[V5] What are you currently listening to?

Been in Hell - Hollywood Undead

A little more rockier than some of their other stuff, but it still retains the rap part of their music. Lyrics are awesome, arrangement is great, and vocals are great.

8.6/10
Real Emotion - Sweetbox

Aw the song that got me started on Jade. I still remember when I first played FFX-2 and heard this song and wanted it so bad. And I could find was the shitty Kumi Koda version. :rage:

If you think that one is bad, her version of 1000 words is just horrible :rage:

Ayumi Hamasaki - Real me

I've always loved this song to bits. It's so poppy and nice, but has an original sound on top of it. RAINBOW is one Ayu's best albums overall imo and this song is one of the reasons why.

10/10

The Strokes- Under Cover of Darkness

I don't know why I like this song so much. Its just really catchy and I think the lead singer is British and I love hearing British guys sing :inlove: I think my favorite part is the lyrics are "I'll wait for you... Will you wait for me too?" -so sweet and lovely.

Vanessa Carlton - Rinse

Great song, she really can write a song and rock the piano, this album remains her best in my opinion, and this song is strong evidence of that. She is very comparable to Tori and this song somehow feels like something Tori would have sung.

Definitely 10/10

The Strokes are from New York, so not British anyway - great band though :)

Super Furry Animals - The Man Don't Give A ****

9/10

Top quality single from the genius Welsh band, it might be the same line over and over but as usual they invest the song with all their usual brio.

Whoopsies! Well that explains it thanks! I've never been a good judge of accents...but it really sounds like they've got something going on there :monster:

Anyways- right now I'm listening to:

Foster the People- Pumped up Kicks

This song is so mellow and I love the lyrics...they are so relaxing. This is a great summer song where you can kick back and let go. I've been hearing this more and more on the radio so I guess its getting more popular. Love this.

Medicate - Breaking Benjamin

Yet another Breaking Benjamin song I know the lyrics to, can be caught singing frequently, and absolutely adore. Whilst not a personal favourite, I love all the songs by this group really, they're one of the few bands I like that are consistently excellent. Benjamin Burnley is easily my favourite non-symphonic metal singer~

2Pac - Dear Mama

Now I don't usually listen to rap, but I've always liked Tupac.

'A poor single mother on welfare tell me how you did it'. Reminds me of my mum and how much I love her =)

I have no idea how my mum raised 3 kids alone but she means everything to me!

'There's no way I can pay you back, but my plan is to show you that I understand, you're appriciated.

Blind/DINOSAUR by Ke$ha

I love her vocalizing in this song and the beat -- WHOEVER says she can't sing needs to reevaluate some things, she knows how to write a feel good "Feck you" kinda song as well, I mean it makes me wish I have had been in a relationship with a douche-bag just so I could feel her songs better xD

And I love Dinosaur so much, her lyrics are the best; "Not long til you're a senior citizen, and you can strut around with that sexy tank of oxygen" xD

Positive K- I got a man

This song is the lulz. Its soooo old I know but I always turn it up when I hear it. Some guys are just into a girl for one thing...and I agree with the lyrics "Are you a chef? 'cause you keep feeding me soup" :mokken:

Fly (Song of Liberation) - Blu

9.5/10

I love the sample used here. Great stuff. Awesome rapper. His flow's very distinct. Hell, even Asher Roth cites him as an influence. <3 this guy.

The Naked and Famous- Young Blood

Looooove this song! Its very similar to MGMT but I like the beat of this better than most of MGMT's stuff. The lyrics are very catchy and will probably stick in your head. I've been hearing this more and more so it must be getting more popular.

Only Shallow - My Bloody Valentine

The song is a great start to a great album. I'm not really sold on the way the lyrics are sung, it has a very dream like feel to it. Which is completely different to the riff, though perhaps that is the point. It's the guitar riff which this makes this song so good in my opinion, it is great.

19 Sai

That's Xxxholic's first opening theme. Never watched the series that faithfully, but the first time I heard this theme, I liked it. This is a type of singing voice that I like a lot. I know not the exact words to describe it... It's not the ballad type...

Not sure how to explain, but hey.

The title means '19 Years Old'. Seems to basically be about how the singer hates himself when he was 19 years old, based on the lyrics translations.

Lady Gaga - Judas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAWpkZSCMXU&feature=channel_video_title

This woman can do no wrong. It's already her second-best-selling single on iTunes, it's heading for the Billboard's #1 and it's catchy to boot. Innovative lyrics, controversial as always, with a simple but powerful anthemic beat in the background. From the 6 songs I've heard from her upcoming album (being Born This Way, Government Hooker, Sheisse, You & I, Someone to Watch over Me (yes I know it's a cover) and now Judas) I fucking love where she's taken the sounds for the new record. The only way you can describe these songs are as anthems. Or "mighty" tunes.

Can't wait for the video all the priests are up in arms about, she's going all Like A Prayer on their asses and portraying Mary Magdelene. :dave:

Secret Love - Stevie Nicks

Oh Stevie, you remind me of a time when image was a part of your music, not more important than it. Of all the songs from In Your Dreams that I've heard, this one reminds the best in my mind for it's easy listening vibe. The lyrics are typical love Stevie that put most artists to shame. Can't wait for the video, Warner Brothers need to get their heads outta their asses already.

"I am not asking forever from you, I'm just asking to be held for a while"

"I am not asking salvation from you, I'm just asking to be safe for a while"

"In a timeless search for love that might work, still we're already paying the price"

I'm currently listening to a FF7AC song. It's the song that usually plays when a scene is taking place in Aerith's church, so it's a bit sad.

War - Edwin Starr

I heard this song for the first time on the movie 'Rush Hour'. It was a brief moment, but fairly catchy - considering it's also sung by a non-singer. Well, figured out the song title recently after checking out the Wiki page of Rush Hour.

Pretty interesting song, really. The lyrics are screaming for attention, literally. That, this is one of the few songs where almost all the verses are different in content - excepting the chorus, of course.

I don't disagree with the lyrics, really, but whatever, the song's catchy!
