Frederich Franz von Tann
Tann’s Workshop

As dawn started to set in over the skyline of the sprawling technocratic metropolis that is Line Ark, Frederich was under a steam-powered car, checking on the hydraulic system under the vehicle itself. He had been working on the vehicle all night, and he was exhausted from all the work, but upon its completion he would come out from under the steam car, happy with how the repair and modifications worked out. Looking down at his clothing, he looked quite dirty, his hands and clothes splotched with black grime and oil. “Better get myself cleaned up before the client comes for his car.”

Frederich headed upstairs to the second floor of his home and garage, where he would shower and change his clothes. Just in time as his elderly mother would be up, having a drink of tea. As he came down to the first floor common room, he would see his mother, “Guten Morgen, Mutter.” (Good Morning, Mother)

“Good morning Frederich, have you finished your work for the day.” Frederich’s mother, named Eveline, spoke whilst she was drinking her cup of tea. Frederich sat down on the chair opposite her’s and poured a cup of tea. “I am, all I have left to do is wait for the client to come and get paid.”

"Oh that's lovely, I'm hope this business arrangement serves you well, son." To Frederich, he knows it will turn out well, and he would get paid handsomely for it, but that's just business as usual for him.

OOC: The RP has started, you may start anywhere you wish in the world, though the first major event will take part in the city of Line Ark after around say the first page or page and a half, depending on the level of activity.

Eile Weiss

Dawn was among her as the Cat girl Eile Weiss, musical idol of Britianna, was up and sitting on a bench. In front of her, the stage for the concert on Line Ark where she and a few others were going to sing on was nearing completion. She smiled as she looked down on the paper she had in her hand. It was from her twin brother, Levont. The last thing he wrote was that he was on his way back from an archeological dig that went slightly off plan. Eile hoped that he was ok as her tail swung left and right, brushing against anything that passed behind her. She would write back if she could, but the last letter took nearly four months to reach her since Levont's dig site was over near Saadia's boarder. She put the letter away as she looked away from the stage. Among the items laid out for the concert that night, Eile's personal pack sat there, including her dual Jian swords, Lion's Fang. Walking over to her pack, she placed the letter away as she hooked on her dual swords.

"Manager? I'm going to go to the local park if you need me." Eile called out.

"Ok Eile. Don't hang out there too long with the kids." The manager of her company, which he renamed Feudal Cats, replied as Eile scampered off.

It was a few minute's jog to the local park where she saw some kids playing on the playground. The cat girl smiled as she watched them. One of the kids recognized her and soon enough, the entire playground of kids surrounded her.

"Eile, can I have your autograph?"
"Can I have a hug?"
"Can I have a picture with you?"

Many cries of request came as Eile smiled while answering with either a yes, a hug, or a pose. Some of the adults even came by and decided to talk with her for a bit. Eile was looking past one of the adult when she saw a robed figure watching her. She dismissed it as someone trying to get the robe off when she then noticed that the person did not even try to take the robe off. Eile's hands slowly went to her swords, which gave the adults notice as they started to look at the direction where she was looking at. Before she could say anything, a loud call came for Eile.

"Eile, the manager wants you back. It's time for rehearsal." A female back up singer called as Eile moved her hand away from her swords.

"Ok then. I'll be going." Eile replied as the kids moaned with disappointment.

"Don't be sad. You can see me at my concert tonight." Eile reassured the kids as she left with her backup singer.

Soon enough, she reached back to the concert stage where the manager handed her a music sheet with one of her songs. The song has special meaning to her since it was the one that she sang with Levont.

"Boss, do you know anyone that has a traveling robe on and where's our fifth person?" Eile asked.

"I have someone special in mind for the fifth person. As for the robe person, no. Not the I know off. Ok then. From the top." The manager called out as Eile took a deep breath.

---------------
Levont Weiss

Levont yawned as the member of the god race and twin brother of Eile walked off of the ship that brought him to the city/island of Ark. It was a rough four months since he sent the last letter to Eile. Many fights was fought as he managed to save the dig site he was at. He was fairly unharmed minus the various shallow cuts he had taken from the fights he had near the end of the dig. But he managed to reach Line Ark.

"Hey Levont. Wanna hit the bar bro? We can all use a drink or ten after that mishap of a dig we just had." One of the male archeologist asked.

"No. I have to write a letter to Eile. Let her know that I made it back alright." Levont answered back.

One of his fellow archeologist sneaked up behind Levont and covered a robe over him and his pack, including his spear Gungnir.

"Oh come on now. The letter can wait. Besides, it's not like she's on this island right now. Your sister is a huge idol. Best chances is that she could be in Xiangyang doing another concert." Another male archeologist stated.

Just as Levont was about to answer, three female archeologist came up to him with a flyer in their hands.

"Levont, what was your sister's name again?" One of the women asked.

"Eile. Why?" Levont asked as he tore an opening for his face to look through.

"She has a concert here tonight." the remaining two female archeologist answered while handing him the flyer.

Levont took the paper and started reading it with a smile on his face.

"Guys, I'll see you later tonight. I'm going to see if I can't get us some free tickets." Levont replied.

"Dinner and a show. Best way to enjoy the day." the three female archeologist replied as Levont shooed them before starting to make his way to the location of the concert.

Soon enough, Levont reached the concert stage as he was then headed off by the manager.

"Can I help you?"

"Can I have a few free tickets for a group of five?" Levont asked.

"Why would I do that? This group has to make money." the manager stated.

"Because Eile Weiss would very much appreciate it if her own brother watched her while she sang." Levont answered.

"If you are her twin brother. If you have any verification, then show them. Otherwise, leave sir." the manager muttered raising his tone a bit.

Levont's reply was simple as he pulled out a picture of himself and Eile together.

The manager looked at the picture, then back to Levont before smiling.

"It'll be a good day for her to see her brother again. I'll have the tickets sent to your group. It would be nice if you can sing beside your sister." the manager said.

"I think I will. Can you hand me the song she will be singing?" Levont asked.

The manager nodded as he called for one of the female backup singers to fetch the song sheets before fetching Eile. She left and returned with the music sheets before leaving to find Eile. During that time, Levont took the robe off as he took off his pack as well and grabbed the music sheets before heading behind the stage.

Soon enough, Levont heard several footsteps and Eile's voice.

"Boss, do you know anyone that has a traveling robe on and where's our fifth person?"

"I have someone special in mind for the fifth person. As for the robe person, no. Not the I know off. Ok then. From the top."

"Must be one of the guys then." Levont muttered as he started to follow Eile singing. When it came to his part, Levont stepped out from the back of the stage and started to sing his part.

(OOC: The song is this one. Eile in this video is Rin (the one with the dolls) Levont in the video is Len (the one with the grey hat and yellow linings))

Eile's eyes widen and turned to see Levont singing beside her with a smile. As soon as the song ended, Eile turned to Levont and hugged him.

"Brother. When did you get here?" Eile asked while releasing him from the hug.

"Just this morning from the docks. I'll be singing with you tonight while a few buddies of mine watching. They should have some traveling robes on them." Levont answered.

Eile nodded with a smile as she and Levont went back to singing that song.

"Are we there yet?"

Already frustrated out of his mind, the carriage driver only nodded curtly as he stared at the road ahead. They had been on the road for a few days, but it felt like months. Regret surfaced in his mind, repeatedly even as he tried to push it away. Who would have thought the famous inventor of Alemannia would be such an abomination? He knew he should have turned the job offer down when he saw the curious name. His wife may not be too happy seeing him at home, but anything, anything would be better than his predicament now.

Scarlet sighed as she slumped back on the cushioned carriage seat. The carriage was a fancy sort, although it was still horse-driven, the seats had all been cushioned and the floor carpeted. No doubt, it was meant to accommodate visiting tourists of good social status. For Scarlet, this was almost an insult. "Ah, blast it all," she muttered. "Who would seat an inventor in such an archaic device?"

"Device? DEVICE?" She said, her voice rising with a prominent tinge of anger that made the driver heave another sigh. Getting up from her seat, she stomped on the carriage, kicked the seats and the walls. Satisfied with her violent outburst, she sat back down, pulling out the document that the Guild had provided her. Glaring at the paper, she read it over a second time although it was already completely memorized. Line Ark, largest city in Acheron. It also had the silliest of names. "Line Ark? Pfft," scoffed Scarlet. She tossed the paper aside, quickly glancing through the many pictures of Line Ark's prominent buildings. To Scarlet, there was little point in reading any further.

