[RP] - Spirit Shards

Prince Robert Silvermyst
Relucesco
Shrine in Primo

As Robert knelt praying inside the shrine, a female's voice entered into his mind. Prince of the golden heart, rise to your feet. Robert's eyes shot open. He looked around the room, finding that the priestess was not in the room. He was alone before the shrine. Slowly, the wolven prince stood and looked around. "Who speaks?" he asked.

The voice replied once more, coming from the statue at the front of the shrine. Fear not. No mortal speaks to you, thus you'll not see me with your eyes of flesh. the voice said with a calm and warm energy to her tone and words.

Robert remained standing, even though his instinct was to kneel. He knew not the one who was speaking to him, but he could feel it was an angelic, holy presence. "I must ask why have you chosen to address me." Robert spoke in a calm and rational tone of voice.

Because you are one of the chosen. Others shall come, but you are the one most cherished by the people of this world. You who lower yourself below your status to aid others, who listens when no lord or king will. Should this world survive the trials that soon come, you will be a worthy, fair and compassionate ruler. However, I ask that you will wait here, for others that I have called to shall soon come. Only then shall I reveal myself to the eyes of man and explain all. The voice spoke once more before all in the room, and in his mind, went silent. The prince stood there, bewildered but in his mind going over the events of what have just occurred. In accordance to the spirit's wishes, Robert remained in the shrine and sat facing away from the statue and looking towards the entrance.

Putting down her bag of personal belongings, Celestia started pacing around the room as she wondered about what to do next - more so now that she had a bodyguard. Quietly chiding herself for her rash decision to make the most out of the money spent, she sighed as she fingered her Dao habitually.

The only time I'll need a bodyguard is probably when I do something really dangerous... Like... Criminal dangerous.

She didn't take long to decide against this notion, shifting her focus to the room instead. As she had the luxury of choice without her mother leading her to a specific room, she picked the room that she used to stay in often - when the inn had lesser patrons.

Things hadn't changed much -- the tables were still in the same position, even the windows, bed and shelves.

Shelves? Clothes?

Reaching for her bag, she quickly pulled out a navy blue robe measured it against herself. No doubt, she had already made the appropriate measurements during purchase, but she just had to make sure.

Well, it'll be a good chance to wear this, no? Getting that man to follow me to the shrine and all... Maybe for once, I won't need to be the one fighting if the need arises!

Crossing her arms and nodding her head, she nods with triumphant smile plastered on her face. That is, until she perceived her behavior as unlike a woman. Her ideas were starting to get wild as she drafted out her 'plans' mentally.

So. I'm a rich noblewoman who's surprisingly generous because she needs a bodyguard for a dangerous mission that involves visiting a shrine!

The girl chuckled, amused that she would even be thinking of this... Until she realized she wasn't thinking it for fun.

Thinking back to how weary the man had looked then, she started to hesitate, vacillating between leaving him alone and getting him to come along until ultimately she went with the former. Hurriedly changing into the robes, she left behind her weapons and belongings - except her money pouch which she kept stuffed into her sash.

Grinning to herself, she quickly put on some soft sandals instead of her usual boots and walked out of the room.

She was just in time to see her mother leading another weather-beaten man to his room. Celestia was starting to wonder about how she was seeing so many rugged-looking men when she remembered what she was about to do. Hurriedly walking over to her mother, her movements slowed by her robes.

"Mum," She hissed, holding her back just in time.

"What!"

"That... That man that was d'enched in blood. Which 'oom is he in?"

"Ooom? You mean room?"

"Yes, Mum."

"You really need to learn how to pronounce your words clearly!"

Celestia rolled her eyes as her mother gestured to the room right beside her.

Nodding in affirmative, she waited as her mother went out of earshot before she gave the door a rasp knock.

"'eady to do you' job? Just a one-off t'ip!

Stevie looked around himself. He hadn’t really thought about where he was going, most of the time he didn’t. Looking around himself he realized that he was quite near the temple. That he even recognized that was slightly surprising to him, he didn’t exactly seem a lot of time around this area. Religious buildings weren’t places he enjoyed to hang out.

“Although I suppose it’s okay for now,” he muttered softly to himself.

Why not head toward the temple? With all the offerings and such going on, he would likely be able to beg some food, or, if he had to, steal it. After all, what did a Goddess need with food when he was starving? It’s not like she was going to eat it. For that matter, why does a Goddess who failed get a temple when I don’t have a home, he wondered bitterly.

Life wasn’t fair. He’d learn that much on his own. The world was dog eat dog, and if you weren’t doing the biting you were being bitten. Even gods obey that rule, fighting with each other to prevent the other from achieving the power that they wanted for themselves. Why should we be any different, he always wondered.

Sighing, he headed toward the temple, to search out some food, and perhaps a place to stay for the night. He didn’t have to believe in the Goddess to take advantage of the people who did. It was just necessary to make them think he cared. And after all, people are rather foolish when it comes to what they have faith in.

Speaking to Lucia and then Stevie

"I can't be letting my cute little treasure catch a cold now, can I?"

Asher screwed up her face at that as the woman fastened the cape around her small body to keep her warm.

"Ma'am, I don't even know your name... I'm hardly YOUR treas---" and once again she had her words cut off by the older lady, this time, with a kiss, it was a small peck on the lips, it was soft and warm but Asher did not expect it... well... she never expected anything the Brunette did to her.

The girls large eyes widened as wide as they could, and within seconds it was over. She brought her fingers to her lips and held them there as she watched the woman walk away.

"Stupid woman."
She huffed, turning around to face the Statue, there was a hybrid there, a wolf/human, Asher had never seen one of them before, he looked very noble but she dare not speak to him, a filthy peasant like her.

Then she noticed in the door way, the little nymph boy Stevie, she'd seen him around years ago living with his father but he'd disappeared for many years.

"Stevie...." she called, lifting a hand to wave. "Stevie, I don't know if you remember me, I'm Asher. I used to take crop deliveries to your father when we were younger."

Speaking with Celestia.

The tall male entered his room, having to duck his head under the door frame as he was too tall to walk straight under. The room was very neat and tidy. There was a bed and a shower room... the first thing he wanted was a shower, he was covered in so many different things, he felt disgusting and had to scrub himself clean.
Slipping off his dirty armor and pants, he got naked and walked to the shower room, bending over, resting his hands on the sink to look in the mirror he checked himself out a little... running a hand through his hair and watching some dirt and stuff fall out of his blond locks.

He then turned on the taps and stepped into the flowing water, letting off a sigh as the warmth ran down his toned body. This felt amazing. He hadn't washed for 10 whole days!!

"Washin' in tha shower, scrubbin' off tha dirt, ten day's as a run away, and look i'm hardly hurt..." He sang to himself in the shower, making up his own random lyrics, no one could hear him, although he was singing quite loudly.

Then suddenly, there was a knocking at the door. "Ehh? Who could that be already?" He said quietly to himself as he turned off the water and stepped out, grabbing the closest towel he could find and wrapping it around his lower half.

"Comin'!" he called, quickly rummaging around his clothing pile on the floor and grabbing out a dagger... could never be too careful. He then opened the door ever so slightly and peeked through.

"'eady to do you' job? Just a one-off t'ip!"

"Ohhh Luvy, it's only you." He laughed, voice cheerful again. "Ain't you lookin' all pretty and dressed up." he looked over her, dagger still in hand.

"So, a job already aye? I thought perhaps you were joking? I can still lay ye, if ya want?" he joked, nodding towards his bed but before he let her answer; "Let me just get ma cloths on, no peeking sweetie, by the way, names Chuck, and you are?" He said as he picked up his clothing items, sniffing them and scrunching his face up at the stench... he'd have to get them washed later.
He then took them to the shower room where he could change without embarrassing the woman but could still hear her answer his question.

"So this is Primo. I already hate this place. Too damn bright."

Aklyss made his way further in, shielding his eyes from the glaring sun overhead with a hand. He didn't belong here; he could feel that in people's glares. There he was in black robes with his black-blue hair with its icy streaks and there they were in bright whites and light colors.

He scowled. He didn't just not belong here, he didn't belong on Relucesco. He belonged on Umbra; he knew it. But somehow he was here. Why?

Ahead of him loomed the temple of Aduro. He could feel something writhe inside of him, like the sight of the temple itself was an anathema to him. He shrugged it off. It was part of being a human, queasy feelings without explanation.

He stood in front of the entrance to the temple wondering what he should do. Obviously he wasn't wanted here.

Stepping out of the shower, Vex took a look at himself in the mirror "This is much better, least now I look human and presentable" Combing his hair so it was sleek and styled he took a closer look around his room. It wasn't anything to fancy everything was made from wood, and the carpet was fairly nice, but to be given this room for free.

"Well not that it maters it was only for the night. Least I was able to shower and clean my clothes. I can't believe the state of mess they were in." After getting dressed he grabbed his cape that bundled up in the cloak he threw aside in the washroom. What now stood before people was a well groomed man wearing a solid set of tan pants, a black shirt with slight silver lining on the sleeves and stripes on the front. Putting on his cape and fastening the collar around his neck covered his pants and gave only visable signs of his silver lining shirt. At the last of his list he grabbed his sword and belt, the sword itself still adorned with the eight gems, fastening the belt around his right leg he sheathed his sword. It was easily foreseeable when he was walking due to how the cape fluttered in the wind.

"Well time to get to business whatever that may be, since i'm here I may as well as check out the shrine."

With that being said Vex started to leave the hotel until he heard a voice as he got outside. "Stop and wait for the two who exit now. A lady clad in dress and the male who will accompany her. I want you to follow them to my shrine and await instructions once you get there."

Now Vex was very disturbed by this, it seems as if the feeling he has suddenly...well talked to him! Not wanting to anger it, and more out of curiosity he decided to listen. He wanted to know what this feeling was and now why all of a sudden he heard voices in his head. So crossing his left left over his right and his arms over each other, he leaned against the wall to the inn waiting for the two people the voice said would come out next.

Speaking To Asher

Stevie had made his way to the temple. There were people here and there, but to his surprise it wasn’t nearly as packed as he thought it would be. He walked toward the door, and had just stepped in, when he saw a surprising sight. A tall brown haired woman was just moving in to kiss a silver haired girl. It wasn’t exactly something you saw every day, especially in a place like this.

It only lasted a few seconds, but that was quite long enough. Stevie had kept quiet and not moved so much as a centimeter during that time. He didn’t want to disturb the sight he was seeing. He could tell that the older woman was the initiator, but he thought the younger one wasn’t actually against the idea. Or maybe she was just shocked. He couldn’t sure.

When it ended, the older brown haired woman walked over, leaving the white haired girl standing there alone. She raised her hand to her lips, and Stevie wasn’t sure what she was thinking. He had a guess though. It didn’t seem that she knew the other lady too well.

“Stupid woman,” he heard her huff, before turning to face him.

Her face looked familiar
, he was sure that he’d seen her before. It was nagging in his memory, in the portion that he had tried his best to seal away. He tried to think of who she was, but couldn’t remember. Hopefully, she’d something to help him along.

"Stevie...." she called, lifting a hand to wave. "Stevie, I don't know if you remember me, I'm Asher. I used to take crop deliveries to your father when we were younger."

And then it hit him. Though the name was lost on him, the story had triggered some memories in him. They had both been young then, and it was before things had gone bad with his dad. If he was honest, he’d had a bit of crush on her, though he barely knew her. She’d always been very kind to him when they interacted.

I remember you. It’s been a long time hasn’t it? The way we’ve both grown I’m surprised you recognized me at all. I barely knew your face, though it’s beautiful as it ever was. How have you been?

Stevie was surprised that he had said so much. He was usually quiet and reserved, but maybe the shock of what he’d seen moments earlier had jarred him more than he credited. Whatever the reason, he was shocked to find he was actually anxious for her answer.

“I remember you. It’s been a long time hasn’t it? The way we’ve both grown I’m surprised you recognized me at all. I barely knew your face, though it’s beautiful as it ever was. How have you been?”

The girl blushed at the the boy's compliment, finding she was twirling her hair between her fingers a bit, before quickly stopping... Aduro was definitely smiling upon her today, she must be, because so many people were paying her attention.

"Thank you Stevie, I have been well, I haven't seen you around the town a lot, I thought you moved away."

She frowned. "I was really worried." Asher went to say more but then something weird happened, something unexplainable... everything in her vision began to blur away, everything except Stevie and The Wolf Noble at the Shrine.

"W-What's going on??" She shrieked and then out of no where a powerful voice spoke, soft, gentle yet strong.

"Finally my chosen have gathered.
The unsure light elf who longs for peace. The Strong Pirate who wishes to protect. The Noble Prince who would risk anything for the ones he love. The lost boy who only wants to be loved and The Lone Shadow who does not belong.

The Five of you will change the fate of the world, shall you chose to accept this quest or not is up to you.
500 years ago Acerbus and I fought a mighty war and were merged with the planets. Our souls breaking into 8 pieces and burring themselves deep within the two worlds. We no longer have the strength to keep the planets alive and the worlds are starting to crack. We are weak and are no longer able to sustain them.

The Five chosen ones, have been entrusted with the last of my power to go forth and collect 7 of the 8 Spirit Shards, if you do I will be restored and Relucesco will be saved but the people of Umbra will perish. If you fail, and the warriors from Umbra succeed, this planet as you know it will cease to exist. The consequences of your actions from this moment forward are a matter of life and death.

Now take my power and go, go become the saviors our planet needs before it is too late."

Suddenly Asher felt a burning sensation in her hand, she turned her hand over to look at her palm, being etched into it was a symbol, a Circle with a goddess in the middle of it, it flashed a bright blue before disappearing and then.... everything went back to normal. Everyone in the temple blurred back into her vision.

"W-What on Relucesco just happened???" She looked to Stevie "D-did...did that just happen???"

~*~

(OOC) There mission for Relucesco, DONE. Next Umbra when the last three make it to the shrine :D
Oh and everyone in Relucesco who is a chosen one can hear this speech and will all get a marking etched into their hand.

Keeping her back pressed to the temple walls, Lucia was growing bored, Asher wasn't coming out yet and she wasn't about to have her treasure get away. As she was about to walk in and drag her out she suddenly found herself walking on empty space, surrounded by complete darkness. Then out of nowhere a voice began to loudly echo from nowhere and everywhere at the same time.

"Finally my chosen have gathered.
The unsure light elf who longs for peace. The Strong Pirate who wishes to protect. The Noble Prince who would risk anything for the ones he love. The lost boy who only wants to be loved and The Lone Shadow who does not belong.

Before she could reply, Lucia felt a burning feeling erupt on her right hand as a strange marking appeared on the palm. "Well, at least it'll be easy to hide..." Before she could gather her thoughts, she felt herself being physically pulled back into reality as colour and sound returned to her vision. Regaining her footing she found herself within the Temple, spotting Asher among the small group of people that had gathered she marched in and grabbed her by the arm, dragging her outside before leading her to a secluded area outside the town. When she was sure they were out of sight she checked Asher's hands, sure enough she had an identical mark on them. "So, I guess you heard it too? We either save ourselves and commit mass genocide or sacrifice ourselves and save another planet... Can't say I like either option. Why don't we lay low for a while? Whoever the other 3 guys are can handle it, besides, I don't want my treasure getting hurt"

Gently holding Asher's hand she looked around, seeing nobody watching she began to walk her away before she remembered something "Oh and about before... Name's Lucia, you coming then?"

"Thank you Stevie, I have been well, I haven't seen you around the town a lot, I thought you moved away."

She frowned at him.

"I was really worried."

Stevie was about to respond, but something weird happened. At first, he braced himself to hold back his powers, but soon realized that that wasn't what this was. This was something different altogether, something more powerful...but seemingly less dangerous.

His vision of his surroundings dimmed but he could still see Asher, and now he noticed that there was also another being in the temple with them, a half-wolf who looked much nobler than either Stevie himself or Asher. What was the meaning of this? If he was going blind, then he should seen nothing at all.

"W-What's going on??", he heard Asher shriek.

He wasn't sure himself. None of this made sense. Had someone decided to rob them of their possessions with magic? Where their even any spells for this purpose? He had no answers.

Suddenly he heard a voice that he would never be able to describe to anyone, a voice of opposites.
"Finally my chosen have gathered.
The unsure light elf who longs for peace. The Strong Pirate who wishes to protect. The Noble Prince who would risk anything for the ones he love. The lost boy who only wants to be loved and The Lone Shadow who does not belong.

Stevie grabbed his hand because it suddenly felt as though hot iron had been pressed up against it. Looking through his other hand, he noticed that a sign was appearing; it looked like circle with the Goddess Aduro in it. It got brighter, and the pain intensified to the point where he almost dropped to his knees, then both disappeared, leaving behind a mark that resembled a scar.

As the temple came back into his view, he had too many thoughts rushing through his head to separate them. Did that voice belong to the Goddess that he didn't believe in? What was the meaning of the message? Did anyone else hear it or was it just him? He wanted to ask Asher, but after the shock of what had happened, he still couldn't speak.

Stevie watched, still in shock as Asher was pulled out of the temple but the older woman. He wanted to do something to stop her, but his attention was suddenly taking by another being who was standing in the door. A boy who looked about his age was standing there, an emotional less calm on his face.

He was...beautiful. In his shock Stevie tumbled toward him, all thoughts of Asher gone from his mind. He wasn't the type to fall in love, but here was something drawing him toward this boy. Reaching out, Stevie put his hand on the boy's face, and found that it was cool to the touch. Much too cool for a normal human.

Stevie felt like he was looking at a statue made of the most perfect ice. Without thinking, Stevie leaned in, his lips brushing against the icy brilliance. It was like heaven. A few moments later, he found himself pulling away, and backed up.

"I'm so sorry," he blurted, flustered for the first time in his life.

(OOC: Sorry it ran long. :wacky:)

Celestia laughed at Chuck's comments, more amused than trusting of his words. That, and she managed to get a full view of his upper torso this time, minus the clothing and blood. Repeating her earlier act of surveying his overall appearance out of habit, she couldn't help smiling almost lewdly. Realizing her smile, she quickly cupped her hands around her mouth and looked back up at his face.

"So, a job already aye? I thought perhaps you were joking? I can still lay ye, if ya want?"

Laughing to herself - largely because she never expected this suggestion to actually be so appealing to her. That, and for the perceived bravado. Celestia had no way of knowing if he actually meant his words, but she did believe he had no lack of women who would gladly lay him down.

Without the gore on him, he did look like a highly attractive man. As he walked into the shower room, she allowed herself one small smile as she introduced herself.

"I'm Celestia. I suppose I'll wait outside the inn."

She couldn't help breaking into a small giggles as she closed the door, and turned to head towards the inn exit, but not without first informing her mother.

"Going to visit the Sh'ine."

Her mother regarded her overall dressing in awe, before nodding and waving her away.

Pleased to be able to get past without another of her nagging, she made her way outside the inn, before turning to wait for Chuck. There was already a man outside, and choosing to focus on this man (Vex) instead while waiting for Chuck, she eyed him top to toe habitually.

