Alias: Crimson
True Name: Wallace Ramu
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Affiliation: Witch
Weapon: Fire.
Element: Fire

Appearance:

Sword_anime_girl.jpg

Hair Colour: Crimson's hair is naturally Dark brown but she has dyed it red as she thinks it fits with hew new identity
Eye Colour: Grey/Blue
Skin Colour: Lightly Tanned.
Dress Code: Crimson likes to be 'different' so she will dress to reflect this.
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 50kg

Personality:
Crimson is a feisty young woman, she has always had a sharp tongue since she was able to talk. Up until she was 16 She would constantly get into trouble, start fights, badmouth people who didn't deserve it, she would go around with her friends and vandalise things. Now that she is older she is more reserved, even a little paranoid. She know's there are others out to get her and she treads carefully to avoid being captured, having her powers stripped of her and killed. She does not keep much company anymore, prefering to be alone, practicing her magic for when she comes across another of her kind. When talking with people she is actually quite sociable. It is better to act normal than to seem quiet and suspicious she feels.
Many men fall over themselves for her as she is quite pretty to look at, but relationships and dating are the last thing on her mind.

Crimson can be quite clumsy and a bit of a ditz especially when nervous, she gives this away by fiddling with her long red hair; curling it around her fingers but if you make her angry you will regret it as she has an incredible temper, this aspect of her personality suits her power of Fire quite nicely as once you get her into a rage it is very hard to stop. Sometimes her rages cause her to black out, she will then awaken in a random location, everything around her burnt and destroyed. Often while watching the news there will be reports of accidental fires or arson... Crimson is usually to blame for them.

Bio:
Crimson was born in Tokyo, Japan, her father was English and her mother was Japanese. When she was 10 her father had been offered a new job in England, the job paid well and was too good to pass up. Dispite Crimson's protests they moved, she left behind her family and friends, this turned her bitter towards her parents and she rebelled. She would constantly skip school, and as the years went on she would get more and more troublesome.

Crimson eventually formed a tight friendship group with a bunch of girls when she was 14, they would go around, setting things on fire, vandalising people's cars or homes, generally just cause trouble.
The police had caught her on many occasions but could not do anything about it as she was a minor, so she would get sent home with a slap on the wrist and a warning. Her parents didn't know what to do with her. They sent her to councellors, tried medication but nothing worked.

Crimson spent her 16th Birthday in Juvinile Detention for driving underaged and without a license. That night in her cell a demon paid her a visit, he was horned, magical and powerful, his voice both scared and soothed Crimson at the same time. He told her she was special, that she held deep within her the power to control flames, he just had to unlock it for her. Crimson opened herself up to the demon. Taking this power he offered her. It felt amazing, almost instantly she was able to control it. The demon then left her but not before telling her of the other witches and their role to play.

The next day the girl was released back home, she didn't stay long, moving out to live alone in a city apartment. She found herself a part time job at a crematorium... morbid but she enjoyed practicing with the fire out of hours when everyone had left for the day. She is now studying history and religious lore part-time, trying to find out the meaning of her powers and how to collect the rest but is having trouble finding any information as there is nothing documented. Crimson carries a small lighter with her where ever she goes so she is constantly in the presence of fire.

To be frank, I didn't actually make the bio long 'cos it seems to me that people rarely refer to the character bio in the role play except for the appearance...

... Hell, sometimes, there are some exasperating ones that don't even check the appearance. The characters are regardless as some faceless personality -- thankfully, that is rare here.

That, and a repost of the bio. The Personality segment is made longer as requested.

Alias:
Desiree

True Name:

Appearance:

Desiree is a rather short blonde-haired girl with eyes of cyan. She is well-endowed, and generally considered pretty by many around her. However, she generally wears a demeanor of sullenness - explained further in the History segment.

Personality:
An introvert by nature, Desiree is not the type to speak openly, and loudly in a crowd. She usually waits quietly for someone to speak to her before even speaking; Desiree also has an inferiority complex, thinking everyone else better than herself.

In general, because of her Witch powers, she is easily able to make her life more convenient - like flying to her destinations. However, this is what she considers to be one of her darkest secret, which she guards to such detail that it would seem impossible to see through.

To keep this power secret, she repressed her emotions, and as a result, can seem cold and unfeeling to the people around her.

Bio:
Born to a pure English family that claimed to be descended from a line of royalty at some point in history, Desiree was raised in the strictest manner. She had to follow the rules of etiquette without fail or she would suffer the lashings of her father.

It was this that caused the numerous scars that she has on her back. This is also the reason why she never likes to wear bare-back dresses.

