."

Too bad her room wasn't as big as she preferred. She went all the way around the bed to stride to the bathroom, reaching over to open the medicine cabinet once she was in. Surprisingly, the cabinet had only been tilted to an odd angle, so no serious damage was seen once Nina opened it. Grabbing a water bottle and her bottle of naproxen, she reached her other free hand for the soft roll of bandages before returning to her room. Setting down the supplies on her bed sheets and getting on her knees, she grabbed lightly at the left pants leg before speaking once more.

"Let's see what the damage is."

“If you say so,” Nina said, gesturing to the stairs. “All the rooms are downstairs, so watch your step when heading down.” As Nina started heading down stairs, Alyss’ eyes widened. The stairs weren’t going to be easy, not in the slightest. She wanted to ask for help, but her pride refused to let her as she slowly started hobbling towards the stairs.

Alyss followed Nina down the stairs. However, she was unable to keep up as Nina walked down them. Alyss, unfortunately had to walk rather slowly due to her knee. She was somewhat fine when walking on a flat surface, but it was not the case as she slowly made her way down the stairs. Every step hurt, and it was made clear as she winced in pain. Whenever she had to move down a stair, her left knee wanted to buckle. I can do this… I know I can do this… Alyss thought.

For such a short staircase, it took an eternity to get down. As she reached half way she felt like hopping down on her right leg, but she was far too scared of falling flat on her face. Being as stubborn as she was, she simply refused to give in. She was going to fight through her pain and make it to the bottom of the stairs without making herself look like a fool and without asking for help. Eventually, Alyss made it to the bottom of the stairs and smiled in what to her was a mission accomplished. She had vanquished the stairs!

Now that she was at the bottom of the stairs, she quickly hobbled back to Nina as quickly as possible. There was glass on the floor, and Alyss quickly remembered that she was wearing socks. It was then that Nina spoke out about it. “Wait here. I’ll get the pills and bandages, so sit on the bed if you need to.” Alyss simply nodded her head and sat on the bed. It was… amazingly comfortable. In fact, it was the most comfortable thing she had sat on all day. She could almost fall asleep on it and forget everything that happened. However, she knew that wasn’t an option.

She simply sat their quietly on Nina’s comfortable bed when she returned. In her hands was bottle of something, and a roll of bandages. Nina set them all on the bed next to her, got on her knees and then grabbed Alyss’ left pants leg. “Let’s see what the damage is.”

“Y-yes,” Alyss said, slowly lifting her pants leg up above her knee, almost letting her thigh show. She blushed somewhat at this action. However, when she saw the shape her own knee was in she looked disgusted. It was beyond purple… It looked almost black, and it was swollen about twice the size it should have been. All in all, it looked awful… “It looks as if a Smurf just vomited on it,” Alyss said, trying to keep the mood light. “Miss Nina? I… do not handle pain very well…” Her sentence was interrupted by Moh, once again in her head. {Liar.} “Please, do try and be gentle.”

Leaning back on her hands, Alyss prepared for Nina to help her knee.

“Y-yes,” Alyss said. Eventually, she lifted up the leg of her pants as Nina observed most of the exposed skin - and her eyes widened at what she saw. Her knee was bruised badly, and it was swollen past what Nina imagined it would look. Moh had given her more than she bargained for. “It looks as if a Smurf just vomited on it,” Alyss said, and she was literally right. “Miss Nina? I… do not handle pain very well...please, do try and be gentle.”

Nina examined the bruising some more, and that's when she noticed that there were some thin lines of red on it. Alyss had gotten some open wounds on the injury as well, and as much as she probably didn't want to put the girl in any more pain, she would have to disinfect the knee before putting the bandages around it. "We're going to have to clean this off first so that you won't get an infection." Nina said, standing back up and heading back over to the bathroom. "You should probably take those pain killers now."

Glancing over at the counter through the fallen over bottles of products, Nina noticed that some of her first aid disinfectants had either broke or spilled over. The only bottle she had untouched was her cleaning alcohol. Well, this wouldn't be pleasant. Grabbing the bottle, she took several clothes of paper towels with her as she headed back over to Alyss, her knee still exposed and swelled.

"This...might hurt a little. But it'll be over soon." Nina assured as she got back on her knees. Opening the bottle, the scent stung as the invisible fumes had drifted in the air. Pouring some into a paper cloth, she set the bottle down and placed the wet cloth over her knee. After waiting a second or two by examining where the spots of the cuts were, she began to wipe at the girl's knee. She noticed that it was getting some dirt off as well, so in all reality, this was a good decision to make. Once the knee was disinfected, Nina tossed the somewhat blood stained cloth into the trash bin near the mirror.

Once that was done, she reached for the roll of bandages, tearing a good length off the roll as she carefully held Alyss' leg out and began wrapping the knee. Luckily, the material wasn't rough, so it would keep her knee protected and without harm for a while. When she was sure the wrap was firmly tightened enough, she sighed in relief before getting her way back up. But oddly enough, as she made her way up from her knees, she felt a sharp pain someone on the side of her back. Grimacing a little, she looked over her shoulder to see where it was coming from, but she couldn't exactly see from that angle. She thought that she had recovered from the damage that was given from being blasted from the house - but apparently she wasn't. Glancing over at Alyss, whatever her condition was after the treating, she had pulled her tube top up slightly.

"Do you see anything on my back? I felt a sharp pain on my way up."

Alyss and Nina.

Something inside the bathroom saw the two women as they entered. It lurked upon the wall of the bathroom like an arachnid, invisible for now but ready to reveal its terrifying visage at any moment. A pair of eyes bored intently into both women as well as their new companions. How disgusting that they were so willing to serve the humans like this.

Well, he would soon see to it that there would be no more servitude. No more demons pledging their allegiance to the human masses. This was their chance. He would not let those disgusting creatures pledge allegiance unpunished.

Holes in the invisible creature's palms let loose vicious talons of sharpened, silvery metal, drawing blood as they scraped against the walls of his palm's interior. The nerves had been long since dead and unfeeling, so it didn't hurt him; not anymore.

But it would hurt them. Oh yes, yes it would.

Nikolas and Robert

"Bravo." A sharp clapping of the hands could be heard, and a woman, pristine and crystal clean despite the carnage around her, approached Nikolas. She looked at him before glancing at the blood soaked serpent that was now this young man's companion, and spoke again.

"So then. You now control the Midgard Serpent. Jormungard, he who rested at the foot of Yggdrasil, deep beneath the sea. He who will battle Thor to the death. Son of Loki. And you, who have tamed him."

And now another boy approached? How fascinating. She glanced at him. He too, was covered in blood, with a colossal wolf by his side. She took a step towards him now, ignoring Nikolas and Jormungandr once again.

"And here we have the tamer of Amaterasu, goddess of the sun. Born of purity and living in purity. But her temper was not quite as flawless as the way she came to be, now was it?" Her tone was slightly mocking to Amaterasu.

She toyed with her scarf with one hand, lifting it to her mouth with a tiny smile as she asked her next question.

So then. What do you think of this slaughter, kiddos?"

Lucia

"A gift from God."

David smiled warmly at Lucia as he stood up from where he had been kneeling with the other survivors, who had a much different reaction to Artemis than David, scrambling back in fear and pressing their backs against the wall.

"These poor followers of God." David's tone and expression were full of sorrow as he shook his head. "So fearful of this event that they can no longer differentiate between the celestial and the infernal."

Even as he spoke, pounding could be heard on the door of the church, the howls and moans of foreign beings reverberating through the church and causing the already terrified citizens to whimper in fear, holding their loved ones close as the pounding persisted and intensified.

"This is a place of God. And these are people of God. And that is why they are drawn to this place. They fear salvation, for to them it means ruin. They wish to desecrate God. Will you allow such a thing to happen."

David gestured to the people huddled at the back of the church. "Show these children of God, child. Show them the difference between heavenly...and infernal."

OOC: I'll get to Thoma next time I post.

Nina was still looking at her knee when both she and Alyss had noticed a few scratches on it. “We’re going to have to clean this off first so that you won’t get an infection.” Nina said, heading back over to the bathroom. “You should probably take those pain killers now.” Almost instantly, Alyss opened the bottle and took two of them. She knew in the back of her mind that it wasn’t going to work fast enough. However, if it was just peroxide, she would be fine.

However, as she saw Nina return, she saw that it wasn’t peroxide… it was rubbing alcohol. “O-oh no…” She said, the sound escaping from her lips. “This… might hurt a little. But it’ll be over soon.” Back on her knees, she opened the bottle and Alyss could smell it from on top of the bed. She poured some onto a paper cloth and placed it onto her knee. As the alcohol made its way into her wounds, Alyss let out a quiet scream and threw the upper half of her body onto the bed.

