[V5] What are you currently listening to?

Kimbra - Wandering Limbs.

Pure talent, this can not be learned... Such a beautiful voice followed up by amazing harmony. She can almost do anything with that voice of hers.

I will edit and go far beyond and say, I think I've never heard such raw talent in over 20 years.

Just imagine the colabs she could do. Her voice and the emotion she puts in. Her rhythm and the ability to actually make her own harmonies.

I hope she doesn't get perverted and twisted by an American Record Label. What a shame that would be. (perverted in a sense, that she has to be made to sing with certain talentless artists, or unoriginal tunes)

You Were The King, Now You're Unconscious by Atreyu

One of the songs featured on their last album before Atreyu took a hiatus for personal reasons. they sure did a great job on this album. It's well-produced, and they still retained their style of hard-hitting guitars, and vocals that catch your attention. This song kind of speaks for itself. It's great and I think its one of their best. :ryan:

Jet- Cold Hard Bitch

I've never been the biggest Jet fan...but I heard this on the Alternative station on XM and I kind of fell in love :lew:

The lyrics are fun enough and are pretty sassy. I like this better than Are You Gonna Be My Girl...I could listen to this over and over and it wouldn't get annoying to me like that one does.

Rapture That song brings back so many memories <3

Currently listening to "One Week" by Barenaked Ladies. I remember when this song made its way to the digimon movie, I was in love with it. And even moreso, this band is pretty great. i love them. :ryan:

Jason Derulo- Breathing

I caught part of this on the radio before another song came on. I really like A LOT of Jason Derulo's stuff come to think of it. I like how the lyrics in his songs are usually pretty well thought out and the songs always have such an addictive beat. This is no different. <3.

The Downfall of us all by A Day To Remember. Homesick is my favourite album of theirs; and while this isn't my favourite track off of the album, it's an okay opener IMO. I love the opening of it, haha.

Babies - Pulp

This song combines Jarvis Cocker's sense of humour with his interest in sex in a very nicely. It's about a guy who hides inside his friend's sister wardrobe so he can watch her having sex. And eventually he has sex with his friend's sister because she looks like his friend. Pulp also have a quite nice Britpop/alt rock sound too. It's not as good as Common People, but very few songs are that good.

Levitate - Hollywood Undead

A pretty solid tune from them. Not their best song, that much I admit. However, Danny's vocals are shine in this song. So, let me clarify. While this is a good song and while I do enjoy it a good amount, it's not their best, sadly. :/

Nelly Furtado- Do It

This has always been my favorite Nelly Furtado song. It's fun and upbeat and the lyrics tend to get stuck in my head :lew: I haven't heard anything from her in forever :( She was pretty popular for awhile and then nothing...

Shake it out by Florence + the machine

I finally got around to legally purchasing her new album. It's pretty good overall I suppose, but I have only listened to it twice through and there are 20 or so songs on it. Due to it's length I haven't picked many stand out songs yet, this one of them though. The first half of the song is better than the latter

A Boy Brushed In Red Living in Black And White - Underoath

I had originally thought these guys were metal, but then I found out they are completely the opposite. Actually, they are more in the emo/screamo genre. Kind of breaks my heart Emo/screamo isn't popular anymore ;-;. It deserves so much better criticism than it had originally had gotten. >:[

recently ive been takin it old skool ever since Ohri-Jin reminded me of sweet like chocolate. these were tunessss ten years ago damn im old.

Brompton Cocktail - Avenged Sevenfold

Such an amazing song. I love it's meaning more than anything but it's musically amazing. The bongo drums in the beginning are just so powerful and it really pulls you in until there's this eruption of guitars finished off by a very smooth and soft humming. I love the scratchy and emotional vocals M. Shadows uses on this song. When he does this really gentle yet firm scream it shows how emotionally attached he is to what he's singing about, and that's hard to come by nowadays.

His vocals are just so powerful--it makes me see and understand just how hard it is for those who are dying and don't want to suffer anymore.

The chorus is just as heartbreaking yet powerful. The bit about sins always gets me, though

The guitar solo in the background when he's whispering before he lets out this really load yet surprisingly gentle scream is just... IMMENSE.

M. Shadows has one of the best vocals of today's music and I think this song really shows that.

"And leave how I arrived... SO ALIVE"

says it all, if you ask me. ♥

Bob Marley -- Is This Love(that im feeling)

Listening to this song puts my day into perspective. :ohshit:

Good vibes, yo. Good vibes to chase away whatever negativity may abound.

Peace and good health~.

Take a deep breath... AHHHH.....

Let it out... AHHH....

Aw, yeahh.. :britt:

Soulfly VIII - A beautiful instrumental off Soulfly's new album 'Enslaved'. It's really nice and far from their usual style of heavy. I'm not the biggest listener of Soulfly myself, so not sure if they have done anything else like this before, but 'Roots Bloody Roots' by Max Cavalera's old band Sepultura this is not. Give it a listen.

CheVelle - Arise
The beginning of this song reminds me of a Van Halen song--just the guitar, I mean. :lew: It's a sound I don't often hear nowadays in music. >.<

I love Pete's vocals in this song, they're just so amazing and spot on. Sam's drumming is, as always, amazing. ♥

I think the chorus and the lyrics in general are pretty empowering--when I listen to this song, I don't know... it just kinda gives me a push to do something. It's hard to explain. The lyrics just make me want to not give up... on anything I do.

My fav part is when the song gets really quite and then erupts into Pete singing this very strong line of lyrics and finally finishing it off with:

"But it's better not to behave
Clever not to be changed by them
Better not to behave
Clever not to be changed
"

The rhythm of his voice is just very honey-esk and gentle, but powerful at the same time. It's what really sounds most epic to me. I don't think I've ever heard a line of lyrics delivered in the way Pete delivered them in this song, at that part. :inlove:

Snow Patrol- Set the Fire to the Third Bar

Funny, I never thought too much about Snow Patrol since Chasing Cars came out but, this is such a deep song. Distance really is an awful thing, especially when it's putting you miles and miles away from someone you love. The vocals on this song are completely amazing.

baby i love your way - peter framton
oh yeah.

Mod Edit: Since this is a post-count section please could you expand your post? Perhaps say something about the song or why it makes you happy.

Cry of The Celts -- Ronan Hardiman/Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance

I'm really listening to the album and not on Youtube, but I couldn't share the song that way. Lord of the Dance music has been a favorite of mine for a long time. Though when I was little I didn't care much for it. :D Now I can't stop listening to it, as well as other Celtic/Irish music. Very inspirational and upbeat, good to listen to when you are done or want a good beat to dance to. :busta:

This isn't my favorite of the songs though, just the first one in the album list. I might post again when it gets to my favorite. xD

Ratings: 8.7/10!

P.S
There's also a song that sounds like it came right out of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, which I love the soundtrack of. :megusta2:
