[V2] Last Movie You've Seen

Mostly I've been watching short films lately, which is kind of nice when posting on a forum because then I can show people as I "review" them. So this is the latest one I watched.

Movie: Outerspace

Rating: I'm not really sure.

Comments:
While the assault of images is a little overdone in the middle section, I still think it does a good job of showing torment, all those images flashing and making you feel disoriented. The beginning and end are just fantastic on all fronts. And it makes you feel as any good avant-garde film makes you feel... "wtf?"

Give it a chance if you want something weird. If you want something totally unlike anything else, something challenging.

Score: 98/100

Movie: The 5th Commandment

Rating: M

Comments: Meh.

Kind of a low budget sort of movie. Not really that great. It didn't really explain what was actually going on at times and it just got confusing.

The actors were shitty as well. They didn't convince me at all. =/

Score: 2/10

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Mark brought it along with him this weekend. It was good, especially with all the innuendos we spotted. What we did was spot them and down a shot each time. It was hilarious and made watching the film better. It's the best one out of the series so far and I can't wait to see the last remaining two films. Seeing Hermione go all hormonal was especially fun.

10/10

Movie: Romy and Michelle's Highshool reunion.

Rating: M

Comments: Love this movie.

It's a real classic. It's pretty much about two girls who get invited to their 10 year highschool reunion only to realise that they're lives aren't that great, and so in the two weeks leading up to the reunion they try to make their lives as impressive as possible. >.<

Score: 10/10

Movie: Ice Age (2002)

Rating: PG

Comments: It was great. I first watched it when it came out, and it had everything I like in a movie: comedy, drama....uh, I guess that's it.

Sid was hilarious, but to me Diego steals the spotlight many times. My favorite scene was the lava scene. Even when I know what will happen next, I still feel incredibly sad when
Manny was on a small ledge and falls into the lava but miraculously survives.
It's in the last half of the movie where it's hard to fight back the tears, even today.

10/10 is my rating. No less.

Last Film: Dodgeball

I'm not quite sure why I watched it, I'm not a fan of Ben Stiller. But, the film was okay. It was decent and well about dodgeball. I didn't really enjoy, the comedy was okay and the aspect was simple. I won't watch it again, but only if my life depends on it.

If you saw it and liked it, okay. But I didn't really like it.

I saw the remake of Dawn of the Dead the other day. Much better than the original, imo, and probably the best zombie film out there.
The only reason I'm taking this film down a point, is because the character didn't seem fleshed out enough...not that I cared, but some people might.

Dawn of the Dead, I give you: 9/10 :)

I watched Cool Runnings last night.

Great film that stars the late John Candy that was inspired by the Jamacan bobsled team. The film is very funny and light hearted but has it's serious moments.

The ending still makes me cry. Not because it's sad, but because of how emotional it was.
And although the Jamacans did not win, they were still winners because even though they crashed, they still finished the race and were finally accepted by everyone as Olympic competitors

It's a feel good movie that isn't too cheesy. One of my all time favorites.

10/10

Movie: Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

Rating: G

Comments: It was funny, though it wasn't as great as the first.

It's usually like that though.

Pretty much Cid finds a few eggs that happen to be dinosaur eggs and the group find themselves underneath the ice in a completely different world.

The new Weasel thing was pretty funny.

Scrat is better on his own as well. I didn't like the girl flying fox thing they brought into it.

Score: 8/10

I saw 2012 last night. I enjoyed the movie, but I don't think it was great by any means. The action and destruction was fun to watch, but it became a little too much and I wanted a break to catch a breather. Also, too many close calls that I started to groan when they would happen. And I also feel that they killed off all the interesting characters and left all the bland ones alive.

And if anyone actually reads this, I was totally on the guy who said not to let the people on to the arc because of lack of resources and time to load everyone on. The rest of that arc could have been killed because of the one guy's compassion. and I didn't find not letting those people on to be selfish, but realistic.

6/10

Movie: Sweeny Todd

Rating: M

Comments: A very great movie. It had the perfect mix of mentally, twisted acting, great story, and blood&gore. Although some parts weren't all that good lol, i still loved it. the Singing was the bestest imo :3.

Score: 9/10

Movie: Greta

Rating: M

Comments: It was a film with Hilary Duff and apparently she helped produce it.

I'll admit that it was funny in some parts. Her character was very witty, but also a bit sadistic.

It wasn't the best and I don't think I'd watch it again for a good while, but still okay for a first watch.

Score: 8/10

xD xD

I watched it against last night. Never lets me down. :D

The movies are great, and I absolutely love the characters. xD Scratte, she wasn't a fox though.

But I agree, Scrat's better of at his miserable lone lonesome cowboyishness. xD

Ah... Great movie though...

Movie: Suddenly 30

Rating: M

Comments: Pretty funny movie.

It's such a colourful and happy movie for the most part and I love how Jenna is so much like a child in her adult body. XD
Pretty much a 13 year old girl wishes to be 30 on her 13th birthday. The next day she wakes up and her wish has come true.

Matt really is the sweetest guy and she was an idiot to ditch him when she did at the start.

Nice movie.

Score: 10/10

Braveheart

OMG I love this film, never watched it all the way through, but I managed to last night. I was laughing and crying all the way through. Such great story telling and when Mel Gibson was once cool! Amazing film!

10/10

Movie: The Nightmare Before Christmas

Rating: PG

Comments: I love this movie and have loved it ever since I was a child.

The soundtrack is my favourite part and I love singing along with it!

The whole idea behind the movie is awesome! Jack Skellington stealing Christmas because he's bored with Halloween is just freakin' brilliant!

I loved every moment of it and would recommend it to everyone. <3

Off to watch Shark Tale now.

Score: 10/10

The White Girl

Watched this in my Critical Logbook lecture tonight and I was thoroughly impressed with it. Basically, a family escape the abusive head of the household into a new community. However, they don't fit in too well because it's overrun with Asian people. The young lead girl in this ends up interested in Muslim faith and starts doing to prayer, etc. Her family aren't too happy about this, the abusive head comes back, shit happens ... but I really did love this film. Now I have to write a 500-word review on it for two weeks' time.

10/10

The Hurt Locker
Definitely deserving of all the Oscars that it won. The cinematography was stunning, particularly the slow-motion close ups during explosions, which I felt were used far too often. I didn't think any of the actors really gave stellar performances, but at the same time didn't mind at all.
My only problem with it was the end. I thought it should have ended with either the scene in the supermarket, or with James talking to his son, rather than the Top Gun-esque ending.

Terminator 2 Judgment Day
best terminator movie ever, tons of action, and a great story
5/5

Movie: Hachiko: A Dog's Story
Rating: PG
Comments: Its a very cute movie, I enjoyed watching it. Definitely a family movie. I was amazed on how the dog in this movie kept coming back to the same spot every single day for years on end waiting for his deceased owner to come off the train.
Score: 10/10 (Because I am a sucker for movies like these :3)