What could be more important than finishing Iron Gentleman V2? Apparently, the Guild believed this 'Inventor's Convention' was. And she was so close to finishing the work on Iron Gentleman V2's arms! Scarlet tossed the documents, watching it fall on the carriage floor noisily. She pouted as she brought one leg up on the seat, sitting in a manner unbecoming of a lady. The driver didn't have to look back to have an inkling of how she sat now. The past few days was enough reminder. He was only thankful she didn't try to convert his carriage into some mechanized device as she tried to on the first day.

"Just another day. Hold on, Roberto, hold. On."

Taking a curious glance over his shoulders, he startled himself seeing Scarlet's face right beside his face.

Training

12 o'clock

12 o'clock. Sighted. Firing

The resounding boom of five, large 15cm shells hurtled towards the stationary truck. All around, the remaining boom of the other tanks from the
503rd Schwere Panzerabteilung echoed throughout the plains. The noise was one that no one can forget. From smaller light and medium tanks all the way to the heavy tank Heidemarie commanded and all the way up to land ironclads, all these mechanical monsters were spending the day lobbing heavy pieces of death into the side of a hill littered with charred remains of targets. Heidemarie sat up on the roof of the turret, binoculars glued to her eyes as two of the shells from her platoon missed by several meters. Of course, one 15 cm shell on one truck would have meant that it would be disintegrated anyway, it was the principle of the thing. It meant that her gunners were being sloppy and inaccurate. Instantly, she snatched up the radio piece from the radio man and berated them.

302, 304, 305! What the hell was that!? You missed by meters on a damn stationary target! Fire again, 2 degree correction, double time!

Training and maneuvering continued for a further three hours before the klaxon sounded for the end. The armoured vehicles of the battalion rumbled loudly as they merged into a column, heading back to the depot. Heidemarie sat atop the roof of her Henschel E-100, flipping through the schedule of the battalion. There was a giant chunk of nothing after this training section. In essence, her battalion and the entire division has been put on leave but with nothing she really wanted to do.

Might as well see what could be done around the castle.

It took a further two hours to get to the depot and sort out all the paperwork before everyone was dismissed by the Oberstleutnant and a further hour to get back to the castle. The plush interior halls belied the looming, stone structure. Heidemarie allowed the maid to take the greatcoat and strode straight towards the inner sanctum and towards the Matriarch's study. Without hesitation, Heidemarie gave three solid knocks and waited for a response. Heidemarie was not raised up in the sewers, so she waited for her mother to grant her permission to enter.

Enter.

As the large, wooden, double doors, Heidemarie came face to face with what most would consider an older mirror image of the young woman. The difference was that the lady sat in an antique chair next to the window and was dressed in a long, flowing, white lace dress, more mature with her wonderful blonde hair done up in an intricate fashion.

Lady Mother. I have returned. My Division has been granted leave for an extended period of time. Therefore i shall be within the compound for some time. Is there anything i can do for you?

Lady Helmina Broderica von und zu Baden-Wurttemberg rubbed the bridge of her nose. Her daughter was raised just as her father and grandfather had hoped, but she wondered if she could be a bit more... soft when not performing military duties.

It is good to see you are safe and well Maria. Is it not possible for you to just enjoy a day without serving some purpose? Is it not possible to just sit and enjoy some idle time?

Idleness leads to carelessness. i would feel that i am wasting limited resources

Helmina gave an even deeper sigh. She really did not know what to do with the girl. If she let her, Heidemarie was more than likely to inspect the house guards and the equipment. Perhaps some form of psychology would serve Helmina better than direct request.

Far enough. In that case you can... perhaps visit the Line Ark and research on the latest technology there. Lowe prides itself on being one of the main military hub of Alemannia and we must be ahead of the game should we want to maintain and increase our lead. Go and see if you can learn something new.

Helmina knew her daughter was rather inquisitive when it came to technology and knowledge. Hopefully, sending her to Line Ark would allow her to subconsciously do what she enjoyed most.

Very well Lady Mother. It shall be done. If you will please excuse me.

Wasting no time at all, Heidemarie began preparing to take off again. The mechanics got her steam bike prepared as she readied her own gear. She stuffed her duffle bag with a multitude of gear including survival gear, weapon related items and the like. When all was said and done, Heidemarie tossed the bag into side car seat along with her Gewehr 98a and the accompanying harness before kicking the engine into life and speeding off. Helmina stood at the window of the study and let out another long sigh.

That girl is too ramrod straight... Don't you think so Adolfine?

It is not in my position to speak m'lay

Speak your mind. You have my permission

The head maid paused for a second before continuing

...forgive me for being presmptous, but i do fea for m'lady's prospect of getting married since she lacks a single ounce of feminity, nor a single though outside of duty.

You and I both, Adolfine. You and I both....

Helmina kept her gaze on the every decreasing dot that puttered away into the distance before strolling back into the depths of the castle.

“I... am annoyed,” was all Livith could really say about the matters leading up to her acquisition of the airship. Not very many people seemed to find that her needs or interests marked her own. She had asked rather politely for the small six man crew to let her aboard their ship going to Line Ark. They refused. So she asked if she could have their ship so she could take it to Line Ark. They laughed. Not quite understanding why it was that they were laughing, she simply walked aboard it. Not one that particularly enjoyed being touched or grabbed, she shocked one of them and rendered them unconscious. The other five quickly followed him to the ground.

So now there she was, content with her acquisition of the airship and on her way to the city. However, what she was not content with was just how slow the airship seemed to be going. It was going as fast as it could, but Livith was rather impatient and waiting was one of many things that she did not enjoy doing. As she sat in the captain's chair she came to the startling realization that one of the people she had rendered unconscious was probably going to wake up. Just as she held that thought in her mind, she spun the chair around to find him walking up, rather slowly, to her.

As she ran her hand through her white hair, he glared at her with a look that could quite possibly burn through someone. “There likely isn't a reason to be so upset,” she said, her tone of voice rather “materoffactually”. “I asked for a ride on your airship and you denied me, I merely did what I thought would better suit my needs. You should, in fact, be thankful. I could have killed you rather than leave you and your crew unconscious.”

If his look before looked as if he could stare a hole in her, it now looked as if he could explode. Livith found that many people often looked at her that way. Was it because of the way that she spoke? Nonsense, Livith simply said what needed to be said or told people the truth that they probably needed to hear. This man, like many others, simply couldn't handle being told what he probably needed to hear. As he ran towards her with a wrench drawn, she fired lightning from her fingers and rendered him unconscious once more.

“This may be a rather long trip... I wonder how many times I'm going to have to do that.”

An officer of the Orlinian Empire approached the dreaded Ministry of Development, a very infamous department known for its brilliant advancements of this age and era operated by the equally deadly and infamous inventor Alfred Joseph Hobbs. A few weeks ago, a spy operating for a classified enemy from another country was captured with great effort. By great, attempts were made to prevent her from killing herself such as the capsule pills detected and various sharp objects prevented her from committing suicide to keep the secret of the empire's enemies.

He strutted along while Automatons stood guard through every corridor and every hall of the decadent department. He could not fathom the horrors of what lurked within this dangerous yet wondrous area of Orlina. Alfred Hobbs was a far more interesting figure, having emerged almost years ago as a madman who rose to prominence precisely for his inventions that almost bordered on the magical and physically impossible.

Another would be his controversial means of converting and tinkering with the human body, which was officially forbidden by the government. Unofficially, the Emperor has commissioned the good inventor and magicologist alot of free access to bodies in the form of deathrow inmates and such as this case, spies from the enemy.

Upon arriving at the office of the famed Minister, he was greeted by a floating, minute device.

"Greetings, Officer. As of this time, the Minister is currently conducting his work on the specimen you have given us. He is almost done, so please make yourself comfortable," it spoke, with a female voice. He recognize this device to be definitely a former human, that of Alfred's protege Milena who was dying from an incurable ailment. As per her wish, she was to be immortalized by the good doctor to better serve as his aide in as he would like to call it "Industrializing Evolution". To the Officer's sickening thought, it meant becoming the things he sees before him, Automatons.

Naturally, this movement was thought of as madness by the government but Mr. Hobb's great advancements has also placed Orlina at one of the higher tier countries of the world. Milena the miniaturized Automaton had began to deliver the officer some tea to which he agreed by taking a cup and sipping it. Minutes dragged by as his nerves were tested by the creepy air around him and the near death-like state of the department. Literally no one would work with Alfred, so he had to employ his own Automatons to do the job that many felt was out of their expertise.

Eventually the good doctor emerged from the complex trapdoors leading to his equally complex laboratories within the Ministry.