The Horned King paid her a visit on her 16th birthday, and changed her life forever. Suddenly possessing powers she had never before thought was possible, she began practicing in it's usage, and when the opportune moment arrived, she soared with the wind and was out of the castle.

It was a whimsical move made purely on impulse, and for a few years she had to resort to stealing to eke out a living.

She has been doing this for almost 4 years now, and has stopped schooling.

That is beside the point, to be honest. The reason I ask for detailed profiles is so I can see how much effort you've put into making a character, and how you'll interact with others. A detailed personality section allows people to gauge how your character would react to certain situations, so we can build up the story - I'm not a spontaneous RPer, I like having things planned. A detailed history isn't quite as important, but its still helpful. Short bios mean your character doesn't have anywhere near as much depth, and it makes the RP quite bland.

Squid, let me know when you're done and I'll review it, but from what I've seen so far its looking good~

I can't get a bio up now, but I intend to write up one for a witch later. Either Darkness or one of the reserves, I haven't quiiiite decided. :lew:

Edit: Change of plans. I've held Martel at gunpoint and gotten a new witch. Spirit is mine. <3

*lowers hands* Phew, that was close...

First post has been updated with Spirit Witch abilities. Spirit Knight abilities will be forthcoming...when I'm not so tired. I've also put some witches on reserve, since people are putting effort into bios, and it'd be a real bitch to have someone jump in and steal your spot...I'm not TOTALLY heartless. The reservation will vanish if I reject your app, though.

I'd like to have a minimum of four Knights before we start the RP, and so far I can account for at least two...possibly three. But I'm going to start hounding people, so I'll keep you posted. I still hold out some hope we'll be able to start on Sunday. xD

hokeh, I think I am done with my Bio now :) I didn't change much, just added a little to the bio and some theme music :)

I hope it is ok, please let me know if you want me to edit anything out or in <3

Hm. If I am to add more details to fluff up my character bio, I may as well start on a completely new one, since this one’s as good as done in my opinion.

It’s a public holiday anyway! I finally get to laze around at home.

Here goes.

Alias:
Desiree

True Name:
Zephale Rasmorya

Age:

18

Gender:
Female

Affiliation:

Witches

Element:

Wind

Appearance:

http://images.wikia.com/persona4/images/c/c5/Margaret_Persona.jpg

Desiree possesses a mature demeanour that usually misleads people into thinking she is older than she actually is. At a height of 1.84m and sporting a slim bodyline, she has the typical makings of a model – which she actually works as, part-time. Her hair is a bright blonde, and shoulder-length. Desiree usually wears a hairband largely for ornamental purposes rather than to hold her fringe back.

Her favourite colour is blue, and a large portion of her closet comprises clothing of this colour, or it’s lighter and darker variants; that, and she has a habit of wearing stockings almost every time she goes out. (Ignoring the possibilities of the match-up being an all-out wardrobe malfunction)

She is of a pure English descent, with exceptionally fair complexion. Her iris colour is a deep aquamarine, and both her nose and brows are sharp, and well-defined.

Personality:

Born an orphan, Desiree was initially an introvert who isolated herself from her peers by habit, over-thinking the reasons for their stares – most cases were just the person looking at something or someone behind her. It was only as she grew up, and developed an interest to become a clinical psychologist that she started to open up to the people around her.

She is still a highly sensitive person, susceptible to misunderstandings - this meaning that she has a tendency to think too much about the behaviours, however minor, of people around her. Although she tries to tone down her opinions about these behaviours, there are several occasions when she is unable to do so, and shows this in her own actions.

In line with this trait, Desiree is a highly meticulous person – almost a perfectionist. She strives to do everything as perfectly as possible, and likes to be highly organized in everything that she does. She usually brings along a planner (titled ‘La Grimoire’ in the picture… And significantly smaller) around all the time and records down all that she needs to do in them.

In conversations, she is generally awkward, with little to say. Although she does attempt to start conversations with people around her, she finds it easier for people to approach her instead – the latter way usually turning out more spontaneous than the former.

Generally, Desiree seems to exude a natural aura that deters people from considering the possibility of approaching her. She may be well-endowed with good looks, but she certainly isn’t as well-endowed when it comes to her self-esteem.

Be that as it may, people that do break the ice between Desiree and themselves are usually rewarded with a meticulous friend in her.

Bio:

Desiree was born to a couple that died in an explosion. The explosion was so intense that the bodies were never actually found. Desiree as a baby was found near the site of the explosion, saved by a passer-by who happened to be close by chance. She was brought to an orphanage and raised as an orphan.

Her parents were presumed dead, and the orphanage loosely revealed this fact to the children. Being children, the other orphans took no considerations of Desiree’s feelings and poked fun at her for the fact that both her parents were dead. This developed her introversion, and consequently led her to want to leave the orphanage as quickly as she could.

