[V5] What are you currently listening to?

Guillemots - Walk the River

A friend posted it on his facebook so I had a wee click, for the first minute it was a bit slow and I was half tempted to close it. Then I really got into the tune, and once it hit the first chorus I was already waiting to hit the replay button

Lovesong - The Cure

One of, if not my favourite song from my favourite Cure album. It's such a nice change from the rest of the album which is incredibly depressing and sombre. That's not to say Lovesong isn't sad, but I think there's something in it which isn't in the other songs, that being genuine emotion. It's a sincere song. I think that gives the song a certain amount of vulnerability which is lacking on the rest of the album.

Sting feat. Cheb Mami - Desert Rose (Original)

I was on another forum (global) and someone posted some nice Arabic music and it made me want to listen to my man Cheb again. I still have had time to gather up more of his work, but I will soon. :olivia:

I just love this song so much. I love the lyrics, the beat, Cheb, the video, the feeling...makes me feel like I'm where I want to me, like I'm home and actually happy. I know, I'm gushy.

10/10

The Kinks- You Really Got Me

So sometimes I get the urge to turn on the oldies station on xm for just a bit to see what they are playing in the rare event it might be something I'll really like.... I struck out today :awesome: I really love this song its so classic. The lyrics are amazing...the accents are yummeh and the beat makes you want to get up and dance. Its hard not to love this.

Hope is So Far Away - Eyeshine

OMG this song is so great. I love how it opens up with drums, goes into bass guitar, then rhymthic guitar, a combo of all three, and then vocals. And the lyrics are really something. Everything in this song is great. :ryan:

World Spins Madly On - The Weepies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBk3ynRbtsw

D: it's gorgeous.

BTW How the heck do I link youtube vids? The post thing doesn't seem to work, because it never produces a video, just a jumbled link.

In that link, it goes:

Beautiful song, yes. I never get tired of listening to The Weepies. I also like Can't Go Back Now and Gotta Have You. :ryan:

Aaand, my pop phase continues. Jay Sean - Maybe currently playing. I have to say though, he has a pretty good voice. He could probably do a whole song just with his falsetto and it would work. I'm also glad his lyrics aren't obscene.

In The Middle Of The Night - Within Temptation

Been listening to The Unforgiving a lot recently...its a slight step up from The Heart of Everything, but it doesn't even come remotely close to their earlier albums, Mother Earth or The Silent Force, the latter in particular. But I'm becoming quite fond of this song; Sharon has an absolute fantastic voice.

D: Thanks Coco!

Now I'm listening to Vishnu - E. S. Posthumus

I NEVER tire of these wonderful creations. ESP were an amazing duet of composers and I felt honestly heart-broken that one of them passed away a year or so ago and at the possibility that their amazing musical journey is over... :( But I still hope!

I swear, half of the fantasy stuff I write in my novels can be read to these guys' music.

Haters Anonymous - Sky Ferreira

I love this song. It's so catchy and addictive. Of course I think it's B&A so that explains why. The chorus is great. And the breakdown. I love it all, even though the spoken word bits are a bit odd.

JUST DON'T BE A CLOSET FREAK :wacky:

Pirates...The Sequel - In Fear And Faith

For those of you who know me well, you know that I'm an avid fan of Post-Hardcore music, and In Fear and Faith are one of my favorites. Great guitar riffs, drums are excellent, vocals top notch, and the screams are of high quality. and not to mention the lyrics to this song are great. :ryan:

I'm listening to Lenka. Love that girl. Moving along the playlist, now on "Don't Let Me Fall." Her songs are so carefree and happy ^_^

Screenwriting an Apology - Hawthorne Heights

I really don't know what all I can say about this song. I guess if I were to say one thing, it would be that I totally love it, and it's the perfect song to describe my current mood. >.>

So yeah, I love this song. ^_^

WOODKID -- Iron

I only heard it two-three days ago and started to look for more of their stuff, only to see there is no "other" work. :gasp:

I hope they release more stuff, this is song and band is boss. The video is boss and it was even featured in a boss game. How much more boss does it need before it becomes too much boss?

Anyway, all I can say its a pretty amazing song. You guys should give it a shot, if you haven't already. :sup:

10000/10

How To Save A Life - The Fray

One of my most favorite songs. D: The music video made me sniffle and then smile as I watched it, because it mentioned a lot of my own personal credos for feeling good and living well through any circumstance...

Laura Marling - My Manic and I

She can put more emotion into one word than most other artists can put into an entire album, she blows any other sole female with a guitar away. Plus I got tickets to see her, for my birthday and cannot wait

Tinseltown - The Blue Nile

I like The Blue Nile a lot because Paul Buchanan sounds so depressed and miserable, but they're really romantics. They sing such lovely songs about Glasgow which sounds like a pretty shitty place. But they have the ability to find beauty in even the ugliest of places.