It really was over quickly. Before Alyss realized what was going on the pain was over, and Nina was done with her knee. Nina then lifted her leg up and wrapped her knee in the soft bandages. All the while, Alyss could still feel the stinging sensation of the alcohol on her knee. After she was done, Nina stood up, and Alyss saw her wince just a little bit. Alyss sat up as Nina pulled up her tube top slightly. “Do you see anything on my back? I felt a sharp pain on my way up.”

Alyss looked and saw what looked like a mid-sized hole on her back? “Miss Nina! H-how were you moving with this… hole in you?!” Alyss was shocked… it looked awful. It wasn’t deep, but you could tell she landed on something sharp earlier. If anything, it was just a centimeter deep, and it wasn’t even that wide of a wound, but either way it looked painful. “It looks awful, Miss Nina…” It was then that Alyss realized that she was going to have to clean it just as Nina cleaned hers. “You may wish to get comfortable…”

Little did she knew, there was something in the air waiting to ensure that neither one of them would get comfortable for a while.

[Nikolas - Sublime Park]

Letting his fingers run through his hair, Nikolas smiled.

"So now I get to do my work and I have the World Serpent. What could be better?"

And then there were someone else, riding their demon towards him, calling out to him.

"Seems like someone else has come to join the fight," he laughed. "So we all have demons now is it?"

Then there was the pristine young woman that appeared, almost verifying the fact. She didn't settle well with Nikolas. His trigger finger itched slightly but he stifled it.

"I'm used to it, though without the demons. Most should go down with enough steel though."

===========================================================

[Karel - Sublime Park]

It had been sheer luck that he had avoided the fault that ripped through the park inches from his feet. The ground split open and from it spewed demons that both flew and crawled. having jumped backwards to avoid the splitting earth, it was no surprise that he lost his balance. Scrambling back up, he ran off, leaving everything in his hands behind. Luckily his personal things were in a messenger bag over his shoulder and they were lost but the roses were.

Behind him one demon watched him, some sort of drool leaking from its mouth. It fell onto the flowers and with sizzling sounds they withered and died. It bounded after him, dropping down to all fours as the liquid that dripped from its mouth left a trail of dead plants behind it.

Looking behind him he saw the demon racing towards him. He picked up the pace, his bag banging against his leg.

Damn! Damn! Why is this happening? What the hell is going on? Where's Nikolas when you need him?

Then it came to him. Reaching into his coat, he yanked out the gun and the clip. Jamming it in, he cocked it and stopped before turning around. With shaky hands, he pointed it at the demon. Before he could pull the trigger a giant paw, manacled in a matching chain stamped into the ground next to him from above.

Falling onto his ass for the second time, Karel looked up to see a heaving mass of fur. Looking around he saw the beast's four legs planted all around him and a massive tail swishing behind. The beast looked down at him, hot breath covering Karel.

"So you're the one who called me."

It wasn't exactly a voice but not a thought. Almost like it had growled and translated in his head.

"I...I don't...I don't know," Karel stammered, for the first time in a long while not even the slightest bit calm.

Leaning down, the wolf sniffed at Karel.

"The chains seems to say otherwise."

Looking down, Karel could see, gleaming on his wrists, a pair of silver wristbands that matched the beasts manacles. Peering at them a bit more he could see words inscribed on them. Karel was somehow able to read the odd script.

“Leyding Dromi Gleipnir...”

"The three bindings of Fenrir, eldest son of Loki."

A fog covered memory came back from a class on mythology on how Loki's children were beasts witht he exception of his daughter. Fenrir was the wolf.

"So these mean I control you?" Karel asked, his calmness slowly returning.

"Don't think I can't rip you to shreds because of those."

"What about that?" Karel asked, forgetting that the hand he was pointing with held the gun, ending up gesturing at the demon with it.

"That will be obliterated."

Fenrir didn't need to even move. It ripped loose a savage howl from the depths of its throat. Karel could have sworn that he could see sound wave emanating and cutting into the demon. It echoed as the demon fell, its body lacerated by thousands upon thousands of slashes so that not a trace of its skin was even left. It fell, a bloody pulp to the ground.

"So what do we do now?"

"That's up to you, master."

The growl wasn't even in the least bit friendly the final word filled with sarcasm and venom.

