[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

Chicken Run.

Seen this film soooooooooooooooo many times, but my baby sister wanted to watch it, so whats one more time XD The casting and animation has always drawn me to this movie. I love Wallace and Gromit films, so Chicken Run is one of those I dont tire of.

Movie: Sabrina The Teenage Witch (movie)

Rating: PG

Comments: I wasn't too fond of this movie. The Aunts aren't the ones that are in the television series and they aren't as funny. Bit too serious.

Salem had a really terrible voice actor. Not humourous like the one in the T.V series at all. =( Sabrina was Melissa Joan Heart and her best friend is from the first Sabrina season, so there was some familiar faces.

Decent movie, just not as good as the series.

Score: 7/10

A Time To Kill. This movie was so good except for the really violent rape in the beggining. It is a really interesting movie. ItS An old one actully but I saw it in class today and I really liked it till the end. Awesome criminal law movie. Its sad though. 8 out of 10

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Hadn't watched this in a while, but glad I got the chance to do so again. It's better than the first film, seeing as how there's more funny one liners and scenes in it, especially betwee Johnny and Ben. It still remains one of those films right up there and one I'd definitely watch again.

Movie: Mr and Mrs Smith

Rating: M

Comments: Good movie.

I enjoyed it alot. Loved the action in it and the way Mr and Mrs Smith went about trying to hurt one another. >.<

Funny for a movie, but not if it was real of course.

Adam Brody from The O.C. was in it too! I wished they had of shown more of him. He cracks me up. ^_^

Score: 10/10

Avatar! :D

The best movie I watched in 2009. I never expected it to be so good but it turned out to be brilliant. :)

10/10.

[Mod Edit: Could you elaborate a bit more when you post in these sort of threads. Tell us a bit more about the movie and why you liked it etc. Thanks. =)]

The Godfather

I though I had never seen this movie, so I watched, only to discover that most of the scenes where quite familiar...turns out I had seen it before -_-
Anyways, the Godfather is highly ranked in the IMDB charts, and it actually deserves it's place. Good acting, memorable scenes, nice use of music (unlike Scarface!). Good.

The Wolf Man

Just been to see it and OMFG!!! I love it soooooooooooooooooooooo much. Benicio Del Toro is amazing as the Wolf Man, plus Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving arejust as great. Jumpy. gpry, scary and Del Toro is a hottie, still love em :-) One Im going to see again and grab the DVD!!

Movie: She's The Man

Rating: PG

Comments: Haha I love this movie. Amanda Bynes is hilarious as usual.

It's pretty much about a girl who loves Soccer and then finds out that her school has cut the girls Soccer team.

She ends up sneaking into her twin brothers boarding school as he sneaks out to leave the country and there she pretends to be a boy and to make the soccer team.

Then she intends to kick her old schools boy soccer teams ass. >.<

My Super Ex-Girlfriend

I'd wanted to see this for ages, so when I saw it on Channel 4, I had to record it on HD while everyone was else was watching something else. Got the chance to watch it later and I was really pleasantly surprised by it. It was interesting to have a woman as the superhero instead of a man to say the least. There were a lot of funny one-liners, the scene involving the bed was hilarious and everything was just brilliant, really! This is one I'd definitely have to see again.

Paranormal Activity [R]

I absolutely loved the Blair Witch Project, so I knew that I needed to check this out. It took me a long time to finally get ahold of it, but I did yesterday and just watched it today.

I mean, this stuff is pretty scary, even if I'm a total skeptic. The part that left me with my mouth wide open was when
Katie got dragged down the hallway
. I do wish that the ending wasn't so cut off, because I would have loved if they had shown what she did after. I mean, that probably sounds really creepy but I'm curious. :wacky:

Movie: White Noise: The Light

Rating: M

Comments: It was a decent movie with a nice twist at the end.

I found myself hiding behind my hands, pillows, anything I could find sometimes. I hated seeing the scary faces. >.<

It's basically about a man who witnesses his wife and sons death and then three months later he tries to commit suicide. For a brief moment he was announced dead at the hospital and then brought back to life.

From then on he sees a bright light around people who are going to die very soon. It takes only a little while for him to realise this and then he tries to save people.

It has a cruel twist at the end though.

Movie: The Emperors New Groove

Rating: G

Comments: Haha love this movie.

The emperor is so funny and Krunk is just hilarious. XD His voice is the guy from Joe off Family Guy. Love it. >.<

Basically about an emperor who gets turned into a Llama by his enemy and his quest to change back to a man with help from a villager whom the emperor wishes to kick out of his home in order to build his summer resort.

Score: 10/10

Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

It ranks very high on several IMDb lists (even #1 in Comedy), so I decided to check it out, but I was quite dissappointed. I didn't suspect to be laughing all the time, but only grinning three times makes the # 1 Comedy spot really undeserved in my opinion. Maybe it's not my kind of humor or something, but the rest of the story and action couldn't save the movie.

I couldn't disagree more. Del Toro was poor, as was Hopkins. Hugo Weaving wasn't too bad - I thought he was quite well cast but the rest were terrible. It seemed like everyone from the writers to the editors were only half arsed about the entire thing. The script needed far more development, good actors were bad, the direction was poor, and the edit was massively flawed (there was a beep about half way through the film that was not to do with the projector, and the changes between reels were very shaky). The only thing I really liked was how well the CGI was masked, and the fact that they used prosthetics on the werewolves rather than CGI.

Bangkok Dangerous

I remember seeing the previews for this movie and not being impressed by it. Well, the other night it comes on TV so I decide to watch it. I got to say, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've always enjoyed movies that end the way this one does, despite the fact that just about everyone I know hates them. Good movie, check it out.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

PG

I saw this movie yesterday and found it quite entertaining. The movie is loosely based on the novel by Rick Riordan, which I haven't read. Overall it's a pretty fun flick, it's got a lot of action. The effects were cool, it wasn't in 3D, which was fine because I needed a break from all the 3D movies. The plot moves a bit fast which makes it kinda tricky to follow although I didn't have much of a problem. If you've read the novel you might be disappointed, but you know hollywood when they try and make movie adaptations from novels, they're not perfect and usually make changes that weren't in the novel to appeal to different crowds, like the 1992 Bram Stoker's Dracula movie and The Running Man. Some movies improve the novel like what Blade Runner did for "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep" novel.

Score 8/10

I just want to say that I couldn't agree more. This is probably old news by now, but has anyone seen what they did with Dragon Ball? (I don't recall Goku being in a school in the original series). THAT is a good example of what Hollywood does to good titles. But enough of that, here's my next movie rating.

Movie: The Outsiders

Rating: I don't know, but I'm assuming it's PG-13.

Comments: It was a nice movie. I remember watching this in a 9th grade class, but I didn't know the name of it until my sister couldn't stop talking about it some time ago. Since nothing else was on, I decided to watch it last night, since it was on WGN America last night.

It was basically about the lives of two (later three) "greasers", about how greasers in general hated "socs" and initially someone wanting to be away from it all. To me, it was heart-warming how Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally save several kids from a burning church. However, it was really sad to see
Johnny dying later from his burns and later Dally getting shot to death after robbing a store.
It's a movie from '83, but I recommend watching it.

Score: 9.5/10

Movie: Crank: High Voltage

Rating: R

Comments: Not a fan of Jason Statham but I do love him in Crank.

The first one was awesome so I was happy when I found out there was a second one.

Pretty much in both movies something happens to him in which he has to keep his adrenaline pumping in order to stay alive long enough to find a cure.

Score: 10/10

Crank is great popcorn entertainment :D

Last movie I watched:

It's a beautiful life
A classic from 1946 about a man who sees how life would be if he hadn't been born. The shows his whole life story and then an angel is sent down from heaven to prevent him from jumping of a bridge. Despite having some scenes that are totally cliché nowadays, I found the movie to be quite moving, funny and entertaining. I also like James Stewart, the actor who plays the lead role.

Good movie.
