~+Tales of FFF+~The Role Play

"Keep attacking! Don't give him a chance to regenerate!!!"

Julius yelled as he stood up and leaned against a nearby wall. The knight knew that Armageddon was near being obliterated, but he wanted to make sure that the monster would never return. Julius was coughing blood and sweating, the pain and suffering that he was enduring could be noticed on his face.

Meanwhile Armageddon was struggling to survive, or at least preserve his own spirit but our heroes were making this task quite difficult. Growls and screams could be heard as the countless attacks pierced through Armageddon's body. Many of his body parts began to banish, his flesh began to deteriorate and burn as Arthvader's and Hejaloki's attacks continued.

Armageddon: "What is this power? This incredible power?!"

Julius: "You don't understand it already, do you? This incredible power, humanity's greatest weapon is......our faith!!!!!!"

Armageddon: "Whether if it's a demon, a witch, a half elf, or a human...you are all fools in the end......aaaahhhhhhhhhhhh...."

Still transfixed with his opponent's blade, Armageddon slowly fell in his knees, his eyes widened and he began to cough blood that was black and corrupted as the demon's soul. Away from the demon, Julius gathered the last ounce of his strength, reached the handle of his rapier, and charged towards Armageddon. Suddenly all around them began to slow down as if time itself was struggling to keep moving forward. A heart could be heard pounding, footsteps echoed through the air and the sounds of Julius' blade piercing Armageddon's heart suddenly broke the time delay and everything returned to normal. A thunderous growled swallowed all other sounds, the demon was finally finished and disappeared in a blinding explosion. Julius was sent crashing against the wall. His sword fell next to him, shattered and bathed in Armageddon's blood. Suddenly, the tower began to tremble and everything started to slowly collapse all around them.

"The demon intends to bury us alive!! You must all make haste and escape before it's too late. I'll stay, I must seal the remains of the demon within this dark realm. I can't allow him to return..."

Julius turned his sight to Lucius, the young knight's body remained lifeless on the floor, with a deep wound where once his heart once was beating. Julius sighed and stared to the ground.

"Shenorai, take my brother and give him a proper burial. Even after all those cruel acts he committed,he is still a human, he doesn't deserves to have this castle as his grave...."

"I can give you mortals extra time but not much." Hejaloki stuck his sword in the castle floor. The castle started to collapse a lot slower.

"Hurry I cant hold it forever." Hejaloki boomed. He glowed extremely bright in the darkness

Once more the demon his fell, hopefully for the last, Hejaloki thought.

"Listen to hejaloki. I'll stay with him to make sure Armageddon stays dead."

Julius reached his rapier and stood next to Hejaloki, expecting the last forces of darkness to attempt to strike them down. The lesser demons that remained on the castle crawled from the depths of oblivion, surrounding Hejaloki and Julius. Julius slashed through them with his swift moves and struck down as many as he could, he would not allow Hejaloki to fall.

"Hurry up! We can't hold much longer! Everyone leave now! You too Zeria and that's an order. My last order..."

Zeria stood there unmoving.

"No...."

This was a shock. She had never ever refused an order from him before, and she'd sworn to always obey him.

"I'm not leaving....I'm staying here with you. If you die, I die. That's how it works. I'll use what abilities I can to keep this place up...my earth technique may be able to break the fall...."

She walked to his side and held out her hand.

"What do you say, Julius...one last stand.....together?"

There was a twinkle in her eyes...a shimmer of compassion...there was no backing down now. This was it. This was going to be the end....but Julius wouldn't go through it alone. She was going to remain there by his side until she died...that was the oath she took when she swore loyalty to him.

FFGuy rose from the slash to the floor, The castle was collapsing and there did not seem to be any way to escape, he had regained control of his wings and he turned to face Zeria and Julius. he let his wings fly to their full extent and approached his allies, he extended his hand and called out to them.

FFGuy: take my hand! the castle is falling, I will take us to safety!

Hejaloki turned to Zeria, while still keeping the castle aloft, "Go with FFGuy. It isn't your time to die and if you are loyal to Julius do as he says don't let him die in vain. Do not let his last thoughts be of your death, make his last moments of happiness that you are alive, Zeria."

Argh, Hejaloki stumbled a little and a piece of the castle fell off in the corner.