At the age of 14, she watched a documentary which featured a psychologist providing some insights and was immediately drawn into the world of psychology. Quickly moving to study intently on the subject, she knew this was how she wanted to leave the orphanage. Desiree started to take her academic performances seriously, and started to excel.

She was still bullied by the other children, but she gritted her teeth and put up with it for a bitter 2 years.

At the age of 16, the Horned King appeared in her life, and with that appearance, granted her powers that would alter her future.

Desiree was conscious of her powers, but wary about its usage. This was more so after she attempted to use her powers, and ended up spinning up a tornado that later became one of the more destructive tornadoes in England.

She swore off such wanton usage after that, and only used it for her convenience, and no more than that. Her life went on uneventfully until she finally became 18, and became officially an adult. She quickly left her orphanage for the hostel in Cambridge (sponsored by a scholarship), and never looked back.

Squid, Ravness, you're both accepted~

I'm hoping to get the RP started on Monday, assuming that all the bios I'm waiting on are up and accepted by that point. Wednesday would be the absolute latest I'd delay it to - if bios are still outstanding at that point, we'll just start without them and people can join as and when they're ready.

Regarding the two witch spaces left that haven't been filled - Darkness and Earth - if they aren't filled by the time we start, I'll do one of the following:
1) Take one of the two (likely Darkness) and throw the other spot open to whoever wants it.
2) Create a new witch with both powers who will serve as a more upfront, obvious antagonist than Poppy, who will be more cloak-and-dagger.
3) Make them both NPCs and give their powers away over the course of the story. Who gets them will depend entirely on who interacts with them the most, but unless someone comes up with a particularly good idea to bump them off, it'll likely be Poppy who gets their powers.
4) Leave them open, although I'd rather not have people join mid-RP
5) Write them off, although that'll result in having an incomplete elemental spectrum, as such.

Also, I'm going to have the Horned King and the Grey Goddess as NPCs as well, although the former will only appear when a witch is defeated, and the latter probably won't appear at all, unless someone has an idea which involves her presence.

...I KNEW I forgot to put something in my post. Why do I always forget things? :ffs:
Anyways, I'm sorry, but you are not accepted, Yaoi-Kitten. There is nothing to stop you from re-applying, though.

Bios pending *glares at Diar, Steve and Jess* I hope to start on Wednesday. I've still got a Knight bio to finish, although since that ties in with Diar's characters, that'll come after his...I'm also going to draft bios for the unfilled witch spots, so if you're interested in a second witch, say so now...I won't be distributing my reserve witches, though.

Alias: Tristana
True Name: Devola
Age: 35
Gender: Gender
Affiliation: Witches
Element: Blood
Appearance: Tall and slender at five foot ten, Tristana strikes an imposing figure, with thick, lustrous black hair that extends to her middle back and an arched, elegant face that seems delicate to look at, yet is full of nobility and pride.

Her eyes, once blue, have grown red, the use of her powers going so far as to change the pigments in her irises. Her complexion is slightly pale, yet not stunningly so, and her lips are a deep red in stark contrast to this paleness.

She prefers long sleeved, feminine clothes rather than the casual trousers and t-shirts of the contemporary unisex fashion. She wears a long sleeved red shirt with floral patterns embroidered into the sleeves, the waistline extending below her waist. Over the top, she wears a black leather jacket that would remind one more of the 30s.

Below the waist, Tristana favors long dresses, preferably in red or black, and black high heels, completing the darker, more feminine fashion of Tristana.

Personality: Somewhat cold and distant, it takes a while for Tristana to warm up to most people, with her sticking to polite, cool responses to most people and downright cold responses to those she wants to get away from.

Not one to mince words, Tristana will bluntly and curtly tell someone exactly what she’s thinking, regardless of how hurtful or socially inappropriate it is.

When she’s actually angry though, her personality does a complete 180, and she’ll scream threats endlessly until she’s somehow silenced. She knows a variety of vulgar words to make even the most seasoned war veteran cringe, and will use these words to their maximum effect to make sure everyone in a ten kilometer radius knows she’s angry.

With a disdain for humans born from years of hiding and persecution, Tristana couldn’t care less about them. She won’t go out of her way to harm them, and will in fact help them if she has to, she won’t deign to be much more than polite to them at best.

History: Born to a family of three, Tristana lost her mother when she was at a young age, as a result of her youngest sister, Poppy, coming into the world. While Tristana’s younger sister was outright abusive to Poppy, Tristana found ignoring her was sufficient, and managed to detach herself totally from her younger sister.

