Playstation Shin Megami Tensei

He is like a chameleon so you have a 1/5 chance of hitting him, and all-hit spells and attacks won't work. Sera can lend hints to make hitting him easier. He has a second form though which is stronger but he is not a chameleon this time round. He prioritises physical hits so phys-repel is a must here.

On another note I tried to get devil summoner today but GAME couldn't find the damn disk... imbeciles. :P

Yeah, I was foolhardy enough to take him without the phys-repel so I nearly got slaughtered if it wasn't for Gale's healing spells (He also has Samarecarm, a full-heal/revival spell ^_^)

Lol, so I definitely need phys-repel then :) What do you mean he is a chameleon?

Oh... There's a Shin Megami Tensei series in the works for PS3. Not much info, though, I'm afraid... But, I'd much more quickly buy PS3 for Shin MegaTen than FFXIII...

FFGuy and Ultima36, please keep the small talk at a minimal. There is also such a thing called Help Booth. ;)

Sorry Mitsuki ;)

@WolfBlack do you know when any additional information will be released? Such as release dates and name?

I have Persona 3. The newest one that came out. And I'm currently on the hunt for every other one that was ever created. I think the games are dark as hell and I love that concept so much. I cant wait till I get the rest of them.

Damn, so hope 3 gets a UK release. I picked up Digital Saga 1 & 2 plus 2's OST second hand for £20, which Im very happy with. As Ive also discovered the 5 hour save game I saved lol!

Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 are up there among my favorite rpgs. The storyline that goes with the games is incredible. The only problem I had with the two games is that they were basically dungeon based, and there was not a lot of exploration and side quests like you get in the FF games.

Music: 10/10
Story: 10/10
Gameplay: 8/10

I'm looking into getting some other Shin Megami Tensei games since I liked these two so much.

I personally preferred Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and Persona 3 over Digital Devil Saga, but, all in all, Shin Megami Tensei is a great RPG series.

I have Persona 3 and Nocturne and I have to say they're pretty good. I've gotten 105 hours on my first save of P3 and I didn't even get Satan and Lucifer yet xP I'm at 20 hours on my second Max S.Link run.

I haven't finished Nocturne yet, I'm just at the Obelisk. The difficulty is fine in some places it's overkill. Especially when I was fighting Red Rider.. XDD Took me at least 5 tries. ._.

It was a miracle I found this series, I'm more into dark themes now than I was before. I'm saving my money and to hopefully get DDS 1 and 2 and maybe Devil Summoner.

Edit: Is anyone reading the P3 manga, or watching the anime Persona -Trinity Soul-?

It seems that a lot of gamers don't know about this amazing game, so, I thought I'd make a thread to hopefully pool some interest for it.

Plot Synopsis: A teenager who was orphaned at a young boy returns to the city of his childhood. Shortly after transferring to Gekkoukan High School, he is attacked by Shadows — creatures that feed on the minds of their victims. The assault awakens his Persona, Orpheus, his only chance at defeating these creatures of the night. He soon discovers that he shares this special ability with other students at his new school. From them he learns of the "Dark Hour," a hidden time that exists between one day and the next, swarming with Shadows. He joins the Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (SEES), and with his new friends, confronts the threat of the Shadows by exploring Tartarus, a huge, chaotic tower that appears in the place of their school every Dark Hour.

The gameplay is perhaps the most...striking part of this game.
The way that characters summon their Persona's, and utilize attacks, if by shooting themselves in the head with a gun-like weapon call an Evoker.

Not only that, but the game is also, get this:
A DATING SIM.
Persona 3 follows these S.E.E.S. members for an entire year, and through each day, you have the opportunity to do things such as study, hang out with a classmate, eat ramen, drink coffee, play an MMO, all of which help to boost your Intelligence, your Charm, and your Courage. The higher those stats, the more friends and possible dates the main character is able to have.

Personal Notes: Persona 3 is one of the most addicting, and LONG games I've played in a while. It's well worth the money, since it's more than 70 hours of gameplay. Not only that, but the story is very dark, yet also very funny at times. It's a really great, and unique game.

And here's the main trailer for the game:

Here's a promotional music video for it:

And, incase anyone wants to watch it, here's the introduction movie to the game:

Hopefully some of you will take an interest in this game.
For those who have already played it, feel free to talk about it in this thread. ;D

When I played FFXII I lost hope in being able to enjoy a 60+ hour game, or even bothering to finish one. P3 looked like it might be redemption for long games though. and oh it was, oh it was. I didn't come out of the house for days when I first got my hands on it. Even as long as the game is, it has excellent replay value. The soundtrack is heavenly, even if you never get the game you should definitely go download the OST. I usually don't like sim type games (except for SimAnt) but I find the simulation part of Persona 3's gameplay to be incredibly addicting. I can't say enough good things about this game, I'm putting it right there with Chrono Trigger and Cave Story in the "Games I'll never ever stop playing" section.

To boot, every copy of the game comes with a nifty little hardcover art book and a little music sampler cd that comes with some of the songs from the game.

-Nod.- The $50 for the game is really worth it. It's 70+ hours long, plus it does come with the artbook and soundtrack.

It really is an addicting game. I take a slower approach to it, but I'm not even midway and I've gotten 40 hours of gameplay. xD It's such a good game.

Unfortunately, my best friend decided to let me in on spoilers, so, some of the shock-value scenes at the end will be lost for me. D= Still an amazing story, though.

I heard about it and I really want to play it! A lot of people recommended it to me ;)

I'm saving up for it right now! Hopefully I'll get the box set with the soundtrack and mini art book :)

We already have 2 threads on this, so Im going to try and merge them all together.

Please check next time.

Recently, I've been playing the first two games in the SMT series, Shin Megami Tensei 1 & 2, as translated roms on an SNES emulator. The games were never released in english (or any other language besides Japanese), so it's about the only way I'd have ever been able to play them...