Robert Masters
Sublime Park

Robert didn't seem to care too much for the lady considering how she was taking this whole situation. This didn't seem to be the most pleasant duo of people. "What do I think? Thousands of innocent people dead, who knows how many children died, people are fighting for their lives against demons that can shrug off attacks that can kill a normal human, I really don't think Ammy here would be in the best of moods, all things considered." Robert spoke, sensing the woman's tone as mocking to his companion.

"And to answer your question, quite frankly I think this slaughter is a hellish nightmare! Now I don't know about you, but I'm going to see if I can find any other survivors. Once all of the survivors are together, we can all focus on how to best deal with this situation, because simply fighting waves of demons is only going to work for so long. With more survivors, we'll have more minds to help think of a solution. And if other survivors have demons or other spiritual entities aiding them, then that gives us all a better chance of survival. I don't know what happened that caused this whole thing to happen, but there has to be a way to stop it before it gets worse and more people die." Robert explained in a sharp, strong tone of voice to the woman. There was certainly something about her that didn't agree with him, and Ammy didn't seem very happy either, but she didn't so much as growl, but rather let Robert be her mouthpiece.

“Miss Nina! H-how were you moving with this… hole in you?!” Alyss asked. Nina blinked and raised a brow, not entirely sure if she heard clearly what the redhead had said. She reached behind her back with her left hand to feel around her skin for any kind of open wounds. Eventually, she ran her hands over what felt like gash.

“It looks awful, Miss Nina…” After several seconds, Nina actually felt the 'hole' that Alyss had mentioned, and it had stung the moment she thought about it may have got there. She was shocked too as to how she hadn't noticed it till now.

"Holy shit, dude." She said, bringing her hand back in front of her. There was dry blood stains on her fingers, which means that the wound may have still been partly fresh. Hopefully nothing was caught in it. "I didn't even feel that until now."

“You may wish to get comfortable…” Nina glanced over at Alyss for a minute, taking a few seconds to get what she meant. She would have to treat her injury as well, only this . . . this was literally a hole in her back. The pain probably would be much worse than what Alyss experienced, despite her somewhat low pain tolerance and just having several cuts and bruises on her knee, but Nina knew it wouldn't feel good. Not in the slightest.

Pulling her shirt just a little higher, she had faced the direction her bed was in and lied down on her stomach, her talking somewhat muffled by the blanket. "Let's just get this over with."

As Nina’s fingers felt her back for her own wound, Alyss sat behind her somewhat uncomfortably. It wasn’t until Nina’s fingers found it that Alyss jumped in surprise as Nina said in a somewhat exclamatory tone, “holy shit, dude. I didn’t even feel that until now.” What had really caught Alyss off guard was the profane manner of the statement. While Alyss wasn’t the most innocent person in the world, she was still always somewhat shocked to hear profanity out in the open.

Looking at the wound again, Alyss knew what she was going to have to do, and she already felt awful about it. It was without a doubt going to hurt a lot more than Alyss’ tiny scrapes. Nina pulled her shirt up a little higher. “Let’s just get this over with.”

Alyss slowly grabbed the bottle of rubbing alcohol and the paper towels that sat next to her. Her hands shaking she damped the towel, and began to slowly reach for Nina’s back. “I-I am…” she started, but quickly cleared her throat to remove any traces of nervousness… at least from her voice. “I am about to place it on your back… Please, get ready.”

Without any further hesitation, Alyss’ shaking hand gently placed the paper towel soaking with alcohol onto the wound on Nina’s back. Using her finger to ensure any dirt was removed and cleaned from the wound, Alyss finished up as quickly as possible. “There… It is clean now, Miss Nina… a-are you okay?”

As Lucia slowly stumbled to get herself up, Artemis walked over to the girl, grabbed her arm and lifted her to her feet with her strength. "Thank you."

"A gift from God."

Lucia and Artemis turned around and saw David standing up and taking care of some survivors, afraid of what Lucia had summoned. "David!" Lucia said surprised. The survivors however cowered in fear of her, which made the young woman worry.

"These poor followers of God. So fearful of this event that they can no longer differentiate between the celestial and the infernal."

Lucia looked at Artemis as the doors were being pounded, and the otherworldly howls and shrieks were heard throughout the church. Artemis summoned a bow and arrow and aimed right at the door. Lucia got behind Artemis, into a sort of a pseudo fighting stance.

"This is a place of God. And these are people of God. And that is why they are drawn to this place. They fear salvation, for to them it means ruin. They wish to desecrate God. Will you allow such a thing to happen?"

