The Whale Song - Modest Mouse

This has the longest intro to any song I have ever heard, I am sure people know one that is way longer but that is not the point. The opening guitar is really good I think, a visceral and raw sound that is not unlike genuine whale song. Around the three minute mark the singing begins, and it is absolutely first class. I am not sure what the lyrics are intended to mean, I have a few ideas of what I think, though I get the feeling it is meant to be different for everyone.

Reverend Black Grape - Black Grape

I am listening to this song because on the way to uni there's a couple of god botherers trying to convert people standing on benches and talking shit through megaphones and they annoy me. Although the song is about the Catholic church and the Nazis, the lines about selling your religion and talking bullshit bullshit bullshit etc etc are particularly apposite.

Into Oblivion(Reunion) - Funeral For A Friend

Despite it being one of their more softer songs, I believe this is one of FFAF's best songs. REally has an inspiring sound, and the words really hit you home. When you have a song that talks about a soldier coming home from war, you instantly love it, but with Matt Davey's voice, it really adds a special something; it's almost believable.

My Heart Is Broken - Evanescence

Oh, I LOVE this song. I really hated the new single, and I was worried that the rest of the new album was going to be as bad, but this song has definetely shown me how unfounded my worries are. Amy Lee has a fantastic voice, and reminds me of precisely why I used to be so into the group. Plus it doesn't as horrifyingly angsty as it did when I was younger...

No YT link, since they all appear to have been removed...guess the album isn't out officially yet :gasp:

Beyonce feat Andre 3000- Party

Ohhh man do I love this song, its a horrible addiction. I heard this a few days ago and I've been listening it since. Its such a sweet and cute R&B song...with two of the greats, Andre 3000 and Beyonce. The background is a bit Outkast-ish but the Beyonce lyrics make it a little sultry. Kanye's beginning always makes me laugh though...swagoo :lew: ... :inlove:

Dark Eternal Night - Dream Theater

I'm debating it with myself on whether or not this is my favorite Dream theater song or not. I just love the progressive elements in this song, and just the beginning really gives me chills all the way down my spine. the Keyboard in this song is just total earsex. I will miss the drumming of Portnoy, but eh. This song is just awesome overall. :ryan:

Shadow of the Colossus OST

I was watching some YouTube lists for games (for the hardest bosses, scariest bosses, and the like) and this game kept appearing. Perhaps it was a personal favorite of the person who created those lists - since I was going for lists by the same person as his videos were pretty much the best made amongst the many - but it hard to not think the music in this game is awe-inspiring.

That, and of course, the bosses are just as awe-inspiring... Come on. A jaw-dropping huge freak of nature wandering around that must be killed. Some of them look cool too :D

And the thing about video game music is how it sets a mood in the game. Well yeah. That it does well. Well enough to be worth listening in my spare time. Some soothing numbers to calm your spirits; or some hard thumping ones to rouse your fighting spirit.

Man. My hat is off to this game.

One OK Rock -- Naihi Shinsho

I heard them when I was searching up Naruto openings. The song had been made into a fanopening -- that I didn't know was fake until the other day -- that I watched and now love. :awesome:

My favorite part is the start of the song. I love how he sings it:

okashita tsumi no kazu ga sabishisa monogatatten da yo
soshitara otona wa SORE mite subete wo waruku iun daro?

10/10

I. About. Died.

That's how I felt when I heard this new song. :inlove: My jaw dropped. :ryan:

It is the coolest song I've heard on the radio since Sc-Fi Crimes. :melody: I'm so in love with that slow but strong guitar rift. It's so sick sounding. :ohoho: I love how his voice just drops in outta nowhere, too. The drums in the background are as strong and powerful as they ever are. :inlove: Pete's vocals are... amazing!! :gonk: They're a mixture of his wonder what's next and this type of thinking could do us in album style of vocalizing--and guys, it is a SICK-WICKED way of singing.

The lyrics are really really awesome though. They're just perfect.

I am so stoked for this album. Sucks it drops in December, though. :sad3:

My mood for the rest of the day will be this:

HELL YEAH!!!

Morgenstern - Rammstein

I used to listen Rammstein all the time a few years ago, and now I'm just getting back into them again. This song has always stuck out to me, probably because it's so much more melodic than most of their songs, and I haven't been one for heavier metal (well, except Chimaira on occasion) for a while now. The lyrics are quite interesting as well.

Hold On by Good Charlotte

I was always able to feel this song when I was younger, and I listen to it no and it still fits; there's no music like Punk I have to admit and I don't think I'd be the same gal without this band; particularly this song.
I can't believe how old this song it now :gonk: My goodness I was 9 :(

Grim Goodbye - Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

I just love this song. It starts off with a great guitar, then drums come in. Amagod it's great. The singer's voice fits with the genre their placed in, and his screams are also quite good. Even though now RJA are more alternative than Post-Hardcore, it still pleasing to know that at least one of their albums can be hardcore. ^_^

Armin Van Buuren ft. Nadia Ali- Feels So Good

Ohh my do I love this. Its so mellow and whenever I hear Nadia's voice in a song its like the perfect touch to make a song a little bit sexy but never overdone. I had this on repeat for awhile yesterday because I couldn't get enough of it :gonk: Its songs like this that Armin is one of my favorite DJ's.

Incubus - Pantomime

I can't get enough Incubus these days. I have every album they made now. :wacky: They're all I listen to anymore.

Of course I become a huge fan now that they've done a Manila concert just two months ago and probably won't be back for at least 5 years :hmph: </3

Metal is not dead to me(anymore!!)

GHOST-----Ritual

These guys sound like Mercyful Fate/King Diamond with a little 70's groove metal(old Black Sabbath) with some pop-metal influence and satanic overtones. Really catchy stuff.

BE FOREWARNED: you will have this shit stuck in your head for days after listening.

Avenged Sevenfold - Natural Born Killer

The guitaring Syn gates is doing in this song is so freaking kick ass!!!! I love how powerful and fast it is, it really gets you pumped! Honestly, I can see about any epic fight take place to this song that's how awesome it is. The guitar just sounds like it's taunting you to try and fight, when you know you'd lose. :ryan: The drums are so powerful, too. fast and just as heart racing-ly pumped as the guitar. the lyrics are kick ass too. :kira:and M shadows voice is to die-for-sexy-yum-ilicious :melody:

One snap for the dying
One click to end the day
Another story with a mangled scene
It couldn't happen any other way

You wanna talk about it?
I'm begging you to walk in my shoes any time
Watch the clock till you unwind
You wanna cry about it
It's making me consider that I've lost my mind
The way I see, you must be blind

So this is the world you left behind
This is the guilt that consumes you

So die alone
This is the one thing that I won't do
So say your prayers
Cause I ain't leaving here without you

Can't bribe me with money
Can't shower me with shame
Another killer from a broken home
Until you come on me with manic fame

You wanna know about it?
Well I'mma be fucking with you every time
Story broken, you're behind
Yeah when you ask about it?
You can rest assured I'll give you my best side
Seems we all have friends to find

So this is the hate I've been born to
Full are the tales of the untrue

So die alone
This is one thing that I won't do
So say your prayers
Cause I ain't leaving here without you

And I'm waiting
Waiting for the days to slowly pass me by
(and all the promises I'll find)
No hesitating, you've pulled the trigger now your story's left behind
I know you want to see me fry
Lock my soul you hope to burn

So die alone
This is the one thing that I won't do
So say your prayers
Cause I ain't leaving here without you

To die unknown
Would crush the fish-lens we all see through
To care the glare
Expose the ugliness we hold true

love you Like A Love Song - Selena Gomez

Don't ask, I was listening to the radio, this song was on and I got hooked. I've always liked Selena Gomez, and always liked her voice, so I guess this was a given, but I just love the lyrics. Their catchy, and well they caught me. haha.
I also like the beat in the background. :ryan:

Coldplay- Every Tear Drop Is A Waterfall (Swedish House Mafia remix)

I heard this on the way home from groceries last night. This is such a stunning song...the lyrics are beautiful and so touching...and the fact that its remixed by SHM keeps it upbeat and perky. The effects are nothing short of amazing and everything builds up to a nice high at the end. Love this.
