[RP] - Spirit Shards

Channing (Chuck) Freeley
Umbra:
Talking with All Umbrian Chosen Ones.

Chuck was the next to leave the shrine, staying near the entrance so he could keep an eye on Celestia. His arms folded and his stare angry as he listened to the new comer 'Ezelus' tell them his story. He was brave for giving them this whole story...he also seemed very knowledgeable...But he did not seem human... and this had Chuck very weary. He was not so kind to 'creatures'...
Vex introduced himself next so chuck decided he would as well until another new comer came wandering over from inside the Shrine.

"Greetings travelers my name is Ferion, forgive me for being being rude but did you four heard the voice also?" Chuck recognised this man as the Dark Elf from the Inn. Well it looked like all 5 of them were gathered, that was easy.

"Aye, so Ezelus and Ferion... looks sif we be workin' together for some time now as we too heard the voice of Acerbus." He said taking a step forward. Chuck was the tallest on their new team... he towered over the others as he looked over them. "Well, Name's Chuck. I don't got a big history... nuttin' excitin' to tell ya. Just a lowly Human who does tha odd job fer nuttin' but a small sum." He lied. "But I am Skilled with the sword so I should be of use." He finished with. Chuck would not be telling anyone his history. He was outlawed in Acies, there was a bounty on his head and he held a secret which he could not let out in front of the creatures...

(OOC) Kay so let's wait for Rav to post next so her character doesn't get bogged down in too much conversation before she's even introduced herself haha.

“I saw you. You come out now. Don’t bother trying to run, I can just find you again.”

"Damn," Aklyss muttered.

He stepped out from behind the tree, a blue staff in his hand.

“We need to talk about the voice. You can’t just run away from it all. You and I were both chosen. We are this world’s only hope. If we don’t work together…then this world will fade away. I’m sure you don’t want that, right?”

"The voice of the supposed god? Oh we were chosen, chosen to bring back a failure. Of course, if we fail another failure emerges. We have to choose whether we fade or they do. I'm not fading; I don't give a fuck about the rest of you. Doesn't matter if i'm here or there."

Celestia
With the other 4 Chosen Ones of Umbra
[OOC: Remember she has a problem with pronouncing 'R', for those who hasn't interacted with her before. The 'R's are all the apostrophes ']
There was no real explanation as to how exactly the others could take this so lightly. This was a mission that will bring forth the destruction of an entire planet! Celestia may seek excitement as Acerbus noted, but if that came at the expense of so many innocent lives, she can barely find the will to revel in it.

Yet looking at her four partners, she realized she had to harden up and conform - for now, at the very least. Staring just as fiercely back at the reaper, she quietly responded," Celestia."

Seeing him bow slightly in respect, she followed suit, with a curtsey to match her dress.

Still wary of this reaper, and the fact that he was a previous citizen of Relucesco, she proceeded to ask,"You we'e a High Mage before? And now you have a fo'm of hat'ed towa'ds 'elucesco?"

As far as she was concerned, the destruction of an entire planet may be something she have no choice but to partake in, but it was something she refused to take responsibility for. Even if the world of Umbra were to one day proclaim them heroes and legends, she could see that there would be too much blood on her hands - and heart.

Her heart was heavy even as she pulled away from the group.

"In any case, you don't look like you'll st'ay f'om this quest. I'll go get my things and rejoin you."

She then walked off, forgetting the two, Vex and Chuck, who were also at the inn with her previously.

"The voice of the supposed god? Oh we were chosen, chosen to bring back a failure. Of course, if we fail another failure emerges. We have to choose whether we fade or they do. I'm not fading; I don't give a fuck about the rest of you. Doesn't matter if i'm here or there."

Stevie sighed. He was thinking exactly the same thing, so he didn’t know why he was annoyed. Why was it their responsibility to back a failure? The Goddess couldn’t handle her own problems so they had to? It wasn’t exactly fair, and it made little sense to him.

Then he thought about what else the boy had said. What did he mean here or there? Was he still referring to the planet of Darkness? Why would he want to be there? Stevie wasn’t even sure if he believed it existed.

“Here or there? You’re talking about Umbra again aren’t you? Why do you think you should be there so much?”

