Was Kimahri a Worthless Character in Battle?

I never used Kimahri and he's weak in my game, but I don't think he was completely worthless he had that roll in the story as a close bodyguard of Yuna

Yeh but even his part in the story could have been vastly improved by square, they could have done something alot more interesting with a better character in his stead

But you do agree that his overdrives where by the far the weakest compared to everyone elses

Heck even rikku had better overdrive mixes then kimahri :P

<_<;; Kimahri had nice overdrives! Such as White Wind, Mighty Guard, and Stone Breath. haha.

His were not meant to be extremly outstanding moves.

I totally agree with you on that. Kimahri had excellent overdrives. Mighty Guard came in handy, for me, many times! But of course, you have to put in work, to get it. That's the thing. Most people don't bother with poor Kimahri and Lancet. Honestly, my Kimahri was a great asset. If you use him in battle, gain sphere levels with him, etc. If you never use him, if course he'll be terrible. :P

He was needed for porn pirating enthusiasts to create works of cringing beastiality, something I cannot bring myself to agree with.

It all depends on how you play the game and who you decide to level up. If you over level characters, they absorb the usefulness of another character. For most of the game, Yuna helped me a lot for healing, Lulu was my best damage dealer for awhile. Kimahri was a great supporting character and I liked Rikku for stealing things, and taking out machina in one hit.

However, by the end of my game, characters like Auron and Wakka were doing max damage, just as much as Anima doing Oblivion. So, Yuna was no longer useful to me since Tidus still did very decent damage, though not as much as Auron, so he was my healer. It was more about speeding through a battle with force, not being fancy about it with protecting myself since it was usually over before it started. Granted I leveled a ton, but I took out the Final Summon really quick with Tidus, Wakka and Auron. Of course, you can over level any character and have them do tons of damage since that was the kind of game FFX was.

Anyway, got a little off topic there. Kimahri was helpful, though towards the end I didn't need him any more. Kimahri was more of a replacement for Auron until he came along since he was stronger than Kimahri with a piercing attack. Auron handled the tougher shelled enemies better, Tidus took care of the fast moving guys, Wakka for the flyers, Lulu for the magic users. It leaves Kimahri as a loose end. People can say that he had his usefullness, but the way I see it, that usefullness is quite limited compared to most of the other characters.

I never really used Kimahri throughout the majority of the game. Him, Rikku and Wakka never got used much whenever I played, especially Kimahri. I just generally found him quite weak and wasn't really into his character.

I used Kimahri during the begining when he was useful. But after that I did'nt see much point of using him he just was not enough of a strong hitting character to use, unless you go to the trouble of getting all of his Lancet overdrives and ultimate weapon. Which I thought of more of a hassle than anything else.

Then there is his sphere grid location, which after the the the 4 main black magic spells and jinx isn't really much use. It forces you you to switch him to someone else' grid which I disliked.

I don't think he's worthless at all. He can be jsut as powerful as anyone bar summons and overdrives. He has the capability to travel around the sphere grid the same path as everyone else. I would have used him more, but Yuna could summon, so to me that made he the most powerful in my party, and Wakka had Attack Reels overdrive, so he was #2.

Well, I used him a bit, especially in Bevelle and the Calm Lands (second playthrough)...
I had a bad experience on my first playthrough with those two gay Ronso when you first enter Mt. Gagazet, and hadn't used Kimahri much...
However the second time, I owned them both...
I liked using lancet, and i got his ultimate weapon first of all the characters (I dont even know how i did that) and so he was fairly useful for me...

Kimahri has probably the highest potential of the characters but I was waaaay too lazy to build on that. The easiest thing for me was to just
put him on Tidus' grid and he turned out alright. Taking advantage of lancet and all the possible overdrives could make him pretty useful, though.

The only use I found for kimahri was to use his overdrives to inflict alot of damage fast or when most of my party is down he is someone to take damage but apart from that I find him near useless.

Kimarhi is a useful character. This is for three good reasons.

1. He has decent attack power and HP (a little lower than Auron I've found, but still good)

2. He had Lancet and his Rages.

3. You could use his Sphere Grid to teach everybody else Lancet.

So, he was a very useful character to me at least.

^ Haven't people already countered those statements?

Anyone's HP and Str can be brought to the same level through the sphere grid.
I don't know where you got the idea that his overdrives are worth mentioning. None of them are multi-hit (Bar Nova. Which is a 2-hit combo).

If you say that he is strong during the period from when you first get him to say......just before BFA. Then I say that the main story's bosses are pitifully weak compared to the monster arena bosses. This is where he loses his shine.

When I played this game, I never used Kimahri that much, but I still leveled him. At the end of the game, I got his Final overdrive and it was cool. Apparently, it's supposed to be the strongest move in the entire game:wink:
