Training Grounds

FFGuy sees the phoenix and considers it a holy beast so it should be destroyed but before challenging it he thought he might gather information about who had the power and strength to even match his darkness so he started searching the grounds for evidence

Atristus sat in the phoenix's healing bubble waiting for Shenorai to arrive in the tent. He saw a stranger with a dark aura permeating from around him. Atristus eyed the stranger carefully, anticipating the worst that could happen.

Shenorai tossed the ball of wet snow aside and ducked inside the tent, blowing onto her hands to warm her fingers. She pulled up one of the chairs and took a seat backwards, resting her crossed arms on the back of the chair. Her gaze shifted from the other visitors to the healing contenders.

"Now," Shen began, a bit of instruction in her tone, "who here can offer Artristus and Arthvader some advice about their last bout? Any takers?"

"Ehmm..." Eldon cleared his throat and approached Shenorai as she entered the tent and announced a call for suggestions. He sat his drinking mug down on a small table nearby and tilted his head from side to side, making a few stiff cracking noises in the process. He shifted his weight to one side, and placed his hand on his hip. "I can offer a few tips and pointers here and there. I came in time to see the end of that last match, but I've seen enough to make a clear judgement about the fighters."

He turned around and faced the two trainees, then crossed his arms in a leisurely manner. "Arthvader here seems to have his moves in order; seems to me like he knows which moves to make before he even ensues them. But he didn't have enough down time."
Eldon stopped to push a few strands of hair out of his face, and rubbed the back of his head in the meantime. "You can plan your moves ahead of time, but you have to give yourself time to breathe. Taking a hit from an enemy isn't a bad thing; it gives you an opportunity to observe their methods of approach and tactical style. Next time, try letting your opponent attack you; then guard, and watch...You can learn a lot just from observing."

(OOC: Arthvader has solid posts...just like his character is quick to attack and formulates his moves ahead of time...Arthvader seems to know exactly what it is that he wants to describe...Try writing in paragraph form though, and refrain from using colons ":" to introduce speech.)

Eldon stopped in the middle of his speech, and made a slight turn so that he faced Aristus. "Aristus seems to have spent the majority of the match using the observatory technique. You took more hits from your opponent, but you never failed to keep up your guard. While you would have lost this match by standing around and guarding the whole time, you may have studied your opponent enough to understand his techniques. Arthvader is fast paced, and he plans his moves ahead of time, but he's using all of his stamina at once...eventually, he would have grown weary, and you would have had an opportunity to take him down."

(OOC: ZodiacPotato's character fought fair. You took a decent share of hits, which is actually a big bonus in RPBs. It takes guts to take a hit from an oppopent, especially when you have to give your own character that dissadvantage. Arthvader may or may not have given his character a fair disadvantage by allowing him to run out of stamina.
If Arthvader had eventually been plagued by down time, as I said, then you would have had an opportunity to take him out. If Arthvader chose not to give his character a fair disadvantage in the long run...he would have lost points for fighting unfairly, and you would have been likely to win anyway.

Julius Argexis, recently promoted to instructor of the Knights of the Round, arrived shortly after Eldon's speach about battles. He walked slowly towards the battlefield, his iron boots crushing small stones and grass as he stared at the warriors that were previously fighting. He suddenly noticed that Shenorai was also here, so he took of his helm and placed it besides the left side of his torso, holding it with his left arm. After that he bowed respectfully to both Shenorai and Eldon.

He grinned, his expression and his toughts were clear enough. Sure they were prominent fighters with quite some potential, but their moves were rather reckless, risking themselves amd becoming more and more vulnerable to receive a fatal blow with each move.

He turned to face FFGuy to give him some advice, since he noticed that this warrior was the most reckless of the three.

"FFGuy, you may have swift moves and plenty of skills with the swords. However your desperation to finish an opponent quickly make your moves predictable and less accurate."

((FFGuy in other words be more descriptive and please, use punctuation))

Julius then turned arround to speak directly with Arthvader, his cold stare was much of an answer to Arthvader though Julius decided to fully express himself freely.