In general, he seemed to look somewhat similar to Chuck, with dirty blonde hair and not being overly muscular. The only clear difference were the height - Chuck was apparently taller - dressing, and their eyes. This man (Vex) before her had eyes of a rather strange color.

What really disturbed her was the fact that he had been looking at the inn's doors when she came out - at her. Raising a brow as she regarded this fact, she waited at a pillar fairly close to the entrance.

Celestia dreaded such behavior, which she usually perceived as cowardly; she didn't have her weapons with her, which gives her less of an ability to protect, save with her bare fists - with which she isn't as proficient. Still watching him (Vex) warily, she waited for Chuck to arrive.

Aklyss watched from outside as people went in and out of the temple, himself wondering what he should do. Without warning, there was a voice in his head.

"Finally my chosen have gathered.

There was an odd feeling in the palm of his left hand and steam began to rise from underneath his glove. There wasn't any pain but still, Aklyss clenched his hand into a fist and the steam stopped, condensing into water droplets that slipped through his fingers.

It talked about him. The Lone Shadow. Was this why he was here? At any rate the choice was clear. Find his shards before the ones on Umbra did and save himself. Or find a way to Umbra and help them. That was where he belonged at least, rather than being persecuted here.

As he had these thoughts he was unaware of the hand brushing against his face but he was pulled out of them by someone's lips against his. Before he could do anything, they had already pulled away and were now looking at him, obviously flustered.

"I'm so sorry."

"You're lucky I don't impale you on a sliver of ice right now," Aklyss said. "Don't try it again."

Talking to Aklyss

"You're lucky I don't impale you on a sliver of ice right now,"
Aklyss said. "Don't try it again."

Stevie was embarrassed. He had made a move on a complete stranger, and a foolish one at that. It wasn’t like him to kiss a complete stranger, and he still wasn’t sure why he had. He chalked up in to a mix of shock and surprise at what happened, and the antsy feelings that being in the city had also given him.

One day….someone will melt your ice.

He paused, staring at the boy, and was shocked to find that he was tempted to do it all again. Something in the coldness of his face made Stevie want to protect him. One day, Stevie told himself, one day I’ll hold onto him tightly, and if we must…we’ll melt away into nothingness together.
Then the rest of what had happened hit Stevie. Up to now he only considered the kiss and the boy, but now he realized how small of a thing it was compared to hearing the voice of Aduro. Clearly, his head was still muddled with everything that had happened. He quickly decided to put thoughts of romance out of his head

Did you hear the voice too?” he asked, though he thought he already knew the answer.

Speaking to Lucia then Prince Robert.

Asher struggled in the Woman she now knew as Lucia's grip. "Let go of me Lucia. There were others in there who heard it too! I saw them!!" She said gripping the womans hand, trying to pry her off. "LET GO!" Finally she managed to wriggle free, stumbling back and falling on her butt. "Oof"

She looked up at the brunette with anger, but realised there was something in Lucia's gaze... she seemed... scared? Standing up and brushing her skirt off the elfling walked closer to Lucia. "You're really strong and brave!" she said, lifting a hand and cupping the woman's cheek. "That's why we have to go back and face whatever has just happened to us."

The girl leaned in, wrapping her arms around the older and taller woman, pulling her in for a tight hug. "Don't worry, we've got the same destiny now, You'll probably be seeing a lot more of me! Now please come with me... or you could wait here for me?" and with that Asher let go of Lucia and walked back into the temple. Trying to find the Wolf man she had seen before...

There he was. "E-excuse me..." She said, tapping him on the back. "Did... did you feel IT too?"

Speaking with Celestia and Vex

"I'm Celestia. I suppose I'll wait outside the inn."

