Twilight Saga Discussion

The only part of the movie that I hate is that they skipped the blood typing scene -__- It was so needed in the movie!
The part that I couldn't have liked any more is the baseball bit. Everything about it was perfect in my opinion. I really like the sountrack (and I have it in my ipod :gasp:)

When Edward
finally confessed that he was a vampire
the scene was in the car in the book. I liked the fact they made it happen in a forest in the movie. It was more effective.

O.k I don't know if I am going to get bashed for this but I think the movie was kind of awful.

I give it a 4.5 (for me average is 5)

I haven't read the books so I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had heard the hype that it was a great movie, so I thought I would check it out. Unfortunately for the majority of the movie I found myself looking away out of sheer embarrasment for the actors. The script for this movie was terrible, I don't know if they used lines straight out of the book. But the lines were, rolled, dipped and baked in cheese. Usually I find cheesy movies work when they know they are being made as cheesy films, this one just didn't. The script writer sounded like a 12 year old with hormonal issues. Don't get me started on the director, 1/4 way through I was wondering if she was drunk.

The acting was actually o.k, not sure about Stewart's constant mouth diarrohea. But the rest was good, I really loved her father's character. I also didn't mind the Blacks, unfortunately all three were under used and it focused more on an angsty/stalkerish/ obsessive love story. Most of the time I was thinking that these people needed serious therapy.

Edward: 'Bella I've killed people, I wanted to kill you',
Bella: 'I don't care'

Well guess what Bella, you're a moron. 'I don't care that you have killed people Edward as long as you're hot and sparkly', she sounded exceptionally stupid through most of the movie.

I think the whole vampire plot is actually only a subplot, the real story is the teenage love angle I think. Because I don't think that Meyer's vampire ideas held much water. They were very one-dimensional. Saying that, I'm not surprised that I wasn't a fan of the movies because despite the fact I usually like vampire stuff, this was most definetly a love story. Unfortunately, I am not a romance fan and I think that is why I was left sorely disappointed with this film.

Worst Scene: Hmmm, which one? There were alot. I would say the baseball scene was pretty bad. It was an entire 5 mintues of the producers trying to portray how cool the Cullens were, unfortunately it fell short. It was a load of poorly produced special effects. I especially hated the next scene where that other lot of vamps turned up and they started snarling at each other, it was absolutely stupid. Oh and everything about the forest scene I hated, again poor special effects and the entire roll of dialogue was laughable.

Best Scene: I loved any scene where it was just Bella and her dad. It felt like it should be awkward. The fact that they hardly speak or show emotion towards each other. But I found that they worked extremely well, they weren't awkward in the least, in fact they looked comfortable and at ease without saying anything. I thought the relationship between Bella and her dad was far more entertaining than her relationship with Edward.

I also really liked the setting of the film, I thought it produced a great atmosphere for the entire story. If they actually had employed a writer who had hit maturity and an actual director then I think this could have been better.

I think I found myself laughing the most with the peppermint spray with Charlie. :wacky:

I saw this movie the other night and I thought it was alright. I think the ideas behind the film such as the different vampire clans, the wolves, the way they explained the vegetarian vampires and everything else was good but it was executed very poorly.

The film was almost entirely devoted to the relationship between Bella and Edward, which is fair enough because the film IS more of a love story than a vampire one, but the rest of the film felt very rushed. The bad vampires only confront the Cullens like half an hour before the end of the film and the conflict between them and the Cullens is resolved too quickly.

The script was pretty stupid as well

awwwhhhh how..........romantic?

One positive thing about the movie was the way it was shot. The dark, grey, miserable setting really helped set the 'gloomy vampire' mood. So it definitely deserves some praise in that aspect.

Despite all the negatives though, I did enjoy it for some reason and I am looking forward to the next one.

I haven't read the book, but I saw the movie the other day. It was ok, but I can't really criticise the plot as I've never read the book. However, I was disappointed at the baseball scene because the Cullens and the Nomadic Vampires didn't have a gang war. It was so coming.. then bang, the father calls it off.

I don't know whether this deserves a thread of it's own or not but anyway.

I just saw one of the trailers for New Moon.

My gosh Jacob gets hot! :gasp:

I so can't wait for this one! It looks better then the original already
with Jacob turning into a wolf and what not.

But then they could just be showing the only good parts in the trailer. <_<

Alright, I'll say this. New Moon looks far better than Twilight. Not by a whole lot, but then again, Twilight's script and acting...*shakes head* I could barely watch the movie.

Hmmm, well the trailer for New Moon looks interesting. But I have to say, I'm not all that tempted to watch it after seeing the first movie. Way too much romance in my opinion. I shouldn't judge the movies, though. I haven't read the books yet, but from what I've heard about it, it's better than the movie.

Whilst I loved Twilight anyway, I think New Moon's got the strength to knock it out. The trailer looks good, just gotta wait to see how the rest of the film turns out.

I pray that the guy playing Jacob is a much actor than the one playing Edward; he looks it, at the very least. Wasn't he the same one who played Warren Peace in Sky High, that Disney film?

Taylor Lautner plays Sharkboy in "Sharkboy and Lavagirl", of course he was only a young teenager back then. That tells us that Taylor acted since childhood which would automatically make him great.
Can't wait for New Moon, Dakota Fanning is one of the new characters ^_^

i went to watch it,and i could think was,"are you f***ing serious",i hated this,so i walked out, demanded my money back, and got kicked out,i cant stand it,but,i figure going to the movies is a good way to meet people who will soon realize it sucks

I got the movie over netflix some time ago. I had no idea this was some tween bullshit movie where the vampires shi out sparkles.
The video discription was very misleading

My wife recently became obsessed with the books, then co-opted me into buying the movie for her. While it was interesting enough to keep me watching it for two hours, thereafter I immediately ordered a copy of the Rifftrax commentary so I could vent my frustration over Bella's geeky high school peers, the absolute dearth of plot, Jamaican vampires, the way Bella blinks and puffs a little bit of air out of her mouth before everything she says, the way Bella's dad goes on and on about how he suspects the blood-drained corpses the police found on a warehouse roof were victims of animal attacks, James cocking his head from side to side in every single closeup shot, and of course how the whole film was just Stephanie Meyer's dream date with a few fantasy elements thrown in.

Here's the latest trailer, which is meant to be screening at the MTV Music Video Awards. If you can't wait til then, here it is!

Might as well post in here for New Moon instead of creating a new thread.....

Anyway, seen the trailers all over tv, and I have to admit, Im excited about going to see it, me and Clare are gunna go watch it together, i got her into it hahaha, Im a bad bad person, but alas, it's a guilty pleasure and I actually liked the first movie, so Im hoping New Moon will be awesome too

Also, Jacob looks hot 8F

Not as hot as Edward though, he's like, really hot

I'm just a massive pervert, I only wanna go to ogle the men

"I only wanna go to ogle the men"

Reason number 2 on my list there, Kel. XD

But mainly, I tried reading the book New Moon, and I didn't like it at first. Mainly because I didn't understand the purpose of introducing a 2-demensional character from the first and making him more 3-demensional. o_O But I gave it another read, and I was quite impressed with it. I'm pretty psyched to see it.

I saw some new content on IMDB today, so I'm very excited again for the saga to be continuing and it's only two more weeks until it comes out in cimemas! Definitely going to be watching it on 20th November when all the kids are in school. Me and two of my friends are going for about 11 in town, so one of them can back to college in time.

I'm hoping it doesn't drag as much as the book did, it took AGES for Edward to be reintroduced into the book, so hopefully it won't end up all long winded and me just waiting for him to come back on the scene, it just started to get boring waiting for him to reappear