"Ahh! Tally ho, sir! It appears I have kept you waiting! I apologize for that!" Alfred said, coughing within his mask. The Minister was once a very attractive young man who delved into his family's heritage and snapped from sanity as many saw it due to unforeseen events in his life that delved him into the matter. He appeared jovial and friendly as the officer thought, but his superior had warned him not to be overly friendly with the Minister.

"...It is not an inconvenience, Sire. I am here to oversee the results of what we have tasked you with," he said reluctantly. He chose his words, Alfred noted. Whiping his hands, the Minister layed his glove down, revealing his purposely converted right arm and pulled out a series of notes, covered in blood stains in some before tossing it over to the officer.

"What the hell is this?" he asked as he rummaged the soaked notes.

"Whatever I could record during the interrogation of course! Naturally, as you have given her to me, I have been given free reign to drain this information from her obviously and enact my judgement upon her," he said.

The officer read them all, each detailing whatever prototypes were stolen from her organization right down to where she had sent them to: Line Ark, he rubbed his head in fear, for once their wonderous technology reaches Line Ark, it would be near impossible to call upon infringement without any political scandal errupting between Orlina and the rest of the world.

"Is something the matter?" Alfred asked as he began to change his shirt, revealing his disgustingly converted torso, all half flesh and machine powered by Magitek. The officer could only look away from his host as he studied the notes with care.

"Comrade, we have placed ourselves in a dire situation. I have assessed it and we conclude that we cannot incite a retaliation," he explained.

"You need not worry about this. I am going to Line Ark myself," Alfred said as he changed and snapped his fingers for Milena to summon Automatons to begin packing his things.

"You mean to stop whoever was responsible for stealing our plans?" the officer asked.

"By god no, old chap! That is madness! Whatever this slut has stolen now belongs to them, I mean to teach a lesson!" Alfred explained as he straightened his best signature suit: Black vest, with a long overcoat and a new glove that hid his bionic arm. His cannon perched upon his left shoulder glistened with bright red as he adjusted it.

"Lesson?" the officer asked in a puzzled voice.

"A Lesson." Alfred said with a seething voice drifting between sick enthusiasm and anger while picking up his Magitek powered staff, which the Officer realized was one of Orlina's treasured arsenal and Alfred's source of power: Ultronium. The gigantic trapdoor from which he emerged from openned itself to reveal a feminine Automaton still struggling with her bonds and screams erupting the room. The officer's eyes widened in horror as he looked back to an indifferent Alfred who was but packing his things.

"Minister...?! Could it be that -"

"She was an enemy of Orlina, Comrade. I trust you agree with my judgement that to steal Orlina's future, means that they wish to join in the Industrial Evolution. I but granted this wish after I pried out what we needed to know under false hope of freedom," Alfred said. The female Automaton that was once the former spy twisted anxiously and yelled various obscenities in her native tongue. Alfred could only glance in annoyance as the female Automaton cried and soaked his office with blood.

"This is the difficult part. To allow the upgrades to adjust, we must calm the subject. Once he or she adjusts, we are free to do whatever we want with them. This is the part where I most enjoy: Persuation," Alfred said as he moved his hand over the body of the female Automaton as she helplessly struggled to be free of the bonds. Her screams diluted their speech any further, with a snap of his fingers, the other larger models moved their little sibling away from their sight.

"What will be done to her?" The Officer asked.

"Once she accepts her destiny? Why to work alongside for the good of Orlina! I have carefully manipulated her to working with us under false hope of being restored back to her undesirable fleshling form...Yet we all know that it is impossible. There is no going back for her, the same as the rest of our Glorious Empire once my ideals reaches your Emperor," he said with glee.

"Release me! It burns! Make it stop!!" she screamed behind Alfred and The Officer. Alfred gazed back with indifference and nodded, cooing his subject as if an uncle would a temperamental niece.

The Officer gagged behind Alfred's back in disgust. No way in hell Orlina would approved of such fate for its people and there was no way they would entrust so much power to a madman.

"I leave for Line Ark, to reintroduce her to the public as my new prototype and to find out the enthusiastic fools who found my inventions worthy of theft. As for you, Comrade, You have your report and witness as to what the spy has become. I trust you know your way out," Alfred said as he waved a hand to dismiss his counterpart, preparing to bring his tools as well as the female Automaton for public unveiling at Line Ark. She was his latest line in robotics and it would do well to show the world how far his work has gone.

The Officer said nothing as their madman of a scientist departed with a screaming female automaton, he looked down at the bloodied notes, confused as to what may his report entail and the fate of the spy. Automatons approached him with intent to lead him out of The Ministry of Development's doors. It was the first time in 4 years since Alfred had ventured out beyond Orlina and it would be interesting to see what havoc will be done in his wake in Line Ark. The Officer prayed to the heavens it would not escalate to a full blown war, as Alfred was known for causing with or without intention.

The carriage moved even faster than she had ever seen the moment she got off. There wasn't even an opportunity to wave the driver goodbye before he sped away. Scarlet pouted, wondering why he was in such a hurry. Her attention to that didn't last long, however, as she shifted her focus to the city of Line Ark. It was... A dismal place. There were more people than technological innovations that would have caught her eye. Admittedly, when she heard about an 'Inventor's Convention', she was expecting to see much more innovations. Perhaps some that were revolutionary, just lacking the exposure.

Instead, what she saw were the same devices she had seen in the library of the Guild. Dull, and utterly boring. She sighed aloud as she walked up some steps down the street where her inn was to be. "The finest accommodation, they said," she muttered to herself. "Those fools could have let me accommodate myself at home, with my lovely Iron Gentleman!"

She almost lashed out at a random passer-by, holding back only because she attention was seized by the furnishing of the inn. The Guild had not jest when they referred to the inn as the 'finest'. It's architecture was inspired by the houses of the nobility. Expensive chandeliers adorned the room, as did paintings that seemed over-valued and hardly artistic. Either way, the point was clear to Scarlet. This was an expensive waste of money. Noticing the lady standing in the middle of the room just staring dazedly, the staff finally took initiative to approach her.

"Ma'am? How may I assist you?"

Scarlet slowly shifted her gaze from the walls of the room to the staff. She was a lady of small stature. Young, but possessing an air of maturity that must have come with training. And also very ugly.

"OH MY. NO. JUST. NO!"

The staff stared wide-eyed at Scarlet, watching her back away as if she had seen the scariest visage in her life. All around the two, curious gazes. Curiosity became amusement as they watched Scarlet constantly keeping a distance from the staff as she tried to approach. For a moment, the two kept at it until finally a senior staff intervened. It was then Scarlet was identified and led to the room the Guild had reserved for her.

Eile and Levont Weiss.

After singing a few songs, Eile and Levont smiled as the manager decided to call in a break before the night's concert. From the corner of his plus shaped pupil eyes, Levont spotted the rest of his group with smiles.

"Nice. Looks like they enjoyed the practice." Levont muttered as he waved back to the rest of his archeological dig team.

Eile looked over to Levont's group and smiled. Her ears twitched as she saw Levont's group leave for the bar.

"Are you going with them?" Eile asked looking at her god raced twin brother.

"Nah. They know where I am now. More importantly, we need some open space closed off from the public. Your manager should have a spot like that right? Considering your group and my group are the only people that knows we can use our 'talents'." Levont muttered looking around while picking up Gungnir and Lion's Fang.

Eile nodded as she sought out the manager with Levont following behind her.

"Manager, is there any space behind the stage? My brother wants to see how my 'talent' is coming along." Eile asked putting the emphasis on talent.

The manager nodded with understanding.

"We haven't put the stuff in the back yet for the show tonight. Make it quick though. Even though Line Ark is an island city/state, it is just like Britannia. If the other governments catch wind of you knowing magic, they will stop at nothing to get you Eile and I can't let one of my biggest stars get taken away from me." the manager stated.

"Don't worry about that. I may be an archeologist to Britannia, but I am still a government official in some sense. Any attacks on me or sis here will result on retaliation." Levont muttered as the manager smiled, looking satisfied.

With that being said, the manager led Levont and Eile to the back stage before leaving them. Levont handed Eile her twin Jain swords.

"Let's see how much you have improved since the last time we've seen each other in two years. It will be the same drill. I will create a super hot fire of 1100 degrees Celcius. You are to bring the heat down to either desert temperatures or put the fire out using any methods necessary." Levont muttered as he pointed Gungnir toward Eile.

Several feet away from the tip of his spear, a small but intense fire flickered into life, bringing with it all the heat of a volcano. Eile stepped back slightly as she saw the display while pulling out her swords.

"You improved again brother. But then, with all the fighting you had to do on your dig sites, you had no choice." Eile muttered, raising both swords and pointing it at the fire.

Pillars of water flowed from the ground and collected around Eile before lashing towards the fire. Twenty feets before the fire, all the water that Eile summoned and sent at the fire evaporated as Levont let the fire die out.

"You improved. You slacked on the practice didn't you?" Levont commented looking at Eile while putting his spear away.

"Being an idol does not give me any chance on practicing magic." Eile responded as she stopped the water flow and put her swords away.

"I know. As long as you remember the basics that mom and dad taught us, you'll improve." Levont muttered as he left the back stage with Eile following.

"At least I have enough control to cook with it." Eile retorted sticking her tongue out at Levont who smirked.

Minister Alfred Hobbs, a name that inspires fear through The Technocratic Empire of Orlina's political parties, was leaving his beloved country for the first time. With him in tow is one of his former students turned Automaton going by the name of Milena and their prisoner, a former spy for one of Line Ark's houses now converted into one of his latest works. Many did not question his methods of how he was able to turn flesh into metal, and justly so. He approached the Airship port with his unit of Automatons to guard him as he strode Orlina's magnificent architectures with girth and elegance of a noble gentleman.

The converted one was placed under hibernation to avoid her ramblings being caused and sealed within a crate. At the check-in counter, he was greeted by one of Orlina's generals.

"Minister Hobbs, I have received your report and the country thanks you once again," The General said. However, Alfred strode past him without concern to greet the clerk at the counter for his booking, forcing his counterpart to trail him. "But I urge you not to go with this plan! Line Ark is a political hot seat that we do not want to get involved with!" he hissed. The General placed his hand upon The Minister's shoulders, only to feel a tingling pierce of electricity run through his hand,.

"General! With all due respect, I mean to only unveil our newer prototypes! You mistake my intent!" Alfred finally spoke.

"Be as it may, you are endangering the country just by leaving it!" The General said.

"You are deluded into thinking I would incite war with something as overwhelming as Line Ark. Put your worries aside, I only mean to attend it's Expo," Alfred said.

The General held his hand as he reluctantly let the Minister for Development leave his sight. Alfred sighed as he punched his check-in for the booking towards Line Ark, one of the most infamous cities heralded for its study of Magic and Technology placed into a blender. It would be his first visit since he converted himself into a half man and machine.

"Sir? What do we tell high command?" a soldier who was there to take Alfred back asked his superior.

"Nothing. Minister Hobbs has sent himself on a personal vacation and will be back soon," The General said with terse reluctance.

------

The city was booming with hopeful magicologists and technocrats who aspired to meld both into one. Such was the atmosphere upon arrival at the Line Ark Airship Port, many have taken kind to his contribution for faster arial maneuverability by inventing variously powered engines embedded with Ultronium's core power derived from the mysterious staff. He twirled the complex accessory as he strode with his two Automatons and Milena.

"I have never seen such a wondrous place," she said, floating about in a dancing rhythm.

"It is the same as it ever was, child. Filled with corruption and countless crimes of an unforgivable nature," Alfred said as they strode along. Many have taken to gaze upon Alfred's Automatons and Milena as well, never seeing such beings in their midst before. Apparently his methods for creating such advancements have not been leaked to the public yet and for good reason, if they knew his experimentation and the true nature of these Automatons they would easily charge him with Crimes Against Humanity and eventual execution. However, try as they may, Orlina would never see him fall after all his magnificent inventions and added Magicologistic insights imbued the Empire with wondrous advancements.

"Minister Hobbs! Good to see you, comrade!" An aide to the Orlinian Empire's Embassy had greeted him as they left the Airship port.

"Good day, old chum!" Alfred greeted with a jovial vibe. Milena remained stationary as she observed them.

"Why have you arrived to Line Ark without prior notification?" The aide asked.

"Why I would simply like to gaze on the changes of the city! What's more, the immediate conventions wherein I may present my latest line of Automatons," He said with casual tone. The aide looked at the side with discomfort, it is apparent that like all officials in Orlina politics, know of Minister Hobb's darker aspects of his creations.

"Ahh yes...Well, Minister you see we only merely have an Inventor's Convention for aspiring young minds. The Line Ark Expo has yet to be announced and even then, there are fees to consider with entering the official Expo that displays all of the world's greatest inventions. If you wish to enter the Inventor's Convention, I suggest you do so at the soonest," The aide said.

"Hmmm.. Terrible predicament. I was expecting the Line Ark Expo to be in active efficiency as this was the season..." he said, looking down. The aide looked at Minister Hobbs with fear.

"No matter!" He jumped with sudden delight. "Leave the Expo, I believe the Convention would be a fine field for my latest line," he said.

"Comrade, I suggest you clear the latest release for test before you do so," The aide said uncomfortably, hoping to avert the potential issues that may arise with Orlina's inventor.

"Indeed so, I will have to calibrate her for conversion before I do so," he said. "I wish to retire for the moment before I unveil the latest line," Milena floated with neutrality as she observed the discomforted aide.

"Indeed, sir. I would suggest that we accommodate you at the Embassy? We have the finest facilities," he said.

"That won't be necessary," Alfred said. " I will reside where most of those who would participate with this ... Convention you speak of," he said firmly.

"As you wish, comrade. But know our Embassy is always open to you," he said with little arguement.

"I am well aware of that. Now, if you please, escort me to the abode where they accommodate them," Alfred said.

"Indeed," with that, they followed the aide to the well designed vehicle no doubt crafted from his designs. His Automatons were ordered to ship the converted one separately as they boarded along with him. In the privacy away from their host, Milena broke her neutrality.

"Sir, do you think they should at least know what our intentions are?" She asked him.

"Of course not. As far as our Glorious Empire knows, we are away on leave to unveil a new Automaton," he said. Milena looked at him again with doubt.

"What do you plan to do then? Now we are at the most advanced cities of the world, without clues as to who sent our creation, where is our lead?" She asked.

"That remains to be seen," Alfred said as he eyed his magical staff with patience. Fate has led him this far down the road, and for sure it shall not fail him this time.

------------------

Upon arrival at the Inn wherein they were hosting Inventors for the Convention. It was a magnificent structure filled with beautiful furnitures, lavish areas and well decorated paintings trailed the Inn. It was rather small, but was ranked a 5-star amenity.

"OH MY. NO! JUST NO!" a female voice yelled.

Alfred spun around to see that a woman yelling in a prima donna voice, akin to that of one of those plays he was accustomed to seeing as a young boy. He and Milena continue to observe the scuffle until a senior staff intervened to lead her away to her room, apparently having been identified as one of the prime inventors.

"Who does she think she is?" Milena asked as she buzzed to his side.

"A work of art, that is what," Alfred said. The luscious red hair, well toned body and near brainy look was perfected with her attitude that oddly sent vibes of desire within the steeled man. She had the attributes that he longed for to reconstruct in a female Automaton. The spy he forcefully converted prior was just a meager prototype that would be perfected on in all of humanity someday. But this odd feeling of laying eyes upon that woman, drove him to a small liking to her. "Perhaps she would agree to a voluntary conversion, my dear. Evolution would be so beautiful if done unto her," he said. Milena tweaked a little, showing signs of discomfort.

"Sir, no one would ever volunteer for it as much as I did," she said.

"Hmm... Distractions can come afoot later, for now, we settle in and allow our converted creation to adjust to her new surroundings," Alfred said. A bellboy arrived to greet them.

"Good afternoon, sir! How may I help you?" he asked.

"I am Minister Alfred Hobbs. These are my Automatons and my assistant, Milena. I would seek to be accommodated with the Inventors Guild members area, as I am participating myself to unveil my latest invention," he said. The bellboy nodded and returned to his desk. Minutes passed by before approval was granted and an official notary signed by the good Minister to be accepted. The supervisor arrived as well to greet him.

"Minister Hobbs! We have received word from the Embassy of the Technocratic Empire of Orlina! Why participate in a dreary Convention when the Expo is just around the corner?" he asked Alfred.

"Pay no mind, boy. Just get me a room that is for this damned Convention! Preferably with the redhead you have been arguing with just now," Alfred said impatiently while dismissing the young man who interrupted his fantasy of converting that redheaded woman. With a nod, the supervisor went off to approve his request. It was rare to turn down an official of a country, especially that of one of the world's greatest minds in their doorstep.

Frederich Franz von Tann
The Expo

Frederich was happy that his custom modified vehicle was successfully sold to his customer "Are you not going to the convention, Fred?"

"I'm a repairman, not an inventor." Frederich said nonchalantly, sipping his tea as the two sat on the porch. The customer, named François de Montmorency, was sitting alongside him. He was a well-built man, with short brown hair, taller than Frederich is, but well-groomed as if he were tailored to business. "Don't be so modest, you certainly have the qualifications for being an inventor. You just have to find something that you would do differently than anyone else." After a sip of tea, he added, "Like that woman, er... Scarlet Blaze!"

"Er...I wouldn't mind having the same skill as her, but isn't she quite eccentric?" Frederich said, remarking on that quality she had from the last time she was mentioned.

"Don't you mean crazy?" François chuckled at that remark, which caused Frederich to shrug his shoulders. He was not the type to really be saying that kind of thing behind a persons back. Just to quiet down François' chuckling, "Alright, I'll go."

"R-Really?" François said, flabbergasted at the suddenness of Frederich's decision, the latter just finishing his tea. "Well, if you say that I would need to find something that I could do differently from anyone else, then I will need the inspiration to do it. When will this be?"

"It's going to be tonight, 6:00 PM, I'll come pick you up, my treat." François said confidently, placing his hand on Frederich's shoulder. "You are going to enjoy this, I assure you that."

"Ja, ja, n
atürlich werde ich..." (Yeah, yeah, of course I will...)

OOC: What exactly feeds the steam engines?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heidemarie Heinrike Brodericas von und zu Baden-Wurttemberg
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Surprisingly enjoyable...

The steam motorcycle was an incredible invention. Countless miles fly by with the wind fluttering through her hair and the scenery whizzing by in 360 degrees. It was completely different from the confines of the metal carcass of her tank, which provided a fraction of a fraction of this view. The sensation added a whole new meaning of freedom which would probably only be superseded by that of flying with the Flyers. Heidemarie longed for the day she can acquire her own flyer and soar through the sky. Fortunately for her, given that she lives in Lowe, that wouldn't actually be hard. Regardless of her desires, the rhythmic putting of the engine, the buffering wind and the green and blue of the planet kept her occupied enough until it started to turn smoggy and dark with the spires and towers of Line Ark beginning to grow on the horizon. A slight frown formed on Heidemarie's face as she neared the city borders. Never has she seen a city which amazed her more with the innovation and the variety and mix of culture and races and no other city has ever disgusted her more than the mix of scum and villainy as a result of the very same mix of culture and races. For one, the straight laced Heidemarie found herself conflicted with feelings of fascination and loathing, but still, she drove diligently into the hive. Security in was rather... interesting and time consuming. A captain of the 503rd Schwere Panzerabteilung from Alemannia in full military uniform and combat load is very touchy, given the neutrality of the city, but eventually, everything was sorted and Heidemarie drove her bike into the main thoroughfare of Line Ark. Slightly indignant at this point, her mood wasnt improved when her motorcycle ran out of steam, both figuratively and literally and forced her to pull in at the closest fuel provider. The service boy ran out instantly at the sight of Heidemarie.

Woah. Awesome rahde....Ah

The boy only looked up when Heidemarie dismounted

Uh.. sorry Ma'am. No disrespe'.

Never mind. I need it filled, immediately.

Yes! Raght on it!

As the boy got to work on her motorcycle, Heidemarie leaned against the sidecar, scanning the streets before the boy tried to make light conversation.

So... what is a ranked officer like you doing here Ma'am. You look lahk you com' from somewhre fanceh. Dat's ah Alemaahniah unifahm, lahk frah watchyoumacallit... Lawm? Lawhe?

A long sigh escaped from her nose as she despaired over the boy's poor comprehension of language. Still, no reason to be nasty.

That would be pronounced Lou Ver, and yes. I did hail from there. What of it?

The boy was used to silence or brutish and vulgar responses, but this lady's word was normal enough, but her tone and the eloquancy of the way she spoke was harsh, succint and it felt foreign. He stammered like a stunned mullet before he tried responding.

Ah, uh, erm...Oh, nuttin'. Was juz curious. I mean, forgive meh....

Feeling a twinge of guilt for her tone on the young boy, Heidemarie decided to throw him a bone. Something broad and general.

Sigh....I guess you can call this... a holiday. I have personal interest in technology, as you can see with this motorcycle and since this is the land of innovation, I assume I can expect something new and interesting.

The boy perked up.

Oh! Tha' mus' mean you are ahttendin' tha "Inventa's Convenshun" den?

Now it was Heidemarie's turn to perk up. It was something that might fill what Lady Mother had wanted.

Go on...

He could hear her voice become a bit more neutral and that must mean he did something good. Encoraged by this, he continued to rattle on.

Its a gatherin' of all dese eggheads that go n' show off thei' new invenshuns. I've snuck in a few tahms and whoo whee, do dey have some doozys in there. Cookin stuff, chems, light doohickys, weapns and even sometahms, walkin metal thingymajigs. If dats your thin',that is definialy a mus' go!.... oh! Its done Ma'am! That be $50 (subject to change once we work out the currency and stuff)

With the motorcycle filled up Heidemarie remounted and without looking, handed the boy a single $50 and another $10.

Keep the ten. Good information and work deserves reward.

As the motorcyle idled, Heidemarie pondered where she should go for accomodation for this convention, the boy's voice piped up again.

If yous lookin' for a place ta stay, i sugges' this Inn that a lotta da eggheads are stayin at. Mah friend works der as a bellboy and he seen lotta dem.

How do i go about getting there?

A further three minutes of pointing and deciphering the boys incredibly thick accent, Heidemarie got an address and directions. As the boy waved and bowed, Heidemarie took an extra second to pull another $10 and gave it to the boy. $20 was quite a tip, but she has gotten a lot from this boy's information and like she said, good work deserves apporpriate pay. The moment the boy took the note from her, she pulled away and made her way straight towards the Inn. The boy's information was already coming in handy as the windy streets would have costed her several times the mere 5 minutes it took for her to get there. Luckily, the establishment was one of quite high standard and there was a valet at the front. It wasn't too bad. Giving her motorcycle to the valet, Heidemarie hoisted her Gewehr 98a onto her shoulder with the pack and before she reached her duffle bag, a bellboy grabbed it. Before he could even hoist it a meter, Heidemarie's hand shot out and with a vice iron grip, grabbed the boy's wrist.

That is not necessary.

The poor bellboy winced, both from the strong grip and that tips were what he relied on. Heidemarie figured that out after a few seconds and pulled a $5 note and handed it to him before heading in. As the service boy had said, the lobby was filled with scientists and inventor types. She was basically sticking out as much as a tree in a desert. Pushing away her unease, she put on her garrison cap and made her way to the counter.

"OH MY. NO. JUST. NO!"

From the center, a rather flamboyant woman with scarlet hair appeared to be distraughted over something. From her perspective, it reminded Heidemarie of the spoilt tantrums and exaggerated responses of some of the noblewomen of the court. Letting her eye stay on it for a second longer, something else caught her eye. From the door, someone she actually knew of, even by reputation only, waltzed in. Personally, she'd rather not have met him, given his reputation of eccentricity, but there was nowhere to go and she stuck out really badly. It was Alfred Hobbs. A minister from Orlina and just like the rumours say, he was wierd. Currently right now, he was flanked by two automatons. As much as she hated to admit it, despite being creepy as hell, he was brilliant. That wasn't important right now as the front desk, just like the check points, made it its mission to hinder her.

Ma'am, while we appreciate your patronage, your... possession seems to be rather concerning.

If you are talking about my rifle and my pistol, there is no need to worry. I do not see what makes it so concerning.

Well... given your attire, it is a military weapon. Whilst we do not suspect you of any ill intention, i cannot say for sure for the other guest. If you do not mind, we can keep it in the coat room?

Heidemarie's voice become derisive and harsher

Ridiculous. You have inventors running around with dangerous compounds and machinery that only god knows if they are safe or not yet your concern is with a single weapon in a hand of a professional in quite easily traceable outfit?

Its not so much the weapon, but we don't want to be responsible if anything happened in the off chance.

By now, Heidemarie had no patience with arguing and pandering to these "what if" situations, given the "not-so-stellar" crime rate in the city. It was something she wanted to avoide, but sometimes, there was a need to name drop and abuse the power she has.

In that case, should you find yourself having to deal with any incident directly relating to this rifle, feel free to pursue House Brodericas von und zu Baten Wurttemberg and bring it up with them.

The desk clerk had a confused face as Heidemarie scribbled furiously at the form, slammed the pen down. Instantly, after glancing down at the form, he backed off with his hands in resignation, finally connecting the dots.

Keys.

A hand still up, the clerk handed over a key, in which Heidmarie took and stride off towards the elevator and amde her way to her room. The clerk's colleague leaned over and whispered to him.

You do know the other technocratic nations can't invade here right?

Yea, but military might isnt the only way to destroy someone... Best to avoid tangling with a family that has enough industrial relationships to produce landships and flyers for a Technocratic nation.

Eile and Levont Weiss

The manager saw the pair walking back from the back stage. Waving the pair over, he handed Levont a piece of paper.

"Since you are in town, why not take in the local attractions? There's an inventor's convention here that's going on right now. Our group is the main music attraction for those who want to relax after seeing the stuff and it'll be on at night anyways." the manager said as Levont started thinking.

"Oh the convention. I never liked technology too much. A lot of new stuff that never comes to the general public until three years later." the cat girl idol muttered as her ears flattened.

"Hmm. I think I'll take a look into the convention. Just in case one of the items on display ends up being pointed at my face, I would like to know what I'm dealing with. Do you guys have a place to set my stuff down yet?" Levont asked.

The manager nodded as he went to his pack and searched it until he pulled out a piece of paper.

"That's the location of the hotel we are staying at. It's super fancy so don't break anything. Eile, you have the day until the concert tonight. Take it easy." the manager stated as he left the pair.

Eile perked up at that.

"Come on brother. Let's get to the hotel, dump our stuff there and head to a restaurant." Eile chirped as she put her jian swords on her hips while Levont put his spear on his back and started to make his way to the hotel.

Soon enough, the pair reached the hotel as they entered it. It was every bit of fancy as the manager stated as Levont looked around. Eile smiled at Levont's reaction as she looked at the people. Her eyes fell on three specific people. One had a military hat on. Another had fiery red hair and a ready 'unique' personality. The last one had two ladies beside him and made her feel nervous. Levont noticed Eile's silence and started to look around, noticing the three people. While the red head, he knew nothing about, the other two were a different story as he kept a hand on his spear.

"Brother? What's wrong?" Eile asked.

"The military lady and the man with cyborgs are notorious." Levont muttered using the archeologist slang for automatons.

"Who are they?" Eile asked as her tail swung closer to her.

"The military lady is Heidemarie Heinrike Brodericas von und zu Baden-Wurttemberg. A competent leader of her unit. Several archeological sites I defended was attacked with some members from her unit which were close to the boarder of Alemannia. The other is Minister Alfred Hobbs. A nutcase with automatons. I heard rumors that he converts people into loyal cyborg. I thought they were false until the Saadia dig I just came from. We barely defended that dig sight and only because of our talent. Of the two, be careful of Hobbs. Anyone who turns living people into automatons is insane on some levels." Levont muttered.

Eile nodded as she pulled out her room's key and pulled on Levont's hand while her tail swung side to side. More at ease after Levont spoke.

Scarlet was out of the room in almost the same instance she stepped in. She would have returned to the main lobby without the key if the senior staff had not persisted in his attempts to pass it to her. Grabbing the key and once the staff was out of sight, she tossed it in the opposite direction without care. "To hell with keys," she hissed, making sure the staff would not have heard it. She watched the key land noisily, scraping against the marble ground as it made some distance before coming to a stop. Scarlet grinned widely, as if she had just made a great accomplishment.

Finally turning back to the main lobby, she curtseyed the nearest stranger who had seen everything she did. Then she noticed the staff, who were staring at her slack-jawed. She only had a smile for them before she decided to move on with her business... Which she immediately realise was almost non-existent until the Convention happened. And it wouldn't happen any time soon. She wandered to the centre of the main lobby instinctively, standing in the middle of it looking at nothing in particular until finally the staff approached her again.

"M-Ms Scarlet?"

Scarlet was cautious as she fixed her gaze on the staff. It wasn't the same lady from earlier. An evident sigh of relief escapes her lips as she looked questioningly at the girl. This one had much better facial features, but she spoke with an stutter that seemed to suggest a lack of confidence. Or maybe, fear. Her eyes reminded Scarlet of a deer in headlights. Except, she didn't know how a deer looked like. Probably, it would look like this girl here.

"Oh, hello, deer."

The girl nods, putting on a smile. My! She loves the acknowledgement! Scarlet was growing more curious until her attention was taken by the other potential patrons that had entered the Inn, particularly two individuals - twins. The boy she could not recognize, but the girl struck a chord in her memory. Where had she seen her? Scarlet stared at the two for a moment, then her eyes widened in fear. She was a singer. Quickly turning back to the staff, who had been speaking the whole time while looking down at her feet, Scarlet hurried her.

"Deer, please, lead me where I should be!"

The girl flinched but quickly gathered her wits about her. "T-then, Lady Scarlet, shall I-," she began to say, but Scarlet interrupted her.

"Just do it!"

The girl began to lead her towards the elevator. As soon as it came, she was directed to a conference room. Inside, she was surprised to see a crowd of well-dressed men and women - some dressed better than others. "This is the holding area for Inventors and guests attending the Inventors' Convention," the girl said. "Some of them are prominent Inventors, others, investors, noblemen and noblewomen. We wish you a pleasant time. I shall now take my leave."

Scarlet stared at the girl curiously as she exited. How was it that she could speak so fluently when excusing herself?

But that was not the foremost concern. Out of the frying pan and into the open fire; standing amongst strangers, Scarlet realised to her horror, she still had no other business to go about! She slunk towards the wall, making for the corner of the wall. She was wearing a tea gown but it didn't stop her from sitting down on the ground there as she pondered the next steps she would take until the Convention began, ended and she was on her way home.

(OOC: @Nobless Oblige Kev! I had to put a reason why he converted the spy as well as wasting his time in Line Ark! You can use this for your upcoming plots if you wish! >__<; sorry man it's quite tl;dr! @Mikasa ! Your move! :p)

Alfred was amazed by the efficiency of the hotel staff who worked on such short notice for the Minister. As one of the Government representatives of The Empire, it has to be met with expectation. His business continues, as he ordered his Automatons to unload the prisoner unto the table as the case she was sealed in released itself and converted into an automatic table, revealing the imprisoned female Automaton still breathing and almost asleep. Lifting Ultronium, Alfred tapped the cask's abdomen to awaken her. The converted female awoken with a startled shock to be greeted by her tormentor.

"It can't be..." she hissed under her new body. " What did you do to me?! You mad fuck! What the hell is this?!" she asked as she looked in horror at her horrifically converted metallic body. Alfred hushed her as he gently patted her head before clearing his throat.

"A Conversion Replacement Operation, my dear," he said with casual tone. "As you can see," he said as he tapped her metallic body strapped to the makeshift table, unsealing the insides of her body to reveal nothing but pure machinery and cogs churning in replacement by what was once organs and flesh. Perfected to the details. "I took extra care to secure your nerves and sealed them with the wiring and steel. You are truly one of my marvelous creations," he said. True to fact, she was the first Automaton to be crafted in this form in the past 2 months wherein The Empire busied him with the treasury for purchasing more Ore and Magicite used to power his less stellar inventions rather than devoting time to perfect humanity's next step. This no doubt was to discreetly stir him away from making further scandals leak outside of The Empire of humans being used to become Automatons and serve them freely.

She did not know what to say, despair and pain overtook her by what was the consequences of Orlina if they had crossed The Empire and she was a steady example by what they would do to her rather than put her to death.

"Now now now...You don't have time to grieve. You had failed to give my superiors what they want but I offer you a chance; revenge for your previous employers by allowing me to enact it? Or your mind completely erased like your brothers before you," he said with a sharp voice as the other taller male-looking Automatons looked down on her along with their creator. The former spy sighed as she tried hard to hide the emotions that fell upon her.

"If I do as you ask, can you undo this madness?" she asked, this time her voice was swollen and broken.

Alfred's eyes lit with delight. "Of course." He ran his hand on her metallic thighs right towards her mechanical parts within, Milena knew that his offer in exchange for her confession was to be a lie. But she knew her Teacher and Employer to be a better man, though in darker times like these, even she cannot predict the thoughts of The Minister.

"I'll tell you everything I know then..." she began.