"Celestia..." he repeated but to himself as the woman had already left, what a pretty name. Chuck spent about 5 minutes getting his armor back on, there wasn't a lot of it as he'd lost most of it on his 10 day journey but it still took a while to put on, he then fastened his sword and sheath to his back and strolled outside to meet with the woman who had bought his services.

"Ok So Luv, are ya ready?" He asked walking outside while straightening his pants "So the temp--Ayye... look who it is, the little lad from before!!" He said noticing the same boy he was talking to not all that long ago. "Looks like ya cleaned yaself up too!" he joked, reaching a hand down and ruffling the shorter male's hair up. "What are you doing, hanging around outside the Inn? Did ya get kicked out too?"

Chuck obviously didn't show as much reluctance in talking to the boy as Celestia did. "Wanna come to tha Shrine with us? I'll be your body guard too."

Talking to Stevie

"Then they'd have to kill me," was Aklyss said in response.

Aklyss glared at the other boy as he kept looking at him., so intent on whatever.

Did you hear the voice too?

"I guess that makes you the lost little boy searching for love. You won't find it here. Or even near here. Go off on your little adventure for true love and leave me out of it."

"I guess that makes you the lost little boy searching for love. You won't find it here. Or even near here. Go off on your little adventure for true love and leave me out of it."

Stevie felt his blood begin to rush toward his face, and found himself blushing against his will. The beauty on the surface was not matched underneath. Or was it? Stevie had a feeling in his soul that there was more to this than met the eye. More to this boy then the insults he always seemed so eager to throw out.

“And I guess that makes you the person who doesn’t belong? Do you think that makes you any better than me? You’re just as lost as I am, you just don’t admit it to yourself. Don’t patronize me with your stupidity. You try to act old and wise, but you sound like a child to me.”

Stevie took a deep breath, and tried to calm himself. He failed. Who did this stranger think he was? It was clear to Stevie by the touch that he wasn’t quite human. That was fine, neither was Stevie. Looking the boy in his eyes, Stevie opened and his mouth and, to his surprise, he spoke calmly.

“You’re just scared, aren’t you? Scared that maybe you’re the lost boy looking for love? I bet you still long for your mother's apron strings like the child you are.”

Losing her grip on Asher's hand, Lucia watched her fall, almost cutely before she lifted herself to her feet.

"You're really strong and brave!"

Before Lucia could say anything in response she found Asher's hand held against her cheek, even though she prided herself on being tough, it felt strangely nice to her.

"That's why we have to go back and face whatever has just happened to us."

As Asher pulled Lucia into a warm embrace, she found herself unable to return it, a mix of speechlessness and shock from what had happened, not to mention how she had to live now.

"Don't worry, we've got the same destiny now, You'll probably be seeing a lot more of me! Now please come with me... or you could wait here for me?"

For a moment, Lucia's mind wandered at her 'seeing a lot more of me' comment, masking the smile though she shook her head as Asher ran back to the temple.

"I'm not scared... Not for myself anyway..."

For once, Lucia was at a loss of what to do, did she run away and leave it to the rest of them to carry out or did she try her best to fight for everyone? Neither option sounded too appealing, though for now she could simply do it to protect Asher, though still practically strangers she felt herself exceptionally attracted to her, both for her looks and also for something else she couldn't pinpoint. As such she couldn't afford to lose her now.

Composing herself she took a few deep breaths before she crouched down and leaned against the wall to the town, she needed to get her thoughts together, especially if there was an off chance she got made leader, not that the idea was too appealing to her, looking after Asher alone was going to be hard enough.

Ferion
Umbra

Ferion getting tired of all the religious nuts in the shrine, decided the voice in his head was just his imagination and tried to leave. Ferion's head suddenly felt really light as he heard the strange voice, "You wont leave yet!"it was a new voice from the one that told him to come into the shrine. Ferion couldn't stand after hearing the voice, he was getting dizzy.

Everything was getting blurry, and Ferion slowly started to sit down, not wanting to collapse. He started breathing very deeply trying to get the light headed feeling out of his head. He felt that the shrine was forcing him to stay here after that voice went into his head.