He lowered his face while closing his eyes, his hair soon fell over his forehead covering his eyes. He sighed while openning his eyes and quickly turning his sight again to Arthvader.

"Arthvader, I don't have to remind you what happened the last time you used all your stamina against Gilgamesh without allowing yourself to rest. Sure dodging attacks is important, but remember that with each dodge you must spend some energy. Sometimes deciding which hit is better to be taken instead of quickly avoiding it is better. Is far worse to run out of stamina during a battle and fainting due to exhaustion."

shrugging off julius's advice FFGuy walked around questioning everyone on the appearance of the phoenix, when he had pumped all the possible information dry he walked over to a corner and started absorbing his aura of darkness.

Shenorai gave a scowl towards the inquisitive fellow, deciding not to reply to questions that she had no answers to. As he walked off to collect energy, the bounty hunter sighed and shook her head. She turned to the first fighters and gave a nod to both of them.

"I hope you two have taken the advice from Julius and Eldon to mind as well as to heart. Here, we need to keep open minds and open ears as we are given our critiques. To be ignorant of such advice could very well be your downfall."

As she said this, she cast a sidelong glance at the one in the corner, as though pointing him out as a prime example of such ignorance.

((FFGuy, you're failing to read the first post yet again. I know you're probably here for the battles, but if you are not going to take advice, then what the hell are you doing here? This thread is meant for practice and using the advice given to you.))

Leaning against the chair she was sitting in, Shen looked at everyone else and asked, "Well, anyone else care to spar? It's probably still muddy out there, but a little mud never hurt anyone. Remember, there's a barrel out there with wooden weapons so we don't kill our opponents."

Arthvader "I'll take up another battle. Phoenix, let's go."

Arthvader had his phoenix remove the barrier and followed him as He picks up two wooden swords from the barrel. He waits for his opponent at the muddy field.

Arthvader "Now, who's next?"

Julius smiled as he leaned his back, his eyes were closed as he heard the open challenge that Arthvader has made. Julius fought Arthvader once, or at least his dark side, so Julius wasn't sure if it would be best to allow Arthvader to go all out near the others. Julius knew that he would have to use most of his skills to battle against both Arthvader and his summon, but it should be a nice way to tests Arthvader's skills.

Julius then pushed himself slightly towards the battlefield and walked slowly into the center, feeling how his footwear crushed tiny rocks and small branches underneath. Julius then stopped suddenly and sighed turning his sight to the ground staring to a small puddle of clear water.

"FFGuy, your desperation will become your downfall someday...sometimes it's best to have some patience and await for the right moment to strike."
(use periods please....)

Julius change his sight to the opponent he had in front, staring at both Arthvader and his summon. Julius kept staring to both Arthvader and his Phoenix until suddenly the silence was broken by the sound of his own voice.

"Arthvader, I would gladly accept your challenge, though it's up to you if you wish to fight me or not."

Julius snaps his fingers and one of the guards grabbed a wooden sword and threw it to Julius. Without removing his sight from both Arthvader and Phoenix, Julius caught the wooden sword in mid air and quickly aimed it to Arthvader.

"Very well, what say you?"

Arthvader " I accept Julius. May the best warrior win. Phoenix, let's show him what we got."

As the battle started, Arthvader decided to charge his energy. knowing what Julius is capable of, he quickly went towards Julius, bringing his hands back.

Arthvader "Here we go, Julius. AURABOLT"

Arthvader thrust his hands in front of Julius's chest area, sending an energy shot that knocked Julius several feet. He then drew out the wooden sword and his shield, preparing for a counter attack.

Julius quickly bent his arms using them to push himself several feet above the air and landing safely away from Arthvader's attacks. Though the severity of the attack seemed to have landed successfully, Julius was not affected by it and ended up with a few scratches on his armor.

Julius then grabbed tightly the handle of his wooden sword, which was 4 feet long from handle to the tip of the wooden blade, and aimed it to Arthvader. His confident smile that nearly reached his ears showed how much he enjoyed battles. The irises of Julius' eyes turned fierce orange, like a mixture of orange and red as if they were flames consuming everything on its path.

"Not bad at all, though with this I discovered a fatal flaw in your technique. Your hesitation to attack without waiting for the right moment will be your downfall. Let's see if you can deal with this!! Frigidus!!! (Cold)

Julius raised his left hand with his palm wide open aiming at both Arthvader and the Phoenix. Suddenly, a cold air surrounded Julius' left hand and out of nowhere, the humidity around his hand froze, forming six different , six feet long one foot wide, ice spears that kept spinning around Julius. Then with a snap of his fingers, Julius sent the barrage of spears towards Arthvader and Phoenix.

Julius then bent his knees and jumped slightly on the air spinning quickly in 360 degrees and swinging his sword ferociously sending a powerful wave of energy towards Arthvader and landing safely facing his opponent from afar.

Arthvader " Phoenix, quickly, FIRA!!"

The phoenix casted it's fire spell to counteract the Frigidus spell that Julius has sent at them. As for the energy wave, Arthvader quickly drew out his shield to guard against it. The slash Went through the shield, hurting Arthvader at the arms, causing pain. As he his dealing with the pain, Arthvader prepared a spell.

Arthvader "Darn, that hurt. You're good Julius, but can you handle this? Here it goes. Earthquake!!!"

As he raised his hands, the mana sword started glowing. He then thrusted his arms towards the ground, causing the very earth to split apart. he then charged more magical energy in his right hand.

Arthvader "I'm not done yet. GIBARTA!!"

As Arthvader brings his hands towards Julius, Three Ice pillars charged towards Julius, one of them going through the path created by the earthquake, to the left, and to the right.

(((I sure enjoy our RP Battles Arthvader  How about becoming a team in the Dungeon Crawlers Organization? We could be like Sephiroth and Cloud (an example) and fight for glory, money and of course, battles! What say you?

You are doing quite well, you even took a hit and that proves that you'll become a great fighter in no time. Keep it up!!

And ouch, your attack will hurt XD)))

Julius' fighting stance was slightly affected by the earthquake and affected his balance. he saw how the three long pillars were sent towards him and also noticed how Arthvader put aside his wooden sword to use real equipment. Julius grinned, knowing that this would be another great battle. Quickly before the attacks could land, Julius performed a somersault, spinning backwards dodging the attacks and landing safely away from the affected area. Even though he avoided the direct hit, Julius was damaged by the fragments of the pillars that were scattered away after the collision.

Julius smiled, not minding his light wounds, and stared to Arthvader. He quickly reached the handle of his sword with his right hand and aimed it to Arthvader.

((New Sword description))

His sword, a 4 feet long sword from handle to the tip of the blade was Julius' favorite weapon. The handle was 1 foot long, the blade was 3 feet long made of a strong metal alloy and both parts were attached to each other by a strong nearly indestructible metal alloy. The center piece was shaped like two angel wings, 3 inches long 2 inches wide each that were set at opposite sites of a red ruby stone. The sword had a hand guard shaped like a third angel wing. It began from the center piece and reached the last end of the handle, protecting Julius' hands. There was a chain with the letters "J & D" in the form of an emblem attached to the end of the handle. The letters (the "J" was golden and the "D" was made of sterling silver) stand for the names of Julius and his long lost love, "Dareysha".

Julius held his sword above his own shoulder, looking over it quite calmed, not minding how strong Arthvader was, for Julius this was just an exhibition match, a sparring session.

"Weren't we supposed to use wooden swords instead of real ones? Never mind, since you took this to the next level I am glad to use my own sword as well."

Then he said referring to his newly obtained sword: "Quite a masterpiece this sword, don't you agree? Not even Gilgamesh's blades could compare to our weapons Arthvader. Now let us continue. Just remember, this is only a training session, and we shouldn't let things get off hand. Very well, are you ready?"

Julius smiled confidently, his eyes were fixed on his opponent without losing Phoenix's position. Julius soon brought his sword down behind his right leg and quickly swung it upwardly and diagonally, sending a powerful wave towards Arthvader once again. The surface of ground was slightly lifted and sliced in two halves by the pass of the wave of energy, quickly heading towards Arthvader to push him back.