This was the beginning of a shift in personality for Tristana, as the formerly clingy mommy’s girl became a cold, detached individual. She allowed her younger sister to torment Poppy, and simply ignored her cries and pleas when she was there, which started happening less and less as she grew up. She started going out with a bad crowd, doing drugs and trying alcohol from as young as fifteen.

When she finally received a visit from the Horned King at sixteen, she saw it as a chance for change, and left home shortly after, practicing her powers in alleyways and other discreet places until she was subdued by several figures that discovered her one day.

Waking up in a small, secluded area, she was interrogated, to which she responded with vicious, vulgar taunts and threats, before being bundled in a truck, kept under constant guard by a young knight around her own age.

Eventually, the knight actually ended up talking to her, and the two actually got along rather well. In fact, they got along a little…too well. One thing led to another, and a rather ruffled looking Tristana hopped out of the truck shortly after.

9 months later a local foster home had one more child to care for.

Upon this completion of events, Tristana decided to visit her home again. Having not watched TV or listened to the radio since she’d left home, she had no idea what was waiting for her. A ruined husk of a building, filled with vines and chalk outlines where the corpses of her sister and father had lain, awaited her, and when a third corpse was missing, and a poppy lying in the center of the room where her family had died, she realized that it was Poppy who was responsible for this devastation.

Tristana then disappeared from history, and hasn’t been seen by any other Knights or humans to this day.

a question about shadow witch powers... does it allow control over shadows? if so can that extend to inside the human body, for example there is shaows in the body that a shadow manipulator can utilize.... can the darkness witch

EDIT::::
Alias: Naomi Hitsugari/ Nima
True Name: Terra callun

Age: 22
Gender: female
Affiliation: Witches
Element: Darkness

Appearance:
anime-cute-emo-girl.jpg

Her black and white clothing style leads her to appear alot more evil than she really is. and she is never without her headphones and ipod, pumping out the likes of my chemical romance and panic! at the disco, her eyeliner and makeup always on the heavy side, she has a tattoo on the back of each hands that looks like this:
Darkness_kanji.gif

Personality:

Naomi is a loner, she prefers to keep her distance from anything living and breathing that has the possibility of affecting her life or what she was doing at the time. Its this attitude that started the bad rumours about the quiet and shy girl that sat in the library all day and was never outside to play with the other kids.rumours of her worshipping the devil and practising the occult. she reveled in this, she used to pretend she was casting curses on her enemies and once went as far as smearing blood on someones face to stop them laughing. She became known for her spookiness and stand-offish nature. That isnt her, its just the way people forced her to behave, their actions caused hers, and in her mind that makes everything all right.

Her real personality, the one only a select few ever get the chance to see for more than 5 seconds, is kind and forgiving to a degree, she is friendly and giving, very nearly too much so, one time she nearly gave her name to someone who she had thought she could trust, as it turns out she couldnt and that caused a great chjange in this personality and the frequency of which people saw it, many of her "friends" only know the foreboding side of naomi.

so she continues to be nothing more than herself, openly weird and slightly spooky-looking, almost foreboding, but its not her true self, thats only her outward appearance, that she gives off to try and stop people getting close to her after what happened with her last friend, and remember never to judge a book by its cover, she is loving and caring, kind and considerate and entirely friendly, or rather she was, now despite still being nice and kind, she trusts noone. and has good reason, she was betrayed and that affected her deeply. She let someone in and they held it against her, trying to get leverage, this left her with great emotional scars and a distrusting personality.

Bio:
Nami was born alone in the darkness. she had felt alone all her life, or at least as far back as she can remember. she never felt like her family had cared for her, and it was difficult growing up with that neglect. instead of letting her sadness control her she mastered it, grew up despite them and became a rather strong girl. then the horned king came along, at first he had sounded perfect, rumours were that he was beautiful, so in her curiosity she sought him out. she was 16 at the time and had just finished growing up, then something both terrible and wonderful happened, the horned king gave her powers that best suited her personality and emotions.

She now found herself able to control darkness, whether it be to darken shadows or to make it more solid to trap unsuspecting victims, she did this to all the people that had ever bullied her, until they either atoned or died. eventually she was found out and the soldiers came hunting for her. She used her powers to escape and hasn't been seen in the light of day ever since. though she is still very much alive she has had many alias's and this is simply her current one. she has no idea where she came up with it it just seemed to fit her perfectly.

shortly after her 18th birthday she fell, hard and fast in love with someone, it was idyllic it was paradise it was wonderful, it was a lie. Even though she had hidden her magical existence almost perfectly, this man had found out about it, and knew the clause and wanted to get her name, he used her kindness and generosity as a foothold and it hurt her so much when he tried to take her name from her, but it didn't hurt her nearly as much as when she had to answer by choking him to death with an orb of darkness closing round his head and shutting off the oxygen.

That was 4 years ago now and still that vision haunts her dreams, its her past, her history its part of her nature, and she can never escape the judgements and consequences of her youth but then noone ever can or will. its all just part of the fabric of life, and she understands this better than anyone she knows.

Control over shadows, yes, to a degree - once they get hit by sunlight, they'll dissipate. Although regarding shadows in the body, no. I don't want her making people randomly explode. It has to be shadows that she can see.

Diar, you're accepted~

Yaoi-Kitten, for the moment, you are not accepted. I'll drop you a PM later on with details~

In other news, the RP has now officially begun! Get posting, people!

On a minor note, I'd prefer it if nobody witnessed Poppy's little killing spree in the first post, I'd like to her introduce her to people in a different fashion. Feel free to be at the crime scene, but I'd prefer it if people didn't know she was the one responsible~

Also, for those of you who still have characters outstanding (Jess, Diar, Steve) don't worry too much about it, just post your bios in here when you're ready. By the end of this week would be fantastic, though. Beyond the three of you, as well as those who have expressed an interest in the RP (Yaoi-Kitten, Soulcorruptor, and possibly Emerald Fire) I will not be accepting signups for the RP past Sunday. So, anyone who has been browsing this thread thinking about signing up, you have until then to make your minds up~

The bio for my knight, Heath, will be up at a later point today...I'll probably edit this post with it later on. I may also make a second witch bio. Also, since there are only going to be two or three knights, feel free to make your own Knight NPCs, as and when you need them. Just don't go killing them off too quickly or easily. xD

Also, I think I mentioned this, but I'll be playing the part of the Horned King when necessary, as well: he appears before witches once they have acquired new abilities from another one of their sisters. So, please let me know if/when you lose your powers, so I can bring him in.

Also, for dropping out the RP: if you ever decide you want to, you need to pass your powers on to someone else, so we don't have a massive plothole to deal with. Unless you work it out with another person you've been interacting with, Poppy will be the recipient, since she's the main villain.

ok I made my first post, hopefully it is ok.

Also i noticed my picture in my Bio disappeared :rage: So I am either going to have to refind it or pick a new picture :sad3:

I'll get around to my bio soooon, my life's been so hectic lately. XD weddings, papers/homework, family shit... it's just awful. XD I'll get to it though! definitely by Sunday, if not by tomorrow night.

Sorry it took so long for me to get my bio up.

Name: Ardis

Appearance:

Eye color: Azure blue

Age: 20

Height: 5’6’’

Weight: 178 lbs

Gender: Male

Hair color and length: Brown colored hair that is very short cropped in a military style way.

Has only about two inches of hair completely around his head. Attire: Wears dark red Swede boots that come up to his ankles. Has a pair of black pants, with the entire left leg missing actually, so his left leg is exposed from his knee cap down. Has an ornate silver chain on his right side of his waist that wraps around his sword sheathe on his left side of his waist, it is this way he can use his sheathe as a sort of weapon for his sword. His shirt is a crimson red and is also a full sleeve shirt. He also wears a golden necklace in the shape of a thunder bolt around his neck.

Weapons: A one handed four and half foot long katana. This is the weapon which is infused with the lightning element.

Two individual nine inch long punching daggers(Katars). Wrist mounted they cover the back off his hands.

Personality:

A caring and devoted friend, however his trust is hard to earn. Though once his trust is earned, nothing will stand in his way to protect his friends. He is mostly carefree and care little about politics and such. His strong sense of justice makes him turn no blind eye or ear for help, thus lays a weakness of his. Many times have some people taken advantage of this and often tried manipulating him to do dirty work.

Also he has found himself on the constant butt end of jokes for his caring nature. He has went after alleged thieves only to find the person in question and who asked for help laughing in his face. This has lead to a small self doubt in himself if he is truly worthy of being a knight. So some upon looking at him may take him for quite a meek person when in fact he is a bit retrospective. He has begun to always question if hes on the right path.

First impression:

Upon first glance many people would think Ardis is a slight oddball. He wears a look upon his face that makes it seem he is always lost. Though the way he holds himself says something different. He holds himself with an air of pride, one could assume he has seen many fights and some he barely walked away from.

History:
Ardis didn't have much growing up, he was a middle child of three siblings. Both his siblings were sisters. His older sister was seven years older then him and his younger sister three years younger then him. Their mother was the one who stayed at home. Since they lived with her parents who were now to old to take care of themselves their mother in a sense had to take care of five people when raising her children. Besides the occasional help his younger sister Alias gave their mother she did all the cooking and the cleaning. His older sister worked at one of the local bakeries and as such was hardly around. She was being trained to take over the shop one day, as it was more of a privately owned store instead of a chain business. Their father also had a touch and go job they kept him from home. He did contracting work for building repairs outside of town. So he was often gone four to five days a week.

So being the only male inside of the house he obviously got along with his grand-father really well. He would hear many stories of how his grand-father served as a knight. Since he was never informed as to what kind of knight Ardis always assumed it was one of the queen's guards to the country, and he just got to old so they let him go. Still hearing so many storied of honor and courage Ardis grew up with an idealistic view of the world somewhat. He hated seeing people being taken advantage of and the strong oppressing the weak. His life continued like normal until he was twelve years of age. Ardis came home to a truly terrifying site, both his grand parents lied on the floor murdered. The rest of his family was away either working or out doing some shopping. Unable to take the sight before him he ran, he did not know where but he was stopped when he ran into a metallic like object. A loud thud was all he remembered before falling unconscious.

Ardis woke up a few hours later, the person he bumped into introduced himself as Din, a knight for the Grey Goddess. When Ardis told him his name the knight was shocked, he recently heard of the murder of his grandparents and went to investigate. Din then told Ardis that he knew his grandfather and that he used to be a former knight of the Grey Goddess. The reason why his grandfather left was he grew tired of the fighting and wanted a normal life, so he passed his powers on to Din whom his grandfather trained. Now Din offered the same to Ardis after explaining to him it may have been a witch that killed him. Ardis was overwhelmed, all the stories his grandfather told him were true and now something from his past may have killed him. Ardis stayed silent for a moment taking in Din's words, and then he accepted.

Now after training for eight years always working for some unseen gold the Grey Goddess spoke to him in his mind. She told him he had achieved a skill level worthy enough to wield a portion of her power and asked him what he would do if given it. Ardis responded with that he would hunt down the witches to eliminate their kind from this world. At that instant the Katana he carried with him glowed a dim yellow light and the Grey Goddess explained that she blessed his sword with the power if Lightning and that he was know a true knight for the Grey Goddess. With this new power in hand he sets forth on a journey to eliminate the witches and avenge the murder of his grandparents.

I'd like to reserve Earth Witch and Lightning Knight, please. The templates will be up between anytime today and the next few days.

Sorry people - busy busy busy. Plus I was actually waiting on a couple of profiles :ahmed:

Soul, you are accepted. Sorry for the wait, and thanks for taking a Knight, as well - we really need some. There are (or should be) a grand total of four now.

Ami, consider Earth reserved~

I'll make another post later on, perhaps have Poppy stir things up a few more posts after that, although we're not waiting on anyone to get things moving~

EDIT: Here is the slightly overdue profile for my Knight, Heath:

Weapon: Rapier
Element: Spirit

Appearance: Heath is roughly 6’4” in height, making him a towering, imposing figure. He has a slightly square-ish face, with finely chiselled features, narrow, close-set eyes that have a tendency to squint, and a thin, narrow line for a mouth. Despite this, Heath’s facial features are quite expressive, and would be considered passable handsome by many woman, given his fairly long, loose black hair, which he does not tie back. Heath’s skin is relatively evenly tanned, and his body is moderately muscled, given his line of work. His arms and chest are crisscrossed with thin, hairline scars, which stop just short of his neck. He is garbed in a long brown trench coat, to allow him to hide his rapier in public, and underneath this he wears simple clothing: a pair of khaki combat trousers, a plain long-sleeved shirt (Heath disdains the armour most Knights wear, because it’s extremely noticeable and damned hot in the summer) and some thick-soled black boots. Heath also wears leather gloves, to prevent any impromptu skin contact with random civilians

Personality: Heath is, externally, the last person you would expect to be a Knight of a religious order. He is quick to laugh, and has a tongue far sharper than his sword, delivering cutting, tongue-in-cheek remarks with every other sentence, in such a way that suggests he views the entire situation as amusing. Heath’s sense of humour is often highly inappropriate for the situation at hand, making others frown upon him at the very least, although their reactions are often far more severe. In times when jokes are far from appropriate, Heath will make a joke, often poorly delivered, in some attempt to lighten the mood, although he will often be met only with blank stares. This clownish persona irritates the vast majority of his brothers greatly, not only because it is highly inappropriate for a Knight of the Goddess, but because the initiates worship him for it.