----

Alfred and Milena left the room after what felt like an hour, naturally his look was filled with thought at what he was debriefed by the former spy. Screams can be heard. "You gave your word! Undo this! Please!" The Doors were sealed before the spy's histeria could reach the halls of the Inn as he adjusted his hearing contraptions that replaced his ears. It appears convincing her of her new body had failed her and would have to resort to drastic measures before their cover is blown.

"She took it rather well," Alfred said.

"That was also a rather telling information," Milena noted as she floated idly by her teacher. "I am glad we did not note it down lest we recieve more trouble from the higher departments," she said.

"Indeed. A mysterious plot for destabilization and capitalism that stands to ruin greater minds such as myself and others? Not to mention sending out foolish spies like this poor woman for me to tear and rebuild? Such an offer is kind enough, it is as if they sent this as a formal invitation and we have fallen right unto their plot," Alfred said. It was their plan, to pull him out of his homefield and right into a neutral zone wherein The Empire would do little to assist their greatest minds. "It appears we have a thickened plot that needs plucking and dissecting and it is without a doubt that this spy was the first of many no doubt." Alfred said. A plot that threatens to shake Line Ark and another to ruin each of the greatest Empire's brilliant scientific minds for a mysterious reason intrigued the Minister. They may be far from home, yet this is a chance to prove Orlina's might through his machinations alone. He will tend to this challenge, and see to it that his Industrial Evolution peak at these oncoming times.

Stressed from the events told to him and the next procedure of implanting a memory wipe on the spy was putting the good Minister at his edge.

"I feel I must proceed towards the ballroom. There appears to be a registry and gathering for the inventors lot before proceeding with the Convention. Do you wish to join me?" he asked his floating mini-Automaton.

"I believe it is not required of me, Sir. I think I have to recharge my floating Magicite," she said, noting her floating capabilities are waning, he nodded.

"You know dear, I could outfit you with an actual body... I am sure the disease that ravaged your flawed flesh is now cleared," he said.

"No, Sir Hobbs. Until I am certain, I will remain in this dimutive form and serve you. I fear having a bigger casing means less management of what remnants of the disease lingers within my brain..." she said in a shy voice.

"Nonsense. Once we uncover this conspiracy, I will have Line Ark's finest doctors and chemists stabilize your beautiful mind enough to remain on a body worthy of such," He said tersely, as if a guilt ridden father attending to his ill daughter was present between teacher and student.

"Your words reach kindly, Sir... I appreciate you still trying to save me despite living like...this..." she said with that of a soft tone rather than her formal, professional voice.

"Hah! You forget that the world still calls me a madman. But what I do, I do for the good of the future. Begone, little miss! An Official must make his presence known!" With a nod and wink from those hollowed eyes that would only show warmth to his student, Alfred Hobbs departed for the Ballroom Hall of the Inn. Without a doubt, various business men. professors, investors and senators of various countries will be there to greet him and no doubt inquire about his so called "silly" attempt at glory seeking by attending such a dreary convention rather than The Expo of Line Ark. Upon arrival, The red haired woman he saw prior this afternoon had made her presence known, yet now wearing a Tea Gown for such a ceremony.

"Minister Hobbs! We are so glad you came! We thought you would not be attending!" One of the groups of business men called out to him.

"Minister Hobbs! How goes the political climate of Orlina?"

"Minister!"

"Minister!"

It appears he was late on arrival to this gathering, judging by how annoying every man and woman in the room who knew of Orlina called out to him like a distressed child that needed pampering. His Shoulder Cannon adjusted accordingly as he held his staff, Ultronium as if a fine class Gentleman appearing in a ball and strode with elegance past the guests. Most of them would greet him on his way towards the female. Landing with a loud thud to draw away unwanted fools from speaking with him, he coughed quietly to gather her attention.

"Excuse me, Madame... I believe you are alone this evening. Could I entertain you with a drink? Better yet, with a small chat?" He said, breaking the ice with the strange female as he swung his free hand to grab two ornamented glasses of beverages from a passing waiter before offering one to her. "My name is Minister Alfred Joseph Hobbs of The Technocratic Empire of Orlina. I have never beheld your presence before, Miss --? "

Free Time...

Heidemarie made her way into her room without meeting a single soul, which might as well be beneficial for everyone considering she was in a slightly indignant mood. The key slid smoothly into the door and upon entering, Heidemarie couldn't really fault anything with the room they had provided her. Sure it was a bit too gaudy for her militaristic taste, but it was a far cry from sleeping bags and makeshift tents. With little more than several sets of her uniform and her gear in her duffel bag, all she needed to do was to secure it and then toss it into the wardrobe. The next five or so minutes was spent freshening herself up and surprisingly, her outfit was quite pristine considering she rode quite far in them. Just in case, Heidemarie dusted her greatcoat and changed into a fresher set of uniform. Several knocks came from the doorway as she was adjusting the last parts of her uniform. Opening the wooden door, a rather small smart looking hotel staff stood with a platter with a letter on top in one hand.

What is this?

A telegram from Lowe from House Brodericas von und zu Baden-Wurttemberg, Ma'am.

From the castle?

Yes Ma'am. Also, there is a congregation down in the ballroom for those involved in the convention, should you be interested.

Thank you then. Before you go, please take this uniform to the wash. I will provide you specific information as to how it is to be done. Do not damage it.

Very well Ma'am.