"I...I will not!!!" Lucia said to David. "I won't let anyone come to destroy God's home or kill his people. I will fight!" Artemis smiled at Lucia determination and willingness to defend the people at the church.

"Show these children of God, child. Show them the difference between heavenly...and infernal."

David left to escort the people to a safer place while the door was forced open, and a few demons made their way to the church. Without warning, Artemis fired an arrow that punched through one of the demon's in the head, dropping him with a thud, Lucia looked around to see how she could help her new friend fend off the demons and defend the church.

“I-I am…” Nina heard Alyss began to say. She cleared her throat a little bit and could tell that she was probably more afraid of the pain than Nina was - and she was just doing the cleaning. She felt a bit of rubbing alcohol drip on her back near the wound, probably from the towel Alyss may have been using, and instantly braced herself for what would occur. “I am about to place it on your back… Please, get ready.”

My body is ready...Nina confirmed in her head. Several more drops were felt sliding down her back, and then the cloth was placed on her back without anything more said. Nina was somewhat glad that her face was buried in her bed sheets, biting down on some of the comforter roughly. Only a slightly stressed groan managed to sound out of her while her hands clenched against the sheets as the girl next to her managed to finish the disinfecting nearly as fast as she did. Relieved of the pain, she exhaled as the sudden dry air had hit against her wound. “There… It is clean now, Miss Nina… a-are you okay?”

Using her hands, she forced herself off the bed until she was on her knees and then turned around so that she could sit frontward on the bed. Glancing at the towel that Alyss used, she decided that the pain was worth it from the sight of the blood stains and dirt that was on it. "Yeah, I'm fine." Bending over for a brief minute, she picked up the roll of bandages that had apparently rolled off the bed while the two girls were doing their business and set it on Alyss' lap, considering she couldn't exactly see where the hole on her back was. "I can't see where the wound is, so you'll have to bandage me. We'll check the attic next."

Do they not make a cute team? Lilura thought to herself, completely unseen by the eye of reality beneath her. From what was seen, it looked like for now, there wasn't any real danger. The central part of the city was where the real chaos was happening, and Lilura could see it all. Dozens of humans lying motionless and ripped to shreds were all over the tile grounds, along with some slain demons of the other kind. At least her own kind was making some progress.

From the way things were, it didn't seem like Lilura was going to be summoned out any time soon, but she couldn't be too sure. She was well aware that some things . . . were an enigma. She taught herself to expect the unexpected and to prepare for what wasn't there. These girls had better known to do the same. Even if she was there to guard Nina, one tiny screw up could cost them their existence - and their hope to be restored with the planet in the end.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” Nina said, after she had felt around the wound. Alyss wasn’t very comfortable doing what she had to do. But it was for the greater good, and she didn’t want to lose Nina because of a flesh wound later. Nina placed the bandages onto Alyss’ lap. “I can’t see where the wound is, so you’ll have to bandage me. We’ll check the attic next.” Nodding her head, Alyss picked up the bandages and started unwrapping some. All the while, she noticed her hands were shaking more over this than they were over the alcohol.

Alyss had never had to put bandages on a person before… and in all reality, had no real way of telling how she should start. “L-let us see…” Alyss started, the hesitation in her voice evident, and even more amplified by her hands shaking. “I ca- I- I- I can do this…” Putting her arms around Nina’s stomach in a kind of reverse hug fashion, she started to wrap the bandages around her. “I-I am sorry.” She was glad that Nina couldn’t see her face… very glad indeed. Her face was as red as a strawberry, and her arms kept shaking to the point where she couldn’t control it.

“V-very sorry, Miss Nina…” Alyss said, apologizing again. After about four goes, she made sure the wound was dressed up properly. “T-there… that should be all. I am very, very, sorry about that.” She was looking down at the bed as she said it, embarrassed and face bright red. However, she would have been lying to herself if she said that she didn’t enjoy being that close. Dismissing the notion quickly, she spoke again. “Let us go to the attic, shall we?”

Once Alyss was given the bandages, Nina turned her body so that she would be facing the wall where the bed posts were located. Putting her hands on her lap in front of her, she gave Alyss plenty of space to do the wrapping. “L-let us see…” Alyss said. Her voice was awfully shaky, and a few good seconds had passed as Nina awaited the wrapping to start...only there was a bit of a pause. For a brief second, Nina's eyes narrowed to her right to see if Alyss was going to start, but couldn't tell from the angle she was in.