Seeing the wave heading toward him, Arthvader prepared to defend himself, taking the damage while holding his shield. the wave sent him several feet back. seeing the power Julius has delivered, Arthvader sheathed his sword and shield. He then Charged up energy.

Arthvader "Your attacks are good, Julius, but It's not over yet."

Arthvader then charged right at Julius. When he got close to him, He grabbed Julius. he then jumped high up, Holding Julius in the process.

Arthvader "You won't escape this. SUPLEX BLITZ"

as they begin the decend, Arthvader started to bend back towards the ground. By the time they hit the ground, Arthvader released Julius from his grip to avoid taking any damage that Julius was going to take.

(Spell Effect: Turn 1)
Julius endured the damage after he crashing against the ground. The impact created a small crater which was enveloped by a thick curtain of dust. After the dust faded away, Julius could be seen on his knees, starting at the ground. He then raised and stood firmly, fixing his sight on Arthvader. Julius was smiling, a smile that nearly reached his ears, his eyes were slightly opened and soon he started to laugh.

"After all I told you about reckless attacks you still insist on taking that behavior? Now let me show you..."

Julius then turned his face to the ground while tightly closing his fists, one of his hands was still holding the hilt of his sword. Suddenly a powerful yellowish-brown aura began to emanate from Julius, and a strong wind blew lifting Julius cape and hair, moving it fiercely.

"Here's one of my many abilities...IRON WILL!!"

After enduring much damage, Julius was capable of summoning forth his inner strength, increasing his own power beyond his own limits. Even though he used this technique, Julius was not going to use its full potential. Due to the power of this transformation, the irises of Julius' eyes changed to red with a thin dark line around the irises.

"This will serve you as an example. By attacking me with that technique you allowed me to use one of my own special abilities giving to me as one of the candidates of the dark lord. Though another person took the role of the dark master of Castle Destruction, I inherited much of the abilities. Now let me show you a fraction of what it means to be one of the masters of the Twin Castles!! Behold the power of the
"Sanctuarium de Illas Sphatas"!!!

The Sanctuary of the Swords, a spell that Julius doesn't use quite often whose effect might last for a long time (approximately 10 of my posts). The spell summoned multiple swords each similar to the one Julius was wielding and aligned to a different elemental attribute. The summoned swords began to spin fiercely around Julius, like a ferocious tornado of elemental energies and emanating a powerful aura according to their elemental attributes. The swords then began to hover all around Julius, waiting for his command. Julius could send one of the swords towards his opponent while the other swords would follow the first one spinning all around it, though he remained waiting patiently for Arthvader's reaction.

"Are you ready? I am not an Instructor pf the "Knights of the Round" for nothing...and you'll see now..."

hmph....there is a battle going on.....maybe i should battle one myself, this may get me closer to phoenix

alright! this is an announcement! i challenge anyone here to a duel! step forward if you are brave enough.

As he sees the formation of the swords circling Julius, Arthvader and his phoenix started charging their magical power. they were charging so much, that their auras physically appeared around them. The phoenix was glowing with a dark blue aura, while Arthvader was glowing with an aura of pure light. Arthvader then noticed the formation of the sword pattern, and then starting chanting his spell.

Arthvader "Phoenix, let's go. use your ultimate technique. ULTIMA!!"

The phoenix then started to bring about a blast from underneath Julius, creating a dome of unimaginable power. Arthvader then casting his spell.

Arthvader "Just in case you survive that, Here comes one my most powerful spell, the very spell I learned from the village of mages. GRANTS!!!!!!!!!"

Arthvader then sent a powerful beam of light from the sky, crashing right on through the spell the phoenix casted. with the spells Arthvader and his phoenix casted, the damage would have cracked some of the swords Julius has summoned, as well as burning Julius as well. Arthvader then noticed FFGuy issuing a challenge. He then turned his attention to the challenger for a moment.

Arthvader "Just to let you know, FFGuy, If you want to get rid of my phoenix, you have to go through me. When we battle, you will see what I'm capable of. Phoenix, you must be tired, go on and rest."

the phoenix then headed back to its resting place to recharge it energy. Arthvader turned his attention back to Julius to continue the battle.

