Notorious Thugs - Scary Kids Scaring Kids(Bong Thugs n' Harmony Cover)

Being a cover of a rap song, this song is absolutely sung in rap. Now SKSK is one of the Post-Hardcore bands that I love so much, so I was really surprised when I first listened to this song. I definitely can see the sounds they always have. It's a real shame that they broke up last year. :(

Nervo- We're All No One (feat. Afrojack and Steve Aoki)

I've been listening to this here and there on xm the last couple of weeks. This song has such an amazing beat...and the lyrics are so fun and I love them. What a fab dance track :inlove: ...and I'm so glad I'm hearing something new from Nervo because its been months since I've heard a song from them :gasp: !

The Thespian - Alesana

So, yeah I love this song, but I just watched the music video to it, and now I love it more. It's probably the highlight of their album, and just can't wait until their next album that releases next week. :jay:

Federal Dust - Silver Jews

I like Silver Jews a lot, they understand melancholy, but they also have a sense, those two things rarely come together. It's a very sparse song, drums that you have to struggle to hear, the occasional superb bass line. And the quite frail scratchy guitar. It helps to create this sense of a drought somewhere, cracked earth, that kind of thing. Very bleak and a fantastic song.

Don't Go - Bring Me the horizon feat. LIGHTS

Again I'm listening to this song, and again I'm loving the death out of it. Lights soft, tender vocals mixed with Oli's rough but emotional screams/distorted vocals are golden. :ryan:

I had to admit that after the disappointing Notorious, I had to feel let down after this new infectious sound that the band had brought in. It took me a while to warm to this, especially since it's so repetitive. But it slowly grew on me, unlike their first single, and it's a great song in clubs. The girls sound brilliant, even if there might be a bit of autotune in there. Plus, the whole "I put my head against the speakers" just does it for me.

9/10

Hopeless - Breaking Benjamin

I still love Dear Agony, it's an absolutely fantastic album. I usually listen to BB when I'm out and about, not when I'm lounging around doing bugger all, but I'm in the mood for them at the moment, they're probably (I say probably, because I'm still fond of Sonata Arctica, even if The Days of Grays was mostly disappointing) my favourite male vocal band...or whatever the musical term for that is. In any case, this is an awesome song.

Starlight-Rachael Yamagata

I love her music. Matthew introduced me to her music, and I'm addicted. I'm currently listening to this song from her new album, Chesapeake.

Hurt - Johnny Cash - Nine Inch Nails Cover

One of the best covers I've ever heard. Period. I'm not going to say that Nine Inch Nails is that good, because their not, but damn they did something right when they came out with this song. It's like it was made for Johnny Cash to cover it. Honestly, it's such a great song, I can't even believe the differences between the original and Johnny's version. It's a shame he passed away shortly after this song was recorded. Truly a musical icon.

I also believe that Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt is truly one of the best covers I have ever heard.

The first time I saw the vid for this song I couldn't help but feel sad for him.
His wife is gone and he is all alone with his memorabilia in his house and he just looks so sad. Man in Black, you will always have a part of my music collection.

^Yeah, it is truly one of the best - if not the best - cover of any song.

I know You Know - In Fear And Faith

I was skeptical of downloading their new album as I was to believe that their original clean vocalist was replaced, but then I found out that it wasn't true, and when I did download this album, this was the first song I listened to and I loved it. Really shows how awesome this band is and really love the mild breakdowns in this song. :ryan:

Jessica Sutta- Show Me

This is such an upbeat song...and I love the lyrics. She sings about how you can tell someone over and over that you love them but it means nothing compared to showing them how you love them. The background beat is really nice and this is just a really fun song to listen to. I've had it on repeat for the last day and it still isn't getting old :lew:

Mariah Carey- Fantasy

OMG do I love this song! :raye: This was totally my song back in the day when I was a little bit younger. I absolutely LOVE Mariah's older tracks, this and heartbreaker being my favorite. The girl can SING! :griin: I heard this on the way home from school last night and I was totally bumpin' it loud while I cruised home...it brought back some highschool memories :lew:
