URPG Ideas

I don't mean to interrupt the X-Men idea, but I have one of my own, and I'm a little surprised to see that no one has suggested it yet.

I think that something based off of Full-Metal Alchemist would be quite interesting. Especially given Kendra's idea of people playing the canon roles, since the show offers a lot of possibilities. I just love the idea of a universe that revolves around the creative use of alchemy.

Would anyone be interested in this?
 
I'd love a Full Metal Alchemist RP :O

I was considering doing a Full Metal Alchemist RP at one point, but I wasn't sure if there was enough fans of it on here that also RP >_<

But if you'd do it, I'd definetely join :D

Also, sorry, I couldn't start the X-Men RP yesterday, I was out all day and didn't get back in till 23:00. Sorry. >_<
 
ok this threads been dead a while so lets see if i can manage to breathe new life into it... has anyone thought of a dragon ball type rp, i would try starting one myself but im still reletivly new to posting and dont think id be able to handle the whole storyline, rules for it and aproval of chars so, just a sugestion.
 
A Dragon ball RP would be extremely difficult to do, due to the immense powers of each character and the ability to destroy a planet in a single attack could cause problems for the RP.
 
They would... but if we would do a invite only one it could be a lot of fun and we would avoid powerplaying :) And if it is well controlled and has certain limits at beginning that would avoid the world destroying I think it would be fine.
For example, Goku wasn't able to even blow a house up for whole traditional Dragonball... So could we start from beginning, like Goku was when he was still young ;) So, what you think?
 
Just to spark interest out there, but out the following, what would you, the Rp'ers, like to see?
  • pre-BBS KH RP
  • Bleach RP telling the times about the Shinigami/Quincy War
  • FFXII AU RP

Note, I am just trying to get some activity into this section.
 
Well personally, I think it's just a bit slow due to real life running things.

Nonetheless, I already have ideas floating in my head for a pre-BBS KH RP which ties in to the KH RP curently ongoing.
 
well how about one based on gunslinger girls... or maybe almost any vampire based manga? sorry thats kind of my area of manga lol... fate stay night would be interesting to do but due to the character limit it would be hard...
 
Not sure if this one'll even be recognized, but what the hell. I used to do a TON of RPing based around the Magic: The Gathering universe back between 2004 and 2006 (and only sporadically since then). I've been mulling over my own ideas for a Dominaria-based RP for some time now and figured I'd drop the idea here to see how many people express interest before I go and make a thread.
 
How about setting up an RP thread based around a certain place like the calm lands in FFX or Dali in FFIX or similar for our original characters to wander in and out of at thier own leisure. Wander in, chat to some other characters, maybe fight an NPC fiend or two and wander out or stay for a while to interact with other characters and develope/evolve the original characters. No story, just the setting then people could create spin-off stories, spin off RPB's if two characters clash within the thread?

Would that be possible?
 
I must say, I rather like this idea. Having an established setting with established NPCs that characters could interact with of their own accord (meaning people could post actions for NPCs as well as the "host," so that the action would never stop as long as a couple people drifted in and out) would be nice. You wouldn't have to wait on others so much to keep things going, and since there's no story (though hopefully some would branch off from it in time) there's no rush to advance things.

Could be a lot of fun.
 
The idea sounds absolutely awesome :D I would love if it would be based on FF IX Dali which is one of my favorite places in FF IX. Although, I do admit that Dali might be too small ... maybe Treno would be better?
At the same time, having a small location like Dali would make things really interesting. You know how everyone knows everyone and everything in small places. And add the probably corrupted mayor of the town, the farmlands around Dali and the black mage factory and you get an absolutely fabulous theme to the RP in and out thingy.

So yeah, Filendie, you still keen on creating the RP? If you are, I would love to help to create the setting, the NPC's etc. And if you can't be bothered with the creation side, I can take it over and get everything ready for us to start enjoying.

Anyone else interested in the RP?
 
Very interested. I'd love to help set it up as well. I often wind up STing/DMing/GMing tabletop groups with friends, so I have more experience setting up worlds and NPCs than making/playing characters anyways. I'll start a discussion thread so that we can get the ideas rolling and get it up soon.

TTT, I really like the idea of the Retreat, but if players stop posting/interacting, it stops moving. With having a full town/area set up, things would keep rolling even if things slowed down significantly (all it would really need is one person manning the area/NPCs and one person still wanting to play). That being said, I really ought to type up a couple characters for approval and throw them into the Retreat to see if it could be gotten rolling again. Idle chit chat is one of the best ways to flesh out characters...
 
Glad you guys like the idea. I'm still kinda new to this place but thought I'd band around some ideas. If you guys want to take the lead then go ahead. Think up an interesting place with a number of things to do and go for it. Can we play the NPC's within our posts as long as we are fare? like random people walking around and idle banter to drum up depth or maybe fiends, so that way people aren't waiting for others to reply as them? Could be a good place to play in if your waiting for others to post in other threads.
 
Oh yeah, that sounds good. Since the character doesn't need to have been approved I'll have a go in there. Would be nice to have a few settings aswell, relaxing and chatting in a travern type place is good, but so is a bit of action and drama out on the battle field along with other original characters. So do you think this would be something for the ORP even if we use settings already made?