"Hurry go I am loosing control of holding this castle together for much longer."

The bounty hunter's wings were spread out to either side of herself as she slowly descended beside Lucius' fallen form. As she listened to Julius' instructions, her eyes fell upon his brother's corpse.

"Such a grave was not intended for you either, Julius," the young woman sighed, her voice solemn despite the battle that they all seemed to be a part of.

Shenorai knelt down beside her fallen knight, taking a moment to actually look at what has become of him. Although the life in his eyes had been long gone by now, the pain he suffered seemed to have lingered behind. Her fingers were hesitant as they reached out and rested upon his brow, gently stroking down his face and closing his eyelids.

Though the additional weight of the armor made it difficult to lift the body, Shenorai hoisted him over her shoulders, doubling over as she stood up to better support the weight. Praying her wings would be strong enough to carry herself and Lucius, she turned to take in perhaps the last look at the living twin.

"Lord Julius Argexis Silverwing Van Retsimar. It has been an honor. We shall see each other again."

The voice was Shenorai's, yet it wasn't. The younger voice of Leondra flowed through as well, the two voices entwined within each other. Although Leondra kept the expression solemn, Shenorai's tears streaked down her cheeks. Yes, she seemed certain that she was going to see the young lord again. However, the thought of the manner of his future appearance seemed to instill dread. She was one of very few who could see the spirits of the dead.

However, now was not the time for dread and trepidation. Shenorai's voice raised as she called for the other two who did not bear wings.

"Arthvader! Zeria! Come on, let's GO!"

"NO! I'm not leaving! I promised to remain by Julius' side until I die, that's what I'm going to do!"

There was no way she would leave. Nothing could make her. She extended her hand to Julius again.

"What do you say, Sir Julius? One last fight...together?"

(( I thought that Neo Ex-Death was going to appear near the entrance of the castle, as if it were preventing the group from escaping o_O))

"Zeria, do as I say! Your orders are to leave and regroup with the rest of the cadets. You are disobeying a direct order from your superior. Do as you are told, and leave this place. Please..."

Julius turned his sight from Zeria and began to use his magic to sustain the castle. Along with Hejaloki, they would have not much than half an hour to escape. Julius knew that even though FFGuy could take Zeria, he wouldn't be able to carry all of them. The man then remembered that Vegnya's airship was nearby, so he proceeded to tell them to escape with Vegnya.

"FFGuy, take them to the castle courtyard. I am sure that Vegnya's airship should be nearby. I want you to deliver her a S.O.S. message. Now take Zeria and lead the rest of them outside. Force Zeria to leave if you have to...."

Julius rose his hands and summoned from within his veins the powers once entrusted to him as successor of the Lord of Darkness. He infused the castle with purified energy that, working alongside Hejaloki's spells, was the only thing preventing the castle from crashing against the nearby mountains to the north of the Castle Silverwing. Before focusing his energy once again, Julius bid farewell to both Arthvader and Shenorai. "Arthvader, thanks for being a worthy opponent and a great ally. May God smile upon your path and bring you great fortune. Shenorai...I thank you as well for giving my brother some peace in a lifetime of war and sorrow....it has been an honor to meet you....you know...I would have loved to see you married with my bro...oh well.....never mind....good luck..."

Zeria looked down even more, her whole body shaking.

"You always tell me to go...leave you behind...and I always listen....BUT I WON'T!"

She ran next to him.

"I'm going to help you, whether you like it or not! This is the one order I must disobey! I'll accept whatever punishment you give me, but I'm not leaving you and Hejaloki here to save us. I will help!"

Zeria began to focus what little strength she had left and even tapped into her demon's power. Then, she began to summon the earth to start rising upwards, hopefully making it in time to support the falling castle.

"If you're going down, I'm going down with you!"

Knowing what Julius wanted, arthvader quickly appeared Zeria. He then gave a powerful blow on the back of her neck, causing her to fall down unconscious.

Arthvader "Sorry if I had to do that, Zeria, but I had no choice. Julius just wanted what's best for you. I feel the same pain as you do, but I feel as if I have done more than enough for Julius's sake. Now, Let's go."

Arthvader then picked up the unconscious Zeria, and headed towards Shenorai.

Arthvader "Shen, let's get out. I bet Vengya is waiting for us at the entrance."