Julius quickly snapped his fingers and the swords around him formed a giant shield that blocked Phoenix's Ultima. The wave of energy sent to him was great enough to shatter some of the swords leaving only three hovering around Julius. Suddenly he noticed that Arthvader performed yet another powerful technique, but it was too late for him to avoid it, instead he countered it with one of his own.

Julius quickly summoned his "Scutum de Energia" (Shield of Energy) to attempt to block this powerful blow, but unfortunately it wasn't enough and Julius was forced to use one of his most powerful abilities, his "Morph-Changing Spells" which allowed him to summon a powerful creature and merge with it.

While he won some time with the magical barrier, Julius quickly dispelled the shield and attempted to summon "Angelus Mortis" (Angel of Death) in the little time he had left, a mere fraction of seconds.

Soon a huge explosion was created, and a fearsome dome of fire was swallowing the area in which Julius was standing. Strange though, a few moments later the flames turned black and shadows began to emerge from within the flames.

As soon as the last remnants of the explosion vanished away,a cloaked creature wielding a strange weapon emerged, his face was half Julius and half skull, similar to "Death". The weapon was a "scythe", Death's favorite weapon, a five feet staff with a 4 feet curved blade attached to the upper end of the staff. The scythe, as a monstrous weapon, has the ability to drain its opponents energy and weaken their magical powers.

The dark angel hovered before Arthvader holding his scythe next to the left side of his face, and his human-face right side grinned. Julius was now a combination of the summon "Death" and himself, his left eye was deep red and the iris of his right eye was sapphire blue.

Julius moved his scythe to the right holding it tightly but soon he aimed the blade of his scythe to Arthvader. He grinned once again and landed on the ground, the parts of his ripped black cloak moved slowly as they finally rested on the ground. Julius began to move towards Arthvader, and the sound of his voice drastically changed, now it sounded grave, like chains being swung fiercely.

"I am surprised that you forced me to take this form, since I rarely use it in battles. I was getting tired of this whole "two against one" and thought it would be fair to call a summon of my own."

With each step that Julius-Angelus took, the grass and life being crushed under his feet would be drained of their life, eventually dying. He stopped while leaving a short trail of death being spread behind him. The sound of his breath could be heard echoing through the vast emptiness this monstrous apparition has brought, and Julius was starting to wonder if it was the right thing to do to call "Death" by his side.

"Let this be quick..."

Julius grabbed the scythe with both hands, swung it from left to right bringing it behind his back and then, swung it from right to left releasing the handle and hurling the scythe fiercely towards his opponent. If the scythe were to miss, it would disappear in a few seconds and reappear in Julius' right hand.

Realizing the magical powe of Julius's summon, and the fact that he sent his phoenix back to recharge, and the fact that he's about completly out energy, Arthvader finds himself at a major disadvantage. He is barely able to dodge the attack that Julius has sent at him. thinking there's no other alternatives, he decided to use the rest of his energy in one, final, destructive attack.

Arthvader "(Gasping for air) Is that all you got. It's about time I finish this. Here I come, BUMRUSH BLITZ!!!"

Arthvader then released his true power and charges right at Julius, disregarding the damage his is taking from Julius's scythe. By the time he was up close, he started beating up on Julius with destructive punches and kicks, breaking bones in the process. after the attack was done, Arthvader returned to normal, Out of energy, and standing unconscious. Has the damage been delivered enough to take out Julius?

The attack was not strong to kill Julius, but was fierce enough to separate Julius from his alter ego, Death. Though he endured the attack, most of the damage was absorbed by Death and thus he was forced to disappear. Julius, on the other hand, fell on his knees breathing heavily. He knew that the death-summon would eventually drain his sanity making him as ruthless as his brother, Lucius, a cold blooded monster longing to kill everything on his path.

"I...thank you...I didn't knew that the summoning "Death" would be so dangerous...forgive me...I just couldn't control it...it was as if Death were the one in control and not me..."

As the last remains of the death-summoning faded like ashes being scattered through the wind, Julius was left on his knees trying to recover from the recent battle. If it weren't for Arthvader, Julius would have ended up killing everything on sight, foes and allies alike.