Heath often gives others the distinct impression through his humour that, not only he does not care about anything, he looks down upon those who do, although this is far from the truth: humour is simply Heath’s way of dealing with his personal demons: his failure to meet the expectations of the Goddess, his brothers and, ultimately, himself. Even before his transgression with Tristana, Heath was a man consumed by guilt, and his only way of dealing with this was to make light of it. Since his first failure, Heath’s guilt has only grown stronger, yet it is not guilt over his failure that haunts him: it is guilt that he does not feel as bad as he should, and that he does not even care what his brothers think of him. Despite the fact that Tristana is a witch, and the enemy, Heath believes that letting her go was the right decision, and that the Goddess understands his plight: he is, after all, only human, sword or no. His relationship with her – or what he believes to be his relationship with her, for Heath is a romantic at heart – is not something that he can regret, nor is their child. His inability to regret his choices is Heath’s primary source of guilt.

Like many Spirit Knights, Heath is a man who thinks with his heart, and not with his head. He trusts his instincts implicitly, leading him to make many irrational or impulsive decisions in the eyes of others, which is further accentuated by his apparent self-centredness. Heath does not see himself as an irrational man: he believes that feelings and instincts must be acted upon, lest the moment is lost and regret takes hold. He is a compassionate man, always willing to help where help is needed, although some would call him naïve, for Heath truly believes that he can make a difference in the world if he tries. However, this is more due to his optimistic outlook on life than it is naivety. Heath does not approve of negative thinking; to him it is because people believe that they cannot make a difference that they do not, even when they try to. One must have firm conviction in one belief’s if one is to realise those beliefs, and Heath is a man who leads by example: he expects nothing more from others than he expects from himself. He is an idealist, and he refuses to even allow the thought that he is working in vain to create a better world to slip into his head: he can and will accomplish his objective to make the world a better place to live in, it is simply a matter of when. His self-righteousness and apparent willingness to put his own beliefs over the commands of his Goddess is what aggravates some of the senior Knights, also. Having bonded with a witch, Heath does not believe they are all inherently evil and that, like people and even Knights, they are all different. He does not believe that force is required in dealing with them, a view which, to his brothers, borders on blasphemy.

Heath is not a man in a crisis of faith: he has devoted his life to the Grey Goddess, and will continue to serve her even should she reject him – which he is surprised that she has not yet done – and in his devotion, he displays the purity of all Knights, purity that, whilst he believes is tainted, is not. Whilst he is wracked by guilt, he is not a man to dwell upon the past: he has made his choices, and he refuses to allow regret to consume him, when he knows that is precisely what he should do. Instead, he attempts to carry on with his life as best he can, for there is little else that he CAN do. At the end of the day, he does what he can, just as anyone else in his position would.

Bio: Heath was initiated into the Order at a late stage, when he was ten years old; five years older than most candidates. His Master, Raphael, was a highly-respected Spirit Knight, widely regarded as one of the greatest Knights there was, and caught the young Heath, a street urchin, attempting to pick his pockets. Taking pity on the child, he took him back to the temple, using his influence to take him as an apprentice: Heath was far too old to join the initiate’s class, and those of his own age would likely bully him for his inexperience. Raphael took the boy under his wing, instructing him in the Grey Goddess’ teachings, although his lessons were in compassion, rather than in combat. He taught his apprentice the basics of swordplay, but also taught him when not to fight, and that diplomacy, rather than violence, would be a better way of treating with witches. They were, he explained, people, just like the Knights or any other regular person, they had simply been given gifts by a twisted, misguided deity. It was the job of a Knight to bring them off the destructive path they walked, not to walk it themselves.

After Raphael was killed by a witch, Heath fell into despondency, locking himself in his old Master’s room for over a week, refusing to come out. It took three Earth Knights to break down the door and drag him out of the room, a spectacle that made him almost as legendary as his deceased master. At the age of fifteen, he was still a year too young to become a Knight, so he instead joined the novice’s class, displaying a frightening intensity in his studies, and a vicious streak in combat that required the instructor to utilise his own abilities to get the sword out of Heath’s hand. His skills quickly became as legendary as his Master’s and, when Heath became a Knight at the age of sixteen, following in his Master’s footsteps and becoming a Spirit Knight, he was widely seen as Raphael reborn, or perhaps even greater, for he lacked his Master’s compassion when it came to witches. He was, in every way, the perfect tool for the Grey Goddess.

