Sandra's harsh winter storms had finally let up, leaving behind a blanket of snow upon the grounds. Ice shimmered upon the walls of the castle and footsteps upon the snow resulted in a rather delightful crunch with each step. The clouds had gone and the sun was lazily drifting across the sky, giving the castle and the city below it an aura of purity and peace.

Behind the castle, barely within its shadow, a figure stood out amongst the field of white. Her boots protected her feet from being invaded by the powder of the snow, which was barely reaching over her toes. Her hooded, scarlet coat was frayed at the edges, but still gave her the warmth she needed. She must have been crazy to wear shorts in this sort of weather. In any case, she was here and awaited the arrival of fellow fighters. Once she heard the crunch of the snow, she turned and witnessed the first flock of trainees crossing the grounds to meet her. With a smirk, the woman greeted the newcomers.

"Welcome to the training grounds! Here, we shall practice how to battle in both duels and general role-plays. Approved bios will not be required here. Both beginners and role-playing veterans are welcome, for it is here that we will brush up on our skills. As the trainees exchange blows in a bout, we will give you advice at the end of your session.

"Just remember that these grounds are meant for sparring. Meaning we are only practicing here. There is no need to kill anyone, though there is a medical tent off to the side if we need to treat injuries.

"Now...who wishes to train?"

Atristus stepped forward awkwardly, he had no idea why he decided to come to this training ground, but he knew that he had gone awhile without a true fight. His swordarm growled for action.

"I'll train" he said as he walked forward awaiting her response.

Arthvader arrived one day to the training ground to practice his skills for future battles.

Arthvader : "I have arrived. Now to begin the training."

Atristus drew his long blade, the ruby center gleaming in glare of the white snow. He stared at Arthvader trying to study his weaknesses. A wisp of green mist began to evelope his arm as he started to enchant his blade with the power of air. He pointed his sword at Arthvader, awaiting an action.

Arthvader, sensing Atristus magical power within his sword, decided to draw out his Mana Sword. He then began to enchant his sword with the power of Earth. He then focused his attention on Atristus, with his sword pointed on the ground.

Arthvader : "Don't think i'm going to go easy on you now, huh? Now Come on out, Holy Phoenix!"

and with his shout, the Phoenix arrives to Arthvader's side.

Suddenly feeling a great sense of power, Atristus looked up at the great bird.
"Ha, this should be a fun fight" he said with a smirk. Atristus dashed at Arthvader and began to lauch a series of harsh blows, ignoring the phoenix.

Arthvader, with the intention to start the fight with a bang, decided to cast a spell at Atristus, while dodging most of his attacks, taking damage during the attack..

Arthvader : "I hope you're ready for this. Gibarta!!! now phoenix, follow it up with Fira!!!"

Arthvader sent a spell that shot ice pillars at three directions, hitting Atristus in the process. The phoenix, getting behind Atristus, burned the ice pillars, burning Atristus in the process.

Atristus yelped in pain as he was scorced by the phoenix's fira spell, however, the damage was lesseded by his mythril vest which insulated part of him from fire.

Recovering from the attack, Atristus exclaimed aerotes, pointing his outstretched hand towards the phoenix. An array of deadly wisps of cutting winds flew at the bird.

"Well, now that we have two, why don't you two start off?"

Shen walks over towards the medical tent and pulls out a pair of wooden swords from a barrel. She tosses one to each of them and leans on the barrel.

"Let's start off with three moves (posts) each. Don't bruise each other too much."

EDIT: OOC; Whoops...eh, ignore that, then. ^^; Six posts each, including what you've posted.

Arthvader : "I guess we'll have to use these wooden swords then, huh Atristus. Any ways, Phoenix, dodge them."

As the phoenix dodges the attacks, even though it took damage. Arthvader charged towards Atristus and gave a flurry of slashes at the chest and leg areas.

Atristus used the air to propel him into the air, dodging the attacks while coming down and striking at Arthvaders back.

"Not so fun without your mana sword huh?" Atristus commented with a smirk.

Arthvader : "Don't be so sure, Atristus, look behind you. Phoenix, THUNDAGA!!!!"

The phoenix, flying behind Atristus, casted a powerful bolt of lightning that blasted Atristus in the air, dropping him down to the floor.

"Next time, watch out for lightning. now, Earth Prison!"

using the ability of his mana sword, Arthvader sealed Atristus in a cage of vines and thorns.

the wielder of the mana sword is capable of casting earth magic, whether they are actually using the sword or not.

ok then, sorry :)

Atristus struggled under the vines and thorns gripping him. He uttered a few words and a gust of wind cut through the cage of material holding him, with a shout he sent a few more wind bolts towards the phoenix and one towards Arthvader, sending him back a few yards.

Suddenly, the two contenders had a ball of slush smash into their necks. Shenorai was playfully tossing a third slush ball in her gloved hand with a smirk.

"All right gentlemen, I believe that's enough play for now," she called out to the two of them, announcing the end of the bout. "Come out of the mud and get patched up in the tent."

Indeed, the grounds that were once covered with pure snow was now blotched with patches of mud and blackened grass. The slush had sunk into the ground and created several puddles already. Shen's boots crunched upon the snow near the tent as she lifted the cloth doorway.

"And while you're in there," she noted, "there are a few people inside who were watching. Listen to their advice and they will point out how you two can improve."

In the distance, the tall, dark silhouette of a man appeared from behind a large column connected to the castle’s outer wall. He sauntered over towards the training grounds, vaguely glancing towards the current participants. As he came closer, he could be seen in a slightly descriptive light. His hair was long; hanging below his shoulders in heavy chocolate colored waves. His body was tall, and slender, and he wore a simple set of black trousers along with a loose white collared shirt which knotted at the side. In his hand, he held a tarnished silver colored mug, from which he took several eager drinks as he strolled by. After taking several quick glimpses towards the battle partakers, he quickly made his way towards the medical tent just outside the training grounds...

Atristus slowly walked towards the medical tent, not sure of what he would find inside. He stopped just outside and dropped his wooden sword in the barrel, then lifted the flap and stepped inside.

a man with a dark aura surrounding him started to approach the training grounds wondering how it had appeared suddenly following his curiousity he drew his sword light bane and walked toward the grounds the blade of his sword began to materialise it had a giant ruby encrusted in the hilt and the blade was made of the strongest mithril and had words of death and darkness engraved onto the flat of the blade it was roughly 4ft long and the blade was 10 inches wide and could never break the clothing of the man changed as well into a blood red cape and black shirt and light leg armour and his hair was long messy and as black as the abyss with a demonic symbol engraved into his arm which gave him the ability to summon demons including the devil itself when he had reached the grounds he announced his name, FFGuy!

As Arthvader walked towards the tent, he put his wooden sword in the barrel. He then walked towards the tent. there, he let his phoenix heal both him and Atristus. The phoenix sets up a healing barrier around the tent that will heal all wounds.
