[V5] What are you currently listening to?

Suspect Device - Stiff Little Fingers

My favourite song, by perhaps the most political punk band. They're obviously a result of their surroundings. Their surroundings being Ireland during the troubles, I think the song is a fair reaction to it, outrage mostly as well as fuck off. It's more the English style of punk, raw and fairly angry, as opposed to the more arty punk of America.

Queens famous 'I Want To Break Free'. Listening to the lyrics, I realise just how much it matches up to a person I know. It's scary how some deep songs just seem to have been created for that one person. It's definitely one of my favorites. Next to 'Don't Stop Me Now' & 'We Will Rock You'. :P

Armin Van Buuren feat. Laura V- Drowning (Aviici Remix)

This song is <3. This has got to be my favorite song from Armin EVAR. The lyrics are sooooo beautiful and meaningful...and the beat by Aviici is so lovely. I can't stop listening to it :inlove:

<The Outside> by Taylor Swift

Re-listening to some of her older songs from her first album. This just happened to come up after listening to 'Our Song' for the umpteenth time now. This is quite a refreshing change. The latter is quite the upbeat song.

'The Outside' still has that bounce in its rhythm, but it's relatively milder. It makes for a good transitionary phase to relaxation >.> Lol

The Mars Volta - Agadez

I really like the vocals in this song. The first half of the song almost sounds pop(ish), or at least pop by Mars Volta standards with layers of mayhem over the top, I like it. I like the guitar lick after the first chorus too, it has a nice swing to it. The second half of the song isn't quite as good as the first, but I still dig this song.

Westlife - Us Against The World

I'd quite forgotten how wonderful and emotional this song is, glad it came up on my shuffle. What makes it even more unique is that it's an actual original song from them! The production of this has been put together very well. I love the slow beat behind it, which builds up towards the end. The lyrics are very, very beautiful as well. Definitely one of my favorites from them.

10/10

Fleetwood Mac (ft. Stevie Nicks [?]) -- Dreams

So while I went to the store a few days ago (which was a long trip) they played this song on the radio, twice. It wasn't a bother to hear it, because I remember hearing this song all the time as a kid and liked it a lot.

It just caught me by surprise that they played this song over the usual stuff they played. :/

I really love her voice in this song, something about it.

10/10

Wake Up - Coheed and Cambria

Nice mellow sound to it, and the lyrics are pretty direct, and that's what I like most about it. It's a bit on the pop-rock side, and that's what I think makes the song so great, and what's even better is that Coheed keeps the prog side to them still in tact. Oh yes, definitely one of my favorite songs from them.

I'm going to ride this plane out of your life again.
I wish that I could stay but you argue.
More than this I wish you could've seen my face
In backseat staring out the window.

I'll do anything for you,
Kill anyone for you.

So leave yourself intact
'Cause I will be coming back.
In a phrase to cut these lips,
I love you.

The morning will come
In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest
Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
Until you decide to wake up.

I've earned through hope and faith
The curves around your face
That I'm the one you'll hold forever.
If morning never comes for either one of us,
Then this I pray to you wherever.

I'll do anything for you.
This story is for you.
('Cause I'd do anything you want me to... for you.)
I'll do anything for you,
Kill anyone for you.

So leave yourself intact
'Cause I won't be coming back.
In a phrase to cut these lips,
I loved you.

The morning will come
In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest
Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
Until you decide to wake up.

The morning will come
In the press of every kiss
With your head upon my chest
Where I will annoy you
With every waking breath
'Til you decide to wake up.

Bjork- "Army of Me"

:jess:

Amazing song, one of my favorites, I'm a huge fan of industrial rock and when mixed with Bjork it's even better. Just heard a remix version in Sucker Punch, but this one here is the original, it's one I always have to keep listening to over and over again, it's that good :yay:

Chelsea Dagger - The Fratellis

It's different from their usual sound and I like it. It's slow and this allows them to show off his brilliant vocals. The lyrics are pretty dark and the production of the whole thing is brilliant. It's one of my favourites from The album and goes to show they don't always need a big show to make a good song.

Blink 182 -- Down

I have always loved Blink 182 since I was a kid and although this isn't my favorite song they have made, its among my favorites :33

My favorite part in the song is when he sings:

Tidal waves they rip right through me
Tears from eyes worn cold and sad
Pick me up now, I need you so bad.

I don't know what the song reminds me of, but I know it reminds me of something, I just cannot put a finger on it. :hmmm:

9.4/10

Questions and Answers - Biffy Clyro

Amazing band, amazing song. It's been on repeat for the passed two hours. I just love it when Simon goes "Still we spend our time without the chorus." Such pretty lyrics in this song! Absolutely love it.

Take advantage of the sound! ♥

I love that song. <3 I actually switched to listening to it when I saw your post because it's so awesome.

... and now I can't remember what I was even listening to that I was going to post here.

*flicks through shuffle* <.< >.>

White Houses - Vanessa Carlton

I've loved this song since I first heard it, it's so.. upbeat and happy even though not all of the song is happy. It's more like bittersweet, and I know every word. <3

Now, off to listen to all... four Vanessa Carlton songs I have. funtimes.

Trouble For Me - Britney Spears

I love her new album, you're not going to find the next thought-provoking lyric, but dammit, it's catchy. This is one that stood out immediately. Great chorus, and it sounds like the laptop that does her singing for her is doing a great job, she sounds seductive, she sounds confident, it sounds like a great Britney song :ryan:

Our Song - Taylor Swift

Can't help not listening to this song again. At the moment, this is one song that is repeating itself over and over in my head, and on my lap top. It's just so upbeat that I cannot resist it, even with Friday attempting to seize the spot.

<Loser> by Beck

I first heard this song from some advertisement.

The guitar throughout the piece was quite interesting, and more so for the chorus, which is easy to sing along with. As self-derogatory as it may seem, this one's my latest craze.
