Matchbox Twenty- "Bent"

I've probably mentioned this one before, but it's one of the ones I always run to when something's bothering me, like now :hmmm: It's just a perfect, honest song that feels like it's coming straight from the heart, and when I sing it, I feel like I'm explaining everything that's going on within myself.

If I fall along the way
Pick me up and dust me off
And if I get too tired to make it
Be my breath, so I can walk
If I need some...other love then
Give me more than I can stand
When my smile gets old and faded
Wait around, I'll smile again

It shouldn't be so complicated
Just hold me and then
Just hold me again

Can you help me, I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never get put back together
Keep breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me...bent

If I couldn't sleep, could you sleep?
Could you paint me better off?
Could you sympathize with my needs?
I know you think I need a lot

I started out clean, but I'm jaded
Just phoning it in
Just breaking the skin

Can you help me, I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never get put back together
Keep breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me...bent
Yeah, you and me

Start bending me, it's never enough
Till I feel all your pieces
Start bending me, keep bending me until I'm completely broken in

It shouldn't be so complicated
Just touch me and then
Just touch me again

Can you help me, I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never get put back together
Keep breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me landing without understanding
Hell, I go there again
Can you help me, I'm bent
I'm so scared that I'll never get put back together
Yeah, you're breaking me in
And this is how we will end
With you and me...bent....

Tinie Tempah Feat. Eric Turner - Written In The Stars

For once, I'm not bothered by the rapping. This is a very personal song for me because it reminds me of the emotional journey I've made through life. The chorus is so touching and the lyrics couldn't have been written any better. Eric Turner's got a smashing voice and owns the song. Tinie's not bad himself since his lyrics work well with the chorus as well. I think I'm going to like this for quite a while yet.

Hey man, Nice Shot.... heheheheheh.

Excellent song by filter if I might add. Fits my mood currently in my life.

Do You Hear What I Hear? - Andy Williams

Y'know, something's always bugged me about this song.

"A child, a child; shivers in the cold
Let us bring him silver and gold
Let us bring him silver and gold"

I don't know about you, but if I'm a child shivering in the cold, screw the silver and gold. I want a fucking blanket or two.

Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control

This is a surprisingly good song. First heard it on an advert for Skins a few years ago and was so compelled to hear what the full version was like. This is my favourite song from the band. Beth Ditto has such a belting voice and I like the style that the band plays in. It's a nice simple song to relax to.

9/10

Armin Van Buuren-Not Giving up on Love

10/10. Armin is just amazing and I adore this song. For a dj, this is more of a love song than a song you can get crazy and dance with...but I love it. It really has meaning and emotion in it.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Black bird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
all your life
you were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird fly, Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise,
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

One of my favorites from them. I think it has a sad melody, but it's nice how the lyrics are about healing. I remember hearing this for the first time when I was around 14 years old--I listened to it everyday for a month. I love it just as much as I did then.

Our Lady Peace- "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face"

I love this one :D I always wish I could sing it to or play it for people when they make me mad, but unfortunately for various reasons it's kind of difficult XD But it's a great song, I love OLP's sound anyway, and though this one has some political overtones to it (I think I read about them saying that at one point), it can also be applied to everyday situations in an individual's life. Great song, great band, 10/10.

It's just the two of us
A silver cross
And some strength that you won't believe
See, I'm not your friend
And I won't pretend
That I've come here for peace
Well, I'm not afraid
I'm gonna make you pay
I'm gonna wipe that smile off your face

And this is war, and I'm
Gonna wipe that smile off your face

The time has come
To drop the bomb
On all the pain you've been selling
See, I don't like you
Or your attitude
Or the company that you keep

And this is war, and I'm
Gonna wipe that smile off your face
And this is war, and I'm
Gonna wipe that smile off your face

It's just the two of us
A silver cross
And some strength that you won't believe
Well, I'm not afraid
I'm gonna make you pay
I'm gonna wipe that smile off your face

It's war, and I'm
Gonna wipe that smile off your face
And this is war, and I'm
Gonna wipe that smile off your face
Wipe that smile
Wipe that smile
I'm gonna wipe that smile off your face
Wipe that smile
Wipe that smile
I'm gonna wipe that smile off your face

Master P - Bout It Bout It [click to listen]

Yesterday I went out to my friend's house, she and I were practicing different types of dancing. We even tried fit to strip moves. Well this song came on in her CD of burned favorite songs, and I thought it was pretty interesting. When I looked it up today, I noticed it was made years ago. Either 3 or 4, but hip hop/rap today sounds nothing like they did in the past. So yeah, I currently have this song in my head, and any other catchy beat songs that Master P has to offer .

Stille Nacht/Silent Night - John Denver and the Muppets

Probably my favorite version of the song; especially the way they do it in both german and english. Heck, the entire album's one of my favorites, especially this one:

The style they play it in just seems to fit so much better than the Beach Boys.