Heidemarie quickly scribbled down some instructions for the staff to take to the washers. Once he received it along with a further $5 tip, the staff bowed and made his way back towards the elevator. Expecting some form of important instructions or information, it turned out it was just her mother telling her to take her time as her division's redeployment has been further delayed and that there was no need to rush back. Tossing it aside now that it is useless, Heidemarie pondered on what to do. She really didn't want to pander to the staff, but perhaps walking around with her rifle out was going to be too much of a trouble than she wanted. With that, she slipped the rifle into its scabbard and slipped into the horizontal straps pouches which held the other additional gear for the weapon. Again, a locking cover strap is looped over the opening and locked and secured into place before she stashed and secured it with her pack in the wardrobe. Satisfied, even though it is against her better judgement, its not going anywhere. With that done, Heidemarie strapped on her luger and her harness on her smock and belt before tossing on her greatcoat. The only thing that is out and in open view is her officers crop that is now strapped to her outer belt and harness. Garrison cap on, she was now presentable and began to make her way down to the ballroom, locking the door behind her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heidemarie was definitely not the first to arrive, given how there were only a few people lingering outside of the ballroom, chattering. That meant that the other guests have made their way into the actual room. Without hesitating any further Heidemarie made her way into the room. Of course, there was a loud mixture of chatter and
laughter once the double door opened and the lighting was too bright for her liking. Still, she strode in regardless. Amongst the frilly dress and suits, her greatcoat really stood out. The more...commercial inventors and business people scrunched their nose at her, thinking she was obviously lost and not belonging here. However, the military sector of the crowd at the very least, could recognise the Alemmanian uniform, if not her. She didn't mind conversing with the inventors, but the business people and the noblity that came over was annoying. They were all trying to garner favour one way or the other and had nothing technologically to contribute to her mission to investigate new technology. Over the few people around her, Heidemarie's heart sank a notch when she spotted Minister Hobb, who was also attending and the scarlet, hysterical lady this afternoon. She found solace in that Hobbs seemed interested in the lady, which meant that there was probably no chance of interaction between herself and him. As the talking droned on, Heidemarie remembered something that she had wanted to look into. With a clearing of her throat, she silenced the multiple people around her and asked clearly and succinctly.
Ahem. Do any of you inventors have any experience or innovations in regards to road motorcycles?
Hahaha. Surely you jest, Ms Broderica. The combat bikes for Alemmania is one of the best. After all, my uncle's cousin's brother in law manufactures the springs for them. Top grade they are. I mean, THEY are almost as good as mine, if you don't mind me saying.
I was talking in reference to customisation of road motorcycles.
The tinkering of engine parts is the job of engineers. We strive for much grander things than just petty oil changes and the like unlike those over glorified mechanics.
Bah, none of the peons can afford them. Personally, i see motorcycling as a bit brutish. If you are to travel, you travel in style, like in one of my cars.
There was more laughter after that comment, but that irked Heidemarie, particularly the last man. Biking was one of her more enjoyed activity and she was actively interested in modifying her bike, despite her lack of knowledge. The constant degrading of this small interest made her become increasingly hot under the collar, surprising even herself. She had to actively remind herself of military discipline. In rebuttal, she made a slightly snarky counter and unconsciously made a bit of a scene, due to her irritation.
In essence, none of you have the knowledge of doing so. Is there even anyone here that is even capable of taking apart a motorcycle without destroying the damn thing?
"Yes, first, I shall take apart the Iron Gentleman's head."
Scarlet was uttering to herself, ignoring the occasional stares. No doubt some of the investors recognized her; it was hard not to, given her striking hair colour. However, with her sitting in such unrefined manner and to speak to herself with such rabid fanaticism, it was just as hard to approach her. Several would still try, nonetheless, no risk, no gain after all. Their efforts would prove meaningless as they returned without even the slightest acknowledgement. It was like they were never there to her in the first place.
"Take apart the head... Stuff it with candy.. It'll be a SWEET idea! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
She laughed for quite a while, gradually subsiding into giggles then the occasional random chuckling. Then a huge sigh as she once again realized how bored she had been. Thinking about the Iron Gentleman only reminded her about how unwilling she was coming to Line Ark. She hugged her legs close, deciding to wait until everyone decides to shut up and leave. She would have continued doing so if not for a voice that interrupted her. Initially dismissing it as one of the many that rambled on in this room, she eventually came to realize something was different about this person.
She had entirely missed out most of what he said as he approached her. It mattered little. His appearance was more appealing than his words. What was he? Scarlet could not believe her eyes... THE IRON GENTLEMAN?! For the first time in the room, she got up, to the surprise of the investors hoping to see the great Minister suffer the eccentricity of this unusual lady. Thus birthed a new understanding, that birds of the same feather flocked together - just as the lady was eccentric, so was the Minister, and so they attracted the other. Or perhaps she was a scheming lady who knew her people well. Rumours were already beginning to spread as Scarlet stared at the Minister without a care for his words.
So fascinated was she that when the drink was offered she was more busy examining his appendages, and the rather imposing shoulder cannon. Then, suddenly struck by the realization that the drink being offered was a message of some sort, she thought it wise to introduce herself. "I'm Scarlet," she said, as she circled around the Minister, examining the shoulder cannon. It reminded her of the convention that introduced her to military inventions. The curiosity, the fascination, the awe; those feelings tossed and turned within her, creating a profound sense of excitement that made her heart pick up its pace.
And she could only think of one other individual that could do this to her...
"Are you the Iron Gentleman?"
Friedrich Franz von Tann
Familiar Places, Familiar Faces
It would be a few hours before the pair arrived at the expo at the center of the city. Friedrich, trading in his mechanic gear for more formal wear, his olive green vest replaced with a black longcoat jacket, a small bronze gear that used to belong to his father over one of the pockets on the left side of his chest. François of course waved and showed off as the pair made their way towards the ballroom.
It was still remarkably quite early, and their were few people around the general area. Two people caught François' eye. One was of the Iron Gentleman himself, Minister Alfred Hobbs of Orlina, who was talking to Endison Scarlet Blaze, much to the scary "pee-pants" look that François was giving. For Friedrich, while he has heard of Hobb's reputation, he wasn't afraid, to show fear was to just feed to the reputation.
"As soon as you're done making that face, I'll go and talk with some of the people around, try and get to know some people." With that Friederich left François to his own devices. He wouldn't have to move far before a familiar voice would sound out to make a scene.
In essence, none of you have the knowledge of doing so. Is there even anyone here that is even capable of taking apart a motorcycle without destroying the damn thing?
Friedrich turned around to see a familiar figure dressed in the Alemanni Army Uniform. It was the Hauptmann (Captain), Heidemarike Brodericas von und zu Baden-Wurttemburg. Walking towards her, at least to help her save face, he spoke. "I know a thing or two, and I'd be willing to help an old friend out." Friedrich said calmly. "Just try to calm down a little, after all, these people are just glory hounds looking for their place in the sun." Friederich said softly, out of earshot of anyone so as to not insult them too much.
Levont and Eile Weiss
After dropping Levont's pack off in Eile's room, the god/catgirl twins headed back out to the lobby where a few people converged before heading into a room. Levont nodded as he entered the room. Eile only sighed as her cat ears drooped a bit.
Machine. Machines were everywhere as Levont made his way through, taking note of each attraction there was. Eile on the other hand.
*Yawns* "Did you finish up yet? This place feels wierd." Eile muttered as she looked around.
"It's nothing too major so far. Most of the technology here now is based off of previously existing stuff." Levont muttered as he looked around. His eyes briefly scanned The firehead girl and Hobbs in a corner.
"Hmm." Levont muttered as he stopped for a second.
"What's wrong brother?" Eile asked looking at Levont before bumping into someone.
This someone had a military attire on and was also speaking to another person.
"Oh. I'm sorry for bumping into you." Eile muttered as she looked at the woman while her tail froze straight during the bump.
"Eile?" Levont asked as he pulled his eyes from the pair to Eile.
"Oh great. Heidemarie" Levont whispered looking at the military garbbed woman that his catgirl twin bumped into. Thankfully the noise of the convention drowned out his last comment as he walked over to Eile.
Heidemarie Heinrike Brodericas von und zu Baden-Wurttemberg
New and familiar faces...
"I know a thing or two, and I'd be willing to help an old friend out."
Heidemarie turned to that voice and was faced with a tall Pheonician. As a noble and as a soldier, Heidemarie has seen her fair share of people and for a moment, she looked quisitively at him. Old Friend? Was he talking about her? She racked her brain for any idea as to who he was, but through a slightly distorted squinting view, the black longcoat did add a particular familiarity to him. An Alemanni familiarity.
Ah. Unteroffizier Franz von Tann. An incredible coincidence to see you here. These gentlemen here had the ga.....
Friedrich leaned in even closer and muttered softly
"Just try to calm down a little, after all, these people are just glory hounds looking for their place in the sun."
Heidemarie didnt notice it until now, but her crop was in her hands and she was bending it in frustration. The Brodericas were quite well known for their seriousness and their fiery temper once angered. It was lucky for Heidemarie that Friedrich reminded and reeled her in. Taking a deep, calming breath, she steadied her voice, though a tremble of irritation and snark still lingered.
Well, it seems one must rely on one's own when things neeed done. I shall be in your favour, Unteroffizier Franz von Tann.
There was an emphasis on the word favour, purposefully done to signify a loss of possible opportunities to these gloryhounds. Of course, either way, she wouldn't have given any concession if their products were below par, but it was a good snub. To top it all off, Heidemarie gave the group the famed "Lowen Lacheln" or "Lion's Smile". Like in the animal kingdom, despite being a smile, it is one that makes the receiver very disconcerting. Despite being an toothy grin, it is sharp and her eyes reflect not one gram of happiness. It is a sign that a Broderica is at the very least severely irritated and at worst, calculatingly hostile and affronted.
If you will excuse us.
Politely, Heidemarie tipped her head and strode out of the small encirclement, expecting Friedrich to follow behind. Not even 10 seconds, something else stopped her in her path. This time. it was a smaller girl. A feline one at that, though she didn't seem to be a patron though.
"Oh. I'm sorry for bumping into you."
Heidemarie responded with her typical sternss. It wasn't telling off or lecturing as if she was a servant, but Heidemarie was not exactly getting on her knees and kissing the girl better
Are you uninjured? I would recommend you to keep your wits about and your eyes opened. The people here do not have anyone but themselves in their best interest and i daresay would much prefer to create a scene, given their overinflated egos. You do not appear to be a guest, nor do you appear to be the normal hotel staff.... Who are you? What is your name and profession?
No longer angry and irritated, Heidemarie had stopped bending her crop and has now tucked it under her right arm with her hand on the hilt, and she has lost her "Lion's smile", now sporting a more inquisitive expression. The identity of this cat girl was trivial, but it probably could amuse herself for a minute or two.
Eile sighed a bit before smiling as Heidemarie started to question her.
"I'm Eile Weiss. I'm a musical idol from Brittina." Eile replied looking at the woman.
Judging by the woman's look, most likely she never saw a catgirl before. She decided to play coy with her.
"Ohh. Liking the ears? Or maybe it's my tail that you fancy." Eile stated.
"There you are Eile." Levont's voice called out.
Eile turned to see the god race twin walking over to her.
"Sorry about that. Kinda got lost in the crowd." Eile stated with a smile.
"Honestly, it'll be harder once the convention really starts filling up." Levont muttered looking at the cat girl before turning his attention to Heidemarie.
"Heidemarie Baden-Wurttemberg. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you here but we both know that I would be lying." Levont muttered looking at her with indifference in his plus shaped eyes.
"Be nice brother." Eile admonish looking at Levont.
"At the very least, I'd take her presence over Hobbs. He's getting all lovely dovey over that red head chick." Levont muttered looking over towards the general direction of Hobbs.
