The Pretty Reckless | Make Me Wanna Die

I quite like this song to say it is sort of heavy metal.
I'm not usually keen on that sort of song...
I think because it has a female vocalist I prefer it.
I hope to hear more from the band.

The lead vocalist, Taylor Momsen was in Gossip Girl...:hmmm:
Which I have never watched :lew:

Let Me Hear You Scream - Ozzy Osbourne

Can't wait for his new album :3 I know the lyrics in this song are pretty...simple, but it's catchy and I can just see this thing being used during a concert to get everyone riled up. I love it.

Turn It Off - Paramore

I really like this band, and this song is just another out of many that I love by them. The story behind the song is nice, as it was written when the band was ready to pull hairs out of each others head. :lew: I really like the lyrics in this song, and can't help but sing along rather loudly whenever this one plays on the radio, or comes on my iPod.

Great, great, great lyrics. :ryan:

10/10.

I scraped my knees while I was praying
And found a demon in my safest haven
Seems like it's getting harder to believe in anything
Than just to get lost in all my selfish thoughts

I wanna know what it'd be like
To find perfection in my pride
To see nothing in the light
I'll turn it off, in all my spite
In all my spite, I'll turn it off

And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall
I will realize I'm better off
When I hit the bottom

The tragedy, it seems unending
I'm watching everyone I looked up to break and bending
We're taking shortcuts and false solutions
Just to come out the hero

Well, I can see behind the curtain
(I can see it now)
The wheels are cranking, turning
It's all wrong, the way we're working
Towards a goal that's non-existent
It's not existent, but we just keep believing

And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall
I will realize I'm better off
When I hit the bottom

I wanna know what it'd be like
To find perfection in my pride
To see nothing in the light
I'll turn it off, in all my spite
In all my spite, I'll turn it off
Just turn it off
Again, again, again

And the worst part is
Before it gets any better
We're headed for a cliff
And in the free fall
I will realize I'm better off
When I hit the bottom

Pink Bullets - The Shins
It's nice to hear such a cliched topic, breaking up being sung about in such a unique way. The sound is quite unique too, in as much as it's unique to the Shins, it's a quite gentle mix of Alternative and Indie Rock. And the lyrics are wondefully intelligent at times as well, perhaps too intelligent, I doubt they'll ever get the recognition they deserve.
The Shins are incredible.

D'You Know What I Mean? - Oasis
The drums and light guitar early on give it a sort of weird feel - not very Oasis-y at all. Another one with good lyrics that don't quite make sense.

Manic Monday The Bangles.

I just love this song. Its on the Radio like everyday here and its fun to sing along to xD I dont even know the Bangles but probably the only song I like from em.

Six o'clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin' Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can't be late
'Cause then I guess I just won't get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made

It's just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
'Cause that's my funday
My I don't have to runday
It's just another manic Monday

Have to catch an early train
Got to be to work by nine
And if I had an air-o-plane
I still couldn't make it on time
'Cause it takes me so long
Just to figure out what I'm gonna wear
Blame it on the train
But the boss is already there

All of the nights
Why did my lover have to pick last night
To get down
Doesn't it matter
That I have to feed the both of us
Employment's down
He tells me in his bedroom voice
C'mon honey, let's go make some noise
Time it goes so fast
When you're having fun

Karnivool - Set Fire To The Hive

I'm not that big a fan of Prog Metal, but this song is exceptional. I really like the drumming and vocals (with the effects) at the beginning of the song and I find the chorus quite catchy as well. Not my favorite song, nor Karnivool song for that matter. But it's still quite decent.

The Cave - Mumford & Sons
Sadly, the only song of theirs that I know. It's an album I keep meaning to buy but always forget to when I'm in HMV.
It's a really good song though, it starts off slow with a folk/country feel to it and gets louder. The simple drums make it catchy.