As the warriors left the tower, Julius and Hejaloki found themselves alone with the corruption of this castle once again. Their lives drained to keep the castle afloat were slowly diminished. Sensing his inevitable doom, Julius came up with an idea.

"Heja, could you please use one of those soul gems and use it to sustain the castle for at least a few minutes? I think that If I use part of my soul to fuel the soul orb. If it comes to a higher price, I'll pay it."

Julius knew that the creation of the soul orb would cost him more than some of his energy. If he remembered well, this same ritual was used a long time ago by an ancient mage, who later disappeared leaving to trace behind.

"Heja, one last thing: don't tell them...specially not Zeria. She would never understand..."

Hejaloki looked at Julius. So another mortal willing to give his life for the greater good.

All Hejaloki did was nod. For he was the ancient mage that did the ritual.

Hejaloki stopped channeling and created a soul orb.

"Farewell Julius, may we meet again in the afterlife." With that Hejaloki lay his hand on Julius' forehead. He used his body to channel Julius' soul into the orb.

Julius collapsed.

Then it was complete, Hejaloki had to use all of Julius' soul to have enough energy to hold the castle up. Hejaloki set the orb on the castle floor and chanted some phrases. Then he lifted Julius' lifeless body and flied out of the castle to the unknown land.

Enshrouded in darkness, seeing himself trapped between the world of the living and the non existence of death, Julius' fragmented soul struggled to survive. In a place where everything was absolute nothingness, where life and death were equal, where time made absolutely no difference, Julius felt unable to recover his consciousness. Suddenly, shadows and ghostly hands and claws surrounded Julius in a deadly embrace, a familiar dark presence lurked nearby. He felt his life drained, fused with the soul orb and used to feed the castle's hunger. Julius eyelids felt too heavy to open, and his arms and legs were numb. Before himself, inside this shadowy and hellish realm, Julius felt his life and memories shattered into pieces, slowly fading away like dust. The last he forgot, was his own identity. In fact, bound as he was and drained of all memories in exchange for the soul orb, Julius could be considered as dead.

No One saw Hejaloki or the lifeless Julius fly way.

Hejaloki continued flying away from Julius' friends and the castle. He felt there was still something left in Julius and it was losing. So Hejaloki concentrated and went into the mind of Julius.

There he saw the remaining parts of Julius' soul being taken by dark claws. Hejaloki appeared in the mind as a bright light of hope and reached out for the remaining part of the soul.

"Come take my hand and this nightmare will end."

The dark entity struggled to keep its grip on Julius' soul, but due to how weak the demon's powers were, he finally gave up. The demon, with a striking resemblance with the Silverwing Twins, thought what was best for his survival, and decided to shatter what remained of Julius' memories and cause him a seemingly unrepairable amnesia. The demon, slowly banishing like mist, warned Hejaloki about he would return.

"Hejaloki, you as always meddling in other people's affairs. Very well, you have won but hear this: The darkness comes...and nothing will stop it..."

The demon disappeared, leaving no trace of his existence within Julius' mind. After a few moments, Julius regained consciousness and found himself carried by Hejaloki away from the castle. The young knight was confused, without any apparent knowledge of who his own identity.

"Who...who are you?" He asked, though unable to take any action. Soon they would land on a nearby mountain, and talk about the tragedies to come.

Hejaloki landed on a mountain a few miles away from where the castle was. He knew Julius couldn't remember anything.

"Young human I am the Archangel Hejaloki. Ask me any questions you have."

He stares down at Julius.

(OOC: I am not going to say his name.)

Zeria groaned and awoke to find Arthvader carrying her.

"Arth?"

Then, it hit her. He'd knocked her out and taken her away from Julius. She began to squirm and try to get away, despite her injuries.

"Put me down! I have to go back to him! He can't die on me! He can't! JULIUS!"

"What are we doing here?"

The young man stared to Hejaloki with distrust. He knew little about whether Hejaloki was an enemy or not, and of course he was not going to risk being caught off guard. Julius placed his right hand on a wound he hand on his left shoulder, and leaned against a tree.

"I just saved your life young mortal. I had to land so I can take you to a town."

Hejaloki points and look into the distance from the castle. Hejaloki knew this wouldnt be easy.