Prince Robert Silvermyst
Town
Addressing the other Chosen ones of Relucesco

Robert gave a polite bow of his head to the lady and smiled. "A pleasure to meet you lady Asher. I am Robert Silvermyst, prince of Relucesco. I originally came to this town seeking the whereabouts of my missing brother Simon. However, it seems my own search must be put aside as many more lives are in danger." Robert spoke as he began to look for the others that were inside the shrine with them when the Goddess spoke to them about the fate of both worlds.

Using his sensative nose to catch the scent of two of the others that were in the shrine, he headed towards the woods, following the two there to try and bring everyone back together. If they were going to work as a team, they needed to not go separate ways.

As the group expressed their concerns over the destruction of Relucesco, Ezelus could do nothing but contain his laughter. The grin that ran his face like a cheshire cat growing wider and wider..

"A hatred? yeeeees.. you could say that. Although i was once human, and highly respected, everything about that race of 'overly confident morons' made me want to burn them alive! But you see, now it seems i want to do something else, aswell. I want to personally see the look of a Relucescian's eyes when he/she watches from here, at the Umbrian Shrine, the obliteration of their dear planet!"

He explained, holding his forehead in his palms, trying ever so hard not to burst out laughing, shaking all over from the excitement of the mere thought of it.

No-one really knew why, he relished in the pain of an entire population, or even what his plans truly were, all they knew, was that Ezelus was indeed, a sinister being, and a party member to watch out for...

"Come! We have to obtain those shards before those damned Relucescians possess them!" He exclaimed, pointing eastwards, towards the broken path which stretched across the cliffs...

Speaking with Lucia

Asher listened as Prince Robert told her his tale. So, he was a prince, how exciting she thought, he really was a noble and that made the girl feel even more nervous around him. But once he had finished what he was telling the young girl... he got up and left... just like that... he seemed to be searching for something but didn't quite tell Asher what.

"Uh...uhm Prince Robert???" She called to him but he was already gone. "You were meant to come with me..." she sighed well so much for that... The young girl then slowly ventured off back to Lucia. She only just now remembered that she still had the woman's coat wrapped around her shoulders. "Oops... should Probably give this back." Asher said to herself as she walked along the cobble road.

Eventually she made it back to where Lucia was...or was meant to be... the woman didn't seem to be there any more... "L-Lucia?" Asher called, her voice a little squeaky. "Lucia I have your Coat..." She looked around wondering where that strange woman went off to.

Celestia questioned the new comer Ezelus who replied with a very evil reason for wanting what he wanted... even Chuck was a little disturbed by it and he was a trained warrior, and then she left, Chuck could see in her eyes that she was burdened by their new quest. The Blond couldn't help but feel a little worried for her but something told him she was probably more than capable of looking after herself... so he turned his attention to the other men.

"Aye Hold yer horses, Creature." He said to Ezelus not bothering to bite his tongue. "The lil' lady needs to collect her things and do ya even know where ta start? Shouldn't we ask someone around 'ere?" He raised an eyebrow at the three men "Jus' moments ago we didn't even know them 'shards' existed and ta be 'onest I'm still not so sure I trust what jus' happened..."

Chuck then waited, leaning against the Shrine's external wall for the other men to give some input.

Celestia
Alone as she returns for her belongings at the Inn, and back to join the group

Celestia had to hurriedly move out of earshot of the group as she cursed under her breath, ignoring the people around her who threw her disgusted glances. She didn't care about her indiscreet usage of foul language even as she stormed into the inn, startling her mother as she went into her room. Forcefully changing out of her robe into her scarlet armor.

Staring down at the blood-like hue of her armor, she sighed as she wondered about how many people she had slain over the course of her mercenary years. Here she was, about to don this armor again as she set out on a quest to slay an entire planet of people.

The female warrior swiftly kept her belongings and after having placed them into a small haversack, slung it over her back. Stopping first, at the dressing table, she looked deep into her own eyes as she visualized the quest she was about to set out on.

All she could see was blood, and looking down at her hands, she saw even more of it. Wincing in disgust, she quickly put on her leather gauntlets and left the room. Her mother was outside with a worried expression.

"You okay?"

"Yes. I'm sorry that I didn't stay he'e long. I love you. Help me tell Dad as well."

Her expression softened as she hugged her mother tightly, before abruptly pulling back and leaving the inn.

I never thought there would come a day where I would be living up to the name that I fancied - Blood Seeker. I heard it mentioned of me once on a mission and I have liked it ever since - even though I never behaved as such. Today... This day...

Sporting a stoic expression, she quickly rejoined the group, finally remembering Vex and Chuck. Looking to them, and ignoring Ezelus and Ferion,

"Don't you two need some 'est? Or even collect you' belongings?"

Without waiting for their response, Celestia looked over to Ezelus, the only one in the group that seemed particularly enthusiastic about the quest, asking," Any idea about our next stop?"

Staying put for now, she had seen several people pass her by and walked into the forest, whatever was going on, Asher took higher priority to getting curious. Seemingly on cue with her coming to mind, she heard the telltale footsteps of Asher's feet approaching.

For now, she'd just have to put on a brave face, if only for Asher's benefit. This 'mission' was probably bothering her too. Keeping herself out of view in some bushes she waited for Asher to pass her before following behind her, once she started calling out her name she gently placed a hand on Asher's shoulder, guiding it down her back before stepping forward. "So, I assume there's no changing your mind is there?" sighing a little she had a momentary pondering.

"If you're so dead set on saving this world in favour of another, I guess i'll help, for your sake anyway. For now i'd say out best bet would be to cross the plains, wherever these shard things are, I doubt they're going to be anywhere close by otherwise there'd be no point getting so many people gathered" Lucia then took a look around herself "speaking of, where are the others anyway?"

Ferion
Umbra

Ferion listen to each of the 'chosen ones' talk and argue with each other, he couldn't help but smirk a little as he kept thinking to himself, 'these chosen ones cant even decide what to fight for, I know what I will fight for.'

Ferion looked at each one of them before he started talking. "Look I'm sure most of us are tired anyways, lets go to the inn, get everyones stuff and rest up for a while, then we can talk about where to go, does that sound ok with everyone?"

Ferion figured that they didn't need to know he lived in the city, and he figured that as long as they were on the same mission no one needed to know anything about anyone else.

"Or we can sit here agrue over where to go what to do, and while we argue these 'shards' can get taken by someone else and this world can be destroyed, I guess it's everyones choice."

Speaking with Lucia

Asher jumped as Lucia seemed to have popped out of no where but she felt relieved knowing that the woman didn't up and abandon her.

"So, I assume there's no changing your mind is there?" The brunette asked. Asher just shook her head. She was not willing to just let their planet fade away...then Lucia said something that really hurt...

"If you're so dead set on saving this world in favour of another, I guess i'll help, for your sake anyway."

Asher turned around and stared at the woman, her eyes pained "Y-you really think that's what I want, Lucia??" She said, holding back the tears in her eyes. "For so long i have wanted to get along with the people from Umbra, I pray to Aduro all the time and it seems she has entrusted me with her powers." The Elfling threw Lucia's coat at the brunette and took a few steps back.

"I don't need you if that's how you think of me... You're just a stranger but you should have more faith in you 'treasure'!"
She shouted turning away from Lucia and storming off. She was so furious but she hoped the older woman would follow her... or something...

Asher's first stop was back at her farm house. When her father passed away he left her a magical bow but she never had any use for it.
Asher was skilled in light and healing magic, she hadn't mastered it yet, but she knew with some practice she could become at least ok...she had no idea how to use the bow though.

Addressing the other Chosen ones of Relucesco

Robert looked behind him to see the girl he spoke to did not follow. He returned to the woman where she was now speaking to another. "My apologies lady Asher. I had thought you were going to follow me as I looked for the others who seem to have walked off and gone their own ways. We need to get everyone together, else we cannot even begin this journey." Robert explained.

"For so long i have wanted to get along with the people from Umbra, I pray to Aduro all the time and it seems she has entrusted me with her powers."

It didn't take much to see Lucia had said the wrong thing, but ultimately that was what was going to happen, seeing Asher look pained she tried to approach and calm her down when she threw her cloak at her and started to walk backwards.

"I don't need you if that's how you think of me... You're just a stranger but you should have more faith in you 'treasure'!"