“I ca- I- I- I can do this…” After that, Alyss finally began the bandaging. But from the way things started, it seemed like Alyss wasn't entirely sure of what she was doing. She felt the girl's smaller body push against her back as she reached around her stomach to find a starting point to bandage. “I-I am sorry.” Nina had no comment. She only waited patiently as Alyss tried a couple of times to figure out how to bandage, but she blinked as could feel fidgeting against her sides.

“V-very sorry, Miss Nina…” Alyss apologized once again. Nina glanced down for a moment, and noticed that Alyss' arms were shaking. Even though that chances were that Alyss had never bandaged anyone before, Nina wasn't expecting her to be this nervous. After the third try, the redhead managed to do it the proper way.

“T-there… that should be all. I am very, very, sorry about that.” Nina sat up straight to find out that the bandages were tight enough around her to let the wound heal. Turning her head slightly to wear Alyss sat, she noticed the girl looking down at the bed. Though her face was hidden by the red hair that fell around it, Nina could tell that she was embarrassed about something - whether if it was because of her more than enough attempts to bandage...or something else. Huh. Nina thought, her expression blank as Alyss then looked up at her. “Let us go to the attic, shall we?”

"Not so fast," Nina immediately answered, getting up from the bed. "We still need to help your vision out." She then walked over to the drawer that apparently had fell over on it's side and used her hands to gradually push it back up on it's legs, making a somewhat loud bang as it was adjusted. Hopefully her reading glasses hadn't been broken. Pulling the middle drawer open, she grabbed the navy colored case that sat at the back corner and opened it to check her glasses' condition. Other than a little bit of dust, which she blew off, they were in good condition still. Walking back over to Alyss, she held out the open case to her. "See if these work for you."

Alyss really hoped that Nina was unable to see her face. She was so embarrassed that she could die. About to stand and walk to the attic, Nina stopped her. “Not so fast,” she said. It caused her to panic a little bit. Wh-what is going on? She couldn’t think of a reason why Nina would stop her. Did she want to say something? Was she going to tell Alyss what a horrible job she did with the bandages? Nina stood up out of the bed. All the while, Alyss continued panicking. Is she going to hit me again? Did I do that much of a horrible job?

“We still need to help your vision out.” Nina finally said. Alyss’ heart finally stopped beating at a million beats a second. Happy that she didn’t do such a terrible job that it made Nina angry, Alyss smiled. {You treat everyone else like crap but you can’t keep yourself from panicking like an idiot around her…} Moh said. Shut up. I do not understand it… I am never like this. What have you done to me? There was a sound of laughter. {This is all you. I’ve not done a thing.}

Somehow, Alyss doubted that. She was known for being quite rude to people she had just met. She would not speak to them, give them rude looks, or speak to them like children. But things were different around Nina, and she couldn’t put her finger on it. By all means, Alyss should have been very rude to Nina, considering that their first meeting included Nina burning her with cigarettes and bashing her over the head and breaking her glasses. Why was she so nervous around Nina?

Her thoughts were interrupted when Nina returned with a navy colored case of glasses. “See if these work for you.” She hoped that the glasses inside weren’t the same color as the case… Opening the case, she saw that they weren’t. The glasses had thin frames, and were light pink. It wasn’t exactly her favorite color, but it would do. Taking the glasses out of the case, she tried them on. “They are…” Alyss started, looking around the room and blinking a few times to get a better feel of them. Suddenly, a smile appeared on her face. “They are fine! Thank you, Miss Nina.”

Alyss found herself almost excited upon receiving the glasses. “They really are fantastic, thank you so much.” Standing up from the bed, she was ready to see what was in the attic. “I am ready now,” Alyss said, unable to hide her smile.

Thoma Leonhardt
Shopping District

Thoma began searching through the restaurant, checking everyone that wasn't covered in blood for signs of life. His lovely kitsune demoness kept her eyes open for any other attacking demons.

It was like a horror/action movie flick had just turned into reality. This whole experience all still seemed too surreal to be true, but the bloody corpses and the smell of blood, as well as the feel of Lilly's hands when they caressed him, all confirmed the reality of the situation.

Some people were still just coming out of it. It was like hell just opened up and launched an attack on humanity. The young teen was still mentally reeling form it all, but kept his composure as a strong, mature, albeit flirtatious, young man. After all, a gentleman would never show fear, even in the face of death.