I'm currently listening to some Nine Inch Nail. I really like that band. Trent Reznor is an amazing music/song writer. The Great Below is currently looping on my winamp player. I can listen to that song several times in a row. It's from the album The Fragile (1999). It's one of my favourite NIN song. It's a song about death and how it can be peaceful. I love the music and the lyrics. Here's a fan video:

Tearing Away - Eyeshine Feat. Kimberly Freeman of One eyed Doll

Definitely one of Eyeshine's better songs, and with Kims vocals as an add-on is just the tip of the iceberg. It's great when they sing individually, but when they sing at the same time, it makes Johnny's voice even better, and Kim's voice is just so pure :ryan:. It's such a shame that Eyeshine didn't win this years Battle of the Bands :/; they would of done great.

Here's my chance to think of
All the things I wanna say
All the things that make me feel that I'm afraid...

The clock is turning backwards
As my mind has gone astray
And the world before me simply peels away...

Like a poor and broken child
I'm here among the wild
Thorns that cut me deep when I breathe in...

I'm tearing away, from all of the pain
From all of the things that make me feel that I can't dream
I'm tearing away, from all of the pain
From all of the things that make me feel that I can't dream...

Here's my chance to think of
All the things I wanna say
All the things that make me feel that I'm afraid

The clock is turning backwards
As my mind has gone astray
And the world before me simply peels away

Like a poor and broken child
I'm here among the wild
Thorns that cut me deep when I breathe in...

I'm tearing away! From all of the pain!
From all of the things that make me feel that I can't dream!
I'm tearing away! From all of the pain! (Tearing away!)
From all of the things that make me feel that I can't dream! (I'm tearing away!)
I'm tearing away!
I'm tearing away!

I'm tearing away, from all of the pain
From all of the things that make me feel that I can't.

Drowning Pool - Tear Away [click to listen]

Drowning Pool is an interesting band indeed. I started listening to them when I was in 8th grade, and right now I have 4 of their songs on my music player. Not much, but some of their songs are way better than others - especially since their old vocalist died, some of the music has changed a lot. Some of their songs are extremely expressive (depending on the person, they may creep them out), and this song is one of them. I haven't gotten tired of it yet .

Shontelle - Impossible

It's taken me a while to even like this song. I didn't particularly like T-shirt either. But I really do adore this song. The lyrics are really effective and I can relate to them. Her voice is so strong, especially during the chorus. The whole production of this has been done so well and even though this is only third time I've heard this, I've got a feeling it'll grow on me in time.

8/10

Incubus- "Quicksand"

This song is too short, but other than that, I love it :D What's cool is that the music has an unusual time signature which, when combined with the slow tempo, creates a sluggish, "quicksand"-like feel, it's cool. And Brandon Boyd's voice has some nice effects on it, and he reaches some really cool notes in it. 10/10.

Okay...now the monster is awake
It won't rest until there is nothing left
Maybe ever and anon
I'll forget about the pain
Someone bending light comes along
And flowers lean toward the sun

Some people fall in love and touch the sky
Some people fall in love and find quicksand
I hover somewhere in between
I swear, I can't make up my mind

Jesse McCartney - Beautiful Soul [click to listen , especially you ladies]

I haven't heard this song in a LONG time, but like some girls, it actually makes me feel happy inside whenever I hear it. I wasn't entirely a big fan of Jesse back then as a kid, and I can't say I am one currently, but this is just one of those songs . . .that brighten your mood. One of the songs that makes you feel comfortable about yourself no matter what anyone else says. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this song .

Hibernate- That High (Radio Edit)

I heard this on Fresh Friday on BPM on my way home from work...and I think its a really refreshing and bouncy "feel good" song about love. Its about that high that you get when you are around or look at someone you love. 10/10

Angie Aparo- "Cry"

This song is more well known for the Faith Hill country version, but this was actually the original, and I prefer this one. To hear it sung by a male is interesting, because normally women are considered by society to be the bigger "cryers," and this puts a new spin on things. I like this song because I always have to laugh at the people who claim to have no emotions, and not care about others, when you know deep down that they do. So this is kind of like saying "I know it's in there, now let it out," etc. 9/10 only because it's not my absolute favorite song in the world, or his best, but it is good.

If I had just one tear running down your cheek,
Maybe I could cope, maybe I'd get some sleep
If I had just one moment at your expense,
Maybe all my misery
It would be well spent, yeah....

Could you cry a little? Lie just a little?
Pretend that you're feeling a little more pain
I gave, and now I'm wanting something in return
So cry just a little for me

If your love could be caged, honey,
I would hold the key,
And conceal it underneath
The pile of lies you handed me
And you'd hunt in those lies
And they'd be all you'd ever find
That'd be all you'll have to know
For me to be fine, yeah...

And you'd cry a little, you'd die just a little
And maybe I'll feel just a little less pain
I gave, and now I'm wanting something in return
So cry just a little for me

Give it up baby, a whimper would be fine
Some kind of clue that you're doing time
Some kind of heartache, honey, give it a try

I don't want pity
I just want what is mine, yeah

Could you cry a little? Lie just a little?
Pretend that you're feeling a little more pain
I gave, and now I'm wanting something in return
So cry just a little for me
Yeah, could you cry a little for me?
Yeah, cry a little for me.

Bloc Party-One Month Off

Realllllllly cool alternative song. I've never heard of the band before...but I heard this song on XM on my way home and was jammin' just a bit. The lyrics are kinda simple however, they tend to get stuck in your head..and the guy who sings them has a pretty decent voice...he sounds British I think :monster: 8/10