Letting out a sigh and lightly hanging her head Lucia watched Asher walk off,
catching a glimpse of her before she disappeared out of sight, running after her it didn't take much to catch up. Seeing her enter a farm house Lucia waited outside, seeing as she probably needs alone time she'd wait it out till she came back out.

Speaking with Lucia and Prince Robert

Asher pushed open the doors to her home, it was cosy and sweet, she'd miss her house... it held many great memories...then it reminded her.. she had to tell her two employees to take care of the farm for her.

Running to the granny flat out the back Asher knocked on the door and was met by Jon, an elderly man who helped her take care of the crops and his grandson Rei who looked after the animals.

"Good morning."
she said sweetly. "I...I uhm have to leave the village... something very sudden has happened..." the two males looked at her, a little confused.

"I was hoping that you would take care of the farm in my absence... I will pay you extra of course!!"

The older man stepped forward, placing a hand on the girls head "You pay us enough as is Asher. We will look after the farm until you get back, I am sure you have something very important to do!"

Rei gave the girl a nod and a smile.

Asher was so relived, she gave the two men a tight hug and some instructions and left to the back shed where the trunk carrying her magic bow was sitting.

She opened the creaky door, revealing an almost empty dusty room. The Chest was in the far corner. Asher walked over to it and knelt down, opening the chest to reveal her fathers bow. It looked so ancient, it was made of oak wood with strange patterns engraved on it... it was beautiful. She remembered her father telling her that it didn't need any arrows.... all you needed was to focus your energy through it.

she picked the bow out of the case and fastened it to her back, then grabbed a small sack bag and filled it up with food and water and bits and bobs which she thought would come in handy...

She then left the farm, turning around... to get one last look at her home before she started the adventure and then she was on her way.

She didn't walk long before she noticed Lucia standing down the road waiting for her.

"Oh... you didn't leave?" The purple eyed elf said with a grumpiness to her tone then out of no where came Prince Robert...

"My apologies lady Asher. I had thought you were going to follow me as I looked for the others who seem to have walked off and gone their own ways. We need to get everyone together, else we cannot even begin this journey."

The man popping out of no where startled Asher a bit. "Well looks like we found eachother anyway" She smiled at him. "Lucia, this is Prince Robert Silvermyst! He is our great king's son!! And Prince Robert this is Lucia... another of the chosen ones!"

The girl then waited for the two to acknowledge eachother.

Channing (Chuck) Freeley
Umbra
Speaking with the Chosen Ones

The men squabbled about what to do next when Celestia came back. This time dressed in armor. Chuck was impressed. He knew she was some sort of fighter... she had that spirit in her eyes.

"Don't you two need some 'est? Or even collect you' belongings?" She asked both Chuck and Vex. Chuck wasn't sure about Vex but he knew he didn't have any other belongings other than the clothes on his back and his sword. He had no food, hardly any money and no change of clothes... he didn't want to admit it... it would lead to more questions... Chuck paused... trying to think of an excuse... no doubt someone would wonder why he had nothing but dirty armor with him...

Ferion spoke next
"Look I'm sure most of us are tired anyways, lets go to the inn, get everyones stuff and rest up for a while, then we can talk about where to go, does that sound ok with everyone?"

That did sound like a good idea to the blond... he was so tired still he never got to rest back in his room at the inn...

"Or we can sit here agrue over where to go what to do, and while we argue these 'shards' can get taken by someone else and this world can be destroyed, I guess it's everyones choice."

"Aye, well goin' back to tha Inn sounds like a good idea ta me." Chuck expressed. "We ca' discuss our next move over a pint a liquid gold." the man was referring to beer. "C'mon lads... we're gettin' no where like this" and Chuck turned around and headed to the inn, wondering if anyone would follow. As he walked on he thought hard about who might be a good person to ask about this quest... there was the elder of the village... he might know something?

Seeing Asher appear again Lucia was about to approach her and apologise when she saw a strange man appear, apparently they knew each other. Before he could see her she wrapped her cloak around herself, keeping her body covered. However, Lucia's anticipation soon turned to jealousy, seeing Asher's happiness towards this 'prince' and her disgust for her.

Looking down she felt a lump in her throat, while they barely knew each other she didn't like her treasures turning against her. Trying to supress as much venom in her voice as possible she looked up "Greetings Prince Robert, a pleasure to make your aquaintance" turning away Lucia began to walk off, she'd have to try and win Asher's trust again later, for now she'd just move on till an opportunity presented itself.

Vex stood there and listened to the apparent bickering of the group. Thinking to himself what would be done next, not also including where they would go next. They had no information to go on, on where these shards would apparently be located. Hearing both Chuck's and Celestia's statements he responded to both in turn.

"No I don't have have anything I need to grab from the inn. I got everything on me that I think i'll need for our journey. As for the golden drink Chuck, that sounds like a good idea. Maybe we can put our minds together and find out where our next stop should be?"

Leaving nothing else said Vex parted with the group and headed towards the bar, upon entering he found
the pub he sat down at the bar, awaiting any of the others that may join him.

"You want to know? Fine. I'll show you."

Aklyss tapped his staff on the ground and it dissipated in a shower of vapor. Near him and all around were trees and above was the sun. All around him were shadows from branches and leaves. Just behind him was the shadow of the tree he had stepped out from behind. Taking a backwards step he was now in the shadow of the tree.

"Watch carefully..."

He turned into a shade himself and disappeared from sight. Melded with the shadow itself, he could travel through them as far as he wanted as long as they touched. And in a forest? He could traverse it easily and undetected. That's what he did. He left Stevie behind and traveled through the shadows to the edge of the forest where he walked out from them and into the plains.

"One problem dealt with. Now to go to the city."

Prince Robert Silvermyst
Relucesco
Speaking with Lucia and Asher

"A pleasure to meet you as well, lady Lucia. I look forward to working alongside you both." Robert spoke with a polite and pleasant tone of voice. Unlike Lucia, Robert held no negative emotions towards the one he addressed. However, the one known as Lucia seemed to simply turn about and start heading away from them.

"I take it she has a destination in mind. I would think it'd be more beneficial for everyone to travel as a group, but it seems everyone is set on doing things their own way. I only hope this does not prove to be our undoing." Robert commented, waiting for Asher and then following her.

"You want to know? Fine. I'll show you."

The boy tapped his staff, and it disappeared. Stevie had to admit that it was an interesting trick but this was hardly the time. He watched as the boy backed into the shadows of the trees.

"Watch carefully..."

Then the boy disappeared into nothing. Stevie sighed. So it would seem that there was more to the boy then it seemed at first glance. Sighing, he wondered if the boy even understood what he was doing, running off alone. He didn’t like people much either, but he was smart enough to know that they sometimes had their uses.

There was something infuriating about that boy. He was sure they’d meet again; after all, life has a cruel sense of humor, a way of bringing you face to face with the ones you hate the most. It was only after being alone for a few seconds that Stevie realized his situation.

It wasn’t being the forest alone that was the problem however. He had often found himself in here alone during his days of training and had even sometimes slept here when the city didn’t seem right for him. It was the fact that he had little to no idea where in the forest he was. He wasn’t sure about anything.

Maybe it was time to trust the nymph in himself again, though he didn’t like to. After all, this was the forest from which his mother came, and to which she had returned. That should make some sort of connection between itself and him. If not, he’d lose nothing, and knew that if you headed in the same general direction you’d have to end up out of the forest eventually.
Sighing and feeling slightly idiotic he walked off.

Ezelus looked at the other group members squabbling over their next destination, eventhough he had already pointed out the way to the next town back at the shrine..

"Stupid, irritable fleshlings!" He thought to himself, shaking his head in disgust.

Ezelus decided to stare out the window across from the reception desk at the tavern, sighing in exhaustion, while holding his staff.

Several hours passed, and Ezelus did not want to be in this city any longer. He had a mission to complete, and he was anxious to be on his way. He grabbed an apple from the nearby fruits basket, and then opened the front door, and began walking eastward, towards the broken road, that winds down the cliff-face towards his next destination.

"Tsk, who needs sleep when there's a fountain of elemental eneergies to be had!" He said to himself quietly.

Ezelus approached the Eastern Town Gate, which was seemingly unguarded. He looked around the outposts, to find any sign on life, but alas, it semed like no one was around..

"damn it all?!" He shouted, deciding to rest himself against the suppoting pillars of the outpost, waiting for someone to get up and open the gate, perferably before the other group members awoke.