Vex Talking to Chuck and Celestia

Now glaring at the taller man, the man who ruffled his hair he was getting slightly angry at. No it wasn't the short comments that he kept jabbing at himself with, it was more to the fact that he was being treated nothing more then a little kid. To top it off his aloof attitude and the arrogance that he seemed to take in his tone with him also rubbed him the wrong way. Standing up to fully gaze at the two before him he stepped back with his left leg and bending his right knee he did a slight bow while saying, though more looking at women "My name is Vex. It would be a pleasure to have your acquaintance if your are going to the shrine. May I ask thee for name as well?"

Returning from his bow of introduction his gaze went up to the taller man once more. "Nay I wasn't booted from the inn, I just felt like getting a breath of fresh air before I went to the shrine. I think I can just accompany you, you as my bodyguard would be pointless. After all I was a ex-knight for our oh so wonderful capital." Then thinking to himself for a brief second he added. "Those quick to boast and jest are often lacking in skill. So perhaps I could be yours and the stunning lady here bodyguard instead?"

Truth being he never was a knight, they kicked him out during the final process and initiation of the trials. He could partially why, but hated them none the less for it. He passed all the exams with flying colors and outstanding precision. He awed all of them and already had their respect by the looks on their face, but then there was the last test or step so to say. It was to see if they had magic, the capitals knights were famous and renowned for their skills without using magic. So when they came to Vex and waves this strange looking stone in front of him it started to glow dimly, then brightly until a violent light overtook the room before the stone shattered. Their looks of awe and respect quickly turned into that of disgust and hatred. They accused him of cheating and said how dare he taint their sacred halls with his like of magic. Truth being it didn't matter to him now at all, the only reason why say he was an ex-knight was to see if this older man would back off some.

"If though you wouldn't mind me asking, why would one need a body guard to the shrine, it doesn't seem as if it would be dangerous to go alone?"

Seeing Chuck address Vex calmed her down somewhat; at the very least, Chuck was aware of Vex, or perhaps he knew the latter. Nevertheless, it did prove there was little to no issue with the entire staring and all. However, it seemed that Vex didn't take too kindly to Chuck's attempt at friendliness.

Celestia merely kept mum as she listened, introducing herself and Chuck as well along the way - all this, without hiding her amused smile at his usage of 'thee'.

"I'm Celestia. He's Chuck."

As soon as she said that, Vex was already staring right at Chuck. Sensing some tension between the two in the air, particularly from Vex, she continued keeping quiet. From her experience of working with male mercenaries, such tension usually led to some sort of fist fight. Although it rarely meant well for the mission, Celestia had to admit it was entertaining to watch.

"Those quick to boast and jest are often lacking in skill. So perhaps I could be yours and the stunning lady here bodyguard instead?"

A direct challenge and reference; hearing these words, Celestia curtseyed on cue with the 'stunning lady' reference.

A knight without his armor?

Again looking him top to bottom, Celestia couldn't help but doubt his jest. Nevertheless, she didn't concern herself enough to ask. After all, he might just be an anomaly amongst the ranks - someone who disliked wearing armor... Though that itself was questionable, considering the level of discipline associated with the Knights.

"If though you wouldn't mind me asking, why would one need a body guard to the shrine, it doesn't seem as if it would be dangerous to go alone?"

Realizing it would be most appropriate for her to answer, seeing as she was the one who came up with this entire 'bodyguard' affair, she shrugged," Well, you never know what can happen, and I don't have my weapons on hand to defend myself should anything happen."

Although this wasn't the real reason, it surprisingly fitted well with the existing facts. Pleased with her stroke of fortune in having came up with such timely excuse, she decided to get the group to the Shrine - feeling a strange urge to go.

"Hm, well, shall we move along?"

Breaking into a slow amble, she joked, laughing heartily as she did," You could be my bodygua'd too, Vex."