'Spit It Out' by IAMX - it's the solo project of Chris Corner, ex-vocalist and founder of the now defunct band, Sneaker Pimps (it's also where I got my user name from). This song's noticeably not as trip-hop as his older stuff with the aforementioned band. The whole sound of the song just fits his unique almost feminine vocals. The song as a whole is just pretty really and yet a bit . . . confrontational I guess. I dunno, lol, it's hard for me as a listener to describe it. I get a lot of emotion from it: anger, fear, anxiousness, etc. You should all give it a listen, really.

Never look at the sun - The Delgados

Lovely song, nice and quite and soft for the most part, but a great chorus, loud and powerful. I think that's the only negative about the song, is a cliched in structure. However it's done very well, beautiful vocals from Emma Pollock, and the ability of the rest of the band play very well.

No Man's Land - Billy Joel

Yes yes, it's a song off "River of Dreams", which almost nobody seems to remember, even if it is somewhat full of ego.

Well, maybe people've heard Lullabye (Goodnight My Angel) which was used rather well with an Evangelion amv.

Kelis | Acapella

The song is a little bit boring, but it makes a great dancefloor smash! I was in a club, and this song came on and everyone went mad for it. The lyrics are pretty neat. She always makes catchy songs...such as, Milkshake in which she states her "milkshake" brings all the boys to the yard, and damn right it's better than yours. But Acapella is great too!

♪Before you... my whole life was Acapella!

Fall From Grace - Stevie Nicks

It's my new get up and go song, it's so full of energy, I love it. It's such a rock song, it really gets me going, the lyrics are great and the vocal is one of her strongest. I can't believe it's buried at the back end of the album, I found it by accident too, ages ago, just idly skimming each track, it's too epic to be near the end!

No Dream Can Heal A Broken Heart - Sonata Arctica

This is actually a pretty good song...I wasn't keen on The Last Amazing Grays album as a whole, because the songs were pretty awful, asides from the symphonic remixes. I'd forgotten about this one...it has a nice rhythm to it and isn't too much of a racket ♥

Alicia Keys - Don't Mean Anything

I really am starting to get into her music after hearing what she includes in her songs. I adore her voice in this song and how she inserts emotion here and there. What there's also to like how it goes from slow and eventually builds up towards the end. It's a nice song to relax to.

9/10

Lady Gaga and Beyonce - Telephone

This is such an addictive song and I have it as my ring tone, so it's always playing! :gasp:

I love the fast beat and the little movie/music video thing is pretty awesome.

I love this part of the lyrics:

Not that I don't like you,
I'm just at a party.
And I am sick and tired
Of my phone r-ringing.

This so reminds me of when my mother always called me every hour when I was out having fun/partying etc.

10/10

Beyonce - Halo

It's probably one of my favourite songs from her at the moment. Very, very beautiful. Her voice is so soft and polished. The chorus may tend to repeat per said word, but I also love the music behind it. The video's also visually dynamic.

10/10

Red House Painters- "Katy Song"

I actually found this song completely by accident yesterday, and now I can't stop listening to it :awesome: It's got a very mellow, pleasant melody, interesting lyrics, and they remind me somewhat of Sunny Day Real Estate, which is one of my favorite bands of all time :D This song also has an amazing 3+ minute outro, it's great to just sit back and relax to. 10/10

some escape some door to open
this path seems the blackest but i
guess it's the soonest
but there in the clearing i
know you'll be wearing
your young aching smile and
waving your hand
can't go with my heart when i
can't feel what's in it i
thought you'd come over
but for some reason you didn't
glass on the pavement under my shoe
without you is all my life amounts to

a final sleep no
words from my cutting
mouth to your ear or
taut wicked pinches
from my fingers to your bitter face
that i can't heal
i know tomorrow
you will be
somewhere in london
living with someone
you've got some kind of family
there to turn to
and that's more than i could ever give you

a chance for calm
a hope for freedom
outlet from my cold solitary kingdom
by the forest of our spring stay
where you walked away
and left a bleeding part of me
empty and bothered
watching the water
quiet in the corner
numb and falling through
without you what does my life amount to?

Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You

Her most emotional song in my honest opinion. I like how she can take experiences from the past and insert them into her music. The chorus is very catchy and her voice is so perfect for a song like this. It just goes to prove she can do ballads as well.