Heath’s first official assignment, however, turned out to be something of a disaster: after a severe number of casualties, the brotherhood finally captured a witch, and were holding her for interrogation in some attempt to gather information of her sisters, before they transported her to their main temple on England, so that her spirit could be absorbed by the Grey Goddess. Heath was meant to be a simple guard…however; he had the misfortune of touching her when she was thrown into the truck, her mental defences almost entirely down, and thus wide open to his powers, which he had tapped into through his sword, which was unsheathed and in his hand. Her entire life, every thought and feeling, was unveiled before him and, he would later discover, the same had happened for her. At first, Heath resisted, seeing this unravelling of her spirit as simply a ploy to escape. He could not bring himself to forgive this witch for the death of his Master, even though he could see that she was not the one responsible, and eventually the silence between the two of them grew so tense that he had to speak out to her, although his words were not as damning as he would have liked. The way they spoke to one another, whilst scathing and hurtful on the surface, revealed that they knew and understood one other intimately as a result of the contact, and were bound whether they liked it or not. One thing quickly led to another, and Heath allowed her to escape, cutting her bonds, and then himself, with his sword, giving her a five minute head start before calling on the guards, a bloody mess, explaining that she had used her powers to escape, cutting herself on a jagged surface in the truck before overpowering him.

Unsurprisingly, Heath was in disgrace after this episode: he was sent back to the main temple in England and kept there for interrogation. Fortunately, none discovered the truth: few Knights chose the path of Spirit, and Heath’s mind was firmly closed to them; they had no choice but to accept his word. He was just a rookie who showed some promise, but had been thrown in too deep and too early. It had been unreasonably of the Order’s senior Knights to expect a fledgling Knight, no matter how brilliant, to be able to cope with a Witch. Despite this, Heath was kept in the temple for two entire years, instructing underage initiates in sword practice and performing other, menial tasks, and his reputation was sorely damaged: he faced several challenges from his brothers and, whilst he won all of them, it did nothing to enhance his credibility. From becoming one of the most admired and revered Knights in the Order, Heath became one of the most disdained, and his personality changed drastically: he lost his bitterness, and became a quieter, more passive figure.

Two years after his dalliance, Heath was given another chance, being sent this time to investigate a rather brutal murder that had occurred in the countryside, resulting in the house being burned down and a man and his daughter being burned beyond all recognition…although the post-mortem had revealed that the girl had been stung to death, whilst her father appeared to have been crushed by fast-growing roots, and the police were stumped as to how precisely this could have happened. What was the strangest thing about the affair, however, was that the entire house had quickly been taken over by plant life not native to the area, and they had difficulty even getting in. Heath, possessing a residue of Tristana’s spirit, knew the place intimately: it was the house she had grown up in, and the two corpses were her father and sister. However, of her youngest sister, there was no sign, and the evidence of a single poppy resting in the debris, unharmed despite the fire, gave Heath an idea of where she might be. He reported back to the Order’s senior Knights that a new witch had indeed been born, and requested that he be allowed to track her, having gained a sense of her movements and nature from the crime scene (in truth, he had gained no such thing, and was operating purely on his fragmented recollection of Tristana’s life, and what little she knew of her youngest sister) and was given approval.

Heath discovered his son when he was six years old: he recognised him for what he was immediately, and took him into foster care, keeping him at the Temple to be raised and trained by the entire brotherhood. He said nothing of the boy’s conception, to either the boy himself – although he had an uncanny knack for knowing things that set Heath slightly on edge on occasion – or to his brothers, and none of the Knights questioned his story: Heath was notoriously shy around women, and some even believed he was “batting for the other team”, so they readily believed that the two had nothing in common besides appearance, hence the adoption. Knights frequently took foster children in to be initiates of the Order in any case, so it was not unusual. Heath desired to take the boy as his apprentice, but he had never fully redeemed himself from his first failure, and he was still on the trail of his mother’s younger sister; it would not have been fair to burden the boy so. Not to mention that, the more time they spent together, the higher the probability that their relationship would be discovered, and then they’d both be in serious trouble.

Heath continued to search for Poppy (and, secretly, Tristana) over the years, forever finding traces, but not the witches themselves. He became something of an outcast and a rogue amongst the Order, never staying in one place for too long. Many Knights simply ignored his presence, although he became something of an inspiration for the younger initiates: a lone Knight, hot upon the trail of the most vicious witch that the Order knew of, a fairy-tale made real. For his part, Heath would always make an effort to visit the temple, offering his prayers to the Goddess and, on occasion, giving a duelling lesson, but never staying for very long. Six months ago, Poppy’s trail led back to London, and Heath has been there ever since, sensing that the woman is now tired of running, and supremely unconcerned as to who finds her, although he cannot figure out the source of her newfound confidence. Either way, he hopes to be the one to find her first, so that he may grant her a swift death, and save Tristana from any more pain, for one thing is absolutely clear to him: if she finds her first, half of London will likely be destroyed before one of them succeeds in killing the other…

I'll probably have a bio for the one remaining witch, Darkness, up in a few days. With the exception of Jess, Diar and Steve, applications are now closed, unless you had your heart set on participating...in which case, we can discuss it privately~
